The production of cement, an essential material in civil engineering, requires a substantial energy input, with a significant portion of this energy consumed during the grinding stage. This study addresses the gap in the literature concerning the collective impact of key parameters, including ball size, feed rate, and mill speed, on grinding efficiency. Nine spherical balls, ranging from 15–65 mm, were utilized in six distinct distributions, alongside varying feed rates and mill speeds. ANOVA, Taguchi, and regression analyses were employed to explore their influence on grinding efficiency and

In this paper, a nine degree-of-freedom dynamic model of the ball screw feed system considering the contact nonlinearity between balls and raceways is established to analyze the vibration characteristics. The position relationship between raceway centers for the ball screw and bearings is determined by using the homogeneous coordinate transformation, and then the restoring force functions along the axial and lateral directions are derived. The dynamic equations of the feed system are solved by using Newmark method, and the proposed model is verified by the experimental method. Furthermore, the

Mud ball formation in lime kilns has been a persistent problem in many kraft mills, particularly for older kilns that are equipped with chains. A systematic laboratory study was conducted to examine how mud balls are formed and the key factors that affect ball formation. The results confirm the general mill experience that high moisture and high sodium contents in lime mud are the main contributing factors to ball formation. The high moisture content allows lime mud to agglomerate and grow to form balls, while the high sodium content helps make the balls hard and retain their shape. A ball for

However, it is quite challenging to accurately calculate the churning loss. A CFD study based on unsteady Reynolds-Averaged-Navier-Stokes that resolves the gas-liquid interface was performed to examine the unsteady multiphase flow in a roller/ball bearing. In this study, the rotating motion of the cage, races, rollers/balls about the shaft as well as self-rotation of rollers/balls about their own axis were accounted to accurately

Abstract:
In this study, in order to investigate the power consumption of feed drive system, a mathematical model to predict for the electric power consumption of feed drive systems is proposed by using the single-axis experimental apparatus. This can be driven by either of ball screw or linear motor and it is possible to change the mechanical properties of the machine such as grease viscosity of the table. The power consumption is simulated by proposed simulation method based on the mathematical model of feed drive system and the simulated results are compared with the measured results of the experimen

Abstract:
This study explored spatial patterns of overflights at Badlands National Park (BADL). Overflights were analyzed from July 13, 2022 to August 27, 2022 (46 days) using Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data. There were 26 days of data and 20 days of missing data due to technical difficulties with the ADS-B logger. The first phase of analysis focused on all overflights and found overflights above most areas of BADL. The second phase of analysis focused on low-level overflights that fly below 7,000ft mean sea level (MSL) and fly within 10-miles of the BADL boundary, which found a
