Abstract:

Coronapandemin är en ny samhällskris som är sparsamt beforskad varför olika perspektiv på coronaviruset behövs. Denna artikel bidrar till att fördjupa kunskapen om barns uttryck om coronaviruset bland annat genom att analysera personalens beskrivningar av barns uttryck kring coronavirusets utbrott i Finland och Sverige i daghems- och förskolekontext i mars 2020. Det empiriska materialet består av 79 enkätsvar från personal i förskola och daghem. Begreppen deltagande och resiliens har använts som teoretisk bakgrund och dessa diskuteras i artikeln. Barnen visar på fyra olika former av deltagande i daghem och förskola. Artikeln bidrar till att sätta barns deltagande i relation till en samhällskris som coronapandemin samt visar på ett mångfacetterat deltagande. Resultatet av studien kan få implikationer både på förhållningssätt och arbetsmetoder i samband med kriser.

Abstract:

Studien syftar till att bidra med en fördjupad förståelse av hur barns växtblindhet kan förebyggas genom en närstudie av hur barn uppfattar och använder en skogsträdgård. Det teoretiska ramverket utgår från barndomsforskning och dess antagande om det aktiva, sociala och kompetenta barnet. Studien omfattar 28 barn, varav majoriteten är 9 år, som medverkat via samtalspromenader med fotografering. Gibsons begrepp affordances har använts som analysverktyg. Analysen tar avstamp i de fotograferade företeelser som barnen anser är betydelsefulla, minnesvärda och speciella i skogsträdgården. Studiens resultat visar att växterna inklusive träd och buskar är framträdande företeelser genom de sinnliga, estetiska och emotionella affordances som de enligt barnens beskrivningar erbjuder. Denna studie indikerar att skogsträdgårdens miljö och skogsträdgårdspedagogernas edagogiska arbetssätt i olika miniprojekt med växter kan förebygga barns växtblindhet. Studiens slutsats är att det är dags att planera för att plantera i barns närliggande utomhusmiljö.

Abstract:

Denna artikel undersöker pedagogers och barns agenda under tre bokstunder med högläsning av bilderböcker i en språkbads-förskolegrupp. Samtliga barn har en finskspråkig bakgrund och lär sig svenska i förskolan. Analyser av de videofilmade bokstunderna har gjorts med en sociokulturell och diskursanalytisk infallsvinkel. Resultaten visar att pedagogerna fokuserar på barnens språkförståelse och språkutveckling, medan barnen på eget initiativ och genom estetiska förhållningssätt riktar sin uppmärksamhet mot den egna upplevelsen av bokens innehåll. Barnens handlingar visar också att det är centralt för dem att uppfylla vissa förväntningar på hur bokstunder ska gå till. De bidrar därmed till att upprätthålla bokstunden på ett bestämt sätt. Pedagogernas koncentration på språk kan ses som naturlig eftersom språkstödjande handlingar främjar barnens förståelse av boken. Däremot får barnen knapphändigt stöd för sin läslust och få utmaningar när det gäller att utgående från sina egna tankar, föreställningar eller tolkningar förhålla sig till bokens innehåll. Abstract:

Syftet är att analysera undervisning i förskolan. Analyserna utgår från kvalitetsbedömningar med Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-3 (ECERS-3) (Harms, Clifford och Cryer 2014). Hög kvalitet i förskolan främjar barns lärande inom läroplanens målområden. Artikelns teoretiska ram utgörs av interaktionistiska och ekologiska teorier som innebär att individer och miljö konstruerar varandra i ett dynamiskt och ömsesidigt samspel (Bronfenbrenner 1979, 1986; Bruner 1996; Vygotsky 1986). Undervisning i förskolan definieras i texten som kommunikativ, interaktiv och relationell och behöver förstås i en samhällelig kontext. Kvalitetsbedömningar har genomförts i 153 svenska förskolor med ECERS-3. Resultaten visar att förskolans kvalitet varierar. Låg kvalitet bedöms på aktiviteter som kräver vuxnas engagemang, interaktion och kommunikation med barnen i form av undervisning. Det indikerar att förskollärares kompetens bildar en skärningspunkt för undervisningens kvalitet. Ytterligare forskning behövs för att utveckla förskolans undervisning och didaktik, vilket gynnar såväl barngruppen som enskilda barn och bidrar till en kompetenshöjning hos förskollärarna.

