This study focused on the design of the band-reject filter on the frequency of the Galileo satellite by providing bandwidth at the cut-off frequency equal to the bandwidth of the Galileo-E5a. The selecting of response characteristic is Butterworth's maximally flat, amplitude-frequency response of the band-reject filter. This poster shows the combination of the LPF and HPF to perform a band-reject filter. Therefore, there are two combinations also in designing for the band-reject filter. This combination aims to influence the performance of the band-reject filter. Band rejects filter design usi

Linear code combinations have been considered for suppressing the ionospheric error. In the L-band, this leads to an increased noise floor. In a combined L- and C-band (5010–5030 MHz) approach, the ionosphere can be eliminated and the noise floor reduced at the same time. Furthermore, combinations that involve both code- and carrier-phase measurements are considered. A new L-band code-carrier combination with a wavelength of 3.215 meters and a noise level of 3.92 centimeters is found. The double difference integer ambiguities of this combination can be resolved by extending the system of equat

Band selection is one of the main methods of reducing the number of dimensions in a hyperspectral image. Recently, various methods have been proposed to address this issue. However, these methods usually obtain the band subset in the perspective of a locally optimal solution. To achieve an optimal solution with a global perspective, this paper developed a novel method for hyperspectral band selection via optimal combination strategy (OCS). The main contributions are as follows: (1) a subspace partitioning approach is proposed which can accurately obtain the partitioning points of the subspace.

We suggest that the zinc-blende InN has a direct band gap of ~2 eV and an indirect band gap of ~0.7 eV located at L-points. Due to band folding effect, the wurtzite InN thus has a direct band gap of ~0.7 eV located at Γ3-point.

The arch form of the cambered band allows the transmission of tensile and compressive forces and of one moment. The flange of the roll changes the orientation of the bending radius axis by 90°. Abstract:
Drawing on a comprehensive compilation of quantile shares and inequality measures for 34 countries, including over 5,600 estimated Gini coefficient, we review the measurement of income inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean over the last seven decades. Although the evidence from the first quarter century roughly until the 1970s is too fragmentary and difficult to compare, clearer patterns emerge for last fifty years. The central feature of these patterns is a broad inverted U curve, with inequality rising in most countries prior to the 1990s, and falling during the early 21st Century, a

Abstract:
This research report describes a methodology whereby multi-spectral and hyperspectral imagery from remote sensing, is used for deriving predicted field maps of selected plant growth attributes which are required for precision cropping. A major task in precision cropping is to establish areas of the field that differ from the rest of the field and share a common characteristic. Yield distribution f maps can be prepared by yield monitors, which are available for some harvester types. Other field attributes of interest in precision cropping, e.g. soil properties, leaf Nitrate, biomass etc. are ob

Aoki, Kosuke, Enric Martorell, and Kalin Nikolov. Monetary policy, bank leverage and systemic risk-taking. Banco de España, 2025. https://doi.org/10.53479/39442.

Full text
Abstract:
We examine the interplay between monetary policy, bank risk-taking, and financial stability in a quantitative macroeconomic model with endogenous risk-taking by banks and systemic crises. Banks’ access to leverage depends on their charter value, which is itself affected by movements in the real interest rate. We find that permanent shifts in the long-term real interest rate have a significant impact on banks’ leverage and on their investments in systemically risky assets, while transitory movements have a more limited impact. We show that in the presence of systemic risk-taking, the systemic c

Full text
Abstract:
This paper studies firm-level factors shaping the enforcement of financial reporting regulation on private firms and proposes bank lending as a particularly important one. Our tests are based on a rare combination of data sets, which allows us to construct unique measures of misreporting, notably in the form of underreporting of debt. We observe that private firms with bank debt are more likely to file mandatory financial reports and less likely to file information with irregularities. While we also find evidence that the need for bank financing can induce firms to misreport, this concern is m

García Zaballos, Antonio, Félix González Herranz, and Enrique Iglesias Rodriguez. Methodology for the Broadband Development Index (IDBA) for Latin America and the Caribbean. Inter-American Development Bank, 2014. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0006977.

Full text
Abstract:
This discussion paper describes the methodology used to compute the Broadband Development Index (IDBA, Indice de Desarrollo de la Banda Ancha). The main goal of the IDBA is to size the Digital Divide in Latin America and the Caribbean by measuring the state of broadband development in the 26 Bank-member countries, as well as in additional reference countries (64 nations in total). The IDBA is a powerful tool to identify the magnitude of the gap in two different geographic approached, first when we compare the state of the art of one country versus the cluster region the country belongs to, and

Full text
Abstract:
Developing countries are driving the emergence of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) – digital versions of sovereign currencies issued by central banks. While CBDCs can potentially improve financial inclusion, improve payment systems, and increase tax collection in lower-income countries, they are also associated with a complex combination of operational and security risks. This research sheds light on the tax implications of CBDCs, including the potential risks and benefits of their implementation. It outlines some of their key features and considers challenges common to revenue authorit

Abstract:
The ‘From Emergency Food Security to Durable Livelihoods: Building Resilience in the Occupied Palestinian Territories’ project was implemented in the West Bank, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, between November 2015 and January 2018 by Oxfam, together with two partners: the Land Research Centre (LRC) and the Palestinian Livestock Development Centre (PLDC). The project, funded by the Belgian Cooperation, through Oxfam Italy, focused on improving protection around three key areas at community level to build resilience: supporting animal health, rehabilitating protected rangelands and stren

Abstract:
This paper explores the potential benefits and risks to tax administrations of implementing central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), a digital version of national currencies that is gaining momentum worldwide. It outlines some of the key features of CBDCs and then considers their implications for tax administration in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) generally. The emergence of CBDCs provides LMICs with a significant opportunity to improve financial inclusion, improve payment systems and increase tax collection. CBDCs provide greater transparency, security and traceability, which could

Full text
Abstract:
This paper first identifies the level of cyclical systemic risks in Spain, also calibrating their impact on the solvency of the banking system, and, second, assesses the costs and benefits of the countercyclical use of capital requirements. The first part of the paper is based on an integrated analysis of indicators and other quantitative and qualitative information, while impacts are calibrated using a combination of macroeconomic projection models and stress tests. The second part of the analysis is undertaken using quantile regression models, applied to European data, Bayesian time series m

Abstract:
Channel Islands National Park (CHIS) has conducted long-term ecological monitoring of the kelp forests around San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Anacapa and Santa Barbara Islands since 1982. The original permanent transects were established at 16 sites between 1981 and 1986 with the first sampling beginning in 1982, this being the 33rd year of monitoring. An additional site, Miracle Mile, was established at San Miguel Island in 2001 by a commercial fisherman with assistance from the park. Miracle Mile was partially monitored from 2002 to 2004, and then fully monitored (using all KFM protocols
