Abstract:

Benny Goodman é uma referência essencial no contexto da ambivalência musical. Enquanto desenvolvia uma carreira brilhante no contexto do jazz, Goodman teve sempre uma estreita relação com a música e os compositores eruditos, da qual resultaram algumas das obras do repertório para clarinete mais importantes da História. Esta dissertação pretende mostrar esta ambivalência de Goodman através de três aspectos essenciais: (1) interpretação do repertório que lhe foi dedicado, (2) o seu estilo enquanto improvisador e (3) a sua contribuição para o ensino. Pretende-se fazer uma reflexão sobre o pensamento do intérprete sobre as práticas a incorporar na performance do repertório tradicional e daquele com influências do jazz, bem como sobre as ferramentas para o desenvolvimento da capacidade de improvisação em diversos estilos musicais. Em jeito de conclusão será apontada uma proposta metodológica para o ensino do clarinete, que poderá também ser útil no ensino de outros instrumentos; ABSTRACT:Benny Goodman is an essential reference within the concept of musical ambivalence. While developing a brilliant jazz career, Goodman always had a close relationship with classical musicians and composers, which resulted in some of the most important works of the repertoire for clarinet. This thesis intends to show Goodman's ambivalence through three essential aspects: (1) the interpretation of the repertoire that was dedicated to him, (2) his improvisational style, and (3) his contribution to education. A reflection is made on the performer’s concepts regarding the performance practice of the classical and jazz repertoire, as well as the tools to allow the development of improvisational abilities in different music genres. In the final part it is presented a methodology for clarinet teaching, which may also be useful when teaching other instruments.

Abstract:

Benjamin David (Benny) Goodman known for his unique style of jazz clarinet performance and the acclaimed "King of Swing" began studying and performing standard clarinet repertoire after becoming firmly established as a jazz musician. Goodman's thirst for new works and desire to become a recognized concert artist led to a series of commissions from noted composers of the twentieth century. The works created as a result of these commissions have received varied acceptance, yet are important contributions to clarinet repertoire. Some of the works included in this study have been described in other studies, yet no other study exists which summarizes the history, nature and import of non-jazz works commissioned by Goodman. This study is divided into four chapters. Chapter one summarizes Goodman's early musical training and the establishment of his jazz career; chapter two summarizes Goodman's study and performance of standard clarinet repertoire; and chapter three includes a description of each commissioned work in terms of history and musical style. Reviews, especially of premiere performances, are noted and summarized. The concluding chapter includes evaluative comments by recognized clarinetists about these works, documentation of recent rentals of their accompaniments, and a survey of current recordings available for each work. Works included in the study are: Contrasts for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano by Bela Bartok; Concerto for Clarinet and String Orchestra by Aaron Copland; Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Paul Hindemith; Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Darius Milhaud; and Derivations for Clarinet and Band by Morton Gould. An unpremiered Concerto for Clarinet, Cello, and Orchestra by Allen Shawn is described. Letters written by composers Bela Bartok, Paul Hindemith, Morton Gould, Darius Milhaud, and Allen Shawn concerning their commissioned works were collected and are summarized. These letters along with the reviews of premiere performances, statements by noted clarinetists, and data concerning recent performances and recordings of works commissioned by Goodman form a new perspective of their history, nature and significance.

Abstract:

