Este artigo propõe discutir as relações entre ancestralidade e inutilidade na obra poética de Manoel de Barros, com base nas considerações do antropólogo brasileiro Eduardo Viveiros de Castro e dos pensadores alemães Theodor Adorno e Walter Benjamin, abordando a importância da ascendência indígena para o homem e para o poeta Manoel de Barros. Palavras-chave: Manoel de Barros; Poesia; Ancestralidade; Inutilidade.

Resumo O presente trabalho visa a analisara temporalidade no projeto poético de Manoel de Barros em Livro sobre nada (1996), especialmente, no que diz respeito aos aforismos barrianos. O propósito deste artigo é aproximar o pensar do filósofo Martin Heideg­ger e o poetar do poeta Manoel de Barros. O fio condutor por onde se construirá a análise tem como problemática a relação entre útil e inútil, presente tanto na filosofia de Heidegger, quanto na poesia de Manoel de Barros. E perpassa a se­guinte questão: tomando como ponto de partida a atividade do pensar (meditativo) em Heidegger e a poesia (poética do inútil) em Barros, de que forma é possível situar o pensamento fora da esfera meramente instrumental e utilitarista que, costumeiramente, entendemos fundar toda ação na contemporaneidade? E mais: como a filosofia de Heidegger e a poesia de Manoel de Barros podem trazer luz a este modo de pensar e agir? Quais os traços característicos que aproximam ambos, filósofo e poeta? Esta problemática nos levará a supor que, no caso de Heidegger e Manoel de Barros, o que comunga a filosofia e a poesia vai muito além da linguagem. O caminho empreendido para tal propósito trata da cons­trução argumentativa e comparativa, entrelaçando ambos autores e tendo como fundamentação teórica suas principais obras que permeiam a questão do útil e do inútil, seja do ponto de vista da filosofia ou da poesia.

Manoel de Barros se traduziu na liberdade e no encantamento dos versos, em um trabalho artesanal com as palavras. Na linguagem, construiu um infinito particular, onde desvela muito mais do que as belezas do Pantanal, mas a grandeza do homem e da vida, uma poesia contemporânea que dialoga com a tradição simbolista e moderna. Exemplo disso é O livro das Ignorãças, no qual o autor apresenta seu percurso criativo e as origens de sua criação poética, transformando o ínfimo, o nada e as miudezas em pura poesia. Assim, este trabalho apresenta um pouco do projeto poético de Barros, especialmente no livro em questão, refletindo sobre seu processo criativo de acordo com algumas das teorias da criação poética. *** The unlimits of the word of Manoel de Barros ***Manoel de Barros translated himself into the freedom and enchantment of the verses, in a handcrafted work with words. In language, he constructed a particular infinite, where he unveils much more than the beauties of Pantanal, but the greatness of man and life, contemporary poetry that dialogues with the symbolism and modern tradition. A great example is O livro das Ignorãças, in which the author presents his creative journey and the origins of his poetic creation, transforming the tiny, the nothingness and the offal into pure poetry. Thus, this paper presents a little of the poetic project of Barros, especially in this book, reflecting on its creative process according to some poetic creation theories.Keywords: Poetry; Manoel de Barros; Modern lyric; Poetic creation.

<p><em>Des-inventar </em>o ato poético, ou <em>des-escrever a </em>poesia, eis a tarefa a que se dedicam, respectivamente, Manoel de Barros e Yves Bonnefoy. O poeta mato-grossense e o poeta francês, tão afastados no espaço, aproximam-se de modo inegável na reflexão que empreendem do ato poético: contrários a todo movimento de conceitualização e de gramaticalização que põe a perder a poesia, Manoel de Barros e Yves Bonnefoy propõem uma volta às origens, um regresso à fundação da palavra poética, a seu diálogo estreito com o mundo, com suas coisas e seus seres.</p> <p><em>Desinventar </em>l’acte poétique ou <em>désécrire </em>la poésie: voici la tâche à laquelle se vouent respectivement Manoel de Barros et Yves Bonnefoy. Le poète du Mato Grosso et le poète français, bien qu’éloignés dans l’espace, s’approchent de manière indéniable par la réflexion qui proposent sur le faire poétique : contre tout mouvement de conceptualisation et de grammaticalisation qui font perdre la poésie, Manoel de Barros et Yves Bonnefoy proposent un retour aux origines, à la fondation de la parole poétique, au dialogue raproché .</p>

Este artigo tem como objetivo trazer reflexões acerca de alguns elementos das obras de Joan Miró e Manoel de Barros, propondo possibilidades críticas de diálogo constelatório que tem como referência artistas que se encontram em campos diferentes da arte e também de produção. Buscamos nosso referencial de análise em Adorno (1970; 2000; 2003), Adorno e Horkheimer (1985) e Benjamin (1994). Portanto, trata-se de uma sistematização bibliográfica pautada na Teoria Crítica. Joan Miró e Manoel de Barros apresentaram obras que, do ponto de vista instrumental, poderiam não atender a expectativas utilitárias, mas carregam traços de resistência, estranheza e luta contra uma produção cultural vinculada à ideologia dominante. Desta forma, acreditamos que levar essas reflexões para a escola, valorizando a formação estética dos sujeitos, é essencial na busca contínua por emancipação e liberdade. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Joan Miró. O texto aborda a interface entre história, memória e narrativa literária na obra de Manoel de Barros. Exploram-se aspectos da trajetória desse sujeito histórico, Manoel de Barros, que se deu ao longo de quase todo o século XX e terminou na segunda década do século XXI, cotejando a memória poética instituída sobre o autor com questões sociais, políticas e históricas que permeiam sua obra, visando a reflexão sobre literatura e sociedade.

