Abstract:
Summary This article discusses a unique chapter of the classical tradition: the multilingual reception of the Organon of Aristotle during the early Middle Ages. In doing so, it fills two scholarly gaps. First, it focuses attention on the early Middle Ages as a crucial but neglected phase of the classical tradition, when ancient texts were studied in Latin, Greek and Arabic. Secondly, it elucidates the special case of the simultaneous reception of the Organon in these three language realms. In the eighth and ninth century, intellectuals living in cities as far apart as Aachen and Baghdad studied the Organon at the same time in Latin and Arabic, while in Constantinople it was read in the original Greek. No other classical text was read by such a geographically widespread audience. This article aims to explain how a classical corpus that is now only studied by specialists gained such popularity in both Europe and the Middle East.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This contribution is a commented portfolio of images gathered during fieldwork in Baghdad (February 2020). It aims to provide an overview of the murals which have been concentrated on Tahrir Square since the revolution of October 2019. These murals share some iconographic topics in common with the thawra (revolution) in Syria, Tunisia, Egypt and Beirut. Nevertheless, some semantic and iconographic registers are specific to Iraq, and divided into two main categories. The first one recreates “a city within the city” (ville en abyme) through composite unrealistic images of real places known to all; the second relates to the martyrology of Shiism, with portraits of historical imams, but also of “martyrs” killed during the repression in Autumn 2019. Contrary to the well-known official iconography since the 1958 Iraqi revolution, this new figurative expression is that of a young population predominantly Shiite (due to demography in Iraq), and it stems from a cultural and political substrate prone to rebellion—that of Hussein, long repressed by power. The style is often naive, at the antipodes of the concomitant Beiruti thawra street art, although crossing with other globalized graphic codes. It constitutes a vibrant popular culture and also signals a “Shiitization” of public space. Beyond traditional divisions, it finally proves to federate, in reaction to the iconoclasm of Daesh but also to the corruption that strikes the daily life and the future of millions of citizens.

Abstract:
The present researcher tried to find out the origin of Korean language. And the researcher tried to know the similar aspect between Korean language and Persian language (Kim and Park, 2022). The methods are very simple. The present researcher selected tens of Persian words randomly, and he observed the similarity between Persian language and Korean language. And the researcher used a Persian-French dictionary (Bau, 2008). Next is the result of the study. The number, Persian word, Korean word and its meaning were written as follows. <number Persian word (its meaning) Korean word (its meaning)> 0023 Qrut (dried and solid cheese) Quruk-quruk-quruk (voice of flowing liquid) 0024 Forsat (circumstance, occasion) Abbulsa! (expression at the sudden occasion) 0025 Aksariat (majority) Aksseora-deul! (All of you, cry on the loud voice!) 0026 Bagdad (the city of ‘Bagdad’) Baggad-deul (the outsider, the person living outside) 0027 Faransa (France on Arab language) Bbareun-saram (the people who can run fast) 0028 Ambar (dung of animal, feces) An-beoryeo (We will not discard it, we will use it!) 0029 Gol (flower) Ggot (flower) 0030 Musa (Moise, the leader of Israel) Museoweo (I have fear for something or for somebody) 0031 Zat (the essentially necessary thing) Sat or Sataguni (groin of the body) 0032 Jala (brilliant, encaustic) Jareureureu (brilliant, oily) 0033 Bar omadan (spring or flush) Baro-oma (I will come soon!) 0034 Kalema (parole or word) Geoleumma (toddle, baby step). The distance of the two countries – Persian and Korea- is very long, and the time interval between Persia and Korea is also very long. It is assumed therefore that the meaning was changed.

Abstract:
ENGLISH: Using fiction to approach the Middle East – high school students read Yasmina Khadra’s novel The Sirens of Baghdad With the aim of examining how literary texts can be used to reach curricular goals relating to global citizenship education and intercultural understanding, a reader study was conducted with ninety-two high school students around Yasmina Khadra’s The Sirens of Baghdad, a novel about an aspiring terrorist in Iraq. A twenty-seven-item survey was conducted, covering nine aspects of learning and engagement. The results suggest that the novel produced high levels of transportation, contextualized understanding, and identification with the protagonist’s emotions. No significant undesired effects, such as an appetite for violence, were observed. The underlying hypothesis that the studied type of fictional narratives are suitable for upper secondary education was tentatively confirmed, but more research is needed to generalize the findings. The present study has contributed to developing methods for such continued research. Keywords: Teaching and learning, High school, Curriculum, L1, Global citizenship, Iraq, Fiction

Abstract:

AbstractThe mineral conichalcite from the western part of Bagdad mine, Bagdad, Eureka District, Yavapai County, Arizona, USA has been characterized by electronic, near-infrared (NIR), Raman and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that the mineral consists of bundles of fibres. Calculations based on the results of the energy dispersive X-ray analyses on a stoichiometric basis show the substitution of arsenate by 12 wt.% of phosphate in the mineral. Raman and IR bands are assigned in terms of the fundamental modes of AsO43− and PO43− molecules and are related to the mineral structure. Near-IR reflectance spectroscopy shows the presence of adsorbed water and hydroxyl units in the mineral. The Cu(II) coordination polyhedron in conichalcite can have at best pseudo-tetragonal geometry. The crystal field and tetragonal field parameters of the Cu(II) complex were calculated and found to agree well with the values reported for known tetragonal distortion octahedral complexes.

Abstract:
U.S. withdrawal from “forever wars” doesn't mean the complete drawdown of U.S. footprint in the Gulf region. That’s one reason why Iraqi political regime won't be toppled. The United States is going to minimize its military presence as well as make it safe for its military personnel. Nevertheless, the U.S. footprint in the Middle East is transforming and adapting for U.S. competition with “revisionist powers.” The United States intends to use their traditional foreign policy toolbox in this struggle. All typical U.S. foreign policy deficiencies, such as absence of the strategic approach, incoherence and lack of foresight, remain. Therefore, all key U.S. issues, which were set on Iraqi direction, will stay unresolved. Their scope and urgency will be contained by objective regional factors and limited U.S. competitors’ potential, not by American influence.
