Abstract:
Herbisida Gus-Bensol merupakan pemberian nama dari suatu pencampuran lima bahan kimia yaitu garam, urea, sabun colek, bensin dan solar. Berdasarkan hasil uji awal yang dilakukan, herbisida Gus-Bensol memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan sebagai herbisida alternatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh herbisida Gus-Bensol terhadap pengendalian gulma berdaun sempit dan tingkat kematian gulma di perkebunan kelapa sawit.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada areal praktek perkebunan kelapa sawit Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan (LPP) kampus Medan. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan Agustus 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 2 faktorial, yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan ulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Pengujian parameter disusun pada daftar sidik ragam dan dilakukan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) dengan taraf 5% . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kandungan dalam herbisida Gus-Bensol dapat membunuh gulma berdaun sempit. tingkat keracunan gulma paling tinggi terdapat pada 7 Hari Setelah Aplikasi (HSA) pada perlakuan G1P3 : Imperata cylindrica + 75 ml / liter Gus-Bensol yaitu 70,88 % pada hari ke 7, G2P3 Setaria palmifolia + 75 ml / liter Gus-Bensol yaitu 70,65 % pada hari ke 7dan yang terkecil pada G1P0 Imperata cylindrica dan G2P0 Setariolia palmfolia yaitu 0,71 % (kontrol). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat konsentrasi herbisida Gus-Bensol mempengaruhi besarnya tingkat kematian gulma berdaun sempit di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Daya racun yang ditimbulkan oleh herbisida Gus-Bensol bersifat kontak karena terlihat dari bercak-bercak dan terbakarnya bagian gulma yang terkena herbisida Gus-Bensol.

Abstract:
Cyproterone acetate (CPA), a synthetic steroid used in human therapy, has recently been shown to cause DNA damage in cultured rat hepatocytes and in rat liver. In the present study we have investigat ed whether CPA also induces genotoxic effects in human hepatocytes. Genotoxicity of CPA was deter mined by measuring the capability of the com pound for inducing DNA repair synthesis and for causing the formation of DNA single-strand breaks. Autoradiography and alkaline elution were used to quantitate DNA repair and DNA fragmentation, respectively. Exposure of hepatocytes to CPA for 20 h induced DNA repair synthesis in two hepatocyte preparations derived from males and in four of the five preparations derived from females. In cultures from some donors, induction of repair was detected at 1 μM CPA, the lowest concentration tested. The maximum effect generally occurred at 10-20 μM. Only a very slight increase in the frequency of DNA single-strand breaks was found following exposure of the hepatocytes to 50 μM CPA for 20 h. For com parative purposes, the effects of CPA on DNA repair and DNA fragmentation were also determined in cultured rat hepatocytes. A strong induction of DNA repair synthesis, but only a slight enhancement in DNA fragmentation was observed in CPA- treated hepatocytes derived from female rats. These results indicate that the measurement of repair is a more sensitive indicator for the genotoxicity of CPA than the measurement of DNA fragmentation. No genotoxic effects of CPA were detectable in hepatocyte cultures derived from male rats. The present findings show that CPA is genotoxic in human hepatocytes and that the striking sex difference in the genotoxicity of CPA in rat cells is not observed with human cells.

Abstract:
Patienter med bensår är vanligt förekommande i vården och nutrition bör vara en del av behandlingen. Sjuksköterskans kunskap och attityd till nutrition kan således påverka omvårdnaden av bensårspatienter i hög grad. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att belysa nutritionsstatus och läkning hos bensårspatienter samt sjuksköterskans kunskaper och attityder om nutrition. Metoden är en studie där tio artiklar har granskats utifrån vetenskaplighet och kvalitet. Resultatet visar att många bensårspatienter ligger i riskzonen för undernäring och har brist på ett eller flera näringsämnen. Ingen av artiklarna visade ett signifikant samband mellan sårläkning och nutrition. Sjuksköterskans kunskap och attityder om nutrition varierar. Slutsatsen är att sjuksköterskan även efter examen måste fortsätta att lära sig och uppdatera sin kunskap om nutrition. Nutritionens betydelse i omvårdnadsarbetet får inte förringas, utan måste lyftas upp som en viktig del i behandlingen av bensårspatienter.<br>Patients with leg ulcers are frequently occurring in the health care system and nutrition is a part of their treatment. The nurses´ knowledge and attitudes to nutrition might to a high degree influence the care of leg ulcer patients. The aim of the literary review is to elucidate the nutritional status and wound healing in leg ulcer patients and also the nurses´ knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition. The method is a literary review where ten articles have been reviewed with regard to scientific quality. The results show that many leg ulcer patients run the risk of becoming malnourished and have a shortage of one or more nutritive subjects. No article showed a significant relation between wound healing and nutrition. There are variations in the nurses´ knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition. The conclusion is that the nurse even after graduating has to continue to learn and update her/his knowledge about nutrition. The importance of nutrition, in nursing, must not be overlooked but has to be highlighted as an important part of the treatment of leg ulcer patients.