Este trabalho analisa algumas características da obra poética de Manoel de Barros a partir da postura autoexplicativa de seu texto. Com base em alguns aspectos da fenomenologia, apoiados também na proposta de monologismo bakhtiniano, busca-se teorizar a respeito dessa poesia, marcando elementos estruturantes dessa obra. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
This work analyzes some characteristics of the poetic work of Manoel de Barros from the self explanatory stance of his text. Based on some aspects of phenomenology, also supported on Bakhtin's proposal of monologism, we seek to theorize about this poetry, marking the structuring elements of that work.

Manoel de Barros, poeta que estreou na literatura brasileira na década de 1930, tem na imagem poética e na metalinguagem os principais pontos de força de sua poesia. Mais que isso, ressaltamos que existe em sua obra uma imbricação tensional entre os espaços imagético e metalinguístico, uma vez que o poeta funde estes espaços de linguagem, fazendo do poema uma espécie de suporte para a crítica na medida em que injeta nas malhas do discurso poético seu pensamento crítico. Observamos, também, que a repetição excessiva e combinada de alguns procedimentos de elaboração poética gera uma macroestrutura que caracteriza a linguagem construída pelo poeta, sendo que consideramos a fusão dos espaços figurativo e metapoético como procedimento predominante desta estrutura. Nesse sentido, propomos um estudo que se concentra nas funções e efeitos, gerados pela repetição, que singularizam a poesia de Barros. Tal estudo visa, ainda, sistematizar uma Poética, uma vez que a linguagem acaba por configurar-se enquanto código palimpséstico marcado pela convivência das atividades crítica e criativa, bem como pela repetição de ideias pontuais acerca do poético. Para tanto, partimos da investigação detida de uma seleção de poemas da obra toda do autor, e estabelecemos um amplo diálogo com fundamentos da modernidade lírica.
Manoel de Barros, poet who debuted on Brazilian literature in 1930, has in the poetic image and in metalanguage the main strength points of his poetry. More than that, we emphasize that there is in his work a tensional interlink between the image and the metalinguistic spaces, once the poet merges these language spaces, making the poem some sort of support for the criticism to the extent that he injects in the poetic discourse his critical thought. We notice, also, that the excessive and combined repetition of some poetic elaboration procedures creates a macrostructure that characterizes the language built by the poet, as we consider the fusion of figurative and metapoetic spaces as a predominant procedure of such structure. To this end, we propose a study that focuses on the functions and effects, generated by the repetition, that singles out the poetry of Barros. Such study aims, still, to systematize a Poetics, once the language turns out to be configured as a palimpsestic code, marked by the coexistence of the critical and creative activities, as well as by the repetition of punctual ideas about the poetic. To do such, we start from a thorough investigation of a selection of poems from the complete works of the author, and establish a broad dialogue with the fundamentals of the lyric modernity.

Esta dissertação propõe a investigação comparativa das produções de Manoel e Martha Barros através da análise das obras escolhidas para compor o corpus da pesquisa: Poeminha em língua de brincar; Cantigas por um passarinho à toa e Memórias inventadas para crianças. A partir da análise, buscamos refletir acerca de questões como: a concepção de infância; renovação de perspectivas; primitivismo; efetividade da ilustração de obras poéticas e a influência editorial na produção de livros infanto-juvenis. Além disso, procuramos mostrar a necessidade de criação de novos olhares dentro da Crítica Literária, bem como a inserção e inversão de valores. Com o intuito de conquistar profunda compreensão da poética e da linguagem de Manoel de Barros e também investigar a expressividade da poética dentro das obras de Martha Barros, primeiramente contextualizamos a pesquisa dentro do universo da criança. O primeiro capítulo é dedicado a refletir sobre o papel da criança na família e na sociedade ao longo dos séculos, discutindo, ao mesmo tempo, o desenvolvimento da literatura infanto-juvenil. Logo após, procuramos apontar os traços infantis nas obras de Manoel e de Martha Barros. Posteriormente a toda esta contextualização, inicia a análise do corpus. Nossa intenção é de contribuir na área dos estudos interartísticos e o enriquecimento da fortuna crítica de Manoel e Martha Barros, pai e filha.
This dissertation proposes a comparative research of production of Manuel and Martha Barros by analyzing the works chosen to compose the corpus of our research: Poeminha em língua de brincar; Cantigas por um passarinho à toa e Memórias inventadas para crianças. From this analysis we reflect on issues such as: the conception of childhood; renewal prospects; primitivism; effectiveness illustration of poetic works and the editorial influence in the production of children's books. Also, we tried to show the need to create new perspective of the Literary Criticism and the insertion and inversion of values. In order to gain deep understanding of poetic and Manoel de Barros language and to investigate the expression of poetic in the works of Martha Barros, first contextualize the research within the child's universe. The first chapter is dedicated to reflect on the role of the child in the family and in society over the centuries, arguing at the same time, the development of children's literature. Soon after, we tried to point out the infantile traits in the works of Manuel and Martha Barros. Later all this contextualization begins analysis of the corpus. Our intention is to contribute in the area of interartísticos studies and enriching the critical fortune of Manuel and Martha Barros, father and daughter.

