Abstract:
One of the variants of pneumoconiosis is berylliosis, which is caused by dust or vapors of metallic beryllium that is widely used in space, aviation and nuclear engineering, rocketry, instrument making, etc. Therefore, beryllium intoxication is possible in employees of the above-mentioned industries who have contact with metallic beryllium or its compounds, as well as in workers of the mining industry who extract beryllium from ore. The incidence of berylliosis among workers who have contact with beryllium and its compounds is 0.3%7.5%. People with different contact periods became sick from se

Beryllium (Be) is a light metal that is widely used in various fields of industry. The usage of beryllium is common in aviation, nuclear and defense industries, jewelry, electronic industries and many others. Cases of toxic effects of beryllium in workers of various industries are not uncommon. Beryllium enters the human body mainly through respiratory organs, causing a specific professional disease called berylliosis. This disease is manifested mainly by dyspnea, shortness of breath and dry cough. Chronic beryllium disease progresses to pulmonary fibrosis and associated with an increased

Abstract:
Chronic beryllium disease (CBD), or berylliosis, is an interstitial lung disease caused by the chronic inhalation of finely particulate beryllium, frequently mistaken for sarcoidosis. It is rarely associated with skin nodular lesions, asymptomatic granulomatous hepatitis or calcium nephrolithiasis. To date, it has never been reported as a diffused multi-organ granulomatous disease. A 60-year-old Pakistani man, a former excavation worker with ancient history of suspected sarcoidosis, underwent a left nephroureterectomy for suspected papillary kidney carcinoma. The histopathological analysis sho

Abstract:
Abstract Chronic beryllium disease (CBD) provides a model for study of the Ag-stimulated, cell-mediated immune response that, over time, progresses to granulomatous lung disease. Using cells obtained with bronchoalveolar lavage from patients with CBD and normal individuals, we evaluated beryllium salt-stimulated T lymphocyte proliferation and production of proinflammatory cytokines. Our findings demonstrate that beryllium sulfate stimulates production of both IL-2 and IFN-gamma, not IL-4 and IL-7. We observed a brief time course for IL-2 protein (6-48 h after BeSO4 stimulation) and mRNA produc