Bakgrund: Kroniska bensår definieras som sår som sitter på underbenen och/eller fötterna och läker väldigt långsamt. I Sverige lider ca 50 000 personer av bensår och det är främst äldre som drabbas. Vanligaste orsaken till bensår är cirkulatoriska rubbningar som arteriell rubbning och venös insufficiens. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av att leva med bensår. Metod: Sökning och sammanställning av tidigare forskning. Resultat: Patienterna upplevde bland annat svårigheter med att utöva fysisk aktivitet och ville ha mer stöd från sjukvårdspersonal. Patienterna upplevde att lukt och vätska från såren försvårade umgänge med andra och orsakade skamkänsla och oro. Smärta var ett stort problem och en ständig påminnelse om bensåren. Relationen till sjuksköterskan och upplevelsen av omvårdnaden kändes ibland otillräcklig och patienten önskade större förståelse. Diskussion: I mötet med en patient som lider av en kronisk sjukdom är det viktigt att sjuksköterskan förstår hur patienten hanterar sin diagnos. Mer information och stöd från sjuksköterskan kan göra skillnad i patienternas copingstrategier. Slutsats: Resultatet visar tydligt att patienter med venösa bensår upplever stort lidande och att det som patienterna upplever vara jobbigast med bensåren är smärtan och de förändringar som de måste genomgå på grund av sjukdomen. Effektivisering av vården kan minska risken för nedstämdhet, öka chanserna för bättre följsamhet samt öka livskvaliteten.<br>Background: Chronic leg ulcers are defined as ulcers located on the lower legs and/or the feet and heal very slowly. In Sweden approximately 50 000 people suffer from leg ulcers and it is mainly elderly people who suffers. Most common cause of ulcers is circulatory disorders like arterial and venous insufficiency disorder. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe patients’ experiences of living with a leg ulcer. Method: Search and compilation of previous research. Results: Patients experienced particular difficulties in physical activity and wanted more support from health professionals. Patients experienced that the smell and exudate from the wounds complicated relations with others and caused a feeling of shame and anxiety. Pain was a major problem and a constant reminder of the leg ulcers. The relationship with the nurses and their knowledge felt sometimes inadequate and the patient desired a greater understanding. Discussion: In the meeting with a patient suffering from a chronic illness, it is important that nurses understand how patients manage their diagnosis. More information and support from the nurse can make a difference in how patients cope with their illness. Conclusion: The results clearly show that patients with venous leg ulcers experience great suffering and that what patients perceive to be hardest with having leg ulcers is the pain and the changes they must undergo because of the disease. Efficiency care can reduce the risk of depression, increase the chances of better compliance and increase quality of life.

Bensår är en fysisk och psykisk påfrestning och ca 50 000 personer i Sverige lider av bensår. Patienter med bensår vårdas av sjuksköterskor inom olika vårdinstanser. Oavsett var mötet med patienten sker, så är det sjuksköterskans ansvar att ge omfattande omvårdnad med god kvalitet. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa aspekter som har betydelse för sjuksköterskans hälsofrämjande omvårdad av patienter med bensår. Data insamlades i hälso- och sjukvårdsinriktade databaser. Resultatet i studien visade att det existerar en kunskapsbrist inom omvårdnad av patienter med bensår. Trygga relationer och en god kommunikation är centrala delar för en god och tillitsfull omvårdnad. När sjuksköterskan gav av sin tid och tog till sig av patientens upplevelse skapades en tillit i relationen. Kontinuitet nämndes som en viktig del i omvårdnaden av såväl sjuksköterskor som patienter. Sjuksköterskor uppgav att de var obekväma att vårda patienter med bensår då de upplevde sig ha otillräcklig kunskap.  Sjuksköterskorna var medvetna om rätten till smärtlindring men kände trots det en osäkerhet i att lindra smärtan hos patienter med bensår. För att främja patientens hälsa vid bensår är det av stor vikt att forskning inriktar sig på omvårdnad för att sjuksköterskan ska kunna bygga sig en kunskapsbas.

