Abstract After preliminary screening of the inhibition characteristics and performance of 5 corrosion inhibitors (designated A, B, C, D, & E) under simulated CO2/H2S environment in the HT-HP flowing autoclave, the best two corrosion inhibitors (corrosion inhibitors A & B) were selected for further flow loop testing under simulated North Sea pipeline service conditions. The worst case pipeline service conditions (90% synthetic field brine/10% hydrocarbon (depolarized kerosene) environment with H2S (partial pressure 0.075 psia [0.5 KPa]) and CO2 (partial pressure 75 psia [0.5 MPa]) were

Abstract Mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and immunity to environmentally assisted cracking are the key elements in selection of fasteners for sub-sea applications. While corrosion resistance and mechanical properties are attainable, finding materials that offer resistance to cracking in seawater service in areas of intense cathodic polarization or in galvanically coupled systems has been a major challenge. High strength low alloy steels have had acceptable performance in cathodically protected systems. Their applications have been limited to maximum yield strength of 140 ksi (965 M

Abstract Initial production in the deep water Gulf of Mexico has been underway for nearly 10 years. Secondary recovery methods are now in the planning stage. One of these methods is seawater injection. A number of operators in the North Sea have already started using this technique. Consideration of a water flood brings on the possibility of reservoir souring. For the Gulf of Mexico, a review of the materials of construction for existing wells found that well casing and completions were designed for sweet service, consequently a fitness for purpose testing qualification approach was undertaken

The central objectives of this study were to establish the main experiences of microfinance institutions (MFIs), and their clients, in the Caribbean islands of Barbados and Dominica. Implicit in these objectives was an attempt to identify what procedures were working and which were not in order to offer recommendations for the restructuring of the MFI sector in the Caribbean, and the creation of new, efficient MFIs. This report validates the efficacy of viable alternatives sulfur-free odorants for use in pure hydrogen pipeline and storage application (as compared to natural gas). Viable odorants are defined as odorants whose minimum characteristics are related to alarming odor, physical properties, chemical properties, and preferably, quality factors as already defined for traditional sulfur-based odorants, meeting the requirements outlined in ISO 13734. The document complements what is already known in the current literature with lab experiments (incl. human olfactory testing), identifies the promising s

Background. In the United States, patients referred to as high-need, high-cost (HNHC) constitute a very small percentage of the patient population but account for a disproportionally high level of healthcare use and cost. Payers, health systems, and providers would like to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for HNHC patients and reduce their costly use of potentially preventable or modifiable healthcare services, including emergency department (ED) and hospital visits. Methods. We assessed evidence of criteria that identify HNHC patients (best fit framework synthesis); developed p

The term "Human Factors" has become a buzz phrase in the pipeline industry, and rightfully so. Root cause analyses of many failures point to human error as the cause. However, in the pipeline industry, "Human Factors" generally refers to ergonomics, fatigue, stress, environment, and communication. JTrain, Inc.'s research looks at Human Factors from an educational viewpoint; how is transfer of knowledge from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Level IIIs certified technicians to Non Destructive Examination (NDE) technicians presently performed, and how can it be improved to ensure actual learning

Abstract:
Weather and climate science and services have never been more important. The risks from high-impact weather events, and how they might change in our changing climate, rank high in many national and corporate risk registers. Better forecasts, with longer lead times, tailored to impacts help to minimise the damage and realise the opportunities. At the same time enabling technology is changing at an ever-increasing pace: novel supercomputers promise enormous power if harnessed effectively; public sector cloud-based technology offers profoundly new ways of analysing data; and data sciences and art

Different databases, initiatives and reports aim to capture the state of the terrorist threat to a given country or region. It is less often, however, that these products focus on counter-terrorism nor do they feature the views of frontline practitioners on terrorism. This ICCT report addresses the aforementioned gap. By combining practitioner perspectives gathered through an anonymous survey with detailed, structured narratives from more than 70 national security documents, the report captures both operational realities and strategic priorities of countering terrorism in the EU as of 2025. Number of departures give reference to the time aspect of bus service quality, but say nothing about the geographical aspect. Abstract:
People with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression (SOGIE) are a hard-to-reach population. This is because of restrictive legal frameworks, social exclusion, stigma and discrimination in service delivery. Because people with diverse SOGIE often avoid seeking healthcare at government health centres, mpox-related health services might not reach them. Contact tracing can be stymied by laws that criminalise same-sex behaviour. In contexts where sodomy laws are enforced and arrests are being made, listing same-sex partners can be akin to admitting to criminal behaviour
