Since industrial and human activities have been developed, water quality intensely degrades in Hilla River, Iraq. Using remote sensing technology provides data for assessing and monitoring water quality in surface water bodies. Thus, in this study, Landsat 8 satellite images (2016 to 2021) were statistically tested for developing linear models capable of estimating water quality parameters in the river based on field data, including turbidity (turb), electric conductivity (EC), hydrogen ions (pH), total suspended solids (TSS), chloride ions (Cl), sulfate ions (SO4), Alkalinity (ALK), total har

Participatory water resource management assumes great significance in the changing context of fresh water availability and use. The forces of market economy, in most cases, have transformed the rural social scenario in such a way that community participation in resource management has become almost a far cry. But the Himalayan foothill area in Assam sets a good example of management and sharing of water resources by the communities living in the area in eco-friendly and socially just ways. A highlight of these early years was a trip to the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, Missouri, under the direction of John Parmalee Mann. His successor, Francis J. In Al x Ga1- x As close to the direct-to-indirect band gap semiconductor crossover composition (x c ≃ 0.43), alloy disorder mixes the wave functions of states in the Γ- and the X-conduction bands. This allows bimolecular recombination of electrons in the indirect bands without phonon participation (quasidirect transitions). At appropriate carrier densities stimulated emission out of the X valleys is observed for indirect Al x Ga1- x As with Al concentrations up to x = 0.52. Hyperspectral image (HSI) denoising has achieved promising results with the development of deep learning. A mainstream class of methods exploits the spatial-spectral correlations and recovers each band with the aids of neighboring bands, collectively referred to as spectral auxiliary networks. However, these methods treat entire adjacent spectral bands equally. In theory, clearer and nearer bands tend to contain more reliable spectral information than noisier and farther ones with higher uncertainties. How to achieve spectral enhancement and adaptation of each adjacent band has become an urgen

Abstract:
The elastic band structures of two-dimensional phononic crystal plates are computed with the help of a super-cell plane wave expansion (PWE) method. These band structures strongly differ from the infinite 2D phononic crystal dispersion curves. In particular, these band structures exhibit surface modes and guided modes. The influence of the constituent materials, of the plate thickness and of the geometry of the array on the band structure is investigated. We focus more specifically on determining the thicknesses of the plate for which absolute forbidden bands exist. Namely, we show that absolu

In 2021, the Learning Hub at The University of Sydney launched the Student Communication and Needs Analysis (SCANA). This program of support consists of a screening language task and associated support interventions in first year units of study (UoS). The self-marking online screening tool developed by the Language Testing Research Centre at The University of Melbourne classifies students into three bands, with Band 1 identifying students at risk of academic failure due to insufficient language proficiency. Plans are underway to create an acousto-optic laboratory on the campus of the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory. For this purpose, existing space in the basement of the Main Laboratory will be renovated. Demanding measurement techniques, such as interferometry, require a sufficiently quiet vibration environment (i.e., low vibration levels). As such, characterization of existing vibration conditions is necessary to determine vibration isolation requirements so that highly sensitive measurement activities are feasible. To this end, existing vibro-acoustic conditions were briefly s
