L'auteur fait un bref historique de l'introduction et de l'extension de la tique africaine Amblyomma variegatum aux Antilles. Son rôle vecteur dans la cowdriose et son association avec la dermatophilose grave rendent cette tique particulièrement dangereuse pour l'élevage. Elle est déjà répandue aux Petites Antilles de Porto Rico jusqu'à La Barbade et S. Vincent. La chronologie de son expansion soudaine et inexpliquée à partir des années soixante cadre bien avec la multiplication du héron garde-boeufs (Bubulcus ibis) dans cette région, alors que la tique ne s'était guère répandue pendant plus de 130 ans, avant l'arrivée dans l'hémisphère occidenta l de cet oiseau africain, qui est souvent infesté de larves de la tique et effectue des mouvements inter-îles importants. L'invasion à court terme du continent américain, avec ses conséquences néfastes pour l'élevage, paraît inévitable, à moins d'éliminer très vite la tique de toutes les îles infestées. L'éradication, tout en posant des problèmes d'ordre pratique, humain et social, est techniquement faisable et présente un rapport coût/bénéfice très positif

Abstract:

Une enquête séro-épidémiologique sur la cowdriose dans les Petites Antilles a été organisée en 1992, de la Grenade jusqu'à Saint-Martin. Un échantillon de 1 % des ruminants a été choisi au hasard et les sérums ont été analysés par ELISA indirect. Le pourcentage de sérums positifs était de 30 % à la Guadeloupe, 25 % à Antigua, 2,2 % à Saint-Martin, 1,3 % à St.Kitts et Nevis, 3,8 % à Montserrat, 1,7 % à Dominique, 1,5 % à Sainte-Lucie, 1,5 % à Saint-Vincent, 3,5 % à la Barbade, 2,9 % à la Grenade et de 7 % à la Martinique. On sait que la population de ruminants de la Guadeloupe et d'Antigua est infectée par la cowdriose. Le pourcentage faible de sérums positifs et l'absence de cas cliniques dans les autres îles suggèrent fortement que les sérums positifs dans ces îles sont probablement imputables à des réactions croisées non-spécifiques entre Cowdria et d'autres micro-organismes (peut-être Ehrlichia), qui restent à être identifiées. Cependant, il convient de porter une attention particulière aux pourcentages relativement élevés de moutons positifs à la Martinique (15 %) et à Montserrat (11 %).

Abstract:

Kult św. Barbary w środowisku zawodowym górników na przestrzeni ostatnich dwóch wieków przyjmował wiele zróżnicowanych form. Jego rozwój na Górnym Śląsku kształtował się od pierwszej połowy XIX stulecia i ma związek z intensywnym rozwojem przemysłu wydobywczego na tym obszarze. W artykule omówiono najbardziej charakterystyczne materialne i niematerialne przejawy czci oddawane św. Barbarze. Wspomniano o kościołach i kaplicach pod jej wezwaniem, obrazach i figurach przedstawiających patronkę górników w obiektach sakralnych oraz w rodzinach górniczych, modlitwach, a także o obchodzeniu 4 grudnia święta patronalnego i jednocześnie zawodowego, tzw. Barbórki, która (jako element tradycji górniczych, pielęgnowana w kolejnych pokoleniach górników) została w 2018 roku wpisana na krajową Listę Niematerialnego Dziedzictwa Kulturowego. W ostatnim czasie można zauważyć nowe praktyki wśród górników, np. wykonywanie tatuaży przedstawiających św. Barbarę.

