Abstract:
The concentrations of fifteen metals (Mg, Na, Ca, K, Se, Zn, Mn, Fe, Pb, Cr, Cu, Cd, Sb, Ni, Co) were determined in water from ten artesian wells (AW) in Semberija to obtain a general metal profile of water in this region. Principal components analysis (PCA) was used in this classification. Using principal component analysis two factors controlling the metal variability were obtained, which accounted for nearly 71.5% of the total variance. Natural (lithogenic) factor is represented by PC1, while anthropogenic factor is represented by PC2. PC1 with high contribution of Mn, Mg, Na, K, Ca, Zn and Se accounting for 41.84% of the total variance, while PC2 exhibits high loading for Cd, Ni, Sb, Cr and Pb (29.66%). Three general areas (clusters) with different metal characteristics were detected. Water from artesian wells in first cluster (AW1, AW2, AW3, AW4, AW5 and AW6) had much higher metal concentration compared with those in the second (AW7, AW8 and AW9) and third cluster (AW10). That is as a result of anthropogenic inputs. Also, the analysis of water demonstrated slightly elevated values for Mn (concentrations up to 0.176 mg/L), while concentrations of the other investigated elements are below the values recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA).

Abstract:
Offshore wind and wave energy potentials are commonly simulated by atmosphere and wave stand-alone models, in which the Atmosphere–Wave–Ocean (AWO) dynamical coupling processes are neglected. Based on four experiments (simulated by UU-CM, Uppsala University-Coupled model) with four different coupling configurations between atmosphere, waves, and ocean, we found that the simulations of the wind power density (WPD) and wave potential energy (WPE) are sensitive to the AWO interaction processes over the North and Baltic Seas; in particular, to the atmosphere–ocean coupling processes. Adding all coupling processes can change more than 25% of the WPE but only less than 5% of the WPD in four chosen coastal areas. The impact of the AWO coupling processes on the WPE and WPD changes significantly with the distance off the shoreline, and the influences vary with regions. From the simulations used in this study, we conclude that the AWO coupling processes should be considered in the simulation of WPE and WPD.

Abstract:
Aims: In the present study, we investigate the photocatalytic properties of α-Ag2WO4 nanocrystals- modified Palygorskite (PAL) clay synthesized by the impregnation method. The PAL clay was chemically purified and heat-treated (500 ºC for 2 h), which served as an excellent supporting matrix for loading α-Ag2WO4 (α-AWO) nanocrystals. Background: Water contamination is one of the most serious problems affecting human health, ecosystem survival, and the economic growth of societies. Industrial effluents, such as textile dyes, when not treated and improperly discharged into water resources are considered the main cause of water pollution. Thus the scientific community has been developing effective remediation technologies based on advanced oxidative processes to reduce the harmful effects of these organic pollutants. Objective: This study aimed to improve the photocatalytic activity of PAL clay with α-AWO nanocrystals to degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye. Methods: We purify and heat-treated the PAL clay, synthesize nanocrystals ofα-AWO nanocrystals and modify PAL clay with 30% α-AWO nanocrystals by the impregnation method. The modified PAL clay was able to improve RhB dye degradation. The materials were characterized by XRD, RAMAN,FE-SEM, FT-IR, XRF, etc. The samples were used as photocatalysts under UV-C lamps for the degradation of RhB dye in order to analyze its catalytic performances. Results: The PAL clay modified with 30% α-AWO nanocrystals showed a catalytic efficiency of 79%, and degradation kinetics about 16 times higher when compared to PAL-500 only purified and heat-treated at 500 ºC. In this way, this PAL-modified is an alternative as a low-cost photocatalyst for the degradation of RhB dye. Conclusion: Ultraviolet-visible spectra revealed that our materials have optical band gap energies controlled by indirect and direct electronic transitions and suitable to be activated under ultraviolet illumination. The adequate amount (30 wt.%) of α-Ag2WO4 nanocrystals added to PAL brought significant improvement in the photocatalytic activity for the degradation of rhodamine B. Finally, a photocatalytic mechanism was proposed in detail.

Abstract:
Effects of crystal structures on dielectric properties of ATiO 3 (trigonal ilmenite), ATa 2 O 6 (tetragonal tri-rutile) and AWO 4 (monoclinic wolframite) (A = Ni, Mg, Co) ceramics with A- and B-site oxygen octahedra were investigated at microwave frequencies. The dielectric constant (K) of the specimens was affected by the dielectric polarizabilities of composition and cation bond valence between octahedral cation and oxygen ion per molar volume (V m ). The quality factor (Qf) of ATiO 3 was appreciably larger than those of ATa 2 O 6 and AWO 4 due to the different sharing types of oxygen octahedra. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) of the specimens was dependent on the octahedral distortion per V m .

Abstract:
To study the effects of airway obstruction (AWO) and arousal on coronary blood flow, mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate, pigs were chronically instrumented with arterial catheters, Doppler flow probes on the left circumflex coronary artery, and electrodes for determination of sleep stages. A modified tracheostomy tube was placed in the trachea to obstruct the upper airway during sleep sessions. In control studies, during non-rapid-eye-movement (NREM) sleep, MAP was 84 +/- 2 mmHg before AWO and increased by 5 +/- 2 mmHg on arousal. MAP was lower during rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep (62 +/- 2 mmHg), and the increase on arousal was fourfold greater (22 +/- 2 mmHg). Heart rate was similar in both sleep stages (NREM: 120 +/- 4 beats/min; REM: 124 +/- 5 beats/min) and increased significantly on arousal (NREM: 12 +/- 2 beats/min; REM: 18 +/- 1 beats/min). Coronary blood flow was similar during both stages (NREM: 43 +/- 4 ml/min; REM: 46 +/- 8 ml/min) and increased by 12–15% on arousal. Coronary vascular resistance index increased significantly by 24% on arousal from AWO during REM sleep. All increases and decreases were significant at P < 0.05. Receptor blockade studies were performed to assess alpha-adrenergic receptor involvement.

Abstract:
The aircraft design is required to carry out the functions of the Design Organization Approval (DOA), in which there are several positions involved, namely Design Engineer (DE), Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) and Airworthiness Officer (AWO). In the process, DE makes aircraft designs, CVE will correct the designs that have been made, and AWO will make corrections based on document writing standards. The current problem is that the document checking process takes a long time and requires excessive costs for the use of paper and ink. The solution to solve this problem is by building a web-based system. The system was built using the CodeIgniter framework and PostgreSQL as its database. As for the development of the system itself using the Prototype method. Through this system, the DOA function process will be faster and paperless.