The aim of this study is to analyze the reception of Manoel de Barros‟s work in foreign lands, focusing on the translation of some of his poems to English, Spanish and French. The object of research is a bilingual photograph album with Barrosian poetry translated into English by João Rache, para encontrar o azul eu uso pássaros/ to find blue I use birds, a Spanish anthology, Todo lo que no invento es falso, translated by Jorge Larrosa, and a French translation of O Livro das Ignorãças entitled La parole sans limite: une didactique de l’invention by Celso Libânio. Poems that were more expressive and representative of the author‟s literary production were selected to discuss the reception of his work abroad. Manoel de Barros was chosen because of the reflective and innovative content of his work, which from regional and telluric themes transcends the Pantanal‟s frontiers to reach universal horizons, allowing the extension of his work to foreign lands. This investigation is based on translation theory, especially on literary translation, and on language studies. The theoretical and critical framework is based on the reflections of Laranjeira, Meschonnic and Riffaterre and on the philosophical hermeneutics of Gadamer. We point out that our purpose is to develop an analysis which permits us to get an insight into Manoel de Barros‟s work to learn more about it and to understand the overall translation process. It is our belief that it is possible to find a meeting point in the diversity of the cultures through translation, enriching and broadening the knowledge of the target reader about the original culture.
Este trabalho visa analisar a recepção da obra de Manoel de Barros em terras estrangeiras, enfocando a tradução de alguns de seus poemas para as línguas inglesa, espanhola e francesa. O objeto de nosso estudo é composto de um livro fotográfico com poesia barrosiana vertida para o inglês por João Rache, para encontrar o azul eu uso pássaros/ to find blue I use birds; de uma antologia espanhola, Todo lo que no invento es falso, traduzida por Jorge Larrosa, e de uma tradução de O Livro das Ignorãças para o francês, intitulada La parole sans limite: une didactique de l’invention, realizada por Celso Libânio. Dentre os três livros, foram eleitos poemas significativos e marcantes da produção literária do autor, que possibilitam discutir o problema da recepção de sua obra fora do Brasil. A escolha de Manoel de Barros se deve ao teor reflexivo e renovador de sua obra que, partindo de temas regionalistas e telúricos, transcende as fronteiras pantaneiras para atingir horizontes universais, permitindo a extensão de sua obra para o estrangeiro. A relação entre a teoria da tradução, especialmente da tradução literária, e a teoria da linguagem servem de base para os nossos estudos. Apoiamo-nos, sobretudo, nas reflexões teórico-críticas de Laranjeira, Meschonnic e Riffaterre e na hermenêutica filosófica de Gadamer. Salientamos que nossa proposta é utilizar uma prática que nos permita uma penetração mais profunda na obra de Manoel Barros e uma compreensão do processo tradutório como um todo. Acreditamos que na diversidade é possível estabelecer um encontro entre as culturas por meio da tradução, enriquecendo e ampliando os conhecimentos do leitor de chegada com relação à cultura de partida.

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior
O presente trabalho tem por objeto o exame das trÃs primeiras obras: Poemas concebidos sem pecado (1937), Face ImÃvel (1942) e Poesias (1947) do poeta mato-grossense Manoel de Barros (1916). O problema que se coloca diz respeito ao tratamento da infÃncia, temÃtica identificadora do poeta, que aqui serà vista atravÃs da noÃÃo de espaÃo. Partindo da hipÃtese de que o texto gera uma tensÃo entre as categorias campo e cidade, pretende-se verificar como a poesia de Barros cria, atravÃs da recordaÃÃo da infÃncia, cenÃrios particulares para ambas as modalidades de espaÃo, trazendo para a cidade, o mais das vezes, uma feiÃÃo negativa, de desconforto para o eu-lÃrico, em contraste com o campo, lugar que se lhe revela como idÃlico. O trabalho intenta recuperar os hÃbitos infantis e os retratos dos companheiros do menino pantaneiro, a partir da metamorfose dessas realidades em matÃria poÃtica, e para tanto, buscarà apoio nas noÃÃes de infÃncia e de espaÃo, na medida em que credita a esses dois elementos as fontes da identidade poÃtica de Manoel de Barros.
This study aims to examine the first three Mato Grosso poet Manoel de Barros (1916) works: Poemas concebidos sem pecado (1937), Face ImÃvel (1942) e Poesias (1947). The problem that arises concerns treatment of children, identifying the poetÂs theme, wich will be seen here through the notion of space. Assuming that the text creates a tension between the rural and urban categories, we intend to see how Barros poetry creates, through childhood memories, particular scenarios for both types of space, bringing to the city, most often, a negative feature of discomfort for the self-lyrical, in contrast with the field, you place that reveals how idyllic. The attempts to recover the work habits and childrenÂs portraits of fellow boys from Pantanal, from the metamorphosis of these realities on poetry, and for that, seek support in childhood and notions of space, to the extent that credits the sources of these two elements of Manoel de Barros poetic identity.

