Abstract:
We establish wavelet characterizations of homogeneous Besov spaces on stratified Lie groups, both in terms of continuous and discrete wavelet systems. We first introduce a notion of homogeneous Besov spaceB˙p,qsin terms of a Littlewood-Paley-type decomposition, in analogy to the well-known characterization of the Euclidean case. Such decompositions can be defined via the spectral measure of a suitably chosen sub-Laplacian. We prove that the scale of Besov spaces is independent of the precise choice of Littlewood-Paley decomposition. In particular, different sub-Laplacians yield the same Besov

AbstractLet ℓ ∊ ℕ and α > (§, 2ℓ). In this article, the authors establish equivalent characterizations of Besov-type spaces, Triebel–Lizorkin-type spaces, and Besov–Morrey spaces via the sequence {ƒ-Bl,2-kƒ}k consisting of the diòerence between f and the ball average Bl,2-kƒ. These results lead to the introduction of Besov-type spaces, Triebel–Lizorkin-type spaces, and Besov–Morrey spaceswith any positive smoothness order onmetricmeasure spaces. As special cases, the authors obtain a new characterization ofMorrey–Sobolev spaces and Qα spaces with ∈ > (0, 1), which are of independent inte

The notion of a localization property of Besov spaces is introduced by G. Further, he has provided that the Besov spaces $B^{s}_{p,q}$ are embedded into localized Besov spaces $(B^{s}_{p,q})_{\ell^{p}}$ (i.e., $B^{s}_{p,q}\hookrightarrow(B^{s}_{p,q})_{\ell^{p}},$ for $p\geq q$). Abstract First we compute the trace space of Besov spaces – characterized via atomic decompositions – on fractals Γ, for parameters 0 < p < ∞, 0 < q ≤ min(1, p) and s = (n – d)/p. New Besov spaces on fractals are defined via traces for 0 < p, q ≤ ∞, s ≥ (n – d)/p and some embedding assertions are established. We conclude by studying the compactness of the trace operator TrΓ by giving sharp estimates for entropy and approximation numbers of compact embeddings between Besov spaces. Our results on Besov spaces remain valid considering the classical spaces defined via differences. The

We consider the problem of characterising Besov-Lipshitz and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces using kernels with limited smoothness and decay. This extends the work of H.-Q. Bui et al in [4] and [5] from kernels in S to more general kernels, including the Poisson kernel. We overcome the difficulty of defining the convolution of a general kernel with a distribution by using the concept of a bounded distribution introduced by E. Stein [12]. The characterisations we obtain are valid for the full range of indices.

We look at the mixed boundary value problem for elliptic operators in a bounded C1,1(ℝn) domain. The boundary is decomposed into disjoint parts, D and N, with Dirichlet and Neumann data, respectively. Expanding on work done by Ott and Brown, we find a larger range of values of p, 1 < p < n/(n-1), for which the Lp mixed problem has a unique solution with the non-tangential maximal function of the gradient in Lp(∂Ω).
