Abstract:
The interactions of a Spanish football team of the Second A (10 official games) are analyzed, evaluating possible behavioral patterns that appear in a regular way in high level football. Observational methodology was used, by Polar Coordinates Analysis, to discover and evaluate the relationships generated between a considered focal behavior and the different conditioned categories, describing behavioral masses among the players. The matches were observed and recorded with an ad hoc observation instrument. The relations of dual character between the players taken as (focal behaviors) right midfielder and forward and the other players (conditioned conducts) were analyzed. The results show differences in the relationship established based on the outcome of the match. Matches that end with a favorable result, the right midfielder takes center stage, as a node of intermediation between the right centre back, left center back, left midfielder, and second striker. In these, the forward is clear receiver in the actions of completion. With the result of the unfavorable match, the connection networks change, generating a network of reciprocal interaction wider and different between the aforementioned player, right midfielder and the rest of the components, with special relation in the players that occupy the right back, left back, right centre back, right winger, left winger, second striker and forward. In these games the striker acquires a role of greater collaboration in the creation in offensive phases, participating as a node in the game network with intermediation functions. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Using fully GPU N-body simulations, we demonstrate for the first time that subhaloes sink and transfer energy via dynamical friction into the centres of dwarf galaxies. This dynamical heating kicks any central massive black hole out to tens of parsecs, especially at early epochs (z = 1.5–3). This mechanism helps explain the observed off-centre black holes (BHs) in dwarf galaxies and also predicts that off-centre BHs are more common in higher mass dwarf galaxies since dynamical friction becomes significantly weaker and BHs take more time to sink back towards the centres of their host galaxies. One consequence of off-centre BHs during early epochs of dwarf galaxies is to quench any BH feedback.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Health-related absenteeism impacts individuals, companies, and society. Its consequences are reflected in the cost of benefits, substitutes, and reduced productivity. Research shows that musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the most common work-related health problem reported by hospital staff. This study determines the groups at the Ljubljana University Medical Centre that are most susceptible to MSDs, especially low back pain. Methods Using data from the Health Data Centre of the Slovenian National Public Health Institute and the medical centre, this cross-sectional study analysed absenteeism among medical centre employees. The correlation between MSD / low-back pain risk factors and incidence was determined using logistic regression. An odds ratio was calculated to determine the probability of MSDs, most especially low back pain via sex, age, occupation, and education. Results Sick leave at the medical centre is higher than 5%, exceeding the Slovenian healthcare sector average. MSDs, as the main reason for absence, is significantly more frequent in women, non-medical staff, and employees with a maximum secondary school education. Among the MSDs, low back pain predominates as a reason for absence and is most frequent among nurses, midwives, and employees of 20 to 44.9 years old. Conclusion This study offers insight into the health status of medical centre employees. The high percentage of sick leave is mainly due to musculoskeletal disorders, including low back pain. This is an important basis for further monitoring and analysis of sick leave indicators and for planning systematic and continuous workplace health-promoting measures to manage ergonomic risk factors and reduce health-related absenteeism.

Abstract:
At one time the study of politics centred on the state but for much of this century the emphasis has been on political behaviour and policy-making with governmental decisions explained as a response to societal forces. In the last decade or so, state-centric theorists have sought to bring the state back, arguing that it is more autonomous than society-centred theorists have suggested. I record the retreat of the state in the Anglo-American study of politics and the related rise of a particular kind of political science, going on to outline the more recent growth of a ‘new institutionalism’ which places the state at the very centre of political science. Bringing the state back in to the study of British politics must necessarily involve bringing the constitution back in but in ways that avoid the limitations of the constitutional approach and a narrow legalism.

In a country that struggles on safety standards and relying heavily on manual labour, Malaysia over the decade had to be very objective in defining work- relatedness among musculoskeletal disorder cases especially chronic low back pain. The BACKS questionnaire was a proposed Back Apparatus; a Collaboration between National University of Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC) with Malaysian Social Security Organization (SOCSO) to assist in determining occupational chronic back pain. In the questionnaire, chronic back pain was defined as minimal cumulative back pain for more than 2 weeks in the past year, Pain Visual Analog Score above 2 cm and Oswestry Disability Index of above 20%. Based on the SOCSO registry from 2008 to 2010, 428 (56.3%) workers of 760 workers with back pain agreed and met the requirements of our study. According to the standards of the Medical Board, the BACKS Tool reported a sensitivity of 62.7%, specificity of 94.5%, positive- predictive value (PPV) of 92.9% and negative- predictive value (NPV) of 69.0% with moderate agreement as Kappa value was 0.56. The BACKS Tool served as a complementary assessment along with visits to the workplace that has its advantages when one would to conduct a self- administered assessment of their workplace by safety and health officers, organizations with limited funding.

