Abstract:
The subject of the article are the names of women – settlers from Bamberg who had lived in the urban villages of Poznań since 1719, and representatives of next generations of Bamberg families. The eponymous Bamberka is treated as an element of the cultural heritage of Poznanians (in both tangible and intangible aspect). The question about Bamberka’s Poznańness refers to the attribution of the same stereotypical traits and common values reproduced on an onymic plane to both Poznanians and Bambers. The model of a Catholic, founded on considering religion an authority in all social matters, determined choices of names made by Bambers and native inhabitants of villages in the suburbs of Poznań to the same degree. The author proves that common values, cultural connotations and onymic stereotypes favoured integration of both groups.

Der Text ist der Versuch, die höchst subjektiven (aber vielleicht nicht beliebigen) Erfahrungen und Effekte einer immersiven Silent-Walk-Performance zu rekonstruieren, die in Bamberg am 12. Juli 2019 stattfand und von Werner Friedrichs (Universität Bamberg) gemeinsam mit der Performance-Künstlergruppe JAJAJA (Hamburg) konzipiert und durchgeführt wurde. Dazu sind zwei vorbereitende Schritte notwendig: In einem ersten - theoretischen - Schritt werde ich (im Anschluss an Werner Friedrichs) sehr knapp Überlegungen zu einer politischen Bildungsarbeit vorstellen, die die Einsichten der neueren, um die "politische Differenz" (Marchart) zentrierten Demokratietheorien politikdidaktisch ausmünzen will. In einem zweiten - konzeptuell-methodologischen - Schritt schlage ich vor, die Erfahrungsgehalte einer solchen Bildungsarbeit mit einem Fokus auf ihre affektiven Wirkungen zu analysieren, d.h. mit Blick auf die Konstitution von Stimmungen bzw. Atmosphären, die affektiven Resonanzen zwischen den Teilnehmer*innen sowie die Verunsicherung subjektiver Gefühlslagen. Auf dieser Grundlage stellt der dritte - wenn man so will: empirische - Abschnitt anhand von Vignetten aus meinen field notes exemplarisch zwei Ereignisse bzw. didaktische Arrangements des Silent-Walk vor und versucht deren Bildungsgehalte affekttheoretisch zu rekonstruieren. Abschließend möchte ich den kritischen Einwand diskutieren, ob die skizzierten Erlebnisepisoden als Bildungserfahrungen zu werten sind und ob eine solche Bildung als politische qualifiziert werden kann.

Abstract:
Improving power plant performance, availability and operational costs is crucial to remain competitive in today’s competitive energy market. The boiler is a key component to achieve these objectives, particularly so when using challenging fuels, such as municipal solid waste or exhaust gases with high dust contents. This paper describes an innovative boiler design that has been used for the first time in an Energy from Waste plant in Bamberg, Germany. The new boiler design disregards the traditional heating surface arrangement and instead uses tube bundles arranged in parallel to the gas flow, which provides several advantages, such as reduced fouling. The paper describes the Bamberg project (boiler design and project highlights) and first operational results after 30,500h of operation. Additionally, the paper investigates further options to reduce fouling through the use of dimpled tubes, especially the ip tube® technology. The technology is presented as well as first test results of such tubes in the Energy from Waste plant Rosenheim, Germany. The paper concludes with further applications for the parallel flow boiler design, such as cement kilns, to outline future markets.

Abstract:
A model for the development of a corpus-driven spelling dictionary for the Bambara language is described. First, a list of about 4,000 lexemes characterized by spelling variability is extracted from an electronic BambaraFrench dictionary. At the next stage, a script is applied to determine the number of occurrences of each spelling variant in the Bambara Reference Corpus, separately for the entire Corpus (more than 11 million words) and for its disambiguated subcorpus (about 1.5 million words). Statistics on the diversity of sources and authors are also obtained automatically. The statistical data are then sorted manually into two lists of lexemes: those whose standard spelling can be established statistically, and those requiring evaluation by expert linguists. Some difficult cases are discussed in the paper. At the final stage, a representative expert commission will discuss all those lexemes for which statistical data alone do not suffice to define a standard spelling variant, before taking a final decision on each. The resulting Bambara spelling dictionary will be published electronically and on paper.

