The general trend in water quality management has been to gather and use information on water quality variables for purposes of planning, design, and operation of water resources systems and wastewater treatment. However, the growing concern for environmental quality has given rise to a new trend in respect of the impact of water quality variables on human health and life conditions. Thus, there is the need for better understanding of how water quality processes evolve both in time and space under natural and man-made conditions. This accentuates the need for more efficient practices of monito

Abstract:
Fresh cement paste bleeding is one of the basic quality indicators, which, however, is not used for cements intended for the production of ordinary concrete mixtures. In some cases, during input inspection, it is necessary to obtain information on the quality of cement and its suitability for use in specific concrete mix compositions with minimal labor costs. Determining water separation allows to quickly obtain data on both the amount of bleeding water separation and its kinetics. The basic methodology is the standard method for determining the amount of water separation in GOST 310.6-2020, w

This paper contains the continuation of basic research from 2012 - the molar ratio influence to water glass coatings basic properties (adhesion, diffusion properties, surface quality) was expanded with basic resistance (combination of sun, UV light and rain). Most silicate coatings for concrete protection are currently based on potassium water glass. Water glass matrix itself is, however, insufficient for coatings matrix and often is modified by polymer substances for the coating purpose. Wide disparity exists in access to drinking water across social groups in rural and urban India. This article shows that the economically weaker sections or the lower quintile class does not have access to water within the premises both in rural and urban areas. This indicates that low income or wealth would mean poor access to basic amenities for households. Similarly, access to toilets and incidence of open defaecation reflect social disparities. The regression results show that an increase in the household income increases the predicted probability of maintaining an exclusive latrine. Furth

As a consequence of the awareness of the pollution impact of storm sewer overflows, managers need tools to evaluate and control stormwaters according to water quality criteria. After an experience of 25 years in storm water quality modelling, very few models are widely and regularly used. According to managers this is due to their cost and their low level of accuracy. The generation and the transport of the pollution in urban systems during a storm event are very complex because they concern many media and many space and time scales. Nevertheless, a typology of the existing models shows that t

Abstract Due to the fact that urban water courses provide precious natural and recreational areas within urban surroundings and that they contribute to an increase in quality of life, they have gained more and more importance in recent years. The restoration and planning of urban water bodies pose an enormous challenge, because most of them are in a poor ecological and structural state. This paper deals with the questions and problems concerning the topic and presents basic aspects for the ecological restoration of urban water courses.

The basic parameters of water quality which did not meet to hygienic specifications were established. The condition of the superficial water resources used in the recreational purposes has the important value for preservation and strengthening the population of health. In this connection precise criteria and parameters of hygienic safety of water quality of such water resources are necessary.

Eutrophication is the term used to describe the phenomenon in which a body of water becomes excessively loaded with nutrients, leading to a population of basic plant life. Excessive growth of algae and planktonic organism’s manifests as blooms on the water surface. Eutrophication gets worse in a lentic ecosystem when there is no outflow or water movement, resulting in the accumulation of pollutants on the surface. Water quality measurements, including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), exhibit correlations with one another. Therefore, this article prov
