Bamboo is a non-timber forest product with a very large population in Indonesia. One of them is bamboo betung which can be found from the lowlands to the highlands but has not been used properly. Therefore, research was conducted to utilize bamboo betung to benefit the society. In this study, the synthesis of graphene oxide (GO) from bamboo betung stems will be carried out. The purpose of GO synthesis to further observe the crystal structure and crystal size of GO itself because it can be applied in various fields such as wave absorbers, radio frequency electronics, data display panels, and ph

Thermal properties are important factors to determine the proper manufacturing, processing, and storing of biocomposites. Therefore, the thermal properties of the biocomposite made from acetylated betung bamboo pulp and polypropylene (PP) were investigated. The biocomposite was manufactured by hot pressing at 180 oC for 2 minutes and the fiber contents of the acetylated bamboo pulp used were 10 and 20% according to PP weight. The influence of acetylation and fiber content of bamboo pulp on the thermal properties of the biocomposite were investigated by using differential scanning calorimeter (

Abstract To reduce dependence on wheat flour, it is necessary to find substitutes for flour from local food. As local food, bamboo shoots (betung) and swamp tubers (alabio and nagara) have the potential to be processed into flour even though they have relatively low characteristics. To improve the flour characteristics, it can be made by modifying the flour biologically. The purpose of this study was to investigate modified fibre-rich flour derived from bamboo shoot and swamp tuber through fermentation and to formulate the flours as functional food.
