Abstract:
This article analyses the factors that considerably influence the efficiency of automobile technical exploitation. It has been noted that automobile technical exploitation is basically determined by the following factors: the system and organizational level of automobile technical maintenance and repairs; the level of service basis; qualification of the staff; the level of stock and supply; the structure and age of automotive fleet and conditions of exploitation. This article presents the analysis of the first factor. The factor is significant enough and does not involve big investments. A theoretical analysis of the system of automobile technical maintenance and repair has been carried out. According to the nature of automobile technical maintenance and repairs two strategies are possible: the planned-preventive and the mixed type. Applying the first strategy the exact number of operations is being planned ahead, but the amount of work remains unknown. According to the second strategy the technical condition of an automobile has to be checked before starting technical maintenance and repair and only then the exact number of operations can be defined. The second strategy makes it possible to save spare parts, materials and time. This strategy, however, can be applied to the automobiles that are in good technical condition. The analysis of automobile technical maintenance and repair organization has shown that in order to improve the efficiency of automobile technical maintenance and repair the laws of mass service theory should be applied.

With the rapid development of automobile industry, the number of automobiles in China has exceeded 290 million. The increase of car ownership has promoted the development of auto repair industry to a certain extent, but it is an indisputable fact that the overall level of China’s auto repair industry is low. In recent years, the performance of automobile engines has been rapidly developed, not only the power and horsepower have been greatly improved, but also the reliability has been greatly improved, but the engine failure is still inevitable. Based on this, several common failures of automobile engines and their solutions are analyzed in this paper for reference only.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop an ontological model of failure knowledge of automobile systems that will enhance the knowledge management of automobile system failures, which will help for design and maintenance of automobiles. Failure knowledge of automobile systems and components gained through maintenance and repair can mitigate future failures, if integrated in the design. This is an outcome of this paper. Design/methodology/approach A failure coding scheme is developed for assimilating various entities of automobile failure knowledge and an ontological model is developed for its systematic structuring and representation. The developed failure code is a combination of alphanumeric and numeric code that incorporates ingredients of the failure knowledge, which will help database management, with reduced data entry time and storage space. Findings The maintenance of automobiles not only brings back the systems into operating conditions but also convey a lot of information regarding the failures. This is a useful input to the designers in development of reliable and maintainable automobile systems. A knowledge base can be created for automobile systems/components failures from their maintenance and service experience. Research limitations/implications Developed ontological model of automobile failure knowledge gained through maintenance experience can be shared across automobile manufacturers and service providers. This would help in design improvements, with ease and efficient undertaking of maintenance activities. This paper proposes the conceptual ontology structure, which is populated with three cases of automobile maintenance. Originality/value This research work is a first attempt to develop an ontological model for automobile failures from their maintenance and service experience. The novelty of the work is in its explicit consideration of all knowledge related to failures and maintenance of automobile systems, with their coding and structuring.

Abstract:
In order to increase the efficiency of the operation of motor transport enterprises, the structure of production units for maintenance and repair of cars should be determined by the scope of work, taking into account the cost of implementation of the unit labor complexity of works. In case of inappropriateness of creating or maintaining an MTE of separate production units, maintenance and repairs of cars should be carried out at specialized service centers. Therefore, with the improvement of production units of motor transport enterprises structure, it is important to provide economically expedient delivery distances for maintenance works and repair of cars by co-operation in car service companies, which provide relevant services. The determination method of economically expedient distances of cars delivery and repair fund for car service companies is given. The cost of cars delivery and repair fund for 1 km to the car service companies or other motor transport enterprises (MTE), which accounts for 1 man-hour of labor-intensive maintenance and repair is determined. The economically expedient delivery distances for maintenance and cars repair by cooperation in car service companies are determined. The results of the calculations show that for taxi-driven MTE economically appropriate in modern conditions of distance of delivery of cars to perform maintenance-1 and maintenance-2 are close to those recommended in literary sources. For truck and bus MTE the corresponding delivery distances for maintenance-1, maintenance-2 performance, ongoing repairs are significantly lower. When performing diagnostic works D-1 and D-2, most of the the district works of the ongoing repair, the economically reasonable distances of delivery to the car service companies are obtained that substantially exceed the recommendations given in the scientific literature.