The genus Sohmaea H.Ohashi & K.Ohashi (2018: 159) is characterized by predominantly linear loments with narrowly oblong-elliptic articles and comprises eight species, distributed in India through SE Asia to China and Taiwan (Ohashi & Ohashi 2018, Ohashi et al. 2018). The name Uraria barbata Lace (1915: 397) was described based on several gatherings from Myanmar. The proposed name U. barbata Lace was preoccupied for U. barbata (Linnaeus 1759: 1170) Desvaux (1826: 309) and thus, U. barbata Lace is a later homonym of the U. barbata (Linnaeus) Desvaux. Therefore, Iokawa et al. (2004: 226) proposed a replacement name U. barbaticaulis for U. barbata Lace. Later, Ohashi et al. (2018: 305) transferred the name U. barbaticaulis to Sohmaea barbaticaulis (Iokawa, T.Nemoto, J.Murata & H.Ohashi) H.Ohashi & K.Ohashi based on the phylogenetic study. The species is characterized by stems barbate, leaves dimorphic with 1-foliolate leaves in the upper portion and pinnately 3-foliolate leaves in the lower portion or 1-foliolate leaves throughout, leaflets large ovate, inflorescences axillary or terminal, pseudoracemes, fasciculate, (1 or) 2–4 per axil, flowers in clusters of 3–12 per node, loments plicate, hooked hairy (Iokawa et al. 2004, Ohashi et al. 2018, Tokaew et al. 2020). The species was earlier thought to be endemic to Myanmar until its new record from Thailand in 2020 (Lace 1915, De Haas et al. 1980, Kumar & Sane 2003, Iokawa et al. 2004, Tokaew et al. 2020), but being a rare species it is worthy of in situ monitoring for its conservation (Maxted et al. 2001, Marod & Kutintara 2012, Kawada et al. 2020, Murray et al. 2020, Perrino & Perrino 2020).

Prispevek na osnovi Zosimovega poročila in s pomočjo podatkov, ki jih prinašajo Pakatov panegirik v čast cesarju Teodoziju, poročila o uporu prebivalcev Tesalonike leta 390 ter 1. julija 391 izdani, na vse prebivalce provinc naslovljeni zakon o ravnanju v primeru napada razbojnikov, predstavlja možen potek in okoliščine te nad upornimi barbari izbojevane Teodozijeve zmage.

Et Laurent Bordelon (1653-1730) et le protagoniste de son Histoire des imaginations extravagantes de Monsieur Oufle (1710) occupent chacun une position d’excentrique au sein de notre histoire littéraire. Cette double marginalité nous invite à revisiter l’articulation entre littérature et barbarie. Le personnage donne l’exemple d’une barbarie à la fois érudite et bestiale, au terme de laquelle la littérature peut faire de l’homme un loup-garou pour l’homme. L’auteur dénonce cette barbarie en s’exilant des conventions littéraires, en se faisant lui-même un barbare incapable de parler la langue commune du récit. L’analyse détaillée d’un épisode de cet antiroman pose non seulement la question de savoir comment on peut devenir loup-garou, alors même que nous savons que les loups-garous n’existent pas. Elle nous pousse surtout à nous demander ce que c’est qu’un « esprit », aussi bien à l’échelle de l’individu qu’à celle du public. On en conclut que l’esprit relève non d’une psychologie, mais d’une médiologie : l’antiroman de Monsieur Oufle nous aide à voir que notre esprit consiste en une circulation médiatique, et que la littérature, telle qu’elle a pris sa forme moderne un siècle après la parution de ce texte, n’a fait qu’approfondir le besoin obstiné qu’éprouvait Bordelon de résister à cette circulation en l’évidant de toute crédibilité.

