Full textThe entities of the peruvian financial system are exposed to different types of risk, as well as operational risk, which includes a type of loss event that is internal fraud. Although, this risk takes place in every organization, in the banking sector it is more relevant because of its main economic activity is financial intermediation, which involves a high amount of monetary transactions carried out by its employees, being more vulnerable to internal fraud. According to studies carried out by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE, 2016a), it was found that, the fraud carried out by company employees represents a high percentage of the total events of fraud carried out in the sector. Given this, regulatory agencies such as the Basel Committee and in Peru, the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones (SBS) have established a regulatory framework in which they establish the main activities for managing operational risk, and thereby providing solidity and stability to the system banking. Likewise, several investigations have identified the best practices to carry out this management, such as the implementation of prevention and detection processes and the definition of an action plan to confront event of internal fraud (Ernest & Young, 2016; Olcina, 2016; Riera & Ruano, 2016; Zayas, 2016). Therefore, in this thesis, seeking to identify good practices for the management of internal fraud risk in the peruvian financial system, it was conducted a qualitative approach investigation, in which, through interviews with the officials in charge of managing this risk, it has been obtained information that has been checked against the reviewed literature. A set of good practices implemented in the selected banks were identified, also similarities were found between them, and the best practices recommended by the various investigations. Likewise, the entities evaluated agreed that monetary losses for this type of event are variable from one year to another, and therefore it is difficult to predict them.

Full textThe Total Quality Management promotes continuous improvement in the performance of their duties in different areas through the use of good practices of quality. Recognized authors in this field as Demming, Crosby, Feigenbaum, Juran and Ishikawa contributed to the development of these practices and proposed that can be applied to all types of businesses. In this quantitative research the degree of compliance was analyzed the nine success factors of Total Quality Management in Banking Sector companies in Lima. There are not known academic publications that have analyzed the level of fulfillment of nine factors of the TQM. The instrument used for the compilation of information was the survey developed by Benzaquen (2013) that consists of 35 questions related to each of nine factors of success of the TQM, the study was applied on a sample of 138 surveys realized to the managers of agency or chiefs of department of the bank agencies of the province of Lima. The obtained results indicated that the sector pays in Lima, it has an average value of the qualit level of 4.33 opposite to 3.75 obtained as Benzaquen (2013), confirming that the companies of the sector come realizing negotiations for the implementation and process consolidation that they allow to obtain an improvement in the quality. Finally, we consider there is no a recipe on how to do that a quality system works for an organization, is a work that every organization must assume, with its particularities, by adhering to its management and culture, looking for the improvement continues and focused in expiring with the requirements of its clients. The bank companies at Lima must be employed in strengthening its management of quality to support the line of growth that they have experienced in the last ten years.

Full textThe thesis “Educative model to make generic competences in students of the technique profesional career for banking management and its interrelation with the generic laboral competences demanded from 2009 to march 2010” It was born of a perspective in my laboral center Centro Peruano de Estudios Bancarios, superior educative institute that make profesional for banking, since 2009 and after 24 years of working registered in its labor to place graduated students in the market a significative low in an average of 1% of the all candidates introduced for the educative institution. In a survey made in the institutions that require personal state that the candidates have good cognitive and skill formation while that in generic comptences formation they are not well development, indispensable requirement to get a place in the banking institutions. This situation created my worry in the investigation about what will be the generic competences in the banking laboral market, now, require and demand in which is the educative model that they will use in the banking formation institutions in Lima Metropolitana to get the objective of a better collocation and laboral insertion of their graduated. In the showed interrogants were transformed in hypothesis and corroborated through a study that verify the investigation. The investigation involved Lima Metropolitana, collecting dates through surveys and interviews and they were processed for the comprobation of the specific and general hypothesis. As a result of the investigation established that the laboral market require the following generic competences: Quality engagement, Interpersonal skills, Capacity of work team, Capacity to identify, considerer and solve problems, Creative capacity, Capacity to learn and up to date constantely. In the final chapter of the thesis we make an approach about a educative model that focuses in the systematic and methodological formation of generic competences, under the moderns criterias of the curricula and teaching methodology active, dynamic and integral.

Full textThe present paper aims to identify the core competencies that executive women from Scotiabank in Lima possess. In the first chapter, the theoretical framework will allow to understand: the current situation of executive women in banking, the barriers they face and their core competencies. In chapter two, a qualitative investigation is carried out based in the case study research that will allow to identify the core competencies that executive woman in Scotiabank have developed. In the third chapter, all the information collected will be analyzed and an answer is given to each one of the research questions. In chapter four, the findings of this research are detailed. Finally, in the last chapters the conclusions and recommendations for this study are presented, which are the result of the process that led to the findings.

Full textAnaliza la evaluación crediticia y su relación con el riesgo crediticio, porque el otorgamiento de créditos es la principal actividad de las Cooperativas de Ahorro y Crédito, que bien manejada es fuente generadora de remanentes (utilidades), pero si no se administra bien, puede generar importantes pérdidas. Las cooperativas de ahorro y crédito al otorgar créditos, asumen distintos niveles de riesgo crediticio, siendo de vital importancia que los métodos de evaluación crediticia que utilizan, sean precisos, confiables y permitan determinar el nivel de riesgo crediticio que asumen, antes de aprobar o denegar las solicitudes de crédito de sus socios. El método de investigación utilizado fue descriptivo, correlacional, análisis de caso y permitió determinar el grado de relación entre las variables evaluación crediticia y riesgo crediticio. El estudio fue desarrollado en la Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San Viator Ltda., seleccionando de manera aleatoria una muestra de 272 créditos de la cartera de créditos conformada por un total de 1,748 expedientes de crédito. La presente investigación, permitió determinar el grado de relación que existe entre el proceso de evaluación crediticia y el riesgo crediticio, por lo que es un importante aporte a la sostenibilidad de las cooperativas de ahorro y crédito.