Abstract:
The article deals with some criteria that substantiate the design and operational performance of automobiles running on alternative fuels; economic efficiency of operation of such vehicles, their ecological conformity; the level of complexity of the design of converted automobiles; labor intensity of their maintenance, repair, etc. ; traction-speed and other different, in comparison with the basic, properties of automobiles while working on alternative fuel (AF); energy consumption and (or) cost price of AF; efficiency of power plant and (or) car on AF; the degree of commissioning (mass production) and further prospects for the development of the design of such automobiles; state of support developed structures at the national (local) level. An expert assessment of the adopted criteria in the order of their importance is made. Along with the analysis of scores, which are presented in points, it is used the ranking method to study the results of the survey of experts. This allows applying the values of the established optimal criteria to justify the operation of vehicles during their work on the AF. The analysis of the matrix correlation shows that the numerical estimates set by the accepted criteria are characterized by a high degree of correlation, and experts are generally unanimous in assessing their importance. The most important criteria for the operation of automobiles on the AF are economic efficiency, traction and speed and other, different compared to the basic, the properties of automobiles while working on the AF. Other criteria are also quite important, the weights for them are much higher than 7%, and they also should be taken into account while conducting an in-depth analysis and synthesis of indicators of optimal operation of automobiles on the AF. In addition, it is important that the group of criteria that characterize only one type of automobile when working on the AF (for example, the degree of commissioning) experts gave only about 17% of the importance.

Abstract:
The efficiency of commercial automobiles and wheeled military vehicles mainly depends on the choice of maintenance (M) and current repair (CR) concept. In the paper the difficulties of adapting the (M) and (CR) planning strategies to the structural characteristics of modern transport facilities are pointed out. The advantages of using the (M) and (CR) random strategy for transport facilities based on the stochastic nature of failures and malfunctions are substantiated. Considering the failures and malfunctions as random values and identifying the patterns of their distribution based on γ percentage resources, it is proposed to develop a list of regulated maintenance and repair work, periodicity and labor intensity based on a random strategy, which will increase the efficiency of preserving the technical resource of the rolling stock throughout the entire life cycle of the vehicle.

Abstract:
The article substantiates the proposals that affect the need for the introduction of preventive maintenance of automotive equipment. Ensuring the operability of the car during operation is especially important for the road transport used today in the east of Ukraine. The purpose of this article is to avoid the above disadvantages, to ensure the performance of the car during operation, especially for road transport used today in the East of Ukraine, this is possible through preventive maintenance. The failure rate parameter is determined for cars that are divided into service groups depending on their operating time and service life. We will take admissible value of parameter of a stream of failures of the car as a criterion of an estimation of time of its faultless work. The lists of works on increase of reliability of the car are established for those elements of the car which, according to results of statistical research, most often lead to loss of the last working capacity. The implementation of preventive maintenance of automobiles during operation will ensure the maintenance of a given level of reliability by preventing failures by determining the residual life of the failure-free operation of vehicle systems and assigning optimal lists of additional work to increase the efficiency of system elements. An example of this is the fulfillment of the tasks of technical support of troops (forces) during an anti-terrorist operation, involving specialists from state enterprises. Such a positive experience needs to be built up and in parallel to equip cars with special devices that are not available in the repair facilities of repair units. As long as the staffing of repair units with such devices continues, it is necessary to create and send staffed teams from state enterprises to military units to carry out adjustment work not only on fire control systems, stabilizers, but also on diesel engine fuel equipment and more, especially Soviet-made equipment. The implementation of preventive maintenance of the car will allow: – reduce vehicle downtime to eliminate failures by preventing them; – reduce the number of current repairs; – reduce operating costsю. Keywords: tuning up (maintenance and repair) of motor vehicles, vehicles operability, reliability, preventive maintenance.