Abstract:
Bensår är ett ökande problem i samhället, detta som följd av att vi blir allt äldre. Bensår är svåra att läka och det är vanligt att de återkommer. Kroniska bensår definieras som sår som inte läker inom sex veckor. De vanligaste orsakerna till bensår är venös insufficiens, arteriell insufficiens eller en bladning av dessa. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva personers upplevelser av att leva med kroniska bensår. Det här arbetet har utförts som en litteraturstudie, där sökning av artiklar har gjorts i två databaser CINAHL och PubMed. Efter sökning i databaserna har 16 artiklar valts ut och granskats. Analysen av artiklar har gjorts genom att plocka ut förekommande fenomen i texten och kategorisera dessa i huvudteman med underteman. Analysen resulterade i tre huvudteman: smärta, aktivitetsbegränsningar och lukt och vätskande sår. Det finns många olika faktorer som påverkar personernas upplevelser av att leva med bensår, där smärta, rörelseförmågan och lukt och vätska från såret har en central roll. Studien visar på att många personer upplever att deras problem inte tas på allvar. Det holistiska synsättet inom vården måste förbättras och mer hänsyn bör tas till personernas existentiella, psykiska, sociala och kroppsliga upplevelser.

Bakgrund: Många patienter inom vården drabbas av venösa bensår och det är en orsak till både fysiskt och psykiskt lidande. Läkningstiden är lång och venösa bensår är ofta återkommande. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att beskriva hur patienter med venösa bensår uppfattar sitt sjukdomstillstånd Metod: Tio vetenskapliga artiklar med inriktning på patienters upplevelse av att leva med venösa bensår söktes fram. Sökningarna genomfördes i databaserna Cinahl och PubMed med hjälp av relevanta och vedertagna söktermer. Därefter genomfördes en analys av de utvalda artiklarna. Resultat: Patienterna upplevde problem med fysisk aktivitet, smärta och olika begränsningar i vardagen. Kompressionsbehandlingen upplevdes ofta som problematisk och något som skapade ytterligare problem trots att patienterna samtidigt trodde att kompressionsbehandlingen var den bästa behandlingsmetoden och det bästa sättet att förhindra uppkomsten av nya sår. Olika sätt att orka med sin livssituation utvecklades, s.k. coping-strategier. Diskussion: Orsaker som bidrar till ökat lidande i patientens livssituation behöver upptäckas av sjuksköterskan för att kunna hanteras på ett bra sätt. Identifikation av bidragande orsaker till lidande gör det möjligt för sjuksköterskan att åtgärda problemen och förstärka de positiva egenskaperna hos patienten. För att ha möjlighet att bedöma vad patienten behöver är det nödvändigt för en sjuksköterska att försöka förstå hur patienten upplever sin situation. Slutsats: En sjuksköterska behöver möta patienten där den är för att de båda ska befinna på samma nivå. Då kommer sjusköterskan att ha möjligheten att värna om patientens egna resurser på bästa sätt i omvårdnadsarbetet.