This research aims at the communicative and translation possibilities that result from journalistic chronicles and poetry. To do so, we have brought the poetic construction of some poems of Manoel de Barros as an attempt to locate the use of elements that are peculiar of the journalistic chronicle, as a case study. The methodology of this work is that of a bibliographic enquiry, in order to obtain data about the way in which Manoel makes poetry, and about the structure of journalistic chronicle. Strictly concerning the signic processes operated in Latin America, we also have studied the semiotic dynamics of culture. Starting from the theory of factor and language functions by Roman Jakobson, we have pointed out the differences between them, specially between the referential function (usually linked with chronicle), and the poetic function. On the other hand, we have visualized their possible relationships based on the text concept and on the semiotic notion of boarders by Iuri Lotman, and their permeability, which makes it possible to have exchanges, dialogues and hybridism between distinct texts. Authors such as Lezama Lima, Severo Sarduy, Serge Gruzinsky, Amálio Pinheiro and Haroldo de Campos help us to map cultural features of Latin América which intensify connections between texts and cultural series from several points of time/space. The Latin American cultural environment has been studied for its high relational dynamism and for its open and migrant complexity which generates new ways of communicative procedures. We have analyzed one of each of Manoel de Barros 18 books as theoretical corpus. The criterion used for the selection of the poems was to choose the ones that seemed to incorporate most chronicle elements. Finally, Manoel de Barros shows to be not only a very sensitive poet to his cultural context but also, and above all, as good a chronicler as a poet, in that chronicle and poetry supplement each other in his work
Essa pesquisa tem como problema as possibilidades comunicativas e tradutórias que resultam das relações entre crônica jornalística e poesia. Para tanto, tomamos, como estudo de caso, alguns poemas de Manoel de Barros, na tentativa de localizar, na construção de sua obra poética, a utilização de elementos próprios à crônica jornalística. Esse trabalho assume o método da pesquisa bibliográfica, de modo a obter dados acerca do poetar de Manoel, da estrutura da crônica jornalística e da dinâmica semiótica da cultura, especificamente no que diz respeito aos processos sígnicos operados na América Latina. Tomando como ponto de partida a teoria dos fatores e funções da linguagem, conforme proposta por Roman Jakobson, demarcamos as diferenças existentes entre as mesmas, em especial entre a função referencial (tendencialmente ligada à crônica) e a função poética. Por outro lado, vislumbramos suas possíveis relações, munidos do conceito de texto e da noção semiótica de fronteira de Iuri Lotman e suas permeabilidades possibilitadoras de trocas, diálogos e mestiçagens entre textos distintos. A partir de autores como Lezama Lima, Severo Sarduy, Serge Gruzinsky, Amálio Pinheiro e Haroldo de Campos, cartografamos as especificidades culturais da América Latina, intensificadoras das conexões entre textos e séries culturais advindos de diversos tempos/espaços. A paisagem cultural latino-americana vem sendo estudada justamente por sua alta dinamicidade relacional e por sua complexidade aberta e migrante, geradora de novas formas e procedimentos comunicativos. Como corpus analisamos um poema de cada um dos dezoito livros de Manoel de Barros. O critério utilizado para a eleição desses poemas foi escolher aqueles que mais nos pareceram estarem imbuídos de elementos da crônica. Por fim, Manoel de Barros se revela não apenas um poeta bastante sensível a seu contexto cultural, mas, sobretudo, tão bom cronista quanto poeta

The dissertation presents an approach of sublime aesthetics in nature, with reading of the Manoel de Barros poems presents in the books O Guardador de Águas (1989) e Menino do mato (2010). The study performs reflection about the sublime feeling, as well as expands the area of knowledge about the poetics of the author. The research proposes a theoretical approach of the sublime in a historical and conceptual aspects, for a better understanding of its transformation over time, as well as the aesthetization of the nature and poetic image created in the texts to provide basis for thinking the sublime in the poetry. The corpus selected shows that the aesthetics of the sublime is still present in the texts and its basis are the same faculty of imagination and faculty of reason what changes is the form of scenarios composition, transforming the way of feeling. Reading Manoel de Barros, the feeling is awakened with the stimulus of the faculty of imagination, generating estrangement followed by delight, which produces the negative pleasure of the sublime
A dissertação apresenta uma abordagem da estética do sublime na natureza, a partir da leitura de poemas de Manoel de Barros, presentes nos livros O Guardador de Águas (1989) e Menino do mato (2010). O estudo realiza reflexão acerca do sentimento sublime, assim como amplia a área de conhecimento sobre a poética do autor. A pesquisa propõe um recorte teórico do sublime numa vertente histórico-conceitual, para melhor compreensão da sua transformação no decorrer do tempo, assim como da estetização da natureza e da imagem poética criada nos textos, a fim de fornecer bases para pensarmos o sublime na poesia. This study aims to examine the first three Mato Grosso poet Manoel de Barros´ (1916) works: Poemas concebidos sem pecado (1937), Face Imóvel (1942) e Poesias (1947). The problem that arises concerns treatment of children, identifying the poet´s theme, wich will be seen here through the notion of space. Assuming that the text creates a tension between the rural and urban categories, we intend to see how Barros´ poetry creates, through childhood memories, particular scenarios for both types of space, bringing to the city, most often, a negative feature of discomfort for the self-lyrical, in contrast with the field, you place that reveals how idyllic. The attempts to recover the work habits and children´s portraits of fellow boys from Pantanal, from the metamorphosis of these realities on poetry, and for that, seek support in childhood and notions of space, to the extent that credits the sources of these two elements of Manoel de Barros´ poetic identity.
O presente trabalho tem por objeto o exame das três primeiras obras: Poemas concebidos sem pecado (1937), Face Imóvel (1942) e Poesias (1947) do poeta mato-grossense Manoel de Barros (1916). O problema que se coloca diz respeito ao tratamento da infância, temática identificadora do poeta, que aqui será vista através da noção de espaço. Partindo da hipótese de que o texto gera uma tensão entre as categorias campo e cidade, pretende-se verificar como a poesia de Barros cria, através da recordação da infância, cenários particulares para ambas as modalidades de espaço, trazendo para a cidade, o mais das vezes, uma feição negativa, de desconforto para o eu-lírico, em contraste com o campo, lugar que se lhe revela como idílico. O trabalho intenta recuperar os hábitos infantis e os retratos dos companheiros do menino pantaneiro, a partir da metamorfose dessas realidades em matéria poética, e para tanto, buscará apoio nas noções de infância e de espaço, na medida em que credita a esses dois elementos as fontes da identidade poética de Manoel de Barros.