Abstract:
Automobile technicians popularly called roadside mechanics are technical personnels that repairs most of the automobile vehicles in Nigeria. Majority of these mechanics acquired their skills through apprenticeship training. Modern vehicle imported into the country posed greater challenges to the present roadside automobile mechanics in the area of carrying out maintenance repairs of these modern vehicles (autotronic vehicle) due to their inability to acquire autotronic skills competency. Automobile electricians are not exempted from these challenges. Therefore research is carried out in Jigawa state to ascertain the skills upgrade needed by these technicians for successful maintenance repair of the autotronic vehicles that are plying on Nigerian roads. The research conducted revealed that; majority of automobile electricians (15 out of 19) attained educational status above junior secondary school level, 16 out of 19 interviewees cannot repair autotronic vehicles due to lack of skills in the use of OBD and computerized tools. All the 19 automobile electricians interviewed from 19 different workshops across Jigawa state indicate their readiness to participate in skills upgrade training on modern automobile vehicle maintenance repairs. This indicates that there is an urgent need to upgrade skills in the maintenance of autotronic vehicles in the State. The skills upgrade training conducted by Federal Government in collaboration with SURE-P, NAC and SMEDEN was not successful because the educational status of the target population was not considered in drafting the training modules. The mode of training used does not also take cognizance of the theoretical aspect of the trainees, especially basic science which rendered the programme ineffective and insufficient for the tasks on ground.

Abstract:
Abstract: There is a definitive increase of excellence in the field of robotic automation, with automated vehicles that can drive people anywhere to automated robots that can perform high-risk surgeries remotely. Robotic automation was initiated as an industrial-grade asset capable of performing complex tasks and replacing humans limited by fatigue. With the advent and rise of Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0), in the modern world, one of the major markets that IR 4.0 occupies is the automobile industry. The automobile industry heavily employs robotic technology for vehicle manufacturing and assembly, yet post-sale servicing and maintenance remain predominantly manual. This discrepancy results in a gap in the efficient and timely maintenance of vehicles once they’re in the hands of customers. According to a report of Allied Market Research [1], the expected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of the global automobile repair and service market from 2022 - 2031 is expected at 7.6%, corresponding to 1,656.21 billion US dollars by 2031. This establishes the scale of the market that the proposed solution is going to be primarily based on. This paper proposes a MIG-based solution for providing welding service to damaged and sheared automobiles, thus reducing the stated discrepancy. The proposed solution creates a kernel environment where the twin-headed robotic arm can assess its surroundings and perform appropriate action from its operation pool using Reinforcement Learning and Machine Learning. The twin-headed robotic arm holds a torch and lead (Al) on the heads to perform the desired operations. This innovative approach is equipped with advanced sensors and programming to accurately detect, diagnose, and service vehicles by leveraging On Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems. This study delves into the theoretical and technical complexities of building an automated welder that explores the practical application of robotic technology in the automobile aftermarket. Notably, this technology promises improved accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in car maintenance, significantly reducing human error, improving service times, increasing productivity, and inducing economic growth.

Abstract:
There are three types of maintenance management policy Run-tofailure (R2F), Preventive Maintenance (PvM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM). In both R2F and PdM we have the data related to the maintenance cycle. In case of Preventive Maintenance (PvM) complete information about maintenance cycle is not available. Among these three maintenance policies, predictive Maintenance (PdM) is becoming a very important strategy as it can help us to minimize the repair time and the associated cost with it. In this paper we have proposed PdM, which allows the dynamic decision rules for the maintenance management. PdM is achieved by training the machine learning model with the datasets. It also helps in planning of maintenance schedules. We specially focused on two models that are Binary Classification and Recurrent Neural Network. In Binary Classification we classify whether our data belongs to the failure class or the non failure class. In Binary Classification the number of cycles is entered and classification model predicts whether it belongs to the failure/non failure class.

Abstract:
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in today’s world have numerous issues in ensuring the availability and safety of critical machines and their components in the working environment. As a result, SMEs considered planning and scheduling maintenance tasks to be a significant threat. The goal of this research is to identify the critical subsystem of the automobile spare parts production plant in the southern region of Tamil Nadu, India, and then to prioritize the maintenance activity and set up an architecture for autonomous preventive maintenance (PM) in SMEs that includes an optimal decision support system. The transition state diagram of the individual and simultaneous production system has been developed with the application of the Markov decision model approach. It was used to analyze the present variables of the production systems and forecast the optimal maintenance parameters such as the failure rate and the repair rate, through the production system’s availability analysis. This availability analysis reveals that system B (Piercing) is classified as the most critical because of the abrupt availability variation compared to all other production systems, concerning the corresponding maintenance parameters such as a failure rate of 0.0371, a repair rate of 0.7094, and the availability of the piercing system of 0.5056. Finally, the use of an autonomous PM management system and the most effective maintenance workforce has enhanced productivity and customer satisfaction in SMEs. The predictive maintenance management system has been further investigated to determine the real-time remaining useful life (RUL) of critical systems in the automobile spare parts manufacturing plant in the southern region of Tamil Nadu, India.

