Abstract:
The article presents the goals and the structure of the database "Parceling and Building System of Moscow Bely Gorod in the 18th century”, created within the framework of the project "Spatial reconstruction of the historical landscape of Moscow Bely Gorod in the 16th - 18th centuries (with the use of modern information technologies)". The database was created in MS Access DBMS and accumulates text and graphic sources characterizing parceling, planning and development of the eastern part of Moscow Bely Gorod in the 18th century as well as urban planning and personal information obtained from the analysis of these sources. The database is the basis for creating spatial 3D reconstruction and one of the main components of the geographic information system being developed. The database as a tool for systematizing text and graphic historical information is a new method to study and reconstruct historical landscapes. It presents sources that served the basis for the reconstruction in an organized way thus greatly simplifying the verification of conclusions and results of the study. The article describes the main objects of the database (historical sources including graphic, town-planning objects (driveways, households, buildings) and personalities (owners of courtyards)) and their interconnections and methods of data formalization. The article pays special attention to the features associated with the processing of property owners' biographical and genealogical information.

Abstract:
The article summarizes the results of a two-year study of the issues related to the virtual reality and augmented reality technologies use to virtually reconstruct Moscow Bely Gorod in the 16th-18th centuries. The authors describe mathematical methods, software and hardware which grant access to the historical reconstruction of historical urban landscapes. An important feature of the reconstruction is the source verification module which was used to construct three-dimensional models of the landscape, buildings and the general scenery. The article names the basic principles which the verification module and its interface are based on and considers some optimum problems solved when constructing the interface. The project uses a hybrid motion tracking system as a combination of optical and inertial data. The archival sources used in the reconstruction process are presented in the virtual environment by means of a 3D graphical user interface for the virtual reality. The information displayed is generated from the database of historical sources which includes information about the urban development and individual buildings of Bely Gorod, their parts, location, purpose, owners and construction date. The database contains both text and graphic historical sources. The results obtained also include new algorithms, software and hardware systems as well as the experiment results.

Abstract:
The article sets a problem focusing on how to optimize the order of 3D user interface for virtual reconstruction of Moscow historical center landscape in the 16th-18th centuries. To work with the interface a virtual reality headset, a motion tracking system and an eye-tracker were integrated. Spatial representation of the historical reconstruction is accompanied by a specialized interface that allows one to access the source database. The authors introduce a criterion that provides for estimating the optimum order of interface elements in the virtual space. The problem is handled in case there are unknown factors such as the size of user's hands, deviations in the position of an interactive object and restrictions related to the disposition of interface elements. The article sets the general problem and solves some internal problems related to the construction of acceptable multiple dispositions of interface elements and the modeling of eyesight movement from one interface element to another. The article is the first to suggest an algorithm to numerically optimize the interface in 3D virtual space modeling the relief and historical buildings in the center of Moscow. It provides for user’s movement and gives access to historical sources which are the basis for virtual reconstruction of the heritage understudy.

Abstract:
Virtual reconstruction of an urban historical landscape over a relatively large area requires the reconstruction of historical land surfaces. To solve this problem one needs to obtain a detailed spatial data on the Earth surface elevation for a certain historical period as well as the information about the way it changed over time. The reconstruction can be performed using different software. One of the convenient options is to use geographic information systems (GIS) since this approach assumes work with georeferenced data “by default” thus providing for easier combinations with other reconstruction components. The article describes the creation of digital relief models (DRMs) of the eastern part of Moscow Bely Gorod reflecting the state of the land surface in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries via GIS software (MAG, SAGA, QGIS). Input data for this research are contours from 1:2000 topographic plans and generalized materials of archaeological sources. Using this basis as well as GIS analysis methods, three gridded DRMs (one for each epoch) have been constructed. These DRMs are suitable for use within the GIS environment and for export to other software.