The gnorimoschemine taxa (of the gelechiid moths) Insuloschema barbarae gen. n., sp. n. and two species of the genus Keiferia Busck, 1939, viz. Keiferia educata sp. n. and Keiferia powelli sp. n. are described from California. The first taxon is obviously endemic to one of the most interesting Channel Islands called Santa Barbara and it corroborates its unique history. The two newly described species of Keiferia enrich essentially the number of species existing in California and in the Nearctic realm generally. W artykule omówiono literacki wizerunek królowej Bony w polskich dramatach dziewiętnasto- i dwudziestowiecznych oraz podjęto próbę zrozumienia jego genezy. Akcja większości omawianych utworów, napisanych w XIX i na początku XX wieku, zainspirowana jest burzliwymi losami małżeństwa Zygmunta Augusta z Barbarą Radziwiłłówną, a postać Bony, odmalowana w ciemnych barwach, przeciwstawiona jest nadmiernie wyidealizowanej postaci Barbary. Królową z rodu Sforzów ukazano jako kobietę zaślepioną nienawiścią i żądną władzy, sprytną i pozbawioną skrupułów intrygantkę, bezlitosną trucicielkę, a także cudzoziemkę, która działa na szkodę Polaków i wprowadza w życie kontrowersyjne nauki swojego rodaka Machiavellego. Ten negatywny wizerunek, niezgodny z rzeczywistością historyczną, z biegiem lat coraz bardziej traci na wyrazistości, by zmienić się radykalnie w utworach powstałych po drugiej wojnie światowej za sprawą bardziej krytycznego ukazania Barbary. Ze złej i wrogiej Polsce monarchini Bona staje się mądrą władczynią i dalekowzrocznym politykiem, broniącym interesów przybranej ojczyzny. W dalszej części artykułu omówiono skrajnie różny sposób przedstawienia królowej Bony w dwóch dramatach rozgrywających się w Bari i niezainspirowanych małżeństwem Zygmunta Augusta. Dodatkowo ukazano dzieje sceniczne jednego z tych utworów.

Abstract:

The article shows 12 dialectal phrasemes appearing in numerous variants concerning phonology (e.g. żarło/zarło), inflection (e.g. oko/oczy), word formation (e.g. woza/wózka) and lexis (most numerous). Euphemisms are interesting types (e.g. diabli/bogowie, gówno/ kompot). The analysis of numerous variants of a given phraseme confirms A.M. Lewicki’s thesis (1976) that it is the semantic and syntactic patterns, rather than particular lexemes that determine the identity of a phraseological expression. For example, the two expressions coś komuś strzeliło do łba and pizło komuś do czepani are regarded as variants of one phrase, although their lexis is different. Examining phraseme variants rather than particular appearances makes understanding of their meaning (eg. Objechał kraki maki versus Uobjechał Krakóf i Makóf) and strange syntax (eg. Święta Barbara po lodzie... versus Jak na świętą Barbarę chodzi gęś po lodzie...) possible.

Abstract:

Esta nota analiza los presupuestos sobre los que el escritor italiano Alessandro Baricco desarrolla su interpretación del fenómeno denominado mutación antropológica. La perspectiva elegida consiste en proponer un diálogo crítico entre la concepción posmoderna que el escritor expone en su obra I barbari. Saggio sulla mutazione y la postura que adoptó su colega Pier Paolo Pasolini en la Italia de los años sesenta y setenta. En primer lugar, se investiga cuál fue la interpretación pasoliniana de esa realidad que lo llevará a aplicar por primera vez la denominación de mutación antropológica, sus orígenes, consecuencias y futuras proyecciones. Luego, el estudio se centra en las relaciones entre la definición de “barbarie” en Pasolini y la de “bárbaros” en Baricco. Finalmente, la nota justifica las afinidades (y diferencias) entre ambos autores a raíz de la importancia que cobra la mutación antropológica en la evolución de la humanidad.

Abstract:

Omówienie książki Barbary Hollender Od Munka do Maślony (2017), która jest trzecim ogniwem cyklu po poprzednio wydanych tomach Od Wajdy do Komasy (2014) i Od Kutza do Czekaja (2016). Ciężar gatunkowy tej pracy nie sprowadza się do dokumentacji, a ambicją Hollender nie było stworzenie leksykonu. Jej książka stanowi niebanalną rekonstrukcję biograficzną, która opiera się na świadectwach reżyserów, jednak ostatecznie swój kształt zawdzięcza ich rozmówczyni – autorce. Barbara Hollender opisała przemiany kulturowe, które wpłynęły na kształt dzisiejszego polskiego kina. Wyróżniła kilka punktów granicznych związanych z historią najnowszą, poczynając od polskiej szkoły filmowej, przez kino moralnego niepokoju, które w drugiej połowie lat 70. wyraziło jej – wówczas młodej dziewczyny – własny bunt i osobiste tęsknoty. Ostatnim z tych punktów, szczególnie eksponowanym, jest przemiana ustrojowa po 1989 r. Narracja jest prowadzona ponad podziałami zarówno generacyjnymi, jak i tymi wynikającymi z doświadczenia czy stylu. Bohaterowie książki, nawet jeśli należą do jednego pokolenia, nie tworzą wspólnych manifestów ani nie realizują jednolitego – światopoglądowo czy estetycznie – programu. Portret zbiorowy rozszczepia się na wyraziste, zindywidualizowane wizerunki.