Denna artikel diskuterar hur begreppen barnperspektiv och barns perspektiv definieras i nordisk forskning, och hur barns aktörskap framkommer i dessa texter. Tillämpningen av närliggande begrepp, som barns röster, inflytande och kompetens, belyses också. Artikelns utgångspunkt är att barnet föds som aktör: Barn, liksom vuxna, påverkar ständigt andra, direkt genom sina handlingar och indirekt som kroppar som befinner sig i andras närvaro eller tanke. Barn, liksom vuxna, är kompetenta och handlingskraftiga likaväl som sårbara och beroende av sina relationer. Artikeln lyfter fram vikten av att studera barns påverkan på vuxna och samhället som ett betydelsefullt kunskapstillskott. Den visar att forskningstexter som definierar begreppen barnperspektiv och barns perspektiv ofta positionerar barn som passiva, och som helt beroende av vuxenvärldens tolkningar och förståelse. Barns aktörskap belyses i mindre grad. Artikeln ger förslaget att barns aktörskap analyseras som två delar: barns inflytande och barns påverkan. Barns inflytande används för att undersöka barns reella inflytande på beslut och handlingar i sociala situationer, och barns påverkan för att studera barns direkta och indirekta påverkan på andra och den värld som omger dem.

Abstract:

Denna artikel behandlar barns ledarskap. Syftet är att uppmärksamma relationer mellan barn och ledarskap och att vidga vokabulären kring barns ledarskap. Inledningsvis behandlas betydelser av barns ledarskap utifrån forskning som fokuserat på förekomsten av informellt ledarskap inom institutioner som förskola och skola. Här noteras att forskningen ger en begränsad förståelse av barns ledarskap och detta aktualiserar behov av teoretiskt utvecklande studier på området. Föreliggande artikel introducerar variationsrika exempel på barns ledarskap och därigenom öppnas möjligheter till att förstå fenomenet som ett aktuellt, svårgripbart och omtvistat fenomen. I artikeln uppmärksammas betydelser av formellt ledarskap inom idrottsorganisationer jämte populärkulturens Baby-bossen och Tonårsbossen. Dessa exempel låter utkristallisera två typer av ledarskap, det ekonomiska respektive det demokratiska. Artikeln aktualiserar avslutningsvis möjligheter till en empiriskt grundad förståelse som låter oss teoretisera barns ledarskap och ledarskap-för-barn i olika sammanhang utifrån diskussioner om agency inom barndomssociologin.

Rachel Barney proposes that Plato’s theory of the tripartite soul is plausibly compared to scientific theories today. I depart from Barney by proposing that the tripartite soul is a model and that its status is hypothetical. And I raise four questions: (1) What follows from the Plato-science comparison, as Barney conceives of it? (2) Which questions emerge if science is looked at in the sophisticated mode that Barney employs in her discussion of Plato? (3) Current science invokes a multitude of subsystems relevant to motivation. Why compare it with tripartition? Stoic psychology may share more fundamental ideas with current science, including the premise that all goings-on in the soul are physiological movements. (4) If tripartition is a model, why would one expect it to account for all dimensions of epistemic activity?

Abstract Net zoals een kunstenaar als Michelangelo Buonarroti (1476-1564) zich profileerde als beeldhouwer, schilder, architect en poëet, laveert Matthew Barney (1967) moeiteloos tussen verschillende hedendaagse kunstvormen.Het oeuvre van de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Matthew Barney bestaat uit performance, fotografie, tekeningen, designobjecten en film. Niet toevallig werd hij in 1989 door een kunstcriticus omgedoopt tot “De Michelangelo van de genitale kunst”. Dit had niet alleen te maken met de vele naakte atletische lichamen in zijn oeuvre. De verwantschap tussen Barney (1967) en Michelangelo (1476-1564) is groter dan men zou verwachten. Senne Schrayen trekt in dit artikel een parallel tussen de lopende performancereeks Drawing Restraint (gestart in 1987) van Barney en de presentatietekeningen van Michelangelo uit 1532 vanuit een transhistorische invalshoek en met aandacht voor het maakproces van de tekeningen. Just as Michelangelo Buonarroti (1476-1564) worked as a sculptor, painter, architect and poet, Matthew Barney (1967) switches smoothly between various contemporary art forms. The oeuvre of this US artist includes performance, photography, drawing, design and film. Not coincidentally an art critic, writing in 1989, dubbed him 'The Michelangelo of genital art' and this was not just because of the many athletic nudes that people his oeuvre. The parallels between Barney (1967) and Michelangelo (1476-1564) are greater than one might think. In the article Senne Schrayen makes a comparison between Barney's current series of performances (started in 1987) called Drawing Restraint and Michelangelo's drawings of 1532 from a transhistorical perspective and giving close attention to the process of making the drawing.