Abstract:
The article studies a part of Moscow's historical center within Bely Gorod boundaries and is written as a part of the project aimed at creating a 3D-reconstruction of the historical landscape and the city layout in the 1760s-1770s. The authors create a map reconstructing the natural relief in the 14th century and the earth surface in the 1760s-1770s on the basis of archaeological data on the surface depth that preceded the urban life (the 14th century) as well as geological drilling data. The most difficult task was to reconstruct the landforms of the Rachka river valley which is now almost completely covered with a cultural layer. To solve this problem, the map underwent a geological and morphological examination by comparing it with the valley of the river – a natural analogue. The resulting digital reconstruction map of the river valley was verified by overlaying the buildings shown on the instrumental plans of the 18th-19th centuries and corrected. The research results are a series of schemes where the earth surface similar to that in the 14th century is shown by means of elevation contours and a separate map of the Rachka river historic bed. When comparing various materials, contradictions and inconsistencies were revealed that cannot be resolved using the data currently available, but the authors think that a detailed workflow presentation is sure to provide for completing and correcting the reconstructions presented in the article.

Abstract:
Important considerations when designing a V-ribbed belt drive for maximum power transmission and service life are discussed. Owing to different pulley diameters and wear of the belt, the wedge angle of the belt changes and the pressure distribution between belt and pulley differs. In this paper a method for calculating the wedge angle of the belt as a function of curvature is presented. Calculations show that the pressure distribution depends strongly on pulley diameter. Moreover, the pressure distribution between the belt and the pulley is shown to affect the torque capacity in a drive to a large extent.

"Can Age or Height Define Appropriate Thresholds for Transition to Adult Seat Belts? An Analysis of Observed Seat Belt Fit in Children Aged 7–12 Years." International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health 19, no. 3 (January 28, 2022): 1524. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/ijerph19031524.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate associations between demographic, anthropometric and vehicle factors and the fit of adult seat belts in children aged 7–12 years in passenger vehicles. Seat belt fit was assessed by inspection of 7–12-year-old children in their own cars. Logistic regressions examined associations between anthropometric and vehicle factors on achieving good seat belt fit. There were 40 participants included in the analysis, with 16 (40%) having good overall belt fit. The odds of achieving good overall seat belt fit increased by 15% (OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.04–1.27) with every centimeter increase in height and increased by 5% with every one-month increase in age (OR 1.045, 95% CI 1.001–1.10). Controlling for vehicle factors, neither age or height was significantly associated with overall good belt fit, and the discriminatory power of models including these metrics to predict good belt fit was 73% (AUC 0.73, 95% CI 0.55–0.91) and 74% (AUC 0.74, 95% CI 0.58–0.91). The results suggest that taller and older children have a better chance of achieving a good seat belt fit. However, with variations in seat geometry between vehicles, no single simple metric clearly defines an appropriate transition to the adult seat belt.

Abstract:
The basis of a correct view of history is for students to critically deal with interpretations of the past for different purposes and genres. Oral history gets students involved in discovering and making history and critically evaluating the stories about the past. Sometimes they encounter conflicts and contradictions that may make them think about their previous views and encourage them to learn even more about the subject. Dealing with eyewitness testimonies make it clear that historical cognition is more than collecting of information and facts. Therefore, the using interviews in history teaching provide a good opportunity to teach and practice methods that can be usefully applied to evaluate other types of historical interpretations as well.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to focus on Professor Dimitrie Gusti’s position within the Peasantist government at the beginning of 1930s. The author tries to gather necessary arguments against the belief which emerged in the fifties under the communist regime, and still valid until present days, that Gusti was promoted in the government of the National Peasantry Party because he was a good specialist, and not because of his political affiliation to this party. Asides the significant antecedents which prove the permanent and powerful connection with the elite of the National Peasantry Party since the beginning of the 1920s, he also had an interest in studying and modernizing the rural areas. The Professor’s political behavior during his term might be described as loyalty and dedication towards fulfilling the governing programme of the party. More than that, even in 1934, when the National Peasantry Party was in opposition, Dimitrie Gusti, defended the accuracy of this party’s political programme and participated in the conception of its new programme. The clarification of the professor’s position within the Peasantry Party government is suitable especially for analyzing his ideological stance, which is a subject that still arises perfectly justifiable in current debates. This analysis is legitimate not only for clearing the Professor’s position, but also for shedding light on the activity of the National Peasantry Party.