Abstract:
The experience of developed countries suggests that the capital goods industries are transmitters of technological change and are instrumental in diffusing innovations throughout the economy. Pakistan's manufacturing industries have largely been confined to consumer goods industries, such as food and textiles, which require simple technology. Industries such as machinery, automobiles, consumer durables and basic chemicals which require sophisticated technology were virtually nonexistent till the Seventies. However, output of machinery, automobiles and consumer durables registered a sharp increase during the Eighties. Capital goods industries may be initiated/promoted through any of three routes: evolutionary, policy induced and vehicle assembly. The evolutionary method to initiate capital goods production is through the formation of skilled manpower through a gradual process starting with repairs and maintenance. The policy induced method of developing the capital goods industries takes the form of creating skilled manpower through deliberate government policy. The vehicle assembly based capital goods production minimises initial skill requirements but helps in developing the skills by creating demand for components and, hence, for the skilled manpower through on-the-job-training.

In order to adapt to the change of automobile maintenance industry and improve the quality of training skilled talents, the integrated education reform of automobile maintenance specialty in technical colleges has been carried out. However, there are still some shortcomings in the implementation of the integrated education reform, which fails to fully show its advantages in the training of skilled talents. This article mainly studies the application of the integrated education mode in the automobile repair major of secondary vocational and technical schools. Firstly, starting with the basic concepts of the integrated education mode, combining with the characteristics of its implementation in the education process, it focuses on the necessity of using the integrated education mode. The increasing demand for high-quality technical talents in modern enterprises has seriously exposed the drawbacks of the traditional "instillation" education method, which focuses on storytelling. This requires teachers to attach importance to innovation and reform outdated education methods. Among them, the application of integrated education mode in the education of automotive testing and maintenance majors plays an important role in improving education quality.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to analyse the market of the environmentally friendly cars in Ukraine within the training of specialists in repairing and maintaining electric vehicles in Ukraine. Taking into consideration international trends, the prospects for their use in Ukraine are very relevant. However, the speed of the adoption of legislative decisions leads to the inhibition of this process. As a result, the infrastructure is not developing in this direction. The potential buyer of an electric vehicle pushes away the purchase of an electric vehicle due to the lack of service, since it is almost impossible to find highly skilled personnel who can service and repair electric vehicles. Therefore, the issue of the personnel support within this area remains unsolved. The content of the notions “competence” and “specialist in the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles” have been determined. A specialist of the specified profile should be an expert on the scheduled maintenance of electric vehicles; be good at certification issues, diagnostics and repair of high-voltage batteries and electronic systems, maintenance of chargers, repair of hybrid installations, etc. The educational institutions where training specialists in repairing and maintaining electric vehicle is carried out have been analyzed. There are many educational institutions which provide training in the area of “Automobile Transport”; however, the training of specialists in maintaining and repairing electric vehicles has not been not carried out within this area. A great number of unsolved issues substantiate the reason for the above said: the legislative framework, material, technical and methodological support, including the issues devoted to the training of university instructors majoring in special disciplines as well as to the internship courses intended for the teachers and masters of practical training within the system of professional (vocational) education. The curriculum on the discipline “Hybrid and electric transmission of vehicles” has been elaborated and proposed. The proposed curriculum involves the mastering of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in determining the characteristics of hybrid and electric transmission of vehicles; it can serve as a professional qualification program for training specialists in the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles in Ukraine. Keywords: electric vehicles, hybrids, specialists in the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles, competence, curriculum.

