Tidak dapat disangkal bahwa Benny Hinn adalah salah satu pengkhotbah yang paling fenomenal bagi dunia kekristenan dalam beberapa tahun ini, khususnya di kalangan gereja karismatik di Indonesia. Kehadirannya di Jakarta pada tanggal 24-26 Juni 2006 silam dilaporkan telah menyedot lebih dari satu setengah juta pengunjung. Panitia penyelenggara mengklaim pelayanannya di Jakarta menuai kesuksesan besar berdasarkan pengakuan bahwa selama tiga hari ia telah mengantar hampir semua pengunjung menerima Yesus Kristus dalam hati mereka dan menyembuhkan banyak orang sakit. Kesuksesan di atas telah menginspirasi panitia untuk menyelenggarakan “KKR Benny Hinn Jilid II” di Pantai Carnaval, Ancol, Jakarta pada tanggal 5-8 Juni 2008. Meskipun ada kemungkinan KKR tersebut batal diselenggarakan, kehadiran pengkhotbah tersohor ini memang telah menciptakan sebuah kontroversi di kalangan orang Kristen di Indonesia. Di satu pihak terdapat kelompok yang menyambutnya sebagai pahlawan iman yang memberkati Indonesia; di pihak yang berseberangan terdapat sekelompok orang Kristen yang dengan tegas menolak kehadirannya dengan alasan pengajaran dan praktik teologinya bertentangan dengan pengajaran Alkitab. Tampaknya perbedaan pendapat kedua kubu di atas sulit dijembatani. Akibatnya, orang Kristen menjadi bingung dalam meresponsnya, khususnya menyikapi rencana kehadirannya di Jakarta nanti. Untuk itu, makalah ini mencoba memberikan sebuah sumbangsih pemikiran atas kontroversi seputar pengajaran dan pelayanannya. Mengingat keterbatasan tempat, tulisan ini hanya memfokuskan penyelidikan atas salah satu praktik pelayanan yang menjadi ciri khasnya, yakni “slain in the Spirit” atau tumbang dalam Roh. Tulisan ini akan menyajikan dua materi utama, yakni sebuah deskripsi tentang fenomena tumbang dalam Roh yang dipraktikkannya dan sebuah evaluasi atas fenomena tersebut berdasarkan pandangan teologi injili yang sehat. Diharapkan, artikel ini dapat menjadi sebuah panduan bagi para pembaca untuk lebih mengenal sosok Hinn sehingga dapat memberikan respons yang wajar terhadapnya.

A partir do livro Bom dia Espírito Santo, do autor líder evangélico Benny Hinn, neste artigo construímos uma leitura estrutural da sua autobiografia, partindo de sua narrativa heroica a partir dos conflitos que se opuseram a sua ascendência como líder religioso. Inspirando-se na metodologia estruturalista de interpretação dos mitos conforme desenvolvida por Lévi-Strauss, delineamos os conflitos inerentes à narrativa e suas soluções. As rupturas com o mundo antecipam aprofundamentos pessoais do Espírito, enquanto as visões espirituais antecipam conflitos familiares no mundo.

Germination can minimize beany flavor, change phytochemical compounds, and functional properties. Better acceptance of germination-based products; likewise, soluble protein is good for diet-related to metabolic syndrome which is known to experience inflammation. Phenolic, one of the phytochemicals is antioxidant and has the potential to be anti-inflammatory. This study aimed to determine the effect of germination time on sensory, total phenolic, and soluble protein contents of red kidney bean sprouts milk (RKBSM), and its anti-inflammatory effect. The red kidney beans were germinated for 0, 10, 20, and 30 hrs. With a ratio of 1: 8, the red kidney bean sprouts and water were blended, filtered, and add with 5% sugar. The sensory test (color, taste, flavor, and viscosity) was performed by using the 5-point hedonic scale, extremely dislike (1) to extremely like (5); determination of total phenolic by the Folin-Ciocalteu, and soluble protein with Lowry method. The anti-inflammatory test using the hind paw edema method using carrageenan-induced rats. The selected formula was RKBSM with 30 hrs of germination with neutral-moderately like score sensory, and rich in phenolic antioxidants (583.85 mg/L), protein (6.54%), and soluble protein (33.65%), but low in fat (0.1%) and carbohydrates (4.48%). The higher the phenolic dose of the selected RKBSM (8 mg/Kg BW), the higher the anti-inflammatory potency (44.74%) and the motility score (1.42). Longer germination time, higher total phenolic, and soluble protein. Higher phenolic levels increased the anti-inflammatory effect in carrageenan-induced rats.