In this study, an actual 20 MW data centre project was analysed to evaluate the thermal performance of an IT server room during a cooling system outage under six fault conditions. In addition, a method of organizing and systematically managing operational stability and energy efficiency verification was identified for data centre construction in accordance with the commissioning process. It is essential to understand the operational characteristics of data centres and design optimal cooling systems to ensure the reliability of high-density data centres. In particular, it is necessary to consider these physical results and to perform an integrated review of the time required for emergency cooling equipment to operate as well as the back-up system availability time.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the activities of the Ostrogorski Centre as one of the most active Belarusian organizations in the UK nowadays. The research is based on the analysis of the publications taken from The Journal of Byelorus-sian Studies and the course «The Grand Duchy of Lithuania in European and Belarusian History» offered by Ostrogorski Academy. The history of the Journal of Byelorussian Studies dates back to the mid-1960s. The journal was initiated by the Anglo-Belarusian Society. The first issue of the Yearbook was published in 1965. The journal as a whole tended towards a philological (linguistic) orientation. The General theme of articles on histori-cal Belarusian topics in the journal was firstly of random, fragmentary charac-ter, without a common editorial purpose and the philosophy of the journal his-torical issues: for example, the description of individual issues of «Nasha Niva» newspaper is replaced by articles about the role of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the daily life of the nobles, presented in memoirs, the influence of Belarus-ian masters on Moscow architecture, etc. In the majority of the thematically «scattered» historical publications, one line clearly emerges –the national one. The journal was published again in 2013 due to the joint efforts of Os-trogorski Centre and the Anglo-Belarusian Society. It has acquired a more sci-entific structure. It publishes articles on Belarusian literature, linguistics, inter-national relations, civil society, history and art, as well as book reviews, which emphasizes its scientific component. The modern version of the journalcontains a larger number of articles on historical topics in comparison with the publica-tion of the second half of the 20th century. Publications of the modern journal deal with such topics as the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the early Soviet period of the 1920–30s and belarusization, Western Belarus as a part of Poland, the period of the Second World War, Stalinism, personalities, etc.

Abstract:
The case discusses the issues of autonomy and accountability in the healthcare division of a local self-government. It highlights the underlying tension between the elected representatives' need to control the division and the executive's need for basic functional and financial autonomy in developing and maintaining the division as a useful and responsive facility to the public. It raises questions as to the concept of cost and responsibility centres in local self-governments and what happens when one of the responsibility centres starts generating revenue and becomes a truly profit centre. Since the basic nature of the service is more of a responsibility — do the surpluses generated by the new profit centre get ploughed back to the same facility or should it get into the general pool of the Panchayat? If the argument is that it should be ploughed back to the responsibility centre to improve the overall facilities of the division, then should the objectives of the division be redefined and what should be the most appropriate institutional mechanism to grant autonomy for a division that is doing well? How would these mechanisms work in the long run? The case tries to sensitize the discussants to the issues and tensions that emerge in a well-managed division of a local-self-government. It also raises the larger issue of autonomy and accountability in democratic institutions.

Abstract:
Abstract Taking the dispute between East Timor and Australia over their maritime boundary as an illustrative context, this article discusses the role of semiotic resources in constructing chronotopes of protest. Reflecting first on language choice in urban protests during East Timor’s struggle for independence, the paper goes on to analyse the deployment of material and virtual resources in East Timorese-led demonstrations against the Australian government’s stance in the dispute. Using ‘entanglement’ as a structuring metaphor, and looking at language choice, social and grammatical indexicality, imagery, embodied cultural capital, and the choreography of assembly, the paper explores how protesters constructed a set of chronotopes that drew on the injuries of the colonial past, and re-emplaced and re-framed them in the post-colonial present. The paper looks at the linguistic landscape of protest as a semiotic aggregate in which the periphery claims a voice and ‘talks back’ to the centre.

