It is proved in this paper t that the equation $z^\xi=x^\mu+y^\nu$ has no solution in relatively prime positive integers $x, y, z,$ with $\xi, \mu, \nu$ odd primes at least $3.$  This is equivalent to Fermat\rq{}s Last Theorem which is stated as follows: If $x.y, z$ are  positive integers, and $\pi$ is an odd prime satisfying $z^\pi=x^\pi+y^\pi,$ then  $x, y, z$ are not relatively prime.

Abstract Some inventions look deceptively simple once they are made. Classical scholars are used to the concept of apparatus criticus, and are most annoyed when faced with the fact that Renaissance and seventeenth-century scholars did not know of such a thing. Beatus Rhenanus, ‘in spite of his professions, … did not make clear to users of his edition [of Tacitus] the sources of his own innovations in the text’.1 Adrien de Tournebu (Turne`be), in his edition of Aeschylus (1552), emended the text using variant readings found in the scholia, and his own conjectures, but ‘he did not indicate the c

In the present work we report the discovery of new families of solitary waves in a 1:N (N>1) granular dimers (a heavy bead followed and preceded by N light beads) wherein the Hertzian interaction law governs the interaction between spherical beads. We consider the dimer chain with zero precompression. The dynamics of such a dimer chain is governed by two system parameters, the stiffness ratio and the mass ratio between the light and the heavy beads. In particular we study in detail the solitary waves in 1:2 dimer chains [11]. The solitary waves in a 1:2 dimer are contrastingly different fro

Abstract:
The cross-correlation function between the pump and Stokes intensities in stimulated Raman scattering has been measured. It has previously been conjectured 1 and theoretically shown2 that the Stokes light generated in the presence of a multimode or broadband pump is generated with mode amplitudes and phases in perfect correlation with those of the pump. We present here experimental evidence of such cross correlations for scattering in hydrogen gas. The measurement technique used is the same as that previously used for measuring the intensity autocorrelation function of a multimode dye laser.3

Abstract:
It is a well known fact that many interesting phenomena in the theory of waves in nonlinear lattices, e.g., the significant reduction of the amplitude of a propagating primary pulse or the essential growth of the phase velocity, may be explained in terms of various resonant mechanisms existing in the system (e.g. Frankel-Kontorova model). Recently, we have demonstrated analytically and numerically that similar resonant mechanisms also exist in periodically disordered granular chains with no pre-compression. Moreover, these mechanisms are responsible for the aforementioned phenomena of intensiv