La calidad de servicio al cliente es un factor primordial para lograr el buen posicionamiento de una empresa en el mercado laboral; teniendo como principal propósito, involucrar al equipo de trabajo que forma parte de la organización, puesto que, estudios manifiestan que gracias al compromiso de los trabajadores y a la buena toma de decisiones del jefe, se puede llegar a mejorar la calidad de servicio brindado al cliente, logrando por ende cumplir uno de los objetivos principales, la sobrevivencia de las organizaciones. La presente investigación presenta como objetivo principal, conocer la calidad de servicio de atención al cliente del Snack Don Benny, ubicado en la ciudad de Chiclayo, durante el año 2019. La investigación ayudó a saber si los componentes de calidad de servicio que conformaban esta variable se encontraban bien estructurados en la empresa. El diseño de la investigación fue cuantitativo. Se realizó la encuesta propuesta por el método Servperf y los datos obtenidos fueron procesados mediante el programa estadístico SPSS-22. La muestra estuvo conformada por 241 clientes, asistentes durante todos los meses del año 2018. Finalmente se realizó la interpretación de los resultados para conocer las expectativas y percepciones de los clientes, encontrando una ligera deficiencia en la calidad de servicio, puesto que los clientes evaluaron alto la presentación de los productos ofrecidos, pero no la prestación del servicio. Por lo tanto, se recomendó implementar capacitaciones y charlas a los colaboradores para saber los acontecimientos pasados y reforzarlos.

Du dialogue de Sartre et B. Lévy, la seule trace écrite sont les entretiens publiés peu avant la mort de Sartre sous le titre de L'Espoir maintenant. Chacun des deux penseurs a affirmé l'importance de ce dialogue pour lui, mais le scandale lié à la publication des entretiens a rendu difficile leur prise au sérieux malgré ces déclarations. Nous avons voulu les prendre résolument au sérieux, ce qui nécessitait d'abord de les resituer dans le cadre plus vaste du dialogue Sartre-Lévy, qu'il fallait commencer par reconstituer. La mise à disposition des archives personnelles de B. Lévy a rendu possible cette reconstitution. Nous avons par ailleurs travaillé sur les nombreux enregistrements des entretiens. Enfin, nous avons réuni une série de conférences et d'articles témoignant du travail commun des deux penseurs. Le dialogue ainsi reconstitué, nous avons alors relu les entretiens publiés et avons tenté de les interroger du point de vue du dialogue dans sa totalité. Cette interrogation impliquait de revenir aux textes antérieurs de Sartre ainsi qu'à ceux, postérieurs, de Benny Lévy. Nous découvrîmes ainsi que le dialogue pouvait être considéré comme événement de la rencontre de deux pensées ou, mieux de deux voix se faisant et se mesurant l'une à l'autre dans le moment même où elles se faisaient. « Texte » concentré, riche d'innombrables échanges préalables, L'Espoir maintenant nécessite d'être explicité afin de livrer ses enjeux réels et sa signification. Ainsi, le dialogue, loin de n'être qu'une forme externe donnée à la pensée, propose - c'était le projet même des deux penseurs - une nouvelle forme de pensée que Sartre appelait « pensée du nous »
The only trace left from Sartre and Benny Levy's dialogue is the publication of their interviews called Hope now (L'Espoir maintenant) not long before Sartre's death. Sartre and Lévy both declared how important this dialogue had been for them, but the scandal that followed the publication of the interviews prevented them from being taken seriously. It is now time to consider these interviews more objectively. In order to do so, we had to place them back in the vaster context of the Sartre-Lévy dialogue and that dialogue first had to be reconstituted. The opening of Benny Levy's personal archives made it possible. This source was completed with numerous recordings of the interviews as well as a series of conferences and articles which showed evidence of the common work Sartre and Lévy had undertaken. Once the reconstitution was made, we decided to reconsider the published interviews with the globality of the dialogue in mind. This approach required going back to previous texts from Sartre or consulting posterior ones from Benny Lévy. It showed this dialogue as the interaction of two thoughts confronting each other and taking shape at the same time. Hope now is a very dense text, based on countless preliminary exchanges, that needs explanations to be fully comprehended and to understand what is at stake. It turns out that the dialogue, rather than being an anecdotic form occasionally taken to express a thought, actually gives birth to a specific form of thought, which Sartre himself used to call "Pensée du nous" ("thought of the we")

Abstract:

The primary aim of the present study is to gain an understanding of the translation process involved when translating song lyrics by investigating to what extent 10 translation features occur in a corpus of 12 song lyrics from the musicals CHESS, MAMMA MIA! and Kristina från Duvemåla. Comparing the source texts to the translated texts, taking into account: number of words, syllables vs. words, word-for-word translations, additions/omissions, metaphors, rhymes, reorganization of text, paraphrases and last if there were any untranslated English words kept in the Swedish version – led to the conclusion that the translation strategy of using paraphrases (express something written in other words) was the most common translation strategy used when translating song lyrics. In addition, translating song lyrics also requires a translator who is musical, has good association skills, a large vocabulary and is also very good at playing with words. Taking the findings into consideration it could be said that the word 'translation' should be avoided in reference to the act of transferring the song lyrics of a musical in one language into another language. More apt descriptive phrases for this process would probably be 'text arrangement' or 'interpretation'.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to examine the news coverage surrounding Stockholm City Theatre’s former CEO Benny Fredriksson during the metoo-movement, from the time of the accusations against him until a time after his death. The questions examined were: How is Benny Fredriksson represented at the time of the publishing of the accusations and at the time of his death? How are the anonymous witnesses and the journalism represented? How does the representation of victims and perpetrators change after the death of Benny Fredriksson? What are the differences and similarities in the reporting of Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter? To analyze this, we made a discourse analysis of 12 articles from Aftonbladet and 13 articles from Dagens Nyheter. The results showed that the roles of all the characters change during the coverage. At the time of the publishing of the accusations, Benny Fredriksson is represented as an evil dictator that harasses his employees at Stockholm City Theatre. After his death, Benny Fredriksson is represented as a victim of circumstances, helpless and full of anxiety. At first, the witnesses are represented as scared, helpless victims. At the end of the coverage the representation has changed, and the victims are instead represented as perpetrators that are accused of lying. The journalism goes from being represented as investigative journalism to being represented as a media hunt that killed Benny Fredriksson. Overall, Aftonbladet is more defending of the witnesses and the journalism while Dagens Nyheter is more defending of Benny Fredriksson. The study shows that a death can affect the news coverage and consequently how the characters are represented.

Abstract:

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att se på hur och om gestaltningen kring Benny Fredriksson har förändrats i samband med #metoo. Det som undersökts är Sveriges fyra största tidningar och deras artiklar från december 2017 till november 2018.  Resultatet i denna studie visar på att det fanns en skillnad bland det fyra största tidningarna i deras gestaltningen av Benny Fredriksson före och efter hans självmord. Innan Benny Fredrikssons död vinklade tidningarna på hans hårda ledarstil etc. Men efter hans död skrev tidningarna om hans klassresa och hur mycket gott han har medfört till kulturhuset stadsteatern. Inställningen blev mer neutral och positiv efter dödsfallet.

Abstract:

Syftet med studien var att bidra till ökad kunskap inom låtskrivningsundervisning. I studien undersöktes hur låtskrivning kan bedrivas på olika utbildningsnivåer. Med en hermeneutisk vetenskapssyn och ett sociokulturellt perspektiv genomfördes en kvalitativ intervjustudie av fyra deltagande lärare som undervisar i låtskrivande på grundskola, gymnasium, kulturskola, folkhögskola och högskola. Resultatet gav en inblick i dessa fyra olika lärares praktiker och synsätt och kan ses som relevant för yrkesverksamma musiklärare som vill utöka sina kunskaper i låtskrivningsundervisning i relation till kreativitet. Utifrån tidigare forskning om musikskapande, undervisning och kreativitet presenterades ett mångfacetterat resultat där lärarnas syn på och medvetenhet kring kreativitet ansågs påverka den undervisning som bedrevs i större utsträckning än vad lärarnas egna låtskrivande antyddes göra. Lärarens betydelse, vikten av medvetenhet kring kreativitet som företeelse, att synliggöra skapandeprocesser och att kommunicera dessa med eleverna går också som en röd tråd genom resultatet. Svårigheterna i att bedöma låtskrivande i olika kontexter framkom utifrån studien som ett ämne för vidare forskning.