The American televangelist and healer Benny Hinn was invited to host three meetings at a Christian conference in Uppsala 2010. The hosting institution was the Swedish charismatic Christian denomination Livets Ord. Benny Hinn has been invited by them several times before, and it can be said he is popular in some parts of Christianity, but considered rather controversial in others. The invitation and the whole event spurred an online debate, mainly on blogs and Twitter, where Livets Ord and Benny Hinn were discussed and scrutinized. This article will focus on describing and analyzing how the event was perceived and evaluated, primarily in the digital media, before, during and after the event. The churches are currently attempting to reach new audiences through digital channels, and hope to support their adherents in their everyday life beyond the meetings and activities hosted at their physical church building. However, as seen in the article, entering the digital era is not always unproblematic or straight-forward. What is of particular interest here is how the digital media relocate the event – how this opens up a previously closed event, and potentially flattens out and questions traditional authorities.Keywords: Benny Hinn, Livets Ord, Twitter, Authority, Online, Digital religion, Digital humanities

O cisto dentígero é um cisto odontogênico que é classificado como de desenvolvimento. Normalmente, está relacionado à coroa de um dente incluso, sendo um dos cistos odontogênicos mais frequentes nos ossos gnáticos. Na maioria das vezes é diagnosticado em pacientes entre a segunda e a terceira década de vida, com grande ocorrência em terceiros molares inferiores e caninos superiores. Clinicamente, apresenta evolução lenta, assintomática e pode causar discreta deformidade facial, deslocamento de dentes e alterações de estruturas na região. Radiograficamente, os cistos dentígeros são descritos como lesões radiolúcidas bem delimitadas e uniloculares. Na maioria dos casos, são observados em exames de rotina ou durante a pesquisa da causa da não erupção de um dente permanente. Apesar da singularidade clínica de cada caso, o prognóstico dessa lesão é favorável. O tratamento para o cisto dentígero pode ser a marsupialização em casos de lesões grandes, enucleação com exodontia do dente incluso ou preservação do elemento dental. In 1518, Martin Luther is reputed to have nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church at Wittenberg, an act that sparked the Protestant Reformation. Luther sought change in the Catholic Church: a return to an unmediated relationship with God based on a closer understanding of the Word. Since then, Protestant evangelism has been a force for social change: and this is particularly true in New Zealand, where evangelism has gone hand in hand with the colonisation of the country. This thesis proposes that it is not, in fact, the literal understanding of the Word that gives these services meaning, and that such an understanding is problematic and perhaps even impossible: the Word is always a translation. Instead, it is through what is not said - the performative aspects of evangelistic services, including the use of space, the actions of the evangelist, and pre-existing cultural “horizons of expectation” - that meanings are produced. Taking as material Samuel Marsden’s first service in New Zealand in 1814, in which the Word was preached in English to a congregation who primarily spoke only Maori, the more contemporary example of televangelist Benny Hinn, who performs miracles to television cameras, and the religious and political performances of Destiny Church’s Brian Tamaki, this thesis uses the tools of performance studies to undertake an ethnographic study of evangelistic services. This brings into focus the ways in which evangelists may create congregations and produce meanings in their services through different modes of performance and the ways in which these ulterior meanings impact, and have impacted, on New Zealand society.