Abstract:

In this article we will try to offer a new interpretation of the video art work of the artist Matthew Barney (California, 1967) the Cremaster Cycle, approaching a more humanistic and less biological vision, the last one being the principal study aspect for the experts on Matthew Barney. We will focus on the character of the Magician, a key figure in the Cremaster Cycle. The Magician lighting the pass to a possible interpretation of the Cycle in Renaissance key, the magician character while being a personification of aesthetic- artistic interests of Matthew Barney is also an approximation to the ideal of the Renaissance man: philosopher, magician, healer. Alter-ego of Matthew Barney, the escape artist Harry Houdini represents (and through him all other magical branches) a possible link with the powerful magician Renaissance described by the philosopher Giordano Bruno (1548-1600), able to metamorphose, influence in the sensitivities of his objects, through self-knowledge and knowledge of the Divine.

Abstract:

The aim of this cross-sectional field study was to describe climatic status in dairy barns during winter conditions both in lowland and in mountainous regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. While all the mountain herds had tie-stall systems (MT), eight of the lowland herds had group housing systems (LG) and the remaining 30 herds had tie-stall systems (LT). The mean indoor air temperature (T<sub>i</sub>) was around 10 °C across types of barns and in all herds T<sub>i</sub> was above 0 °C. The mean relative air humidity (RH) was actually highest in the LT-group, but within the recommended level for both LG, LT and MT barns. At the 15 % of the MT barns, 17 % of the LT barns and 38 % of the LG barns the air velocity was > 0.2 m/s. The level of NH<sub>3</sub> was quite low in all groups of barns, although somewhat higher in LT-barns. In none of the barns the level of NH3 exceeded 3 ppm. Only in one barn (a MT-barn) the level of CO<sub>2</sub> exceeded 3000 ppm. We conclude that the climatic status in most dairy barns in Bosnia and Herzegovina during winter seem to be acceptable.

Abstract:

Rammeplan for barnehagen vektlegger at barnehagen skal bidra til barns trivsel, men det er uvissthvordan ansatte i barnehagen vurderer ulike faktorers betydning for barns trivsel. Et spørreskjemable sendt til 25 norske barnehager for å undersøke hvordan de ansatte vurderte faktorersom påvirker 3–6-åringers trivsel, og hvordan de tilrettelegger for barns trivsel. De 105 respondentenevurderte psykiske, fysiske og sosiale forhold som svært viktig for barns trivsel, samtidig som litt over halvparten vurderte kognitive forhold som viktig. Kognitive forhold med større krav til læring og skoleforberedende aktiviteter kan utfordre den tradisjonelle barnehagepedagogikken som er preget av lek, trygghet og sosiale forhold. Barnehagens utemiljø ble vurdert sombedre tilrettelagt for barns trivsel enn innemiljøet. Ansatte med lengre ansiennitet vurderte at de bedre ivaretar og fremmer barns trivsel sammenliknet med ansatte med kortere ansiennitet. Resultatene viser at ansatte vurderer trivsel ulikt, noe som utfordrer praksisfeltet og barns trivsel i barnehagen.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to determine N recovery and irreversible losses (i.e., through NH3-N volatilization) from manure in two different housing systems throughout a year using an N mass balance approach. Dietary, milk, and manure N were monitored together with outside temperatures in six dairy barns during six months, comprising two different seasons. Three barns were designed as conventional free stalls (cubicle, CUB) and the other three barns as compost-bedded packs (CB). All the barns were located in the Ebro’s valley, in the northeast of Spain. Mass N balance was performed simultaneously in the six barns, during two three-month periods (Season I and II) and sampling at a 15-day interval. Results of ANOVA analysis showed that annual N retained in manure (kg/head per year) from cows housed in CUB barns was significantly higher than in manure from cows housed in CB (133.5 vs. 70.9, p < 0.001), while the opposite was observed for N losses (26.9 vs. 84.8, for CUB and CB barn, respectively; p < 0.005). The annual mean proportion of irreversible N loss from manure in relation to N intake was much lower in barns using conventional free-stall cubicles than the mean ratio registered in bedded pack systems barns.