Abstract:
Early school leaving is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon that affects most education systems. According to Mazrekaj – De Witte (2020), early school leaving has various undesirable social consequences, such as crime, unemployment, early childbirth, which is why it is necessary to investigate the causes of early school leaving. The aim of the research was the explore the reasons that led the participants to drop out the school. Due the complexity of the problem, we examined parental assistance, the relationship with teachers, the class community, and the relationships between variables in school performance, in order to obtain complex answers to the reasons for early school leaving among those already affected. The instrument was filled in N=623 participants. The participation was voluntary and anonymous. The questionnaire included 23 items and background questions (gender, age, education, ethnic). The reliability of the instrument is good (Cronbach-alfa= 0,796). Based on our results, women accounted for the majority of the sample (N=359; M age =35,19; S.D.=12,019). 44.6% of those surveyed who were already affected by school dropout were of Roma origin. Our results also revealed that there is a strong significant correlation (r = 0.778 **) between the positive relationship with teachers and school attachment, so the respondents were influenced by the teachers and their attitudes. We found a strong relationship between peer impact and school performance (r = 0.640 **). Finally, early employment, alleviation of family financial burden, and poor school performance showed a moderately strong correlation (r = 0.542 **), suggesting that young people seeking to restore their family’s financial security had poor academic performance, in addition, we found very weak correlation (r = 0.489 **) between poor academic performance and school attachment.

Abstract:
Blades are the key parts of the turbine, which usually use materials such as 1Cr13 stainless steel. These materials are of high strength, great toughness, and good thermo hardening, but the process is difficult. Abrasive belt grinding has good grinding performance. Grinding tests of three kinds of abrasive belts were carried out on 1Cr13 stainless steel; the relationship between the material removal rate and the species, such as abrasive belt type, belt speed, the normal grinding force, and grinding fluid, was studied; after the belt grinding, the microscopic morphology of the surface was analyzed by SEM, and it revealed that the differences of the micro structure and basic wear law of different abrasives. The results show that in the process of abrasive belt grinding, the ceramic abrasive belt has the highest material removal rate. The material removal rate of alumina and zirconium corundum abrasive belt reached the maximum when Vs is about 25m/s or so, and ceramic abrasive belt is stable to maintain high material removal rate when Vs is at the speed range of 28 to 32m/s. The material removal rate can be improved several times when using grinding fluid of butter.

Abstract:
Belt drive systems are an effective means for power transmission which offer the advantages of light weight, low cost, quietness, and efficiency. Recently in automotive applications there has been a trend to power several accessories with a single drive belt in order to reduce overall vehicle size and weight. Since these belts are typically longer than conventional belts, a tensioner component is added to maintain acceptable belt tension levels. In this paper we describe several potential instability mechanisms for belt-tensioner systems, and present a design methodology to ensure good dynamic performance of such systems. A mathematical model of the belt-tensioner system, and numerical solution methods, are utilized to develop a computer-aided design procedure. Numerical results, and confirming experimental data, are presented for a particular automotive belt-tensioner system.