Abstract:
The problem of increasing the dependability of the engine, which is the most complex and expensive unit of an automotive vehicle, cannot be solved without objective and reliable information on the failures and malfunctions of its components, their causes, actual life, as well as the factors affecting such indicators in real operational conditions. Manufacturing factories do not always have such information, hence design deficiency failures associated with design and development flaws are among the most common causes of loss of engine operability. The aim of this paper is to study the engine operational dependability using the results of their maintenance and repair. The methods are based on operational tests of engines that yield the most complete and objective information on their dependability, as they were conducted in typical operational conditions of automobile operating companies in the course of vehicle maintenance and repair. The results of the studies processed with the standard Statistica 6.0 are represented in the form the statistical evaluations of the dependability of primary structural engine components (times to failure, changes in the probability of nofailure depending on the travelled distance). The analysis of the obtained information allows estimating the level of actual dependability of the engine, identifying design flaws, developing specific measures aiming to increase operational dependability. Information obtained during such tests is useful not only to the engine manufacturers, but to the operators as well, as it enables a scientific substantiation of the norms of operability. For the purpose of identification and localization in the process of maintenance and repair of specific engine malfunctions, the paper substantiates a set of diagnostic parameters and their standard values.Conclusions. The research allowed elaborating a set of diagnostic parameters for evaluation of the technical condition of primary engine systems (cylinder-piston group, crank and gas distributing mechanisms) that define and limit its dependability. The application of the findings in the automobile maintenance and repair processes enables a significant improvement of the engines’ operational dependability and reduction of the costs of ensuring their operability.

One of the crucial steps in car engine maintenance is cooling system testing. One of the criteria that has been used in repair workshops is the usage of a radiator tester. The radiator tester testing procedure discovered multiple instances of leakage that had gone unreported in addition to requiring specific gear. In this work, the authors provide a practical way of analysis based on temperature and pressure to check for cooling system leaks in automobiles. Several autos were used in the research's trials. The findings demonstrate that this approach is both easier and more reliable for checking for leaks.

The article discusses the technological processes of the use of geogrids in the construction and repair of subgrade in areas with low air temperatures. The calculation of the overall stability of slopes or slopes closed by geogrids as applied to areas where erosion processes are widely developed is given. Accounting processes are usually carried out in the framework of work on individual design, with scientific support. Some general recommendations on the design of structures from geogrids and calculations of their interaction with disconnected soils during cryogenic processes are described. Thermal erosion processes most dynamically develop in the northern part of Western Siberia. Especially active is thermoerosion associated with the activities of temporary streams. On the territory of the Ural Federal District, during the construction, maintenance and repair of roads in a number of sections, slopes and embankment slope surfaces are strengthened to protect against erosion and thermoerosion processes using Geoveb technology with volumetric geogrids.

Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of the results of the experimental study, during which the load was determined for the gear wheel shaft of the rear-axle gearbox of the all-terrain vehicle transmission on ultra-low pressure tires TREKOL-39041. These all-terrain vehicles have very good cross-country ability and are indispensable for off-road operation during mudslide or deep snow, but they often have transmission failures, especially the shafts on which the wheel reduction gear of both the front and rear axles are installed. In the transmission of these vehicles on the tires of ultra-low pressure, the units from a number of commercially produced vehicles were used. The use of such units reduces the cost of construction and simplifies the production technology, maintenance and repair, but also creates certain difficulties in the design of this type of ATV, in some cases, increases the weight and dimensions. The experimental data are compared with the data of other authors and with calculated data. The obtained data are compared with the experimental and calculated data on the loading of the transmission elements of the UAZ-31512 automobile, the main units of which are used in the layout diagram of the snow aerial vehicle. The results of the studies indicate that the main reason for the failure in the transmission of the snow thrower TREKOL-39041 is the operating conditions, including somewhat different from ordinary tires, the interaction of the ultra-low pressure tires with the best traction and coupling properties with the supporting surface, and a more complex transmission scheme, than for conventional all-terrain vehicles, in which the transmission is simply assembled from the units of a number of serially produced automobiles and calculations of the dynamic loading of its elements on the forced modes are not conducted, which leads to the appearance of significantly exceeding the permissible values of stresses in the splined joint of the wheel gear shaft, to its plastic deformation and failure.