A proposta deste trabalho é refletir sobre a imaginação criadora de Manoel de Barros, a partir da perspectiva fenomenológica de Gaston Bachelard. Nele apresentamos o processo de criação da poética barreana explorando as injunções biográfico/confessionais, uma vez que sua poesia resgata sua origem, a memória de sua infância e as brincadeiras com palavras nos quintais do Pantanal, local onde o poeta nasceu. Abordamos a prática do ilogismo em paralelo à estética surrealista, por meio do recurso imagético, que permite ao poeta extrapolar as fronteiras do real e dialogar com os artistas da Vanguarda Européia. Investigamos a natureza do Pantanal, não como cenário, e sim como 'matéria de poesia', ressaltando os elementos 'água e pedra', em seu mobilismo e inércia, respectivamente. E, por fim, examinamos a presença do homem nesse ambiente propício às transfigurações, em especial a personagem emblemática do andarilho Bernardo da Mata

In order to contest the superiority of the colonizer’s language and cosmovision, Manoel de Barros builds, especially starting from Compêndio para Uso dos Pássaros (1960), a series of micro-cosmogonies or micro-universes. The contiguous elaboration of these universes represents, I argue, a direct response to the erasure by European colonization of wild, unextracted, Amerindian universes. Manoel’s timeless poetic word portrays an anarchic vision of humans, animals, vegetal world that exists in an original, untouched, and imaginary space. This space, however, is modeled on an imposed colonial language built or premised on the irrecoverable loss of the past and is manifested through the plurality of mediums of expression (alphabetical, visual, and performative), as well as recourse to humor, and a confrontation with the insufficiency of Latin alphabet. The narration imparted by Manoel of several vestiges of the world not only challenges the Western account of logocentric knowledge, but also invites the reader to understand that no one cosmogonic and cosmologic rendition is truer or more valid than any of the others. The return to this plurality of beginnings materializes itself in Manoel’s interest for drawing as well as in the way Manoel explores and reinvents the use of footnotes on the page.

Este artigo apresenta uma abordagem para incluir restrições de segurança no Fluxo de Potência Ótimo DC Não-Linear (FPODCNL) a fim de indicar ações de restauração para o operador. A região de segurança é formada pelos limites dos ângulos das tensões nas barras obtidos com medições através de PMU que incluem estados operacionais do sistema avaliado como seguro. O histórico operativo inclui fontes de geração eólica e diversos cenários de carga. Após o mapeamento das regiões seguras elas são incorporadas no FPODCNL para indicar ações de restauração quando o sistema estiver em contingência. A metodologia proposta é testada no sistema IEEE 14 barras. Os resultados mostram que as restrições de segurança são eficazes em fornecer tomadas de decisão para manter o sistema elétrico em uma região segura.

In order to maximize the performance of modern gun barrels in terms of strength-to-weight ratio and total fatigue life, favorable compressive residual stresses are introduced to the inner portion of the barrel, commonly by the autofrettage process. There are two major autofrettage processes for overstraining the tube: the hydrostatic, and the swage. There are several theoretical solutions for hydrostatic autofrettage, based on Lame´’s solution and the von Mises or Tresca yield criteria. The residual stress field due to hydraulic autofrettage is treated as an axisymetric, two-dimensional problem solved in terms of the radial displacement solely. Once the Bauschinger effect was included in these models they yield very realistic results. Unlike in the case of hydraulic autofrettage, swage autofrettage needs to be modeled by a three-dimensional model. The present analysis suggests a new 3-D axisymmetric model for solving the residual stress field due to swage autofrettage in terms of both the radial and the axial displacements. The axisymetric equilibrium equations are approximated by finite differences and solved then by Gauss-Seidel method. Using the new computer code the stresses, the strains, the displacements and the forces are determined. A full-scale instrumented swage autofrettage test was conducted and the numerical results were validated against the experimental findings. The calculated strains, the permanent bore enlargement, and the mandrel pushing force were found to be in very good agreement with the measured values.

O aumento da geração fotovoltaica na rede de distribuição de energia elétrica pode trazer bene-fícios como redução na conta de energia dos usuários e aproveitamento do potencial renovável. Entretanto, o excesso de geração pode causar problemas na operação da rede de distribuição como sobretensão, sobre-cargas e aumento nas perdas. Uma alternativa para mitigar esses problemas é o controle da geração fo-tovoltaica, de forma que o excesso de geração seja cortado para manter uma operação dentro dos limites técnicos (tensões nas barras e correntes nas linhas). Este trabalho propõe um modelo de otimização cônico de segunda ordem a fim de reduzir esforços computacionais e garantir soluções de boa qualidade. Um modelo linearizado é também derivado, sendo ambas abordagens baseadas em Programação Estocástica, para o problema de controle da geração fotovoltaica no sistema de distribuição. Os modelos foram desen-volvidos na linguagem de modelagem matemática AMPL e resolvidos usando o solver CPLEX. Seu de-sempenho foi avaliado por meio de sistemas de distribuição de 33 e 136 barras para o gerenciamento das unidades de geração distribuída de forma a maximizar a captação de energia renovável. A proposta identi-ficou o corte de geração necessário para resolver efetivamente os problemas de operação do sistema de distribuição.

O objetivo deste texto é o levantamento de questões referentes à construção historiográfica da arquitetura e da cidade colonial, empreendida por arquitetos modernistas a partir da década de 1930, tendo por objeto específico o artigo escrito por Lúcio Costa, denominado “A arquitetura dos jesuítas no Brasil”, e publicado pela Revista do Serviço do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional, n° 5, de 1941. Desde o primeiro número da revista do SPHAN em 1937, Lúcio Costa já publicava o artigo “Documentação necessária”, e no terceiro número, o artigo “Notas sobre a evolução do mobiliário luso-brasileiro”. O texto a seguir trata especificamente do terceiro artigo publicado pelo arquiteto, na revista, onde aborda a produção artística ligada às atividades da Companhia de Jesus no Brasil. Define, conceitua, indica as fundamentações dessas manifestações, ancorado no seu tempo, amparado por sua própria experiência e vivência, imbuído do espírito de renovação do fazer da arquitetura, do pensar a sua história. Disse por várias vezes, em textos e entrevistas, que os mesmos arquitetos “modernos” que se empenhavam em renovar o passado, eram também aqueles que lutavam para preservá-lo. Logicamente este passado a manter-se presente passava por um filtro modernista, e este mesmo filtro lastreava a construção do projeto de modernização da intelectualidade brasileira. A criação do SPHAN, seus atos e movimentos dão conta dessa batalha, e representam hoje, da maneira mais diletante, essa profissão do credo nas transformações do mundo industrial.