Abstract:

Since 1995 the musical Kristina från Duvemåla has been performed on many national theatre stages in Sweden and is still obtaining success and fame. It is based on novels by the famous Swedish author Vilhelm Moberg, Utvandrarna (1949), Invandrarna (1952), Nybyggarna (1956) and Sista brevet till Sverige (1959) that revolve around a Swedish family emigrating to the United Stated during the 19th century. This thesis investigates both the novels and the musical adaptation in a comparative way. Theory of adaptation and intermediality is used to analyse differences and similiarities of the stories used in the novels and the musical. It can be assumed that major changes were implemented in the adaptation of the main characters, specifically Kristina. According to that a shift in importance and variations in characteristics of the main characters appeared in the musical. Since the musical is named after the character Kristina who is moreover the key figure in the overall scenic performances, it leads to the conclusion that there exist major shifts in importance of content structures. For the analysis, individually chosen scenes are investigated in comparison with the novel contents as well as certain musical songs and dialogues. It can be ascertained that Kristina’s role in the musical has changed significantly in comparison to the novels by Vilhelm Moberg. The results do make contributions to the applied analysis of media adaptations in literary studies and musicology and might state an example for further analysis of adaptations.

Bei den Werken Vilhelm Mobergs, die als Grundlage für diese Arbeit dienen, handelt es sich um Utvandrarna – Die Auswanderer (1949), Invandrarna – In der neuen Welt (1952), Nybyggarna – Die Siedler (1956), Sista brevet till Sverige (1959) – Der letzte Brief nach Schweden. Vergleichend dazu wird das Manuskript des Musicals Kristina från Duvemåla aus dem Jahr 2012 untersucht, insbesondere dessen Liedtexte, Szenendialoge sowie Monologe. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, mithilfe einer komparativen Analyse der vier Romane und des Musicals, mögliche Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede festzustellen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf dem Hauptcharakter Kristina, welche im Vergleich zu den anderen Hauptcharakteren Karl Oskar, Robert und Ulrika bedeutend häufiger im Musical auftritt. Für die Textanalyse werden besonders Linda Hutcheons A Theory of Adaptation (2006) und Hans Lunds Intermedialitet. Ord, bild och ton i samspel (2002) genutzt. Es werden ausgewählte Episoden aus dem Musical mit den Inhalten der vier Romane Mobergs verglichen. Auf Grund des limitierten Umfangs der Arbeit ist nur eine begrenzte Betrachtung der Primärquellen möglich. Die szenische Darstellung erhält keinen Einzug in die Analyse. Bei der musikalischen Umsetzung der Romane im Musical erfolgt eine Betrachtung an ausgewählten Beispielen. Nach der vergleichenden Textanalyse beider Werke ist festzustellen, dass es sich um eine gelungene Adaption handelt, da nur bei genauer Betrachtung einzelner Episoden aus dem Musical Unterschiede zu den ursprünglichen Romanen deutlich werden. Zudem ist das Musical inhaltlich sehr nah an Mobergs Auswandererromanen angelegt. Notwendige Anpassungen, wie Kürzungen und Zusammenfassungen von Episoden aus den Romanen, sowie eine Fokussierung auf die wichtigsten Geschehnisse sind ebenfalls zu verzeichnen. Die These, dass Kristina im Musical anders dargestellt wird als in den Büchern Vilhelm Mobergs, kann durch die genaue Textanalyse bestätigt werden. Während die Figur Kristina in den Romanen eher eine zurückhaltende, vorsichtige und schüchterne Rolle einnimmt, wird sie im Musical als eine mutige, direkte und starke Frau dargestellt und wahrgenommen. Bis heute erfreut sich das Musical Kristina från Duvemåla in Schweden größter Beliebtheit und dies nicht nur aufgrund der gelungenen Umsetzung der Auswandererromane Vilhelm Mobergs, sondern auch dank der musikalischen Inszenierung durch Benny Andersson und der stilvollen Liedtexte Björn Ulvaeus‘.

