Abstract:
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is a widely used platform for storing large biomedical datasets. Unintended data alterations can occur during data writing and transmission, altering the original content and generating unexpected results. However, no open-source and easy-to-use tool exists to verify end-to-end data integrity. Here, we present aws-s3-integrity-check, a user-friendly, lightweight, and reliable bash tool to verify the integrity of a dataset stored in an Amazon S3 bucket. Using this tool, we only needed ∼114 min to verify the integrity of 1,045 records ranging between 5 bytes and 10 gigabytes and occupying ∼935 gigabytes of the Amazon S3 cloud. Our aws-s3-integrity-check tool also provides file-by-file on-screen and log-file-based information about the status of each integrity check. To our knowledge, this tool is the only open-source one that allows verifying the integrity of a dataset uploaded to the Amazon S3 Storage quickly, reliably, and efficiently. The tool is freely available for download and use at https://github.com/SoniaRuiz/aws-s3-integrity-check and https://hub.docker.com/r/soniaruiz/aws-s3-integrity-check.

Abstract:
IoT devices connected to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud use the loT interface and the MQTT protocol for communication purposes. In addition to these basic communication tools, AWS has developed specialized services for transmitting telemetry data from smart devices. Firehose allows you to upload data directly to the AWS S3 data warehouse (cloud-specific file system). Kinesis service is even more powerful; it enables the user to build back-end data logic, which is automatically applied when data arrives. Also, Kinesis allows running analytics of the telemetry data using artificial intelligence techniques to discover hidden trends and consistent patterns. This article describes how to set up an IoT device using the AWS C++ SDK so that telemetry data it generates is processed by Kinesis services. The firmware of the device connects to the AWS provider using the SDK APIs and sends telemetry data as Kinesis service data packets; a Kinesis lambda function is created on the server side in the cloud to store the received data in S3 storage and send the data to the DynamoDB database after processing. Using Kinesis services allows the user to utilize all power tools provided by the AWS framework for processing and analyzing their data (Amazon constantly develops and enhances this set of tools).

Abstract:
Businesses often encounter difficulties in accurately categorizing advertisements based on their content, which leads to inefficiencies in targeted marketing and data analysis. An automated system is needed to detect the type of advertisement (e.g., food, beverage, clothing, etc.) from the submitted text. This paper aims to develop an automated system leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) to categorize advertisement types based on text input. We employed Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in developing the automated system due to the significant performance of CNNs leveraging AWS. The solution aims to boost marketing efficiency and strengthen data analysis capabilities. To achieve this, we utilize Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), AWS Lambda, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon CloudFront, and AWS Web Application Firewall (AWS WAF). Moreover, we follow some procedural steps in executing the task by uploading the advertisement text to an S3 bucket, which triggers a Lambda function that forwards the text to Amazon Comprehend for analysis, and the results are stored in DynamoDB, from where the results notification is sent to the user. Magazine image datasets were employed as test datasets for this approach. This work enables automatic advertisement categorization, enhanced marketing effectiveness, better data analysis and reporting functionality, an affordable solution using AWS services, and instant feedback for users. The AWS-based architecture provides a dependable solution for the automatic identification of advertisement types. By leveraging various AWS services, the system ensures efficiency, precision, and scalability, ultimately enhancing marketing strategies and data management.

Abstract:
AWS Glue is Amazon's serverless data integration cloud service that makes it simple and cost effective to extract, clean, enrich, load, and organize data. Originally launched in August 2017, AWS Glue began as an extract-transform-load (ETL) service designed to relieve developers and data engineers of the undifferentiated heavy lifting needed to load databases, data warehouses, and build data lakes on Amazon S3. Since then, it has evolved to serve a larger audience including ETL specialists and data scientists, and includes a broader suite of data integration capabilities. Today, hundreds of thousands of customers use AWS Glue every month. In this paper, we describe the use cases and challenges cloud customers face in preparing data for analytics and the tenets we chose to drive Glue's design. We chose early on to focus on ease-of-use, scale, and extensibility. At its core, Glue offers serverless Apache Spark and Python engines backed by a purpose-built resource manager for fast startup and auto-scaling. In Spark, it offers a new data structure --- DynamicFrames --- for manipulating messy schema-free semi-structured data such as event logs, a variety of transformations and tooling to simplify data preparation, and a new shuffle plugin to offload to cloud storage. It also includes a Hivemetastore compatible Data Catalog with Glue crawlers to build and manage metadata, e.g. for data lakes on Amazon S3. Finally, Glue Studio is its visual interface for authoring Spark and Python-based ETL jobs. We describe the innovations that differentiate AWS Glue and drive its popularity and how it has evolved over the years.

Abstract:
One of the most important features of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud is that the program can be run and accessed from any location. You can access and monitor the result of the program from any location, saving many images and allowing for faster computation. This work proposes a face detection classification model based on AWS cloud aiming to classify the faces into two classes: a non-permission class, and a permission class, by training the real data set collected from our cameras. The proposed Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) cloud-based system was used to share computational resources for Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to reduce redundant computation. The test system uses Internet of Things (IoT) services through our cameras system to capture the images and upload them to the Amazon Simple Storage Service (AWS S3) cloud. Then two detectors were running, Haar cascade and multitask cascaded convolutional neural networks (MTCNN), at the Amazon Elastic Compute (AWS EC2) cloud, after that the output results of these two detectors are compared using accuracy and execution time. Then the classified non-permission images are uploaded to the AWS S3 cloud. The validation accuracy of the offline augmentation face detection classification model reached 98.81%, and the loss and mean square error were decreased to 0.0176 and 0.0064, respectively. The execution time of all AWS cloud systems for one image when using Haar cascade and MTCNN detectors reached three and seven seconds, respectively.

