Aşağıseyit Höyük, Denizli ili, Çal ilçesi sınırları içinde bulunan Aşağıseyit Mahallesi’nin yaklaşık 1,5 km güneydoğusunda yer almaktadır. Cuneiform tablets indicate the importance of textile manufacturing in the Bronze Age Old Assyrian Colony Period and Hittite Empire, yet the organic traces of this industry rarely survive. Two burnt textile fragments found at Beycesultan offer an unexpected insight into the Bronze Age textile industry in Anatolia. Höyük Settlement is located within the boundary of Çal district of Denizli Province. It was strategically located on a natural passage and an important centre surrounded by walls during the 2nd millennium BC. A paint-decorated pottery tradition is observed in Inner Southwest Anatolia from the early 16th century B.C. to the 11th century B.C. These pottery items, which are characterised by red, brown or black paint decorations over gold wash ware, were first discovered at Beycesultan Höyük and Aphrodisias followed by a significant recent discovery at Laodikeia Asopos Tepesi excavations and included in the Late Bronze Age repertory.