Bakgrund: Vid omvårdnad av personer med bensår är det lätt att lägga fokus på bensåret med risk för att den subjektiva upplevelsen kan komma i skymundan. Därför kan det vara viktigt att belysa patienters upplevelser ur ett holistiskt perspektiv. I tidigare forskning har det framkommit att livskvaliteten påverkas negativt där smärta visat sig vara en betydelsefull faktor. Syfte: Att ur ett livskvalitetsperspektiv belysa personers upplevelse av att leva med svårläkt bensår. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på 10 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ ansats. En deduktiv analys av materialet gjordes utifrån World Health Organisations definition av livskvalitet och dess sex domäner. Dessa domäner är: Fysisk domän, Psykologisk domän, Grad av oberoende, Sociala relationer, Omgivning och miljö samt Andlighet, religion och personlig tro. Resultat: Svårläkta bensår påverkade personers livskvalitet inom samtliga domänerna utom Andlighet, religion och personlig tro. Slutsats: Personer hade liknande upplevelser av att leva med svårläkta bensår. De upplevde en försämrad livskvalitet där smärtan var en framträdande upplevelse som påverkade de flesta domänerna. Klinisk betydelse: Resultatet i denna studie visade på vikten av att använda ett holistiskt perspektiv vid omvårdnadssituationer.<br>Background: When caring for people with chronic leg ulcer there is a risk that the attention of the caregiver is laid towards the leg ulcer and the subjective feelings of this person are in the background. Therefore it is of importance to illuminate peoples experience with a holistic perspective. Previous research in the field has shown that the quality of life is affected in a negative way and the pain has proven to be a significant factor. Purpose: To illuminate person‟s experience of living with a chronic leg ulcer from a quality of life perspective. Method: A review based on 10 articles with qualitative approach. The material was analyzed with a deductive method from the World Health Organization. These domains are: physical domain, psychological domain, level of independence, social relationships, environment and spirituality/religion/personal beliefs. Results: Study findings showed that chronic leg ulcers affected quality of life in all domains except within the domain Spirituality, religion and personal beliefs Conclusion: People had similar experience when living with a chronic leg ulcer. They experience a loss in quality of life due to the chronic leg ulcer and pain was a notable finding that affected almost every domain. Clinical importance: The finding in this study shows the importance of using a holistic perspective in caring-situation.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to describe patients’ experiences when living with a venous leg ulcer in physical, psychological and social perspectives. The articles used to describe this condition were found in the databases: PubMed and Cinahl. Ten articles were included in the result: five with a qualitative approach, two with a quantitative approach and three with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results were presented through three headings: physical, psychological and social. Patients’ experienced a lack of mobility due to the symptoms caused by the leg ulcer which included pain, swelling, exudates from the wound, and the volume of the bandage that made it difficult to wear shoes. Personal hygiene was also an issue because of the limitations of keeping themselves clean due to the bandaging of the leg. Common emotions to this condition were helplessness, sadness and anxiety. Though the negative emotions were more common than the positive, most patients still had hope for a future recovery. The majority of the patients lived isolated in their homes due to their health condition. The factors limiting their social life were decreased mobility, pain, exhaustion, shame, lack of endurance in the legs and limitations in clothes and shoes. The most common factor affecting patients was pain, seen throughout all three perspectives.

<p>Ökad risk för bensår kan ha ett samband med en allt äldre befolkning. För att kunna ge rätt behandling måste sjuksköterskan bli medveten om hur livskvaliteten förändras för patienten i samband med bensår. Syftet var att beskriva hur vaskulära bensår påverkar äldre personers upplevda livskvalitet. Metoden som användes var systematisk litteraturstudie. Databaser som användes var Cinahl och PubMed. Resultatet av sökningen blev elva artiklar med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats. Resultatet visade att livskvaliteten försämrades hos patienter med bensår. En orsak till försämrad livskvalitet var smärta. Kontakten med andra människor minskade då patienterna med bensår undvek att röra sig ute och delta i sociala aktiviteter. Immobilitet gjorde att många patienter med bensår blev frustrerade och det ledde till en sämre livskvalitet. Familjens roller omfördelades vilket ledde till att självbilden förändrades negativt hos patienter med bensår. Patienter med bensår var i behov av stöd och information för att ha en möjlighet att uppnå god livskvalitet. Sjuksköterskan måste bemöta patienten med bensår på ett empatiskt sätt. Hon måste också lyssna på patientens upplevelse av att leva med bensår. Det behövs mer kvalitativ forskning om hur övriga familjen påverkas av att en familjemedlem är drabbad av bensår.</p>

