Indonesian coffee production is a commodity in both domestic and international markets. The quality of coffee products is influenced by the degree of maturity of the coffee beans duringthe roasting process. To improve the quality of coffee beans from the roasting process, aroasting machine is needed to produce large coffee beans. The reliability of a coffee roastingmachine takes into account the strength of the machine frame to support the load of the systemcomponents and the mass of the coffee beans. Contact between beam elements is a specific category of contact problems which was introduced by Wriggers and Zavarise in 1997 for normal contact and later extended by Zavarise and Wriggers to include tangential and frictional contact. In these works, beam elements are assumed to have rigid circular cross-sections and each pair of elements cannot have more than one contact point. Computational load of discrete element modelling (DEM) simulations is known to increase with the number of particles. To improve the computational efficiency hybrid methods using continuous elements in the far-field, have been developed to decrease the number of discrete particles required for the model. In the present work, the performance of using such coupling methods is investigated. In particular, the coupled wall method, known as the “wall-zone” method when coupling DEM and the continuum Finite Differences Method (FDM) using the Itasca commercial codes PFC and FLAC respectively, is here

It is emphasized on the use of creative methods in teaching journalism disciplines at the Faculty of Journalism of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The main creative teaching methods are described: the brainstorming method, the «circle of ideas» method, the alternative history method, the morphological analysis method, the hyperbolization method, the «Skamper» method, the Synectics methods. It has been demonstrated that creative teaching methods improve the learning effectiveness and new competencies obtaining. Key words: creative teaching methods; online platform; project work; tr

Abstract:
Presented herein is a comparison of three pipeline integrity assessment methods: hydrostatic testing, in-line inspection, and direct assessment. Pipeline operators use one or more of these methods to investigate the soundness of their pipelines in order to protect people, property, and the environment from the consequences of pipeline leaks or ruptures. Three separate methods exist because no single method has been found to be completely satisfactory by itself in every situation. By comparing the attributes of each method, pipeline operators will be better able to choose a method or combinatio