Abstract:
Water is an essential resource for the functioning of society, where it is involved in key areas such as domestic use, agriculture, energy production, industry, and transport. Climate change exacerbates water scarcity. In the context of preserving water resources, effluents from the automobile sector need to be deeply considered due to their environmental impacts. This review focuses especially on the water effluents generated by car workshops. In car workshops, daily floor washing waters containing organic pollutants, either from vehicle components or from products used for maintenance and repair, can represent large volumes of water (between 15 L and 50 L per day) that are discharged into the wastewater system. These particular industrial organic effluents are not well characterized and can represent severe environmental risks. The aim of this review is to help automotive maintenance and repair professionals better manage these industrial organic effluents. We first describe the potential sources of organic pollution emissions in car workshops with the purpose of identifying the organic compounds to be monitored as a priority in the wash water. Then, we apply a risk prevention management tool, based on the criticality matrix, to identify products with a high risk of leaking onto the ground in order to limit organic pollutants at the source.

Abstract:
Technical state of electrical fuel-injection pumps of automobiles with petrol engines was evaluated with application of a multiple factor experiment, based on diagnostics test modes. There exist two main problems in the fuel system, connected with the fuel volume being injected into the fuel rail: clogging when the fuel flow to the rail and next to nozzles is hindered, wear out of elements in the pump part (due to an increasing clearance space between fuel-injection pump pulleys and casing the fuel flows over the tank, i.e., does not enter the system in sufficient volume). The studies showed that in the first case of fuel system problems the pump power circuit draws the current 4,6 А persistently depending on clogging extent. Such current rate is necessary for keeping high rotations of the pump elements, helping the pump to push through the necessary fuel volume into the fuel rail, making the essential pressure 310 кПа. In the second case the fuel does not enter the rail in sufficient amount either, but the current rate here is small (even smaller than the nominal reading). For example, in the largest fuel leakage it equals 2,5 A, power voltage being 12,5 V. The results and methods of experimental data treatment with MathCAD application are presented. The article materials are applicable for research, repair, technical maintenance organizations when they estimate technical state of fuel-injection low-pressure pumps ( including those which are installed on engines with microprocessor control system).

Abstract:
In the recent trends, production plants in the automobile industries all over the world are facing a lot of challenges to achieve better productivity and customer satisfaction due to increasing the passenger’s necessity and demand for transportation. In this direction, the belt, tyre, and tube manufacturing plants act as vital roles in the day-to-day life of the automobile industries. Tyre production plant comprises five major units, namely, raw material selection, preparation, tyre components, finishing, and inspection. The main purpose of this research is to implement the new method to predict the most critical subsystems in the tyre manufacturing system of the rubber industry. As mathematically, any one maintenance parameter among reliability, availability, maintainability, and dependability (RAMD) parameters is evaluated to identify the critical subsystems and their effect on the effectiveness of the tyre production system. In this research, the effect of variation in maintenance indices, RAMD, is measured to identify the critical subsystem of the tyre production system based on the mathematical modeling Markov birth-death approach (MBDA), and the equations of the subsystems are derived by using the Chapman–Kolmogorov method. Besides, it also calculates the performance of certain maintenance parameters concerning time such as mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and dependability ratio for each subsystem of the tyre production system. Finally, RAMD analysis of the tyre production systems has been executed for predicting the most critical subsystem by changing the rates of failure and repair of individual subsystems with the utilization of MATLAB software. RAMD analysis reveals that the subsystem bias cutting is most critical with the minimum availability of 0.8387, dependability 5.19, dependability ratio 0.8701, and maximum MTTR 38.46 hours of the subsystem. In this implementation of the proposed method, a real-time case study of the industrial repairable system of tyre manufacturing system has been taken for evaluating RAMD indices of the production plant of rubber industry cited in the southern region of Tamil Nadu, India.

