This article reports evidence of new monetary channels for social inclusion involving basic income policies and the Caixa Econômica Federal, a Brazilian government savings bank. Since the Plano Real (Brazilian currency) and the liberalization of banking in the 1990s, the realization of competitive advantages by the Caixa as social policy agent and the importance of citizenship cards differ from existing theories of bank change, financial inclusion and monetary policy. Multi-method research reveals the importance of 1) political theories of basic income, 2) conceptions of citizenship and social

This article takes the opportunity to reflect on future situations in which virtual musicians are traded like baseball cards, associated content-creator and autonomous musical agent rights, and the musical and moral conundrums that may result. Although many scenarios presented here may seem far-fetched with respect to the current level of artificial intelligence, it remains prudent and artistically stimulating to consider them. In recent years school mathematics programs have included an increasing emphasis on probability and statistics. Many of the activities suggested in these programs offer wonderful opportunities to involve students in active learning experiences in which they perform experiments using a variety of manipulative materials (e.g., coins, spinners, dice, and cards). These activities are highly motivational and certainly lend themselves to the use of manipulative materials. However, all too often such activities tend to become supplementary or enrichment experiences that are quite limited in scope and
