Entre 1907 y 1910, diversas compañías fonográficas con sede en Estados Unidos sacaron al mercado mexicano varias grabaciones en las que se podían escuchar, en situaciones diferentes, la voz de Porfirio Díaz. En un disco incluido en un catálogo de Columbia Records publicado en 1907, por ejemplo, circularon las enérgicas órdenes del caudillo durante la batalla librada el 2 de abril de 1867 en Puebla, entre las tropas interventoras y el ejército juarista.
