Abstract:
This research aims to determine the language behavior of Basa Osing speakers in phonological aspects. This research is important because of the debate over the Basa Osing linguistic status which considers that Basa Osing is only a variation of Javanese, and the other assumption that Basa Osing is an independent local language. This kind of situation will probably affect the behavior of Basa Osing speakers. This research used qualitative methods and collecting data by using silent movie and picture. The participants involved in this research are 10 Basa Osing speakers. Errors found in pronouncing Basa Osing are in form of ignoring the diphtongization of vocals /i/ and /u/ at the end of the word and the palatalization of /b/ at the beginning and at the middle of the word, /d/ at the middle of the word, /D/ at the middle of the word, /g/ at the beginning and middle of the word, and /m/ in the middle of the word, so that the spoken word sounds more like a word in Javanese than Basa Osing. This research aims to determine the language behavior of Basa Osing speakers in phonological aspects. This research is important because of the debate over the Basa Osing linguistic status which considers that Basa Osing is only a variation of Javanese, and the other assumption that Basa Osing is an independent local language. The highlight of the debate was when the Governor of East Java removed Basa Osing from the curriculum of local content. It will affect the attitudes and behavior of Osing speakers, especially young speakers. This research used quantitative method and involved 100 participants around Banyuwangi. The instruments used to collect data were questionnaires. This research proved that there is decline of positive attitudes shown between generation to generation (group I score = 3.19, group 2 = 3.23, group 3 = 3.87). Basa Osing is very possible to experience language shifts in the future if the perspective of the society gets worse.

This research examines whether Banyumasan Javanese Language is still commonly used in the current digital era, both in daily interaction and in interaction through digital media. The national language of the Republic of Indonesia is Bahasa Indonesia. Besides the national language, local languages are usually used by local people in a country according to the people’s ethnicities. The local language used by local people is also called the first language. There are about 719 local languages throughout Indonesia. In Java, some local languages are used in specific regions and have their uniqueness as the form of local people’s local wisdom. One of the existing local languages in Java is Banyumasan Javanese Language, also known as Penginyongan Language or Basa Ngapak, used in Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap, Kebumen and surroundings (Barlingmascakeb). Many researchers have reported that their speakers slowly abandoned local languages because of migration, the young generation’s reluctance to use the local language, and lack of pride in first language factors. A UNESCO report states that nearly 1,500 ethnic languages are becoming extinct every day. Using a quantitative approach, this research randomly took the respondents, constituting Banyumasan language speakers from some regencies. The data were collected through questionnaires that were distributed online. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive statistics technique. The research results show that Banyumasan Javanese Language started to be abandoned by its main speakers and their descendants, both in family communication and online activities on the internet and social media communication.

Abstract:
This study aims to use an ethnolinguistic viewpoint and a phenomenological approach to explain the meaning of linguistic units in the Javanese Temanggung dialect. This is in line with the theory of language relativity put forward by Humbolt thesis of language relativity, which claims that there is a link between society, language, and culture, and that each language includes a unique world view. The core data in this study are the linguistic expressions in Basa Temanggungan video, and the secondary data are key informant confirmation and verification results regarding the meaning of lingual units found in the video. The findings suggest that language expressions can describe people's local knowledge based on their culture. The term usel, for example, refers to donated money that is wrapped in a little envelope and given to the host when attending a celebration. It is termed usel because it is offered to the host by slipping it into the host’s hand. The habit of small chat is still very prominent in Javanese society, the host receives the donation with small conversation as if he were about to decline it, forcing the giver to push the host to accept it by tucking it in. The word usel is only used by Temanggung people, not by individuals from other communities.

Abstract:
This study is aimed at finding out the factors influencing the decreasing use of Base Sasak Alus (honorific Sasak language) among the youths in Sasak, Lombok. Based on the quantitative and qualitative data gained through survey, interview and participant observation over several villages near and out of the three regency-city cetnters of Lombok, it was found out that the average youth mastery of the Sasak honorific vocabularies is far from adequate, and for the other their competence in using and constructing Sasak speech level is also ‘poor’, their score being respectively 56,58 and 51,55. There are some factors that are addressed to have triggered the decreasing use of the high language variety. First and for most important, the inadequate transfer of Base Alus from parents and elder family members to children in the home domain causes the lack of exposure of the high language variety and lead to the minimum opportunity for teenagers to listen and practice the honorific vocabularies in their home and outside. Second, out of their home in their neighbouring environment and societies they rarely heard people speaking in such respectful form of language, except in very formal situation such as feast, religious gathering, village offices. Third, the encroachment of Bahasa Indonesia in almost every domain of language use also influence the teenagers to tend to use Bahasa Indonesia when talking to ‘stranggers’ who come to their town or village eventhough they are Sasaks. Next is the change of value in marriage system for ‘noblemen’ family results in the loose system of the use of Base Alus. However, aristocrat families who consistently practice the use of the speech level among their family members, could contribute to the maintainance of the refined language much better, but their number is limited to the very small percentage of the ‘aristocrate’ family members themselves.