Praca zbiorowa Ryszard Bolesławski. Jego twórczość i jego czasy – Richard Boleslavsky. His Work and His Times (2018) pod redakcją Barbary Osterloff została wydana przez warszawską Akademię Teatralną i jest pokłosiem międzynarodowej sesji poświęconej temu artyście. Każdy z tekstów został wydrukowany w dwóch wersjach językowych – polskiej i angielskiej. Obok tekstów autorów polskich (m.in. Barbara Osterloff, Marek Kulesza, Joanna Wojnicka, Patrycja Włodek, Maciej Wojtyszko) znajdziemy tam eseje badaczy amerykańskich (Tino Balio czy Sharon Marie Carnicke) bądź rosyjskich (Siergiej Czerkasski, Polina Stiepanowa, Nadieżda Szybajewa). Bolesławski (1889-1937) był reżyserem teatralnym i filmowym, aktorem i nauczycielem aktorstwa, a także autorem teorii gry aktorskiej, którą sformułował w zbiorze wykładów Aktorstwo. Sześć pierwszych lekcji. Zrobił karierę w Hollywood (zrealizował tam dwadzieścia filmów), jednak pozostaje niedoceniony w ojczyźnie. Tom ma przywrócić mu należne miejsce w rodzimej historii teatru i filmu. Prezentuje szeroką skalę jego aktywności artystycznej, unikając jednak tonu hagiograficznego. Na uwagę zasługują zwłaszcza teksty poświęcone jego teorii aktorstwa, która zyskała rangę międzynarodową i jest praktykowana do dziś.

A estrutura em comprimento dos estoques de quatro espécies de grandes bagres pimelodídeos foi utilizada para se estudar a dinâmica de suas populações na bacia do rio Cuiabá, Pantanal norte. Foram estimados os parâmetros de crescimento, recrutamento e mortalidade para as espécies. Das espécies estudadas o Barbado apresentou o crescimento mais rápido que as demais, que exibiram taxas de crescimento similares. Para o Barbado e o Pintado foram encontrados dois picos anuais de recrutamento, já o Cachara e o Jaú apresentaram um único pico anual. A análise da mortalidade indica que a pesca é uma fonte de mortalidade muito mais importante para o Barbado que para as demais espécies.

Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia drażliwej problematyki donosów na Żydów w czasie okupacji. Materiał do analizy stanowi literatura polska poszerzona o świadectwa wspomnieniowe i pamiętnikarskie. Punktem wyjścia i ważnym kontekst intelektualnym jest pionierska książka Barbary Engelking „szanowny panie gistapo”. Donosiciele ― działając anonimowo, przez co niekiedy bardziej niebezpieczni od szmalcowników ― zwykle w swym zajęciu nie widzieli niczego nagannego moralnie. Tymczasem była to jedna z bardziej groźnych i ohydnych profesji w czasie wojny. Artykuł weryfikuje również potoczne przekonanie o niewielkiej skali tego zjawiska. Wydaje się, a zaświadczają o tym między innymi teksty literackiej, że była istna plaga okupacji. Lęk przed wzrokiem szantażysty czy donosiciela był uczuciem, które znało wielu ukrywających się Żydów. Za Barbarą Engelking autor traktuje donos jako formę kolaboracji, ukrytej współpracy z nazistami w realizacji ich potwornego celu. Jednym z istotniejszych zagadnień, jakie podejmuje autor artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie o przyczyny, dla których wydawano Żydów. Wśród ważniejszych powodów trzeba wymienić: chęć zagarnięcia mienia ofiary, frustrację, poczucie siły i władzy, jaką dawała anonimowość sprawcy, ale też antysemityzm oraz nienawiść na tle rasowym.