We have studied self-coordinated bacterial transportation systems using SU-8 microbarges in low Reynolds number fluidic environments. Flagellated Serratia marcescens bacteria were attached to microbarges using a blotting technique that creates a bacterial monolayer carpet. These bacterial carpets naturally self-coordinate to propel the microbarges in a manner that have been controlled by phototactic means. We additionally demonstrate phototactic control of these barges. Tracking algorithms were designed to study the motion of the microbarges.

Neste trabalho é proposta uma metodologia para implementação da proteção adaptativa em relés digitais comerciais considerando a inserção de Geração Distribuída (GD) nos Sistemas de Distribuição de Energia Elétrica (SDEE). A metodologia é baseada no emprego de um Controlador Lógico Programável (CLP) para processamento dos dados e envio dos valores de pickup adaptados para atuação da função de sobrecorrente temporizada de fase (51) dos relés digitais. A proteção adaptativa é implementada em bancada e os testes são realizados utilizando o sistema de 13 barras do IEEE cujas simulações são realizadas empregando o software DigSilent®. Os resultados mostram a eficiência e robustez da proteção adaptativa proposta visto que a metodologia foi capaz de manter a coordenação e a seletividade do sistema de proteção mesmo com a inserção massiva de GD.

Nos últimos anos houve um grande crescimento na utilização de Geração Distribuída (GD) no sistema elétrico brasileiro, impulsionado pelos inúmeros incentivos dados pelo governo a fim de diversificar a matriz elétrica brasileira. No entanto, a inserção massiva de GD nos sistemas de distribuição de energia elétrica pode causar inúmeros problemas de ordem operacional, como, dificuldade em se manter os níveis de tensão dentro dos limites previstos em lei, aumento considerável nas correntes de curtocircuito, dificuldades em se ajustar os sistemas de proteção e considerável aumento nas perdas. Desta forma, neste projeto propõe-se o estudo dos impactos da inserção de GD no sistema de distribuição primária da subestação Interligação da cidade de Poços de Caldas, sobretudo no perfil de tensão nas barras da mesma, já que tal problema tem se mostrado mais proeminente. Sendo assim, foi elaborado um algoritmo de fluxo de potência ótimo (FPO) baseado no método de pontos interiores (MPI), com o objetivo de determinar os parâmetros de operação do sistema de distribuição para que o mesmo opere dentro dos limites de tensão dados pelo módulo 8 do PRODIST, ao mesmo tempo que mantém as perdas no sistema em umnível aceitável.

O avanço de tecnologias voltadas para a automação da distribuição nas últimas décadas agregou maior confiabilidade na operação dos sistemas. Com dispositivos e sistemas cada vez mais digitais tornou-se possível realizar ações remotas a partir de um centro de operação e adotar estratégias eficientes de controle as quais visam a regulação da tensão e o gerenciamento de potência reativa. Dentro deste contexto, este trabalho apresenta uma metodologia de controle volt/var para rede de distribuição inteligente a qual atua de forma coordenada nos ajustes do TAP de reguladores de tensão, bancos de capacitores e na variação gradual da potência reativa injetada/absorvida a partir dos inversores inteligentes pertencentes aos sistemas de gerações distribuídas. A técnica de otimização empregada trabalha métodos heurísticos direcionando a busca pela melhor solução com base na efetividade de atuação dos equipamentos de controle na minimização das perdas elétricas, ao mesmo tempo em que mantem e ajusta a tensão em níveis adequados de operação. O sistema de controle foi implementado nos softwares OpenDSS/MATLAB e aplicado emduas redes: (i) rede teste IEEE 34 barras e (ii) Rede interna da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Os resultados mostraram-se satisfatórios visto que atenderam todos os requisitos de qualidade e confiabilidade no fornecimento de energia, previamente estabelecidos na formulação do problema.

Os esforços para a construção de um banco de dados genético com códigos de barra de DNA das espécies da Flora de Carajás possibilitaram obter “impressões digitais” das espécies que ali ocorrem. A partir do banco de dados de referência criado pelo ITV, o ITVBiobase, outras tecnologias moleculares como a de DNA metabarcoding pode ser aplicada visando o monitoramento das espécies de forma rápida, automatizada e eficiente. A técnica de DNA metabarcoding possibilita identificar simultaneamente múltiplas espécies de plantas a partir dos rastros de DNA presente em uma amostra ambiental, descartando a necessidade de amostragem direta de espécimes. Nesse sentido, estudos para validação do uso da técnica de DNA metabarcoding para monitoramento da biodiversidade da flora em Carajás, foram realizados com o objetivo de criar um manual padronizado incluindo as etapas desde a coleta em campo até as análises laboratoriais e de bioinformática.