Abstract:
This study aimed to assess the effect of the county-level medical centre policy on the health outcomes of trauma patients transported by emergency medical service (EMS) system in rural China. The methodology involved the use of electronic health records (EHRs, after 2016) of patients with trauma conditions such as head injury (n = 1931), chest (back) injury (n = 466), abdominal (waist) injury (n = 536), and limb injury (n = 857) who were transported by EMS to the county-level trauma centres of Huining County and Huan County in Gansu, China. Each patient was matched with a counterpart to a county-level trauma centre hospital by propensity score matching. Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) of such patients in different hospitals. The HRs of all patients with the abovementioned traumatic conditions transported by EMS to county-level trauma centre hospitals were consistently higher than those transported by EMS to traditional hospitals after adjusting for numerous potential confounders. Higher HRs were associated with all patients with trauma (HR = 1.249, p < 0.001), head injury (HR = 1.416, p < 0.001), chest (back) injury (HR = 1.112, p = 0.560), abdominal (waist) injury (HR = 1.273, p = 0.016), and limb injury (HR = 1.078, p = 0.561) transported by EMS to the county-level trauma centre hospitals. Our study suggests that the construction of county-level medical centre provides an effective strategy to improve the health outcomes of EMS-transported trauma patients in Gansu, China. Policy makers can learn from the experience and improve the health outcomes of such patients through a personalised trauma treatment system and by categorizing the regional trauma centre.

AbstractThe most important challenges in the construction field is to do the experimentation of the designing at real time. It leads to the wastage of the materials and time consuming process. In this paper, an artificial neural network based model for the verification of sigma section characteristics like shear centre and deflection are designed and verified. The physical properties like weight, depth, flange, lip, outer web, thickness, and area to bring shear centre are used in the model. Similarly, weight, purlin centres with allowable loading of different values used in the model for deflection verification. The overall average error rate as 1.278 percent to the shear centre and 2.967 percent to the deflection are achieved by the model successfully. The proposed model will act as supportive tool to the steel roof constructors, engineers, and designers who are involved in construction as well as in the section fabricators industry.

Full text
Abstract:
The authors contribute to the developing literature on call centres by providing detailed empirical evidence on the spatial unevenness in the distribution of call centre activity. They argue that the driving forces of call centre growth, whether as the rationalisation of back-office functions or as entirely new entities, have been corporate strategy and the pursuit of low-cost competitive advantage. Thus, although technological developments at the heart of call centre operations render them relatively ‘footloose’ in locational terms, the search for specific characteristics makes certain regions (and parts of regions) more attractive than others. By using a sample database of call centres, the authors describe the characteristics of call centres in the United Kingdom in terms of size, sector, and spatial distribution. They then attempt to explain the determinants of call centre location at the county level through a multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that there is a propensity to site call centres close to existing concentrations of allied activity, with preferences for densely populated areas mediated by needs to maintain employee access and avoid staff turnover problems. This has important implications for the spatial division of labour, with call centre growth likely to reinforce existing spatial unevenness in employment in key service activities. The authors conclude by considering the implications of these findings for contemporary urban and regional development, as well as providing a number of suggestions for future research.

Abstract Introduction In patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)-mediated reperfusion is preferred over pharmacoinvasive reperfusion with fibrinolysis if transfer to a PCI centre can be ensured in ≤120 min. We evaluated the ambulance driving time to primary PCI centres in the Netherlands and assessed to what extent ambulance driving times were impacted by the expansion of off-site PCI centres. Methods and results We calculated the driving routes from every Dutch postal code to the nearest PCI centre with (on-site) or without (off-site) surgical back-up. We used data from ambulance records to estimate the ambulance driving time on each route. There were 16 on-site and 14 off-site PCI centres. The median (interquartile range) time to on-site PCI centres was 18.8 min (12.2–26.3) compared with 14.9 min (8.9–20.9) to any PCI centre (p < 0.001). In postal code areas that were impacted by the initiation of off-site PCI, the median driving time decreased from 25.4 (18.2–33.1) to 14.7 min (8.9–20.9) (p < 0.001). Ambulance driving times of >120 min were only seen in non-mainland areas. Conclusion Based on a computational model, timely ambulance transfer to a PCI centre within 120 min is available to almost all STEMI patients in the Netherlands. Expansion of off-site PCI has significantly reduced the driving time to PCI centres.

Abstract:
Aristotle’s presented the first global model; his model of the planetary system. It was totally wrong.Still, it ruled the world for 1800 years until Copernicus presented an observationally based solution. Toleave observational reality behind and to hang on to models and model predictions seem utterlydangerous and basically unscientific. Still, we are today victims of many ruling models. IPCC‚sclimate-modeling now totally roles the entire world. Still, it is based on very shaky ground includingerrors, falsifications and misinterpretations. Sea level, for example, is by no means in a rising mode andwe can free the world from the condemnation to become flooded in the near future. In about 40 yearswe will be in a new Solar Minimum and are hence likely to experience a new “Little Ice Age”. All thisreveals the danger of ruling models, and calls for a return to basic observational facts. Scientificintegrity has become vital.