Abstract:
Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common tachyarrhythmia and associated with a risk of stroke. The detection and diagnosis of AF represent a major clinical challenge due to AF’s asymptomatic and intermittent nature. Novel consumer-grade mobile health (mHealth) products with automatic arrhythmia detection could be an option for long-term electrocardiogram (ECG)-based rhythm monitoring and AF detection. Objective We evaluated the feasibility and accuracy of a wearable automated mHealth arrhythmia monitoring system, including a consumer-grade, single-lead heart rate belt ECG device (heart belt), a mobile phone application, and a cloud service with an artificial intelligence (AI) arrhythmia detection algorithm for AF detection. The specific aim of this proof-of-concept study was to test the feasibility of the entire sequence of operations from ECG recording to AI arrhythmia analysis and ultimately to final AF detection. Methods Patients (n=159) with an AF (n=73) or sinus rhythm (n=86) were recruited from the emergency department. A single-lead heart belt ECG was recorded for 24 hours. Simultaneously registered 3-lead ECGs (Holter) served as the gold standard for the final rhythm diagnostics and as a reference device in a user experience survey with patients over 65 years of age (high-risk group). Results The heart belt provided a high-quality ECG recording for visual interpretation resulting in 100% accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of AF detection. The accuracy of AF detection with the automatic AI arrhythmia detection from the heart belt ECG recording was also high (97.5%), and the sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 95.4%, respectively. The correlation between the automatic estimated AF burden and the true AF burden from Holter recording was >0.99 with a mean burden error of 0.05 (SD 0.26) hours. The heart belt demonstrated good user experience and did not significantly interfere with the patient’s daily activities. The patients preferred the heart belt over Holter ECG for rhythm monitoring (85/110, 77% heart belt vs 77/109, 71% Holter, P=.049). Conclusions A consumer-grade, single-lead ECG heart belt provided good-quality ECG for rhythm diagnosis. The mHealth arrhythmia monitoring system, consisting of heart-belt ECG, a mobile phone application, and an automated AF detection achieved AF detection with high accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. In addition, the mHealth arrhythmia monitoring system showed good user experience. Trial Registration ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03507335; https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03507335

Abstract:
A metallogenic belt is a metallogenic geological unit with rich mineral resources and potential. The study of metallogenic belts can provide a basis for mineral monitoring and deployment. Research of the metallogenic belt in Zhejiang Province is too deficient. This paper uses the domestic high-resolution satellite data from 2018 to 2021 to carry out the application of remote sensing in a comprehensive geological survey on different metallogenic belts in Zhejiang Province. The survey results show that the area of each metallogenic belt is decreasing year by year, which shows that under the regulation of the natural resources department, the unqualified mining activities in key control areas such as nature reserves, ecological red lines, and the Yangtze River economic belt are timely stopped and forcibly closed, so that the mining development order gradually tends to be good. The restoration and control points show a trend of less in the south and more in the north, mainly distributed in the economically developed areas of the northern, central, and eastern plains of Zhejiang Province. According to the statistics of the degree of mine environment restoration and treatment (treatment percentage), the Taishun-Zhoushan metallogenic belt is the highest, and treatment percentage from 2018 to 2021 is 83.01%, 80.07%, 76.91%, and 73.78%, respectively. For four consecutive years, the number of restoration and treatment projects has been increasing, and the restoration and treatment area has increased significantly. The countermeasures and suggestions for mine environmental restoration in the metallogenic belt have been put forward. In the mining area, if the geological environment is good, the rainfall is sufficient, and so on, then natural re greening can be considered. According to the brief evaluation criteria, a total of 2983 mines can be restored naturally, including 311 in the Si’an-Changxing metallogenic belt, 325 in the Lin’an-Huzhou metallogenic belt, 387 in the Kaihua-Hangzhou metallogenic Belt, 598 in the Quzhou-Shaoxing metallogenic belt, 765 in the Longquan-Shangyu metallogenic belt, and 597 in the Taishun-Zhoushan metallogenic belt. A total of 1911 mines were involved within 1 km of the “three zones and two lines”. There are 50 places in the Si’an-Changxing metallogenic belt, 151 in the Lin’an-Huzhou metallogenic belt, 236 in the Kaihua-Hangzhou metallogenic belt, 326 in the Quzhou-Shaoxing metallogenic belt, 513 in the Longquan-Shangyu metallogenic belt, and 635 in the Taishun-Zhoushan metallogenic belt. The survey results and suggestions can provide scientific basis and important reference for the local mining administration department to carry out the restoration of the mine ecological environment in metallogenic belts, and they are of great significance to promote the wide and in-depth application and technological progress of remote sensing technology.