1.1 Macroeconomic summary Economic recovery has consistently outperformed the technical staff’s expectations following a steep decline in activity in the second quarter of 2020. At the same time, total and core inflation rates have fallen and remain at low levels, suggesting that a significant element of the reactivation of Colombia’s economy has been related to recovery in potential GDP. This would support the technical staff’s diagnosis of weak aggregate demand and ample excess capacity. The most recently available data on 2020 growth suggests a contraction in economic activity of 6.8%, lower than estimates from January’s Monetary Policy Report (-7.2%). High-frequency indicators suggest that economic performance was significantly more dynamic than expected in January, despite mobility restrictions and quarantine measures. This has also come amid declines in total and core inflation, the latter of which was below January projections if controlling for certain relative price changes. This suggests that the unexpected strength of recent growth contains elements of demand, and that excess capacity, while significant, could be lower than previously estimated. Nevertheless, uncertainty over the measurement of excess capacity continues to be unusually high and marked both by variations in the way different economic sectors and spending components have been affected by the pandemic, and by uneven price behavior. The size of excess capacity, and in particular the evolution of the pandemic in forthcoming quarters, constitute substantial risks to the macroeconomic forecast presented in this report. Despite the unexpected strength of the recovery, the technical staff continues to project ample excess capacity that is expected to remain on the forecast horizon, alongside core inflation that will likely remain below the target. Domestic demand remains below 2019 levels amid unusually significant uncertainty over the size of excess capacity in the economy. High national unemployment (14.6% for February 2021) reflects a loose labor market, while observed total and core inflation continue to be below 2%. Inflationary pressures from the exchange rate are expected to continue to be low, with relatively little pass-through on inflation. This would be compatible with a negative output gap. Excess productive capacity and the expectation of core inflation below the 3% target on the forecast horizon provide a basis for an expansive monetary policy posture. The technical staff’s assessment of certain shocks and their expected effects on the economy, as well as the presence of several sources of uncertainty and related assumptions about their potential macroeconomic impacts, remain a feature of this report. The coronavirus pandemic, in particular, continues to affect the public health environment, and the reopening of Colombia’s economy remains incomplete. The technical staff’s assessment is that the COVID-19 shock has affected both aggregate demand and supply, but that the impact on demand has been deeper and more persistent. Given this persistence, the central forecast accounts for a gradual tightening of the output gap in the absence of new waves of contagion, and as vaccination campaigns progress. The central forecast continues to include an expected increase of total and core inflation rates in the second quarter of 2021, alongside the lapse of the temporary price relief measures put in place in 2020. Additional COVID-19 outbreaks (of uncertain duration and intensity) represent a significant risk factor that could affect these projections. Additionally, the forecast continues to include an upward trend in sovereign risk premiums, reflected by higher levels of public debt that in the wake of the pandemic are likely to persist on the forecast horizon, even in the context of a fiscal adjustment. At the same time, the projection accounts for the shortterm effects on private domestic demand from a fiscal adjustment along the lines of the one currently being proposed by the national government. This would be compatible with a gradual recovery of private domestic demand in 2022. The size and characteristics of the fiscal adjustment that is ultimately implemented, as well as the corresponding market response, represent another source of forecast uncertainty. Newly available information offers evidence of the potential for significant changes to the macroeconomic scenario, though without altering the general diagnosis described above. The most recent data on inflation, growth, fiscal policy, and international financial conditions suggests a more dynamic economy than previously expected. However, a third wave of the pandemic has delayed the re-opening of Colombia’s economy and brought with it a deceleration in economic activity. Detailed descriptions of these considerations and subsequent changes to the macroeconomic forecast are presented below. The expected annual decline in GDP (-0.3%) in the first quarter of 2021 appears to have been less pronounced than projected in January (-4.8%). Partial closures in January to address a second wave of COVID-19 appear to have had a less significant negative impact on the economy than previously estimated. This is reflected in figures related to mobility, energy demand, industry and retail sales, foreign trade, commercial transactions from selected banks, and the national statistics agency’s (DANE) economic tracking indicator (ISE). Output is now expected to have declined annually in the first quarter by 0.3%. Private consumption likely continued to recover, registering levels somewhat above those from the previous year, while public consumption likely increased significantly. While a recovery in investment in both housing and in other buildings and structures is expected, overall investment levels in this case likely continued to be low, and gross fixed capital formation is expected to continue to show significant annual declines. Imports likely recovered to again outpace exports, though both are expected to register significant annual declines. Economic activity that outpaced projections, an increase in oil prices and other export products, and an expected increase in public spending this year account for the upward revision to the 2021 growth forecast (from 4.6% with a range between 2% and 6% in January, to 6.0% with a range between 3% and 7% in April). As a result, the output gap is expected to be smaller and to tighten more rapidly than projected in the previous report, though it is still expected to remain in negative territory on the forecast horizon. Wide forecast intervals reflect the fact that the future evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic remains a significant source of uncertainty on these projections. The delay in the recovery of economic activity as a result of the resurgence of COVID-19 in the first quarter appears to have been less significant than projected in the January report. The central forecast scenario expects this improved performance to continue in 2021 alongside increased consumer and business confidence. Low real interest rates and an active credit supply would also support this dynamic, and the overall conditions would be expected to spur a recovery in consumption and investment. Increased growth in public spending and public works based on the national government’s spending plan (Plan Financiero del Gobierno) are other factors to consider. Additionally, an expected recovery in global demand and higher projected prices for oil and coffee would further contribute to improved external revenues and would favor investment, in particular in the oil sector. Given the above, the technical staff’s 2021 growth forecast has been revised upward from 4.6% in January (range from 2% to 6%) to 6.0% in April (range from 3% to 7%). These projections account for the potential for the third wave of COVID-19 to have a larger and more persistent effect on the economy than the previous wave, while also supposing that there will not be any additional significant waves of the pandemic and that mobility restrictions will be relaxed as a result. Economic growth in 2022 is expected to be 3%, with a range between 1% and 5%. This figure would be lower than projected in the January report (3.6% with a range between 2% and 6%), due to a higher base of comparison given the upward revision to expected GDP in 2021. This forecast also takes into account the likely effects on private demand of a fiscal adjustment of the size currently being proposed by the national government, and which would come into effect in 2022. Excess in productive capacity is now expected to be lower than estimated in January but continues to be significant