Abstract:
The functional application of plant proteins as food ingredients can be improved by altering their composition and structure. In this study, the impact of plasma-activated water (PAW) on the structure composition and functionality of Bambara groundnut globulin was investigated. Bambara globulin was treated with PAW (pH 3.4 and conductivity of 200 mV) at 4 degrees C overnight. This was then analyzed by SDS-PAGE, amino acid profiling, hydrophobicity, zeta potential, FTIR, and intrinsic fluorescence emission in comparison with the untreated globulin. Functional properties analyses included solubility, emulsifying, and foaming to define its potential application in the food system. Plasma treatment resulted in the loss of helical structure and an over 3-folds increase in beta-turns. Amino acid data showed a 20% reduction in glutamic acid after treatment. PAW treated Bambara globulin showed a slight redshift in fluorescence intensity suggesting an unfolding of the protein structure, which also correlated with the observed increased hydrophobicity. Crosslinking was not evident in the gel electrophoresis and no major change in protein surface charge and solubility profiles. Average oil droplet sizes were increased with increasing protein concentrations from 10-20 mg/ml, suggesting that Bambara globulin had reduced emulsifying capacity after treatment with PAW. However, foaming capacities were significantly better and stable at up to 15 mg protein/mL. PAW modification could be a promising strategy for the enhancement of the foaming properties of plant proteins.

Abstract:
Im Rahmen des Smart City Programms der Stadt Bamberg wurde eine Befragung der Zivilgesellschaft durchgeführt, mit dem Ziel, Informationen über die aktuelle Geodaten-Nutzung und potenzielle Nutzungsszenarien für ein städtisches Geodatenportal zu sammeln. Der verwendete Fragebogen und die Ergebnisse werden dargestellt, sowie mögliche Gründe für den Umfrage-Abbruch diskutiert. Es zeigt sich, dass unter den Befragten, die die Umfrage vollständig ausgefüllt haben, ein großer Anteil bereits Geodaten nutzt. Diese Personen und Organisationen sind bereits gut in der Lage ihre Bedarfe und Ideen einzubringen, während andere Teile der Zivilgesellschaft noch keinen Nutzen von Geodaten für sich sehen. Die abschließende Diskussion der gesammelten Use Cases bietet Ansatzpunkte für die weitere Auseinandersetzung mit möglichen Funktionalitäten einer Bamberger Datenplattform.

Der vorliegende Beitrag entstand im Zusammenhang mit einem Projekt-Seminar zum 25. Jubiläum des deutsch-polnischen Nachbarschaftsvertrages an der Universität Bamberg. Er stellt in groben Zügen die jahrhundertealten Verbindungen zwischen Bamberg und Polen dar und berichtet über die gegenwärtigen Kooperationen auf kommunaler und wirtschaftlicher Ebene sowie über die Partnerschaften zwischen Bildungseinrichtungen und Jugendorganisationen. Mit der Projektarbeit sind auch Reflexionen über das Fach Slavistik im Zeitalter der EU und der Globalisierung verknüpft.