Abstract:
To achieve the potential advantages to be gained by the use of a high ratio range, continuously variable transmission (CVT) in an automobile it is important that the system has a high efficiency and that any inherent loss mechanisms are fully understood. This paper investigates the belt-related torque loss in a steel V-belt CVT. Measurements show that the loss is dependent on the secondary pulley clamping force and on the belt configuration and these results are presented in the paper. A semi-empirical model is proposed to explain the loss. The agreement between the measured results and the values calculated from the model is shown to be good. It is also shown that when the system is in an overdrive ratio and a high efficiency is particularly important the torque loss is large and the efficiency is severely limited, probably to less than 90 per cent.

On May 15, 2008, the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers (HUCTW) held its twentieth birthday celebration at the Agassiz Theatre in Radcliffe Yard. I was next door at Harvard University's Schlesinger Library, sleepily perusing my next fat folder of government documents. As the laughter and singing wafted its way across the quad, the choice of whether to stay or go was clear. I followed the trail of balloons to the theater, grabbed my complimentary union tote bag, smiled at all the lovingly crafted refreshments that awaited the revelers, and squeezed into a tiny space in the front as the lights went down. Long familiar with the upbeat and bold spirit of the union, I was still caught off guard when the lights came back up. Seated a few feet from me on the stage was a 1940s femme fatale who began to belt out “A Union Is a Girl's Best Friend.”

Abstract:
The green belt, located on the outskirts of a metropolis, has many characteristics such as good location, better landscape environment than urban areas, high availability in an original environment, low development costs and large and concentrated open spaces. With the huge population in China, this has led to a shortage of green space per capita and the shortage of recreational space. In view of such conditions, the recreational function of the green belt is very important, and can compensate for the shortcomings of tight urban recreation space. However, there has always been an important question about the scientific aspects and rationality of green belt use and control measures. In this paper, some outcomes of the Chinese green belt policy will be introduced. Then, three advantages and two disadvantages will be shown. Finally, reasons analyse and comparisons between China’s main cities and cities with a successful green belt will be given.

Abstract:
A nonlinear model is developed which describes the rotational response of automotive serpentine belt drive systems. Serpentine drives utilize a single (long) belt to drive all engine accessories from the crankshaft. An equilibrium analysis leads to a closed-form procedure for determining steady-state tensions in each belt span. The equations of motion are linearized about the equilibrium state and rotational mode vibration characteristics are determined from the eigenvalue problem governing free response. Numerical solutions of the nonlinear equations of motion indicate that, under certain engine operating conditions, the dynamic tension fluctuations may be sufficient to cause the belt to slip on particular accessory pulleys. Experimental measurements of dynamic response are in good agreement with theoretical results and confirm theoretical predictions of system vibration, tension fluctuations, and slip.

Abstract:
The subtle reservoir has become an important exploration target within the Bohai Bay Basin, especially in the Qikou sag. In order to guide subtle reservoirs exploration in offshore area geological analysis to Sha’nan structural belt is carried out in this paper. Qikou sag has large thickness, high abundance, ideal type hydrocarbon source rock. By unconformity recognition technique and paleotectonic analysis technique, results show that tectonic uplift had provided sedimentary source to the depression around it after Es1. By 3-D seismic interpretation technique and Seismic facies analysis, the sedimentary facies was confirmed. Geological analysis results show that sand bar, subaqueous fan is developed around it in Ed3. With the new geological analysis data sedimentary model of Sha’nan structural belt has been built in this paper. The sand bar and subaqueous fans showed a good reservoir potential, which are advantageous to oil accumulations. The southern part of Sha’nan structural belt has good hydrocarbon exploration potential.