Abstract:
The paper discusses the results of a study which extracts meaningful insights from vast amounts of unstructured text has become critical for businesses and organizations. Sentiment analysis, a Natural Language Processing (NLP) technique, is used to determine whether a piece of text conveys positive, negative, or neutral sentiment. By leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as Amazon Comprehend for language processing, AWS Lambda for serverless execution, and Amazon S3 for data storage, the system can process large datasets efficiently. This feedback can guide the development of new products or improvements to existing ones, aligning them more closely with customer preferences. The dataset includes a sample of 10,000 tweets, pre-processed to remove noise and irrelevant content. The results indicate that while deep learning models, particularly Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, outperform traditional methods in terms of accuracy, challenges remain in dealing with sarcasm and ambiguous language. The findings suggest that sentiment analysis can be a valuable tool for understanding public sentiment in real-time, with potential applications in marketing, political analysis, and customer feedback systems. However, improvements in model handling of contextual nuances are needed for more precise sentiment classification. Keywords – Amazon Web Service (AWS), Sentiment Analysis, Hidden emotions

Abstract:
As enterprises increasingly rely on cloud services for scalable data processing, optimizing cost and efficiency in handling large datasets has become a priority. This paper explores the use of AWS Lambda for large-scale batch processing of call center transcripts, where data is stored in partitioned S3 buckets. We design a fault-tolerant and cost-effective architecture that leverages Lambda functions to process these datasets during off-peak hours, taking advantage of AWS’s pay-as-you-go pricing model. Our approach includes a retry logic for handling failures, ensuring the robustness of the system. The processed data, comprising AI-generated call transcripts, is saved back to S3. Through extensive experimentation, we demonstrate the efficiency of our method in terms of both cost and performance, making it a viable solution for large-scale data processing tasks in cloud environments.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This paper consists of four major sections: The first section is a literature review of cloud computing and a cost model. The next section focuses on detailed overviews of cloud computing and its levels of services: SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. Major cloud computing providers are introduced, including Amazon Web Services (AWS),<br />Microsoft Azure, and Google App Engine. Finally, case studies of implementing web applications on IaaS and PaaS using AWS, Linode and Google AppEngine are demonstrated. Justifications of running on an IaaS provider (AWS) and running on a PaaS provider (Google AppEngine) are described. The last section discusses costs and technology analysis comparing cloud computing with local managed storage and servers. The total costs of ownership (TCO) of an AWS small instance are significantly<br />lower, but the TCO of a typical 10TB space in Amazon S3 are<br />significantly higher. Since Amazon offers lower storage pricing for huge amounts of data, the TCO might be lower. Readers should do their own analysis on the TCOs.

Abstract:
In real-time communication systems, which must have minimal latency and great availability to preserve a perfect user experience, fault tolerance is essentially indispensable. On such platforms, system failures—such as network interruptions or service unavailability—may greatly affect user happiness and cause disturbance of communication. This paper explores fault tolerance methods enabled on real-time communication platforms with AWS capabilities. By use of retry rules, multi-region deployments, circuit breakers, and event-driven architectures, AWS services provide robust means of control over failures. Key services AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Amazon S3, and CloudWatch help one to reach fault isolation, failover recovery, and system resilience. Aiming for cost-performance trade-offs, the study of various approaches shows how well they reduce downtime, maintain performance, and enable scalability. This work illustrates how cloud-native technologies could improve fault tolerance in real-time systems, therefore providing a paradigm for developing powerful communication platforms.

The Scrum Console Platform facilitates the collaboration of various members of a team to manage projects together. The Scrum Console Platform has been developed using JSP, Hibernate & Oracle 12c Enterprise Edition Database. The Platform is deployed as a web application on AWS Elastic Beanstalk which automates the deployment, management and monitoring of the application while relying on the underlying AWS resources such EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, autoscaling, etc.

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a system using Blockchain technology to create a decentralized, secure, and scalable migration records of individuals. We try to utilize Ethereum Blockchain and Proof of Work as the consensus algorithm. We attempt to mitigate the process of illegal immigration by keeping immutable and unique record of state of migration as well as personal information of an individual to check their authenticity. The AWS S3 service has been used to store the official documents of each individual securely, while still maintaining transparency. The proposed system will not only help to check for unlawful immigration but will also allow to check if an individual has successfully reached the intended destination. Also, the storage system will help keep the original documents of every individual in a cloud based storage solution.

Abstract:
This paper presents a study on "Machine Learning for Weather Prediction and Air Quality Index Estimation," aimed at enhancing weather forecasting and air quality monitoring. Integrating historical weather data with real-time atmospheric measurements from the OpenWeather API, the study utilizes the Random Forest Machine Learning algorithm to construct predictive models. Backend operations are managed by a Django application on AWS EC2, supported by Nginx as a reverse proxy. The frontend, a ReactJS-based web app hosted on AWS S3 and distributed via CloudFront, offers an intuitive interface. Additionally, a dedicated mobile app extends the system's reach, delivering real-time updates on weather conditions and air quality. This comprehensive approach empowers users with precise insights for informed decision-making and environmental awareness.