L'articolo prende spunto dalla considerazione dei rapidi mutamenti della societŕ attuale intesi come fattori che influiscono nel contesto clinico della terapia di coppia. La tesi di Bauman circa la societŕ "liquida" e le sue dinamiche relazionali viene messa a confronto con l'idea di Baricco espressa nel libro I Barbari circa la genesi di modalitŕ nuove di vivere l'esperienza. L'articolo si sofferma su alcuni concetti come: «rete di sistemi passanti e fluiditŕ», che ben si adattano alla descrizione degli aspetti fondanti le relazioni affettive che Bauman evidenzia come caratteristiche di rapporti che assomigliano di piů a "connessioni" intese come legami condensati e superficiali per proteggere dal rischio di coinvolgimenti affettivi avvertiti come obblighi. Il cambiamento riguarderebbe aspetti importanti della vita e delle relazioni interpersonali come ad esempio: la superficie al posto della profonditŕ, le sequenze e la velocitŕ al posto della riflessione. In generale la descrizione della societŕ "barbara" e della societŕ "liquida" si fonda sulla tesi di una mutazione profonda del concetto di "esperienza" e di una nuova dislocazione del concetto di «senso nel tessuto dell'esperienza».

Las Odi Barbare de Giosuè Carducciconstituyen un hito mundial en la poesía que imita las formasmétricas grecolatinas, tanto por su altura poética como porsu precisión técnica. Carducci sortea el insoluble problemade trasvasar los esquemas cuantitativos clásicos medianteel sistema acentual italiano y la reproducción rítmica delmodelo. Dentro de los 55 textos que componen las OdiBarbare, hemos escogido, para su traducción y exégesis,el poema “Nevicata”. Está escrito en dísticos elegíacosgriegos, canónicamente compuestos por un hexámetro yun pentámetro. Con su métrica clasicista, Carducci renuevala poesía italiana moderna, y se convierte en referenciapermanente para la poesía occidental.Giosuè Carducci’s Odi Barbare is aparamount reference for modern poetry in the Westernworld. Their technical perfection and their poetic excellencegrant them a leading place among poems which imitateclassical versification. As it is impossible to use long andshort syllables in modern languages to reproduce Greekand Roman schemes of poetry, Carducci employs a blendof stressed and unstressed syllables to imitate the rhythmof his models. From the 55 Odi Barbare, we have selected“Nevicata” to be translated and studied. Its pattern is Greekelegiac couplet (or distich), composed of a hexameter anda pentameter. Odi Barbare by Carducci stimulates andinnovates the modern Italian poetry. It becomes a permanentreference for poetry in our Western culture.

Abstract:

Le nouveau barbare est l’une des catégories essentielles des nouvelles écritures ivoiriennes. Contrairement au barbare primitif, il se manifeste à travers un fort régime du corps impur. À partir de deux textes, En attendant le vote des bêtes sauvages et Les Naufragés de l’intelligence, cet article s’interroge sur les formes et les enjeux de la représentation d’un tel personnage. Dans une démarche toute postmoderne, l’on a fait le constat d’une figure fictionnelle qui se caractérise par la superficialité, mieux par l’hypersexualité, l’hyperphagie, la l’anthropophagie, la schizomanie, la volubilité, la verbosité et d’autres excès liés à la décharge du corps. Il devient alors le prototype du personnage postmoderne dont les points de flexion sont la déraison, l’anti-raison, l’impureté. Cette stratégie de figuration et de défiguration du barbare aboutit à une écriture transgénérique et au dévoilement sarcastique des pouvoirs politiques africains.
