Dalam meresponi setiap doa, Tuhan memiliki otoritas untuk menjawab atau tidak menjawab doa-doa itu. Ia memiliki kewenangan mutlak yang tidak dapat diintervensi oleh siapa pun. Abraham menyadari bahwa Sodom dan Gomora berada dalam ambang penghancuran dari Tuhan. Karena itu, tidak ada pilihan lain kecuali memohon kepada Tuhan dalam doa. Desa Tanah Wulan Kecamatan Maesan Kabupaten Bondowoso merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di lereng pegunungan Argopuro. Mayoritas penduduk di Desa Tanah Wulan berkerja sebagai petani kopi.