Der modular aufgebaute Workshop bietet eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Einführung in das Konzept sozial-emotionaler Kompetenzen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Möglichkeiten der Erfassung derartiger Kompetenzen im Rahmen der psychologischen Diagnostik in Einrichtungen zur beruflichen Förderung von Menschen mit Lernbehinderungen. Dementsprechend ist der Workshop in erster Linie als anwendungsorientiertes Training für Fachkräfte in der beruflichen Bildung zu verstehen, welche die an der Universität Bamberg entwickelten diagnostischen Verfahren SEC-I und SEC-SJT (Inventar und Situational Judgement Test zur Erfassung sozial-emotionaler Kompetenzen bei jungen Menschen mit (sub-)klinischer kognitiver bzw. psychischer Beeinträchtigung) anwenden bzw. mit der Anwendung betraute Personen schulen möchten. Der Workshop umfasst sieben Themenbereiche, die je nach Bedarf flexibel zusammengestellt werden können: Theoretische Grundlagen und verschiedene Definitionen sozial-emotionaler Kompetenz, Grundlagen psychologischer Diagnostik, Potenzielle Schwierigkeiten beim Einsatz der diagnostischen Verfahren, Anwendung des Fragebogens zur Selbsteinschätzung bzw. des Situational Judgement Tests, Anwendung des Fragebogens zur Fremdeinschätzung und objektive Verhaltensbeobachtung. Abstract:
The modular workshop offers a science-based introduction to the concept of social-emotional competences. It focuses on the psychological assessment of such competences in in institutions specialized in the professional development of people with learning disabilities. As such, the workshop is primarily to be understood as an application-oriented training programme for professionals who work in vocational education and use (or teach the usage of) the assessment tools SEC-I and SEC-SJT (Inventory and Situational Judgment Test for the assessment of social-emotional competence in young people with (sub-) clinical cognitive or psychological impairment) which were developed at the University of Bamberg. The workshop comprises seven subject areas that can be flexibly put together as required: theoretical basics and definitions of social-emotional competence, the basics of psychological assessment, potential difficulties in its use, usage of the self-rating scale, the situational judgment test, the observer-rating scale, and objective observation of behaviour. The general aim of this workshop is to learn how to use and apply the assessment tools in practical settings.

Zweifelsohne wirken sich neue Technologien auf die Alltagsmobilität einschließlich der Wahl verfügbarer Verkehrsmitteln aus und implizieren damit verkehrs- umwelt- und raumbezogene Folgen. Der massenhafte Anstieg der individuellen Pkw-Nutzung der zurückliegenden Jahrzehnte wird weitestgehend auf strukturelle Veränderungen zurückgeführt, die sich aus dem Zusammenwirken von technologischer Möglichkeit (hier: der Option „Pkw“) und allgemeinen ökonomischen und sozialen Entwicklungstrends in modernen