Abstract. Interest and concern is growing regarding sustainability of agricultural production systems including pork production. Information on the electrical and thermal energy consumption of pork production systems in the Midwestern United States is scarce. Understanding how swine production systems utilize electrical and thermal energy will help determine how this consumption can be reduced. This study evaluated the electrical and thermal energy (heating fuel) use of six commercial swine barns located in west central Minnesota. All barns were representative of typical Midwestern pork production systems. Energy monitoring was done on two barns from each stage of production: two breed-to-wean barns, two nursery barns, and two finishing barns. Breed-to-Wean Barn A used an average of 11.36 kWh and 1.29 L of propane per weaned pig produced. Breed-to-Wean Barn B used an average of 11.9 kWh and 1.17 L of propane per weaned pig produced. Heat lamps used at least 58% of the total electrical energy in both barns. Nursery Barn A and B used an average of 2.4 and 2.1 kWh and 1.63 and 1.55 L of propane per feeder pig produced, respectively. Ventilation fans used at least 50% of the total electricity in both barns. The tunnel-ventilated finishing barn used an average of 14.4 kWh and 1.29 L of propane per finished pig produced, and the curtain-sided finishing barn used an average of 4.1 kWh and 1.85 L of propane per finished pig produced. Ventilation accounted for 72% and 81% of the total electrical energy in the tunnel-ventilated and curtain-sided finishing barns, respectively. These data will be useful in targeting specific areas of pork production that have potential for improved energy efficiency. ABSTRACTDuring 1 year, samples were taken on 4 days, one sample in each season, from pigs, the floor, and the air inside pig barns and from the ambient air and soil at different distances outside six commercial livestock-associated methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureus(LA-MRSA)-positive pig barns in the north and east of Germany. LA-MRSA was isolated from animals, floor, and air samples in the barn, showing a range of airborne LA-MRSA between 6 and 3,619 CFU/m3(median, 151 CFU/m3). Downwind of the barns, LA-MRSA was detected in low concentrations (11 to 14 CFU/m3) at distances of 50 and 150 m; all upwind air samples were negative. In contrast, LA-MRSA was found on soil surfaces at distances of 50, 150, and 300 m downwind from all barns, but no statistical differences could be observed between the proportions of positive soil surface samples at the three different distances. Upwind of the barns, positive soil surface samples were found only sporadically. Significantly more positive LA-MRSA samples were found in summer than in the other seasons both in air and soil samples upwind and downwind of the pig barns.spatyping was used to confirm the identity of LA-MRSA types found inside and outside the barns. The results show that there is regular airborne LA-MRSA transmission and deposition, which are strongly influenced by wind direction and season, of up to at least 300 m around positive pig barns. The described boot sampling method seems suitable to characterize the contamination of the vicinity of LA-MRSA-positive pig barns by the airborne route.

Syftet med denna artikel är att mot bakgrund av förskolans bildningsideal och betydelsen av att göra bruk av barns perspektiv bidra till diskussionen om undervisningsbegreppets innebörd i ett förskoleperspektiv. Forskningsfrågan är hur undervisning i förskolan kan förstås i såväl spontant uppkomna som planerade undervisningssituationer, då barns perspektiv beaktas i relation till lärandets innehåll. Med utgångspunkt i empiri synliggörs och diskuteras didaktiska förhållningssätt som rör förskollärarens roll i relation till barns perspektiv och aktuellt objekt för lärande. Förskollärare i Sverige har som uppdrag att hantera såväl spontant uppkomna som planerade lek- och lärandetillfällen där barns erfarenheter och kunnande integreras, stöds och utmanas i ett undervisande syfte. Diskussionen belyser beaktande av barns perspektiv som en utgångspunkt för undervisningsbegreppets definition samt väcker frågor kring utveckling och förändring av såväl förskollärares kompetens som förskolans verksamhet. Artikeln avslutas med reflektioner kring den svenska förskolans bildningstradition relaterat till nya uppdrag och möjliga vägar.