and affected by high levels of uncertainty, as reflected in the wide forecast intervals. The possibility of new waves of the virus (of uncertain intensity and duration) represents a significant downward risk to projected GDP growth, and is signaled by the lower limits of the ranges provided in this report. Inflation (1.51%) and inflation excluding food and regulated items (0.94%) declined in March compared to December, continuing below the 3% target. The decline in inflation in this period was below projections, explained in large part by unanticipated increases in the costs of certain foods (3.92%) and regulated items (1.52%). An increase in international food and shipping prices, increased foreign demand for beef, and specific upward pressures on perishable food supplies appear to explain a lower-than-expected deceleration in the consumer price index (CPI) for foods. An unexpected increase in regulated items prices came amid unanticipated increases in international fuel prices, on some utilities rates, and for regulated education prices. The decline in annual inflation excluding food and regulated items between December and March was in line with projections from January, though this included downward pressure from a significant reduction in telecommunications rates due to the imminent entry of a new operator. When controlling for the effects of this relative price change, inflation excluding food and regulated items exceeds levels forecast in the previous report. Within this indicator of core inflation, the CPI for goods (1.05%) accelerated due to a reversion of the effects of the VAT-free day in November, which was largely accounted for in February, and possibly by the transmission of a recent depreciation of the peso on domestic prices for certain items (electric and household appliances). For their part, services prices decelerated and showed the lowest rate of annual growth (0.89%) among the large consumer baskets in the CPI. Within the services basket, the annual change in rental prices continued to decline, while those services that continue to experience the most significant restrictions on returning to normal operations (tourism, cinemas, nightlife, etc.) continued to register significant price declines. As previously mentioned, telephone rates also fell significantly due to increased competition in the market. Total inflation is expected to continue to be affected by ample excesses in productive capacity for the remainder of 2021 and 2022, though less so than projected in January. As a result, convergence to the inflation target is now expected to be somewhat faster than estimated in the previous report, assuming the absence of significant additional outbreaks of COVID-19. The technical staff’s year-end inflation projections for 2021 and 2022 have increased, suggesting figures around 3% due largely to variation in food and regulated items prices. The projection for inflation excluding food and regulated items also increased, but remains below 3%. Price relief measures on indirect taxes implemented in 2020 are expected to lapse in the second quarter of 2021, generating a one-off effect on prices and temporarily affecting inflation excluding food and regulated items. However, indexation to low levels of past inflation, weak demand, and ample excess productive capacity are expected to keep core inflation below the target, near 2.3% at the end of 2021 (previously 2.1%). The reversion in 2021 of the effects of some price relief measures on utility rates from 2020 should lead to an increase in the CPI for regulated items in the second half of this year. Annual price changes are now expected to be higher than estimated in the January report due to an increased expected path for fuel prices and unanticipated increases in regulated education prices. The projection for the CPI for foods has increased compared to the previous report, taking into account certain factors that were not anticipated in January (a less favorable agricultural cycle, increased pressure from international prices, and transport costs). Given the above, year-end annual inflation for 2021 and 2022 is now expected to be 3% and 2.8%, respectively, which would be above projections from January (2.3% and 2,7%). For its part, expected inflation based on analyst surveys suggests year-end inflation in 2021 and 2022 of 2.8% and 3.1%, respectively. There remains significant uncertainty surrounding the inflation forecasts included in this report due to several factors: 1) the evolution of the pandemic; 2) the difficulty in evaluating the size and persistence of excess productive capacity; 3) the timing and manner in which price relief measures will lapse; and 4) the future behavior of food prices. Projected 2021 growth in foreign demand (4.4% to 5.2%) and the supposed average oil price (USD 53 to USD 61 per Brent benchmark barrel) were both revised upward. An increase in long-term international interest rates has been reflected in a depreciation of the peso and could result in relatively tighter external financial conditions for emerging market economies, including Colombia. Average growth among Colombia’s trade partners was greater than expected in the fourth quarter of 2020. This, together with a sizable fiscal stimulus approved in the United States and the onset of a massive global vaccination campaign, largely explains the projected increase in foreign demand growth in 2021. The resilience of the goods market in the face of global crisis and an expected normalization in international trade are additional factors. These considerations and the expected continuation of a gradual reduction of mobility restrictions abroad suggest that Colombia’s trade partners could grow on average by 5.2% in 2021 and around 3.4% in 2022. The improved prospects for global economic growth have led to an increase in current and expected oil prices. Production interruptions due to a heavy winter, reduced inventories, and increased supply restrictions instituted by producing countries have also contributed to the increase. Meanwhile, market forecasts and recent Federal Reserve pronouncements suggest that the benchmark interest rate in the U.S. will remain stable for the next two years. Nevertheless, a significant increase in public spending in the country has fostered expectations for greater growth and inflation, as well as increased uncertainty over the moment in which a normalization of monetary policy might begin. This has been reflected in an increase in long-term interest rates. In this context, emerging market economies in the region, including Colombia, have registered increases in sovereign risk premiums and long-term domestic interest rates, and a depreciation of local currencies against the dollar. Recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in several of these economies; limits on vaccine supply and the slow pace of immunization campaigns in some countries; a significant increase in public debt; and tensions between the United States and China, among other factors, all add to a high level of uncertainty surrounding interest rate spreads, external financing conditions, and the future performance of risk premiums. The impact that this environment could have on the exchange rate and on domestic financing conditions represent risks to the macroeconomic and monetary policy forecasts. Domestic financial conditions continue to favor recovery in economic activity. The transmission of reductions to the policy interest rate on credit rates has been significant. The banking portfolio continues to recover amid circumstances that have affected both the supply and demand for loans, and in which some credit risks have materialized. Preferential and ordinary commercial interest rates have fallen to a similar degree as the benchmark interest rate. As is generally the case, this transmission has come at a slower pace for consumer credit rates, and has been further delayed in the case of mortgage rates. Commercial credit levels stabilized above pre-pandemic levels in March, following an increase resulting from significant liquidity requirements for businesses in the second quarter of 2020. The consumer credit portfolio continued to recover and has now surpassed February 2020 levels, though overall growth in the portfolio remains low. At the same time, portfolio projections and default indicators have increased, and credit establishment earnings have come down. Despite this, credit disbursements continue to recover and solvency indicators remain well above regulatory minimums. 1.2 Monetary policy decision In its meetings in March and April the BDBR left the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 1.75%.