Industriegesellschaften ergeben (vgl. exemplarisch Kutter 2001; Kutter/Stein 1998). Insbesondere bezogen auf die soziale Akzeptanz von technischen Neuerungen – ökonomisch gesprochen: die Substitutionsbereitschaft zwischen bestehenden und neuen Technologien – muss jedoch die Perspektive des Akteurs und sein individuelles Entscheidungsverhalten stärker in den Blick genommen werden, um die für Verkehr, Umwelt und Raum sich ergebenden Folgen besser abschätzen zu können. Entsprechende Studien, die das individuelle Entscheidungsverhalten im Umgang mit technologischen Neuerungen ins Zentrum der Untersuchung stellen, sind jedoch nach wie vor nur in geringer Zahl vorhanden. So steht beispielsweise außer Frage, dass Neuerungen im Bereich von IuK-Technologien die physische Mobilität nachhaltig beeinträchtigen werden. Gleichwohl sind die vorhandenen theoretischen wie empirischen Befunde der Mobilitätsforschung, wie die Entwicklung von IuK-Technologien die individuelle Mobilitätsnachfrage verändern wird, jedoch unklar oder widersprüchlich. Entsprechend stellt etwa Bamberg (2010) fest: „Die Dynamik dieser Entwicklung ist z.Z. kaum prognostizierbar“. Vor diesem Hintergrund hat unter anderen das Institut für Mobilitätsforschung (ifmo) in Kooperation mit dem Imperial College London jüngst eine Grundlagenstudie gestartet, um den Stand des Wissens zum Einfluss von IuK-Technologien auf das Mobilitätsverhalten aufzuarbeiten. Ein ähnlicher Erkenntnisstand lässt sich für andere verkehrs- und mobilitätsrelevante Technologiebereiche diagnostizieren. Eine der wenigen Ausnahmen hiervon bilden Analysen des Nutzerverhaltens bezogen auf die Akzeptanz neuer Antriebstechnologien im Bereich des motorisierten Individualverkehrs und hier speziell mit Blick auf die Nutzung elektrisch betriebener Fahrzeuge (vgl. stellvertretend Bongard 2014; Fazel 2014; Peters et al. 2013; Haugrund 2013; Pieper et al. 2013; Paternoga et al. 2013; Dudenhöffer et al. 2012; Döring/Aigner 2012; Döring 2012; Ahrend et al. 2011; Peters/Hoffmann 2011; Döring/Aigner 2011). Zu den Elektrofahrzeugen zählen dabeiterminologisch nicht alllein reine batterieelektrisch betriebene Fahrzeuge (BEV), sondern auch solche Elektrofahrzeuge, die entweder über einen Verbrennungsmotor zur Reichweitenverlängerung verfügen (REEV) oder bei denen sowohl ein E-Motor als auch ein Verbrennungsmotor für den Antrieb sorgt, wie dies bei den am Stromnetz aufladbaren Plugin-Hybridfahrzeugen (PHEV) der Fall ist. Schließlich werden zudem Brennstoffzellenfahrzeuge (FCEV), welche die benötigte Energie direkt an Bord des Fahrzeugs erzeugen (z.B. in Form von Wasserstoffbrennstoffzellen), zu den Elektrofahrzeugen gezählt. In Anbetracht dessen sollen nachfolgend exemplarisch die vorhandenen Einsichten zum Nutzerverhalten im Umgang mit der Elektromobilität zusammenfassend dargestellt sowie – wenngleich nur ansatzweise und damit in lediglich rudimentärer Form – einige sich daraus ergebende verkehrs-, umwelt- und raumbezogene Implikationen aufgezeigt werden.