Benny Anderssons och Björn Ulvaeus musikal Kristina från Duvemåla är baserad på Vilhelm Mobergs utvandrarepos och sågs mellan åren 1995–1999 av över en miljon besökare. Denna undersökning har med utgångspunkt i de teoretiska termerna adaption, ledmotiv och folkton analyserat dels hur den litterära textens teman och handling har adapterats till musikalen i form av sångtexterna och dels hur upphovsmännen har valt att musikaliskt förmedla Karl Oskars och Kristinas kärlek samt Kristinas hemlängtan. Begreppen ”aural equivalents” och ”musically voiced” har varit ledord i undersökningen, likaså dramaturgiska teman. Undersökningen är både en adaptionsanalys och en musikalisk analys. Enligt det hermeneutiska tankesättet pendlar undersökningen mellan detaljerade analyser av utvalda låtar och låttexter och mer översiktliga analyser av musikalen som helhet i förhållande till Vilhelm Mobergs utvandrarepos. Det står klart att upphovsmännen har förvaltat originalverkets berättelse väl, men de har också gjort en del perspektivförändringar då många av karaktärerna har fått mindre utrymme än i böckerna, medan karaktären Kristina tar mer plats i musikalen. Upphovsmännen har använt sig av ledmotiv och folkton som ”aural equivalents” för att både skildra kärleken mellan Kristina och Karl Oskar och Kristinas hemlängtan. Ledmotivens symbolik är tematisk, snarare än kopplad till enskilda karaktärer, vilket i sin tur har resulterat i en komplex ”väv av ledmotiv”. Folkton och direkta inlån från traditionell folkmusik har använts för att gestalta Kristinas hemlängtan och för att placera berättelsen i tid och rum. Till sist reflekteras det över det faktum att även utvandrareposet är en adaption av den svenska utvandringen till Amerika under 1800-talet. Denna undersökning hoppas kunna bidra till forskningen kring hur ett originalverk påverkas av att adapteras till musikteaterns förutsättningar och konventioner och på vilka sätt en musikalkompositör musikaliskt kan gestalta de dramaturgiska teman som en musikal består av.

Abstract:

Les panneaux solaires de Benny-Farm constituent la plus grosse installation de ce genre au Québec. Malheureusement, le système de chauffage solaire n'a pu être étudié puisqu'il n'a pas été en fonction pendant la durée de cette étude. Par confre, afin de mesurer la radiation solaire avec une bonne précision et à faible coût dans un mesurage de système de chauffage solaire, une méthode de calibration de pyranomèfres photovoltaïque est présentée. La méthode, beaucoup plus simple et polyvalente que les autres méthodes proposées dans la littérature, a diminué l'erreur moyenne de 91% et 94%, l'écart type de 25% et 17% et l'erreur sur la puissance mesurée de 66% et 73% pour les deux pyranomètres testés lors de la mesure du rayonnement solaire pendant 15 jours. Cette méthode pourrait ouvrir la porte à une calibration standard par le manufacturier d'un modèle particulier. Les récupérateurs de chaleur des eaux usées (RCEU) gagnent de plus en plus en popularité, mais la configuration de ces appareils sur le site de Benny-Farm n'a jamais été étudiée. Les deux bâtiments à l'étude, CHANCE et CHBF, ont chacun huit RCEU desservant 24 logements. Les RCEU sont installés en parallèle. Lorsqu'il y a une demande d'eau chaude domestique (ECD), le débit d'eau froide est donc séparé également sur les huit RCEU. La demande d'ECD, la température de l'eau froide et de l'eau préchauffée ont été enregistrées toutes les 1,5 minutes pendant plus de 250 jours sur deux bâtiments. Quoique le rendement des RCEU utilisés pour le préchauffage de l'ECD et/ou de l'eau froide de la douche ait été bien étudié par plusieurs chercheurs, des divergences sont attendues. D'abord, les possibilités que plusieurs RCEU soient utilisés en même temps changent le rendement. Les possibilités de récupérer la chaleur des débits non simultanés (ex. bain) sont aussi statistiquement plus élevées et les gains avec l'air Eunbiant peuvent influencer les données mesurées. Les données enregistrées ont montré que la simultanéité de la demande d'ECD n'est pas favorable au rendement, mais que la fréquence de la demande d'ECD est très élevée augmentant les probabilités de pouvoir récupérer la chaleur des débits non groupés. Finalement, il a été démonfré que les gains de chaleur des RCEU et de la tuyauterie d'eau froide et préchauffée par l'air ambiant sont considérables. Le rendement mesuré pendant la période estivale où la température de l'eau froide était supérieure à 20°C est de 12%>. La baisse du rendement théorique d'une telle configuration semble être compensée par la récupération de chaleur des débits non simultanés. Avec les factures de gaz naturel et les données emegisfrées, les pertes calculées de la recirculation d'ECD sont de 50%. Considérant un taux hypothécaire de 5% et une inflation de 3% sur le coût du gaz naturel, le retour sur l'investissement sans subvention est de 11.7 ans pour CHBF et 15.6 ans pour CHANCE. Cette configuration s'est avérée efficace dans les deux bâtiments à l'étude. De plus amples recherches sont nécessaires pour cormaîfre les limites de cette configuration.