Abstract:
The Balinese are one of the ethnic groups of Indonesia, the majority of which are on the island of Bali, the language used is Balinese with three levels of sor-singgih (tigang soroh) guidelines, namely Basa Kasar, Basa Madia and Basa Alus. Balinese language also has the additions of pangater, seselan and pangiring. To facilitate the search for basic words in Balinese, a stemming process is needed. Stemming is the process of mapping and decomposing the form of a word into its basic form. The stemming process is very important in the information retrieval system process. In this study, the Balinese stemming process used the Rule Base Approach method. The data used in this study are 376 basic words in Balinese. This study aims to design an appropriate stemming application for Balinese stemming. The initial stage in the Balinese stemming process is to carry out the input process, preprocessing, filtering, case folding and tokenization. Each word is subjected to a stemming process to remove the additions of pangater, seselan, and pangiring. The results of the study indicate that the Rule Base Approach method can be used to stem Balinese texts, this can be seen from the results of the accuracy reaching 77.82%. Of course, in testing there are still failures caused by overstemming errors resulting from the stemming process.

Abstract:
The existence of the Balinese language is increasingly threatened, especially when there are more opportunities for language competition to occur. When tourism began to bloom in Bali, the local language competed with foreign languages that entered Bali, especially English. Quite a number of Balinese people think that learning a foreign language is far more economically profitable than learning Balinese. This has caused many local Balinese to choose to teach foreign languages to their children rather than regional languages. The existence of the Balinese language has not yet become extinct, but this has led to a massive reduction. More and more Balinese young people do not understand the rules for using the Balinese language properly and correctly, such as sor singgih basa, along with its spelling and how to write it. In addition, there is also blindness to other skills related to Balinese, such as mageguritan, masatua, mapidarta, Balinese ngorti, macecimpedan, and so on. Gradually, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of tourism, the Balinese began to feel unsure about their identity. Born and living in Bali, I am unable to use the proper and correct Balinese language. Since then, efforts have appeared that lead to the re-literacy of Balinese, starting at the family, school, community, and even government bureaucratic levels. This study aims to describe KAMIKEBALI literacy at SMP Negeri 2 Semarapura, which is part of a broader Balinese language literacy effort. This research method is qualitative, with a concentration on field research. KAMIKEBALI activities at SMPN 2 Semarapura are a form of linguistic literacy that includes the stages of introduction, application, and stabilization or civilization.

Abstract:
Javanese language ethics are part of learning Javanese, which is considered difficult for students to learn. The language levels in the variety of ngoko and krama make students confused in their applications. Rigid learning also makes it harder for students to memorize Javanese ethics vocabulary. The singing method poses an easier and more interesting solution to learning Javanese language ethics. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the singing method and its implications for learning Javanese language ethics in class. This study used the descriptive-qualitative method. The research data were obtained from observations and interviews with Javanese language teacher informants at Public Junior High School 1, Selorejo. Data collection techniques included observation and structured interviews. Data analysis was carried out through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the learning method of singing included the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The singing method stimulates students’ optimal development to understand the proper application of Javanese language ethics. This is shown by the ability of students to correctly differentiate the application of Javanese language ethics based on their variety and level. Thus, the singing method can be applied to learning Javanese language ethics at school.

The object material is Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci Basa Jawi which studied using Gadamer’s hermeneutics. This tafsir is the book of tafsir which written based on the idea of Tafsir Anom V. The tafsir then was written, compiled, and published by KH. Raden Muhammad Adnan (1889-1969) and his descendants who lived in Keraton Surakarta. The study shows that Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci Basa Jawi is one of local qur’anic commentaries which strengthen harmonic modes between Islam and Javanese culture. There are three points of Javanese culture in harmony with Islam: the use of respectful language in Javanese, a harmony of Javanese Islamic mysticism and Javanese Islam as a way of wisdom. Abstract:
Balinese language has two major dialects, Lowland Balinese dialect (BD dialect) and Mountain Balinese dialect (BA dialect). BD dialect has a systematic form of respect (Sor Singgih Basa, Unda Usuk Basa) which is based, mainly, on the differences of caste between speakers in the society. In the BA community, however, there is no difference of social status groupings. Thus, in principle BA dialect does not have the system and use of honorifics. However, speeches at prayers contain the honorific words which are the same as or similar to Kruna Alus, Kruna Alus Singgih, Kruna Alus Sor of BD dialect. This paper describes the “honorifics” of BA dialect used in the Pedawa village based on analysis of speeches at prayers, and points the possibility of interference and borrowing from BD dialect to BA dialect through religious domain.

The aim of this paper is to present the statistical criteria and models used in a school effectiveness research carried out in the Basque Country Autonomous Community using as outcome variable the mathematics, spanish language and basque language scores. These scores come from the Diagnosis Assessments applied for five years. Four school effectiveness criteria are defined: extreme scores, extreme residuals, scores growth and residuals growth. Multilevel regression techniques have been applied using hierarchical linear models (HLM). Results have permitted a selection of both high and low effective schools based on four different and complementary school effectiveness approaches.

Estas unidades pueden definirse como un amplio y heterogéneo conjunto de expresiones que se utilizan en la comunicación escrita y oral para imprimir la visión subjetiva del emisor en su propio enunciado. La presente propuesta se basa en la explotación de un corpus paralelo para aumentar con medios cuantitativos un listado inicial de ejemplos obtenido en una etapa cualitativa.