Abstract:
Nesten ni av ti arbeidstakere drikker alkohol. Dette blir ofte forklart med alle de positive aspektene bruk av alkohol har i sosiale sammenhenger. En kartlegging utført av Statistisk sentralbyrå viser imidlertid at 17 prosent av befolkningen har et drikkemønster som kan betegnes som risikofylt (Halkjelsvik & Storvoll, 2014). Økt alkoholkonsum, herunder også arbeidsrelatert alkoholkonsum, henger blant annet sammen med økt tilgjengelighet til alkohol (Frøyland, 2005). Alkoholkonsum på et risikofylt nivå er forbundet med sosiale, medisinske, jobbrelaterte og økonomiske problemstillinger (Babor, Higgins-Biddle, Saunders & Monteiro, 2001). Det er vanskelig å gi et klart svar på hvor grensen for risikofylt drikking går. Grenseverdier på 14 alkoholenheter1 pr. uke for kvinner og 21 enheter pr. uke for menn har blitt foreslått (Fauske, 1993). Babor mfl. (2001) har fremhevet at såkalt "lavrisikodrikking" innebærer maksimalt 20 gram alkohol pr. dag maksimalt 5 dager i uken. Det amerikanske National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (2016) understreker at grenseverdien for risikodrikking går ved 7 enheter pr. uke (og maksimalt 3 enheter på én dag) for kvinner og ved 14 enheter pr. uke (og maksimalt 4 enheter på én dag) for menn. Likevel vil slike grenseverdier alltid være kulturspesifikke og individuelle. I Norge har man funnet det hensiktsmessig å operere med verdier på 8 alkoholenheter pr. uke for kvinner og 13 enheter pr. uke for menn (Nesvåg & Lie, 2004). Forskning har vist at det er behov for å kartlegge mer enn bare antall alkoholenheter over tid for å vite noe om reell risikodrikking. Eksempelvis vil forhold som hvor mye en drikker ved hver situasjon kunne medføre mer negative konsekvenser for sykefravær enn hvor mye en typisk drikker over en gitt periode (Bacharach, Bamberger & Biron, 2010). Dette kan forklares ved at helsekonsekvenser av høyt gjennomsnittsforbruk først viser seg over tid, mens episoder med stordrikking (såkalt binge-drikking der en drikker store mengder alkohol ved én og samme anledning, ofte målt som >6 enheter) gjerne medfører midlertidige funksjonsnedsettelser (eksempelvis "fyllesyke") som kan resultere i sykefravær (Bacharach mfl., 2010; Salonsalmi, Laaksonen, Lahlema & Rahkonen, 2009) eller sykenærvær, dvs. å være på jobben uten å kunne yte som normalt. Individuelle forskjeller vil også spille en rolle med hensyn til hva som er risikofylt drikking. Det er individuelt hvor mye en tåler, og andre aspekter ved livsstilen, for eksempel om en er fysisk aktiv, vil kunne påvirke hvor mye en kan drikke før negative konsekvenser inntreffer. For enkelte grupper vil ethvert alkoholinntak kunne betraktes som risikofylt. Dette gjelder for eksempel: (1) personer som skal kjøre bil eller håndtere maskiner/verktøy, (2) personer som bruker medisiner som interagerer med alkohol, (3) personer som har en medisinsk tilstand som kan forverres av alkohol, og (4) personer som er gravide (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, 2016). I Norge drikkes det lite i direkte arbeidssituasjoner, men alkoholbruk relatert til arbeidssammenhenger hevdes å være utbredt (Frøyland, 2005). Sammenkomster som inkluderer alkohol foregår da utenfor primærarbeidstiden, men i regi av arbeidsplassen, kunder/klienter eller på initiativ fra kollegaer. Bruk av alkohol skjer dermed i gråsoner mellom arbeid og fritid. Nesvåg (2005) fant at 23 prosent av det samlede alkoholkonsumet blant et utvalg ansatte i privat norsk næringsliv var arbeidsrelatert. Flere studier har pekt på at ansatte, både på ledernivå og medarbeidernivå, har positive forventninger til jobbrelatert alkoholbruk, herunder forventninger om at alkohol er en effektiv strategi for å mestre arbeidsbelastninger og at alkohol bidrar til å skape gode fellesskap og sosiale relasjoner (Cooper, Russell & Frone, 1990; Henderson, Hutcheson & Davies, 1996). Normer og forventninger utvikles og formes i relasjonelt samspill, blant annet på arbeidsplassen (Kjærheim, Mykletun, Aasland, Haldorsen & Andersen, 1995) og disse normene og forventningene påvirker ansattes alkoholvaner (Ames & Janes, 1992). Ansattes alkoholnormer og –forventninger kan således betraktes som uttrykk for en felles kultur på arbeidsplassen, som i større eller mindre grad kan gjenspeiles i de ansattes alkoholbruk. Tradisjonelt sett har det vært gruppen med store alkoholproblemer som har fått tilbud og oppmerksomhet gjennom arbeidsplassens helse-, miljø- og sikkerhetsarbeid. Her har man i de senere årene sett en endring i retning av økt fokus på den betydelig større gruppen som drikker risikofylt. Dette er bakgrunnen for prosjektet WIRUS, som er finansiert av Helsedirektoratet. I prosjektet deltar blant annet en privat transportbedrift. Denne rapporten er en presentasjon av denne bedriftens resultater fra fire av temaene som inngår i WIRUS-studien: (1) alkoholbruk, (2) arbeidsrelaterte alkoholnormer, (3) forventninger til alkoholbruk, og (4) situasjoner tilknyttet den aktuelle bedriften der ansatte eksponeres for alkohol.
