The container structures consisting of the core made of layered molybdenum oxide intercalated with 3-amono-1,2,4-triazole (it behaves as the corrosion inhibitor) capped with the shell made of polymerized tungsten oxide were synthesized employing the polycondensation of oxocompounds. It is shown that in the acid (pH < 5.5) and alkali (pH > 8.5) media, the coating continuity appears to be broken reversibly, which facilitates the emission of the encapsulated compounds from the containers. From the perspective of improving the self-healing method in construction, a tubular healing fiber was adopted as a container to improve the encapsulation capacity, which was available using a micro-capsule as a container. Knowing the direction of the stresses to which structure members are subjected, this research investigated the influence of aligning tubular healing fibers parallel to intended stress into a cementitious composite to increase the self-healing capability. For that, a healing agent was encapsulated into a tubular healing fiber made with polyvinylidene of fluoride resin (PVDF).

Although it shares liberalism's commitment to individual autonomy and Marxism's commitment to social justice, anarchism claims that it can implement those principles more fully and effectively without utilizing the mechanism of the state. AbstractAn overlay of digital networks and services often operated by global players encircles and “shrinks” the planet. At the same time, the geopolitical dynamics have entered a cycle of feud for leadership between trade blocs who compete for economic and industrial leadership but also on ethics, values, and political outlook. In this context, governments and lawmakers are struggling to combine the need for global cooperation in digital matters with the imperative to protect their jurisdiction from undue influence and provide economic agents with the means to compete on a global scale. The concept of “digital sovereignty” was carved to address this. Words matter a lot especially when they are meant to translate political goals. We argue that “digital sovereignty” lacks meaning and teeth, while the concept of “strategic autonomy” is more operative, contains in itself the elements of strategic planning, and should lead EU to aim at genuine “digital non-alignment.”

The authors demonstrate that, in accordance with the previous case law of the European Court of Justice/Court of Justice of the European Union, the concepts contained in EU directives should be interpreted in accordance with EU law, taking into account its autonomy and its aim (harmonization of legal systems of Member States). This should be applied even if a simple translation of a particular term used in an EU directive into the language of a Member State may give rise to an incentive for that term to be interpreted in the context of a local legal system.

Abstract:
AbstractOne of the key roles of culture is to shape how human groups pursue personal and collective wellbeing, and thus each culture contains prescriptions and customs about how to achieve optimal functioning and wellbeing. This chapter identifies four fundamental differences in the conceptualizations of mental wellbeing across cultures. The identified differences are in the centrality of hedonic experience, self-enhancement, autonomy, and the relevance of contextual factors in determining wellbeing. These overlapping dynamics provide a framework for categorizing and making sense of existing cross-cultural findings on mental wellbeing. The chapter discusses the theoretical and empirical implications of the reviewed cross-cultural findings for international measurements of wellbeing. We argue that various measures of wellbeing may function differently in different global regions, with crucial implications for how countries are ranked based on wellbeing. Our review also highlights the relevance of cross-cultural variations in the concepts of wellbeing for designing interventions and policies and evaluating their effectiveness across cultures.
