The problem of Schrödinger equation with complex boundary conditions for modelling a motion of electrons in gyrotrons is considered. Numerical results obtained by using Fourier, Finite Differences (FD) and Degenerate Matrices (DM) methods are compared in the simplest case. The paper examines the models and stiffness efficiency of the column base of semi-rigid steel frames, reviews stiffness calculation methods and calculates the rotation of column base connection in two ways: analytical, according to LST EN 1993-1-8, and finite element, applying nonlinear analysis. The paper investigates the general buckling of an axially loaded column using the finite element method with different slenderness ratios of axes x-x and z-z.