Full textThe following project analyses Lima´s economically active B and C Millennials and their decision making process when acquiring personal loans in multiple banking. Said topic is important because in Lima, the segment relevance in the personal credit sector is 30%. Moreover, the fact that banks are currently evaluating their customers through traditional quantitative segmentation; and lastly, the lack of investigation projects about this matter. While developing this research, two main concepts were closely studied. Firstly, Millennials: Members of a same generation, and who were born between the years of 1980 and 2000. Their most important characteristic is using internet as a tool for their daily activities. The second concept is multiple banking (specifically the personal banking segment), which represents 34% of multiple banking. This sub-group includes multiple types loans (credit cards, cash loans, vehicle loans, and mortgages). The methodology was divided into four stages: initially, analyzing Sentinels (risk center) data as a source of secondary information. Secondly, depth interviews were conducted with industry experts; then, focus groups were placed according to specific segmentation. And finally, the target audience was polled in order to validate quantitatively the stated hypothesis.

Full textCurrently there is a need of parents between 25 - 45 years of age about care of their children, this is due to the fact that currently both the father and mother of socioeconomic sector B and C. who have a permanent job do not have of sufficient time, considering that infants from 0 to 3 years old need more care. For this reason, through an internal and external analysis, we were able to identify that many of the parents that are in the PEA look for the following: flexible hours in the nurseries, trained and responsible staff, accessible area to their work centers and methods of teaching that allows infants to develop their skills. It has been observed through a market study done through surveys of parents between the age ranges of 25 - 45 years as our target audience, then it we concluded that exists an unmet demand that has not been attended. Our business idea " Little steps of gold" is not only based on the care of the infant 0 to 3 years with a trained staff among the are teachers, assistants, cleaning and security staff, but also the Montessori teaching method that will allow the development of the Infants skills in their growing process. In order to carry through the project, we rely not only on a market study but also on a thorough economic and financial analysis that allows us to identify the viability of the project.

Full textThe present research work will focus on the attention process in the windows to be able to reduce the waiting time and to provide a better attention to the clients, improving the indicators of satisfaction of the same and to be able to become the bank with the most satisfied clients from the market. In order to analyze the problem, information was collected from the years 2014 to 2016, both in the waiting times and in the times of attention of each client. After evaluating different methodologies, it was decided that the improvement proposal will be developed through Process Management, seeking to reduce these customers waiting times and, in this way, reduce costs and improve service quality. For the implementation of the improvement proposal, it was developed a schedule of activities to be followed in order to comply with the stages of the project, which in the long term, is feasible and profitable according to the NPV and IRR obtained in the analysis and development of the present work of investigation.

Full textThe present investigation entitled: "Service improvement on Personal Banking and its influence on millennials customers when choosing a bank in Metropolitan Lima", aims to demonstrate the improvement in customer service is determining when choosing a bank of preference for this particular customer. We developed a descriptive investigation, working with a sample of 386 clients from the main banks of Metropolitan Lima. We applied a survey of 13 questions which basically asked them to rate customer service actions among others, indicate the reasons why they chose their current bank and the arguments for a possible change. All these helped us determine the most value aspects for millennials when choosing a bank. Based on the analysis of different variables from the survey we found that 80% of the participants considered that customer service improvements are the main reason when choosing a bank. At the same time, the diversity of customer support channels and digital innovation are the main actions with the highest value for the millennials surveyed. This is how we confirmed that customer service improvements have a positive influence and are determining for millennials when it comes to choose a bank in Metropolitan Lima.

Full textThe purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between service quality, consumer satisfaction and customer loyalty in the banking sector of Metropolitan Lima; in such a way that the managers of the banks studied can implement strategies that lead them to obtain more loyal and satisfied customers, through an improvement in the service quality. Regarding the methodology used to measure the service quality, the dimensions of the SERVQUAL model developed by Parasuraman, Zeithaml and Berry has been taken as the base of this variable, and the technology dimension was considered too. This study compiled the information of BCP, BBVA Continental, Scotiabank and Interbank clients through online surveys, under a non-probabilistic sampling. The study concludes that service quality has a positive impact on consumer satisfaction, as well as loyalty. Regarding the dimensions of service quality individually evaluated in relation to the consumer satisfaction only the tangibles, assurance and reliability have a positive impact on it, and in relation to the customer loyalty only assurance and reliability impact positively on this variable.

Full textIn recent years, the financial sector has been focusing their efforts in strengthening their relationship with clients and, largely, improving the experience of their clients. This is one of the main objectives of Banco de Crédito. Therefore, it is important that a study is carried out to evaluate the service quality in the attention channels focused on customer experience. There are several models to measure the service quality, but after the research found in the theoretical framework, it was established that SERVQUAL is one of the most recognized and accepted model. Furthermore, there are no validation studies for this model in bank agents around Metropolitan Lima. The objective of this study is to validate the SERVQUAL model applied to BCP agents around Metropolitan Lima, focusing on the perception of their clients through validation of the impact that their quality model has across their channel. Through statistical evidence it was found that, both dimensions (independent and dependent) have a consistent impact on the perceived service quality. Based on this information, the conclusions and recommendations presented at the end on this study allow for a concrete set of actions to improve the qualification of the service agent.