Abstract:
Purpose. The work is aimed to analyze the components of the target function of reducing costs for the operation and maintenance of motor vehicles (buses) and determine the optimal periodicity of planned repairs. Methodology. The research was carried out using general scientific methods: analysis and synthesis, abstraction and concretization, induction and deduction, system analysis. Findings. In order to estimate reserves for improving the efficiency of rolling stock, the target function of minimizing costs (losses) during the operation of motor vehicles using the example of buses is given, which includes two aggregated component costs for planned activities after maintenance of motor vehicles and resources used to eliminate the consequences of unplanned repairs, including losses caused by them. Exponential dependencies of the number of unplanned repairs per calendar year of operation of motor vehicles obtained as a result of processing an array of statistical data on the enterprise are presented. It was found that one of the ways to improve the efficiency of the rolling stock of the motor vehicle enterprise is to reduce downtime due to current unplanned repairs. For this purpose, it is proposed to carry out planned repairs of each moving unit of motor vehicles. The graphical dependence of the number of unscheduled repairs on the amount of bus mileage between repairs is shown for a specific motor vehicle enterprise. Calculations of the components of the target function of increasing the use efficiency of buses were performed, and the optimal inter-repair mileage for carrying out planned repairs during the calendar year was determined graphically. The economic component of increasing the efficiency of use of the rolling stock of the automobile enterprise is substantiated – the lack of income from unfulfilled transport work, which is characterized by the average load of motor vehicles. Using the example of buses, it was found that the average load is directly proportional to the number of transported passengers and inversely proportional to the mileage along the route. Originality. All components of the target function of minimizing the total costs of planned activities after technical maintenance and resources of unplanned repairs, including losses (damages) from downtime, are thoroughly considered. Practical value. The results of the performed research can be used by motor transport companies to determine the optimal intervals between repairs. Carrying out planned repairs of each motor vehicle will make it possible to reduce losses from idle time and increase the use efficiency of rolling stock as a whole.

Abstract:
The article considers the analysis of production indicators of oil and gas production departments with the aim of clustering them for the subsequent determination of the need for automobiles and technological machines. The departments have different sizes, power, are in different conditions, are characterized by different performance indicators, but at the same time they are equipped with vehicles according to the same standards. This leads to problems in ensuring the uninterrupted transport and technological service of the main production. In a number of departments, situations arise when the planned number of transport and technological machines is not enough to perform technological operations for the repair or maintenance of wells. In this case, vehicles are sent from another sub-division, thereby limiting their own transport service capabilities. Fleet planning often takes place taking into account the historical conditions of the department, which is generally applicable for old departments with an established well stock, but practically does not work for newly formed departments with large volumes of newly commissioned wells and complicated production conditions. These subdivisions are equipped with vehicles in relation to existing workshops with similar indicators, which most often leads to an insufficient number of machines and downtime of the main production due to lack of machines. In this regard, it is necessary to search for and justify those production indicators of departments that determine their differentiation. The aim of the paper is to increase the efficiency of transport and technological service of oil and gas production facilities based on determining the patterns of influence of production indicators of production and gas shops on the need for transport and technological machines and developing, on this basis, differentiated standards for equipping units with vehicles. Using machine learning methods, the clustering of production units was carried out, and the factors that determine the distribution of departments into four groups were identified. The main factors include the stock of wells in the department and the degree of complexity of this stock. Groups are determined by the degree of change in these factors. The presented approach and the resulting distribution can be used as a basis for more efficient standardization of the needs of departments in automobiles and technological machines and also as part of decision support systems for vehicle fleet management.

Abstract:
In an automobile engine, the heat transfer cannot be possible without cooling system support. The cooling system has a great importance in the engines. It coolants overheat of the engine, and prevents it from breakdown, that's why a highly reliable cooling system is the necessity of every engine but there are many failure issues with a cooling system which are time dependent. This paper investigates the performance of a water cooling system with the consideration of their significant components by taking the attention of three types of time dependent failure issues while the water cooling system is maintained by the sufficient repair facility. It is obvious that in the lack of maintenance, failure issues in water cooling system lead with the increment of time. Maintenance and operating costs of water cooling system affect the economy of overall engine very much, so, it is necessary to be aware about overheating of engines during peak ambient conditions when it is operated with full capacity. Hence, a Mathematical model of water cooling system is proposed by using the Markov process and supplementary variable technique.