<p>BAKGRUND: Patienter med bensår återfinns inom hela sjukvården. Detta innebär att många sjuksköterskor kommer att möta dessa patienter i sitt arbete oberoende av var de arbetar. Distriktssköterskor kan ägna upp till hälften av sin arbetstid till bensårsbehandling. Patienter med bensår lider ofta av smärtor. Såren påverkar deras livskvalité och begränsar deras liv. SYFTE: Denna studies syfte var att belysa omvårdnaden vid smärtsamma bensår, ur såväl ett sjuksköterske- som patientperspektiv. METOD: En litteraturöversikt baserad på vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet grundas på 14 artiklar, med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ metod. RESULTAT: Fyra huvudtema framkom; Smärtkontroll, Interaktion mellan sjuksköterska och patient, Social gemenskap och Kunskapsutveckling. Många patienter med bensår hade smärtor som inte uppmärksammades av sjuksköterskan, då patienterna inte alltid påtalade detta. Sjuksköterskor har ett viktigt arbete i att kontinuerligt smärtskatta och följa upp smärtlindringen. Optimal sårbehandling förutsätter ett gott samarbete mellan patient och sjuksköterska. Den sociala gemenskapen är en viktig del i patientens välbefinnande och främjar sårläkning och minskar smärta. Både patienter och sjuksköterskor saknar tillräckliga kunskaper om bensår.</p>

Piezoelectric micro benders are fabricated and tested to demonstrate energy generating performance. Trapezoidal and diagonal unimorph PZT benders with an interdigitated electrode pattern are utilized. The d33 mode design is beneficial for the micro energy harvesting devices because it can generate higher voltage than that of the d31 mode design. It can also eliminate a bottom electrode by only using an interdigitated top electrode which facilitates fabrication, as opposed to the d31 mode design that requires both top and bottom electrodes. The MEMS benders consist of layers of SiO2/SiNx/ZrO2/PZT, and a top Au/Cr interdigitated electrode. The experimental results indicate that the fundamental frequencies of the micro benders are about 9.1 kHz for the trapezoidal bender and 18.48 kHz for the diagonal bender, respectively. The micro trapezoidal bender can generate power of approximately 1.4μW into a 680 kΩ resistive load at the resonant frequency. The diagonal bender can generate power of about 18.2 μW into a 100 kΩ resistive load at the resonant frequency.

Abstract:
This paper describes the design, simulation and testing of a piezoelectrically-actuated two stage spool valve. The first stage is a small spool controlled by a piezoelectric ring bender and the second stage is a closed loop position controlled main spool. A dynamic mathematical model of the valve has been derived. Step response tests for both the first stage and second stage are presented, and experimental second stage frequency response results are shown. The mathematical models for the amplifier, first stage and second stage spool behaviour are validated against experimental data. The second stage spool behaviour is found to be very sensitive to the first stage flow characteristics. In addition, the displacement of the hydraulic fluid by the piezoelectric ring bender, from one side of the piezoelectric ring bender to the other, had a significant impact on the valve characteristics.

Abstract:
This report presents findings of a research effort aimed at reviewing and updating existing Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) specifications and manuals regarding the use of geosynthetic materials in pavements. The project consisted of three tasks: evaluate current IDOT practice related to the use of geosynthetics; review research and state of the practice on geosynthetics applications, available products, design methods, and specifications; and propose recommendations for geosynthetic solutions in pavements to modernize IDOT’s practices and manuals. The review of IDOT specifications revealed that geotextiles are the most used geosynthetic product in Illinois, followed by geogrids. Several of IDOT’s manuals have comprehensive guidelines to properly design and construct pavements with geosynthetics, but several knowledge gaps and potential areas for modernization and adoption of new specifications still exist. Based on the review of the available design methods and the most relevant geosynthetic properties and characterization methods linked to field performance, several updates to IDOT’s practice were proposed. Areas of improvement are listed as follows. First, establish proper mechanisms for using geogrids, geocells, and geotextiles in subgrade restraint and base stabilization applications. This includes using shear wave transducers, i.e., bender elements, to quantify local stiffness enhancements and adopting the Giroud and Han design method for subgrade restraint applications. Second, update IDOT’s Subgrade Stability Manual to include property requirements for geogrids, geotextiles, and geocells suitable for subgrade restraint applications. Third, establish proper standards on stabilization, separation, and pumping resistance for geotextiles by incorporating recent research findings on geotextile clogging and permeability criteria. Fourth, promote the use of modern geosynthetic products, such as geotextiles with enhanced lateral drainage, and fifth, elaborate on proper methods for construction/quality control measures for pavements with geosynthetics.