Les nouveaux historiens sont apparus en 1988 en Israël. C’était à la base un petit groupe d’historiens qui, à l’issue de leurs recherches, ont compris que la version officielle de l’histoire sur la période de 1948, celle de la création de l’Etat d’Israël, était en partie fausse. Ils ont alors essayé de réécrire ce qui s’est véritablement passé en 1948. Au milieu des années 1990, le groupe s’est étendu pour devenir un véritable courant de pensée composé d’intellectuels, d’universitaires auteurs d’ouvrages critiques non plus uniquement sur 1948 mais aussi surles années 1960 et le sionisme en général. Ce mouvement « post-sioniste » englobe indirectement des écrivains et des artistes. On perçoit alors ce regard critique dans les ouvrages scolaires, dans la presse et le cinéma israéliens. Ce courant de pensée a été toléré jusqu’en 2000. L’échec de Camp David II a conduit à la radicalisation d’une société israélienne qui a tenté d’écarter le mouvement de la nouvelle histoire. Le gouvernement censure alors un certain nombre de traces post-sionistes des ouvrages scolaires, des programmes de télévision et de radio. Et les choses s’accélèrent après l’élection d’Ariel Sharon, la seconde Intifada, le maintien du Likoud au pouvoir, et les politiques qui suivent. Sans pour autant réussir à remettre en cause en profondeur l’indiscutable influence qu’a eue jusqu’à aujourd’hui la nouvelle histoire en Israël.

