Abstract:
This study investigates the factors influencing satisfaction of women entrepreneurs associated with beauty parlour business in Butwal sub-metropolitan city of Rupandehi district of Nepal. Using a sample of 50 beauty parlours in the study area and applying Probit Model, the results show that the probability of BPE's satisfaction decreases by 0.103 for those who have relatively big family. The probability of BPE's satisfaction increases by 0.0186 for those who are married. The probability of BPE's satisfaction increases by 0.049 for those whose husbands are helpful. The probability of BPE's satisfaction increases by 0.096 for those who think that society has positive attitude towards BPB. The probability of BPE's satisfaction increases by 0.2 for those who think that BPB has decreased discrimination against woman. The study reveals that the beauty parlour business can enhance the women’s satisfaction by enabling them contributing to their families in fulfilling the household demands.

Abstract:
In her stimulating book The Animal Estate, Harriet Ritvo notes the frequent interchange of terms for describing domestic servants and domestic animals in nineteenth-century discourse, and she emphasizes the especially distinguished role played by horses in the establishment of this rhetoric (18–19). Philip Hamerton, for example, writing in 1874, announced that “if there is any thing in the world of nature that seems clear, morally, it is that man has an authentic right to demand reasonable service from the horse” (qtd. in Ritvo 20), and the Rev. J. G. Wood, in 1885, decreed that “in return for its means of existence, the horse is bound to give to man the benefit of its labour” (Wood xviii). This anthropomorphic shift, moreover, is fully reversible: an article in Chambers's Journal for 1855 describes how Mrs. Robinson's slack governance of her household has resulted in anarchy — because she has “long let the reins go,” Heaven only knows “where her household will drive to” (“Kitchen and Parlour” 98). A manual on domestic management quoted by Pamela Horn advises that “the greatest ‘kindness’ we can exercise towards” our employees “is to endeavour, by a mild rein, to keep them in the path of duty” (112–13).

Abstract:
Compressive syndromes of the cervical arteries caused by musculoskeletal structures include bow hunter's syndrome, beauty parlour stroke syndrome, carotid compression by the hyoid bone, carotid compression by the digastric muscle and Eagle syndrome. They are a rare but increasingly recognised group of syndromes, so a high level of suspicion is needed so the diagnosis is not missed. The diagnosis is typically based on a combination of clinical history and advanced imaging investigations. Compression of the arteries may be static (only provoked by compression) or dynamic (exaggerated by movement), and this should be considered when selecting imaging studies. Symptoms resulting from vertebrobasilar insufficiency or ischaemia of areas supplied by the internal carotid artery are caused by compression of the vertebral artery and the internal carotid artery respectively. Surgical procedures are the preferred treatment for most of these syndromes.

In the contemporaneous context, the act of consuming has been a subject of great interest by researchers from different areas. It has been approached from diversified perspectives, based on production process or social argument. This research, originated from Certeau s (2008, 2009, 1995, 1982, 2011) studies, is an attempt to understand the act of consuming as a creative use , taking into consideration the power of ordinary practices proper of people who perform everyday events. The practices artistic nature would confer to the act of consuming an inventive and political dimension. This way, this research concentrates on consumptions/uses that are performed at a beauty parlour in a high medium social class neighborhood in Vitória ES. The objective is to negotiate wider senses, related to the notion of esthetics consumption, than those stereotyped ideas which associate beauty consumption to superfluous and frivolous actions. The inform data production indicates a diverse range of possible uses of the beauty parlour, which strengthens different ways of existence, based on taking care of oneself, including body and health issues; on the ethical relationships guided by esthetics dimension and possibilities of assuming minor esthetics with vanishing lines, allowing to produce different meanings associated to consumption

Garaeva, Alsou. "Economics of the Muslim Everyday Life: Religious and Economic Practices of Muslims in the Republic of Tatarstan." In International Conference on Eurasian Economies. Eurasian Economists Association, 2015. http://dx.doi.org/10.36880/c06.01281.

Abstract:
The change of the economic model in Russia in the beginning of the 1990’s has laid basis for the public institutionalization of religious associations. The sphere of commercial religious services has appeared and a diversification of the religious practices has begun. In the regions of Russian Federation Muslims make up about 10%, including Tatarstan with a Muslim majority of about 50%. This creates a fertile soil for the business targeted for satisfying Muslims’ needs. The research that we have carried out as a part of the quality strategy, and particularly, the depth interview, the expert survey and the overt observation, shows that there are some barriers to introduction and successful development of such elements of the Islamic economics as Islamic banking and Islamic insurance. And the explanation for this fact lies in everyday, microcosociological practices. The services of "Muslim" taxi or messages informing about the prayers time didn't "survive" in Tatarstan. Nevertheless, there are 29 prosperous catering enterprises which specialize in "halal" meals, 34 Muslim clothes and accompanying goods shops, 6 Islamic bookstores, 3 large travel agencies organizing pilgrimage tours, and two beauty parlors using "halal" standard cosmetics in the Tatar capital. Thus a successful business is usually connected to the Muslims' everyday needs. The results of investigations indicate that introduction of new religious services require a careful preliminary study of the market and of the needs of the religious people, the exact forecast of the demand of the specific services and goods.