Abstract:
<p><strong>Introduction:</strong> Laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy is the standard of care at high-volume renal transplant centres, with benefits over the open approach well-documented in the literature. Herein, we present a retrospective analysis of our single-institution donor nephrectomy series comparing the mini-open donor nephrectomy (mini-ODN) to the laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (LDN) with regards to operative, donor, and recipient outcomes.</p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> From 2007‒2011, there were 89 cases of mini-ODN, at which point our centre transitioned to LDN; 94 cases were performed from 2011‒2014. In total, 366 patients were reviewed, including donor and recipient pairs. Donor and recipient demographics, intraoperative data, postoperative donor recovery, recipient graft outcomes, and financial cost were assessed comparing the surgical approaches.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> We demonstrate a reduced estimated blood loss (347.83 vs. 90.3 cc), lower intraoperative complication rate (4 vs. 11) and shorter length of hospital stay (2.4 vs. 3.3 days) for patients in the LDN group. Operative time was significantly longer for the LDN group (108.4 vs. 165.9 minutes), although this did not translate to a longer warm ischemia time (mean 2.0 minutes for each group). The rate of delayed graft function and recipient 12-month creatinine were comparable for ODN and LND. Overall cost of LDN was $684 higher for an uncomplicated admission.</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Despite a longer surgical time and higher upfront cost, our study supports that LDN yields several advantages over the mini-ODN, with a lower estimated blood loss, fewer intraoperative complications, and shorter length of hospital stay, all while maintaining excellent renal allograft outcomes.</p>

Abstract:
Co-ordinated cell movement of tens of thousands of cells and periodic signals characterise the multicellular development of the cellular slime mould Dictyostelium discoideum. We investigated cell movement by analysing time-lapse video recordings made during the slug stage and the culmination phase of Dictyostelium development. Slugs viewed from the side showed an even, straight forward movement with the tip slightly raised in the air. Slugs that had migrated for a prolonged period of time either culminated or showed a behaviour best described as abortive culmination. Culmination is initiated by a local aggregation of anterior-like cells at the base of the slug at the prestalk-prespore boundary, where they form a stationary mass of cells. Prespore cells continue to move forward over this stationary pile and, as a result, are lifted into the air. The stationary group of anterior-like cells thereby end up to the back of the slug. At this point the slug either falls back on the agar surface or continues culmination. If the slug continues to migrate these cells regain motility, move forward to the prespore-prestalk boundary and form a new pile again. In the case of culmination the neutral red stained cells in the pile move to the back of the slug and form a second signalling centre beside the tip. Both centres are characterised by vigorous rotational cell movement. The cells belonging to the basal centre will form the basal disc and the lower cup in the fruiting body. The upper cup will be formed by the prestalk cells rotating most vigorously at the prestalk-prespore boundary. The remaining neutral red stained anterior-like cells in the prespore zone sort either to the upper or lower organising centre in the fruiting body.

Abstract:
Ralph and Myrtle Mae Borsodi, two early twentieth century back-to-the-land writers based in rural New York state, wrote the rural agrarian smallholding as a kind of refugium, a philosophical and physical site for those self-sufficient smallholders to survive, even thrive, through an expected US cultural extinction. The centre of their back-to-the-land agrarian refugium is the heterocouple complete with attached gendered roles and expectations. For this self-sufficiency promoting couple, the rural back-to-the-land homestead was the future of a new and better America made up of decentralised, self-sufficient farms and workshops run by those Ralph termed 'quality-minded men'. Indeed, both in their writings and in real life, their self-sufficiency rested on the backs of urban factory workers, the poor and, most likely, people of colour - domestic labourers. Such exploitation was not incidental, but a key component of the ideal world imagined by this couple.

Abstract:
Abstract. We review an intense and heavy impact storm that occurred over Calabria, southern Italy, during the 11 and 12 December 2003. The event is traced back, at synoptic and planetary scales, up to 5 December 2003 by National Centre for Environmental Prediction/National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCEP/NCAR) reanalysis fields and backtrajectories. The role of tropical storm Odette is clearly shown as well as that of the Azores high. Even if non negligible water vapour sources are expected from the Mediterranean sea, unusually large precipitable water was present over the Atlantic mid-latitudes. It is shown that tropical storm Odette determined large evaporation from Atlantic Tropics and the cooperative action of synoptic scale and planetary scale pressure centres focused this humidity into a plume and conveyed it into the Mediterranean area.

