This article researches the biased content of the propagandistic channel RT through the prism of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). It attempts to uncover the linguistic means of creating biased content in RT headlines that cover the Venezuela’s post-coup crisis of 2019-2020. It offers a CDA approach to the systemic bias in the headlines of 375 news stories featured on one of the most tendentious webcasters, the Russian state news provider RT. The current CDA focuses on presuppositions and implicatures, back- and fore-grounding, agency, lexis, punctuation, and briefly on other figurative lingu

Abstract Sickle cell disease (SCD) is highly clinically variable. Because prediction of adverse outcomes is imprecise, it is difficult to determine which young children would benefit most from early, specific therapies, such as hydroxyurea, chronic transfusion, or stem cell transplantation. Therefore, identification of prognostic features in early childhood would be clinically important. Birth weight is a risk factor for cerebral and coronary vascular disease in the general population, so it might also be predictive of morbidity or mortality due to sickle vasculopathy. Abstract The development of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in Lewis rats is mediated by V beta 8.2+ T cells specific for myelin basic protein. One consequence of this biased expression of V beta 8.2 is the spontaneous development of regulatory T cells and antibodies against residues 39-59 of the V beta 8.2 sequence. Moreover, a synthetic V beta 8.2-39-59 peptide could induce protection against and speed recovery from EAE. T cells and antibodies specific for V beta 8.2-39-59 could transfer protection from EAE. Recently, we reported that the protective T cell epitope is subsumed

Abstract Background: Resolvin E1 (RvE1) and leukotriene B4 (LTB4) are both agonists of the BLT1 receptor (aka LTB4R1) but elicit distinct biological outcomes due to biased agonism. Activation of BLT1 promotes CD8+ T cell recruitment to the tumor, which enables effective immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) immunotherapy. However, LTB4, a pro-inflammatory lipid mediator, also promotes tumor progression through neutrophilic inflammation and is found at elevated levels in human cancers. In contrast, RvE1 selectively activates BLT1 to promote phagocytosis of tumor debris without causing inflammation.

Both types of mutations lead to constitutive activation of the receptor and transformation of hematopoietic cell lines to cytokine independence. About 30% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases harbor FLT3 mutations, which are now targets for inhibition by numerous small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). However, molecularly targeted inhibition of kinases in patients often

Regardless of electronic biases anti-Markovnikov hydrogermylation is observed in high yields. Bio-convection is an important phenomenon which is described by hydrodynamic instability and pattern in suspension of biased swimming microorganisms. This hydrodynamics instability arises due to the coupling force between the motion of the micoorganisms and fluid flow.