A la Libération, des intellectuels juifs français tentèrent de remédier à l'immense perplexité provoquée par la prise de conscience de l'étendue de la catastrophe de la Shoah, en se référant aux deux sources qui avaient forgé leur horizon intellectuel et spirituel, la pensée occidentale et la sagesse hébraïque. Prenant ses distances aussi bien à l'égard de la "science du judaïsme" que des lectures obscurantistes, un grand mouvement de pensée caractérisé à la fois par l'authenticité et l'ouverture vit le jour autour du primat de l'éthique et de la relation à autrui. Le concept de pensée du Retour est apparu dans le cadre de ce mouvement dont les répercussions sont sensibles dans le champ de la pensée juive et dans celui de l'horizon intellectuel européen. Cette recherche consistera dans un premier temps dans la vérification de la légitimité de l'appellation "école de pensée" pour ce qui concerne respectivement la génération des fondateurs puis celle des penseurs juifs contemporains et enfin ces deux générations confondues - notamment à partir de l'examen des différentes approches de la pensée du Retour. Cette question sera envisagée ici dans ses implications éthiques,philosophiques et intellectuelles - registres qui constituent le sanctuaire de la pensée juive et concernent des enjeux de dimension universelle - la liberté et la dignité de l'être humain. Ainsi sera tracé l'itinéraire qui mène du péril en la demeure à l'horizon d'une véritable "éthique civilisationnelle" dans le cadre d'une participation qualitative au débat intellectuel, culturel et spirituel français et européen
After liberation from the Nazi occupation, the French Jewish thinkers attempted to deal'with the perplexity pertaining to the overwhelming dimensions of the Shoah - while basing themselves on the two sources which had inspired their intellectual horizon, Western thought and Hebraic wisdom. As opposed to the "Science of Judaism" on one side and to an obscurantist approach on the other side, this school of thought was characterized at the same time by authenticity and openness and was based on the primacy of the ethic and of the relation to others. The "thought of return", product of this school, had repercussions both in Jewish as well as European thought. In contemporary Jewish French thinking, this concept still maintains its centrality from the epistemological perspective. Firstly this research will examine wether indeed this represents a legitimate "school of thought" despite the different approaches to the thought of return. The focus will be on the first generation, the second generation and both generations combined. My goal is to focus on the ethical, philosophical and intellectual dimensions of this question which represents the very basis of the universal dimension of Judaism - namely the liberty and dignity of the individual human being. From the school of Paris of Jewish thought's point of view, this research must lead to a true civilizational ethic within a qualitative participation in the French and in European intellectual, cultural and spiritual debates of our time

Gottfried Benn est connu pour son oeuvre poétique. Il est pourtant aussi nouvelliste et essayiste : c'est dans ses essais qu'il élabore une poétique du faire, une poi͏̈étique. Les questions qu'il pose sont d'ordre philosophique. Pourquoi ? Parce que Benn considère que l'art permet de dépasser la fin de la métaphysique. Benn affirme que l'art, la création sont une manière de surmonter le nihilisme. Puisque le nihilisme a détruit tous les contenus, il reste la forme. "Les formes". . . , c'est là l'important, voilà le fin mot de sa morale. Ce qu'elles sont reste à décider mais sûrement quelque chose de très élémentaire : rythme, tension, "processus,. . . " (Double vie, p. 160). Gottfried Benn veut créer une poétique de la forme. Une poétique doit pour lui tenir compte de cette réalité élémentaire et essentielle à la fois ; la création est un processus, l'oeuvre d'art est un faire. C'est une poi͏̈étique, faite de tensions, de rythmes, qui expriment le moi lyrique. .
Gottfried Benn is a well known writer because of his poetry. But he is also a short-story-writer as well as an essayist. In his essays, he elaborates a poetic of making, a poi͏̈esis. The questions he asks are philosophical. Why ? Because Benn considers that art is the way of going beyond the end of metaphysics. Benn states positively that art, creation are a way of surmounting nihilism. .

Abstract:

We consider N-parameter reductions of the Benney moment equations. These were shown in Gibbons and Tsarev (1996 Physics Letters A 211 19, 1999 Physics Letters A 258 263 ) to correspond to N−parameter families of conformal maps and to satisfy a particular system of PDE. A specific known example of this, the (N = 2) elliptic reduction (L Yu and J Gibbons 2000 Inverse Problems 16 605) is described. We then consider an analogous reduction for a genus 2 hyperelliptic curve (N = 3). The mapping function λ is given by the inversion of a 2nd kind Abelian integral on the Θ−divisor, Θ1. This is found explicitly following a method given by Enolskii, Pronine and Richter (2003 J. Nonlinear Science 13 157). Key to this is the identification of PDE satisfied on Θ1. We then consider the general case for N > 3. Again, the mapping function λ is calculated explicitly by inverting a second kind Abelian integral on the stratum Θ1 of the genus g Jacobi variety. This is done using a method based on the result of Jorgenson (1992 Isr. J Math. 77 273). The approach used for the hyperelliptic reductions is then applied to a genus 4 trigonal reduction and the function λ is calculated explicitly. A secondary result of this calculation is an expansion of the leading terms of the σ function for this family of curves.