Abstract:
The kinematics of the lumbar spine have previously been described by considering the bearing of the pelvis and lower back. However earlier studies have not described an intersegmental angle measured about a single point; which is necessary for investigation into movement, posture and balance, and lower back pain and injury. This study used computed tomography (CT) scans of 16 pelves to determine the location of palpable bony landmarks, and the junction of the fifth lumbar and first sacral vertebrae within a pelvis axis system. Data were used to derive equations which express the three-dimensional location of the lumbosacral joint centre as an offset from palpable surface landmarks. The magnitude of X, Y, Z offsets was controlled using individual pelvic geometry, and robustness and repeatability of the method was assessed. Regression equations provided the location of the lumbosacral junction to within 8.2 mm (±3.4 mm) of its true coordinate. Leave-one-out analyses calculated equation coefficients using 15 of the original pelves, with the 16th acting as a control; average errors increased by 6.7 per cent (±0.1 per cent). To the authors’ knowledge the current method is the most accurate non-invasive means of locating the lumbosacral junction and may be useful for constructing biomechanical models.

Abstract:
In this paper the radial and axial vibration behaviour of a rigid shaft supported by a pair of back-to-back angular contact ball bearings, mounted on elastomeric O-ring dampers, is studied. The use of elastomeric dampers for reducing the untoward effects of vibrations, due to unbalance of the shaft centre, is investigated. A computer program was developed to simulate such situations with the results presented in the form of frequency response curves and shaft centre orbits. All results showed that elastomeric O-ring dampers can successfully be used for shaft-ball bearing systems as long as the dynamic characteristics of both the system and the elastomeric O-rings are known very well.

Abstract The XXVth Anniversary of CercleS brings back memories not only of the CercleS Association and its development, but also of the role of Language Centres in European universities. This article presents the Centre of Languages and Communication (CLC) at Poznan University of Technology (PUT) in Poland. It focuses on the main challenges the CLC has experienced over the years and presents facts from its historical development. It is a very personal article which can be read in two ways: firstly, as a memoir with facts and detailed information about the development of the CLC, and secondly, as a guide for new Language Centres and their managers, who may wish to play a positive role at national and international levels.

Abstract:
White rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is one of the most famous victims of poachers in Africa. One of the methods for dealing with decreasing rhino numbers is rehabilitating wounded and/or orphaned animals to successfully release them back into the wild. The status of rescued animal differs among individuals, but general procedures must be established and constantly improved. This study presents the history of successful release of three orphaned white rhino females; rehabilitated for 15 months in Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in a private game reserve in South Africa. Female A was three years old, female B was one year old and the youngest female was three months old on arrival. The animals were rehabilitated together despite the differences in their age and size, with particular attention paid to keeping them as wild as possible. After being weaned and becoming old enough to go back to the wild, they were released at a distance from the rehabilitation centre, which required immobilization and translocation. Since the rhinos were released, they have been successfully living in the wild. All procedures used in this study proved to be sufficient for preparing the animals for life in the wild and can be recommended for other centres.

Abstract:
This article analyses the competition strategies adopted by the Christian Democratic (DC) and post-Christian Democratic (post-DC) parties after the electoral reforms of 1993 and 2005. Four main aspects are considered: the significance of cultural (ideological and cognitive) factors in the DC's exit from the political stage; the need to adapt post-DC strategy to bipolarism and the nostalgia for an autonomous centre; the nature and geography of the post-DC vote; and the attitudes of the middle-level elites of the three principal post-DC parties (the DL, the UDEUR and the UDC) vis-à-vis the competitive and strategic decisions they had to make. The article reaches the following conclusions: the post-DC parties share the same cultural orientations and have similar politico-electoral characteristics (a confessional background, the relevance of patronage networks and personalistic vote mobilisation); all three parties adapted, in different ways and with different degrees of success, to the new structure of coalitional bipolarism in the decade 1996–2006; and both research data on the main post-DC parties’ national congress delegates and the evolution of their electoral strategies on the eve of the 2008 elections show that the post-Christian Democrats felt more at home in the centre-left alignment, together with the post-communist PDS-DS, than in the centre-right alignment led by Berlusconi.

There are great differences in outward appearance, geometric shape, luffing performance between jib type crane with back-rocker driving and normal double-link type crane. Jib type crane with back-rocker driving has some advantages, i.e. lower centre of weight, practical and reasonable structure, strongly anti-wind and easy operation, upwarp of flying jib invariably. Based on inverse design and principle of mechanics, force analysis and luffing moment of luffing mechanism of jib type crane with back-rocker driving is researched and solved, implemented on MATLAB.
