Full textThe first part of this thesis focus on in the set up of several HPC design, with various fine admixture (silica fume, fly ash, microash and ultrafine cement), using a local materials. It had been judge more realistic to opt for a classical designing meyhod (based on Baron-Lesage method), suited to HPC case. This choice is due notably to the insufficiency of the grout method "méthode des coulis", developped in LCPC. Than the compressive strength of HPC reach 80 MPa. The second part is consecrate to the study of HPC structure elements mechanical behaviour. Bending tests on over-reinforced beams, with different class of concrete have been carried out. It is shown that the confining of HPC did not bring about a significatif improvement of resistant moments, it permits, nevertheless a benefit of ductility. A quantitative valuation of the simplified calculus diagrams predictions, suggested by the BAEL 91, AFREM 95, ACI, CSA and NZS codes is studied. It is shown that if certain code still conservative yet, others give the best predictions. Bending tests on slabs and prisms, with steel fibre reinforced HPC have been carried out in order to observe the HPC post peak behaviour. It is shown that from a certain dosage of fibre, the post peak behaviour is improved clearly

Full textThis thesis deals with microstructural and durability performances of environmentally friendly Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) by integrating high volumes of Blast Furnace Slag (BFS) with and without activation. Three substitution rates of cement by slag are used (30%, 50% and 80%). Results show that a slag content of 30% improves slightly the compressive strength of UHPC whereas the strength of UHPCs containing 50% and 80% of slag are significantly reduced particularly at early age. At 3 days when the slag content increases, the porosity of UHPC mixtures with high slag contents increases. In contrast, at 90 days the volume of capillary pores decreases greatly and the global pores network becomes finer when cement is substituted by BFS. This results in decreasing gas permeability coefficients around (30-61%) and chloride diffusion (up to 4 times). Results show also that all tested UHPCs have quite the same CO2 depths after exposure of 1 year. Indeed, the decrease of porosity due to slag incorporation, is balanced by the decrease of pH which promotes CO2 diffusion. The chemical/thermal activation improves the packing density and the mechanical and durability properties of UHPC. From an environmental standpoint and considering the functional unit “1 m3 of UHPC with 150 MPa”, the partial substitution of cement with BFS decreases the environmental impacts of UHPC, even for thermally activated blended UHPCs

Full textIn a context of global warming and planned end of fossil fuels, the construction industry aims to reduce by 38% its energy consumption and to achieve 10% of bio-based materials used in construction in 2020. Thus, the hemp concrete can play a major role thanks to its positive environmental impact and its hygrothermal properties that allow it to ensure a role of heat damper and comfort stabilizer. Or hygrothermal behavior of hemp concrete throughout the building is little discussed in the literature and never for commercial buildings. The main objective of this project is to fill this gap by studying and optimizing the energy performance of a hemp concrete building designed for offices and / or classrooms. To ensure inside thermal comfort, different technical solutions will be coupled to the building and compared with each other: - A double flow thermodynamical ventilation combining a heat pump with a double flow central. - A simple flow ventilation associated to a pipe system which recovers heat from the basement to preheat ventilation air in winter and cool in the summer. - A double flow ventilation associated to a Canadian well. Through computer simulation and measurements made initially at the level of components, it will be possible to evaluate the potential of each component on the energy and hygrothermal comfort of commercial buildings mainly integrating the project boundary Grand Campus Reims but also can be extended to other French specificity climates

Full textTinctures defined as hydro-alcoholic extracts have been used from centuries in homeopathy and phytotherapy, but their chemical compositions remain still unknown. During my PhD, metabolomics analyses of nineteen tinctures and one leader product, L52, made by Laboratoires Lehning, were conducted using untargeted metabolomic approach. We build GC-MS and UPLC-MS/MS databases to identify a large amount of metabolites. Then, we used semi-preparative HPLC with both UV and mass detection to isolate some compounds from tinctures. We used UPLC-HRMS to obtain chemical formula, a prerequisite for metabolites identification. Finally, we identified a broad range of different metabolites in each tincture, highlighting the metabolic complexity of the TMs. These molecules can now be used for quality-control and valued for a better understanding of these products on human health