Purpose. The large number of armored vehicles offered in Ukraine significantly complicates the choice of such equipment for equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These cars are designed and manufactured on a variety of ag-gregate bases, often owned by manufacturers in other countries, which is not always acceptable to the military. In addi-tion, the variety of designs leads to deterioration of unification and interchangeability of motor vehicles, which can lead to significant obstacles to quality and timely maintenance of military armored vehicles, their repair and modernization in real operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Methodology. To solve the problem, an analysis of the features and evaluation of the effectiveness of the operation of armored vehicles, which are manufactured by factories of different countries for armed military units. Mathematical modeling methods were used to assess the efficiency of armored vehi-cles, including the specific fuel consumption per person transported and the ton of cargo transported, as well as speed criteria allows consumers of armored vehicles, which are the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to make an informed choice in favor of purchase another car with a large number of them, offered by numerous manufacturers of such products. Re-sults. It is established that Kremenchug Automobile Plant is the only car manufacturer in Ukraine that provides the full life cycle of cars from their development and manufacture to warranty and service support during operation. In addition, Kremenchug Automobile Plant has its own service and maintenance service, which reduces downtime of equipment manufactured by the plant, when performing repair or maintenance of cars in the units under the conditions of their op-eration. Operation of cars of the Kremenchug Automobile Plant, especially KrAZ «Hulk», taking into account their greater load and the number of personnel of military units that can be transported, according to specific indicators per person transported or ton of transported cargo, which is what the end user needs, it turns out more profitable from an economic point of view. Abstract:
Abstract Vehicle population is increasing at an alarming rate causing cities, and towns to suffer air pollution due to inefficient engines. Every year millions of vehicles are being manufactured and scrapped. Disposal or scrapping of vehicles before their useful life is not a good option. All the parts and systems of a vehicle wear out at different rates. By employing this technology of retrofit for the next 10 to 15 years, the owners will be able to contribute to society by decreasing input energy for massive automobile industries. Based on the life span of automobile parts a range of age has been found in this research at which retrofit can be carried out. In this research, cost analysis of vehicles has been carried out which shows a decrease in performance with increased maintenance, repair, and replacement cost. A mathematical model has been created for performance and cost. The minima of this mathematical model are known as retrofit age. It has been shown in this research that the time has come to adopt this technology, due to inadequate recycling of automobile parts, limited processing plants, and limited scraps yard. For this study, Honda Activa 5G, Bajaj pulsar 500, and Maruti Baleno has been considered.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the development of a system for ensuring the efficiency of ECM through the introduction of diagnostics of its technical condition into the technological processes of servicing and repairing vehicles. In order to create such a system, we performed studies on the operational reliability of the structural elements of the ECU, the effect of their failures on the engine operating parameters, and the substantiation of diagnostic parameters evaluating the technical condition of the system. The object of the research is the electronic control system M86, installed on domestic LADA VESTA automobiles (VAZ-21179 engine). According to the results of the research, the average operating time of the structural elements of the ECM to failure and the reasons for their occurrence were established. Authors imitated the failure of each ECM elements by turning it off and using the appropriate equipment to measure selected parameters of engine operation. The most significant influence on the operation of the engine is caused by failure of fuel pump, ECU and crankshaft position sensor. The failure of this elements causes the complete loss of engine performance as fuel supply to the cylinders stops. In case of failure of other elements of ECM the engine performance is maintained, but its operating capabilities significantly decrease. To ensure the required level of reliability of the ECM, it is necessary at regular intervals to maintain the vehicles to diagnose the technical condition of its elements at automobile service enterprises. In this paper, it is recommended to split the ECM into three subsystems, each of which is evaluated by one complex diagnostic parameter reflecting the technical condition of the structural elements included there. The deviation of the parameters beyond the tolerance limits caused by the occurrence of faults serves as the basis for deciding whether to conduct the necessary technical actions. Diagnostics of the ECM subsystems is carried out in accordance with the developed algorithms that establish a rational sequence of control, adjustment and other operations to identify and eliminate damages arising in the process of operation. As an example, the article presents an algorithm for diagnosing the fuel supply subsystem and reducing the toxicity of exhaust gases. The developments proposed in the article were tested and introduced into the technological processes of maintenance and automobile repairs of the LADA dealership center in the city of Vladimir.
