Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to analyze, based on the gathering of articles and bibliographies of the area, the evolutive aspects and the role of communication in marketing with the emergence of new media. Concepts such as Marketing, Marketing Mix, promotion/ communication, mass media and new media were studied, as well as the impact caused by technology. The analysis of this information allowed to chart a general framework with the main characteristics of both categories of media and the factors that contributed to this evolution, besides evaluating the challenges for communication in Marketing. The new media required a change in the role and thinking of Marketing, since impersonal communication gave way to interactivity. And it should be noted here that the Marketing area is striving to keep up with these changes.

Abstract:
Abstract This research work presents a modelling strategy to analyse thermal conversion rates of two thermal wood modification processes based on time-temperature superposition method. It gathers in a single study different original and bibliographic experimental works analysing the dry mass variation that occurs during thermal and hydro-thermal wood modification processes. The mass loss kinetic was successfully modelled using a modified Arrhenius approach. The time-temperature superposition method allowed to define for each wood modification process a master curve and its time shift depending on the treatment temperature. The analysis of ventilated oven and saturated steam treatments pointed out the existence of a continuous single kinetic for the ventilated oven which became more complex for saturated steam since a second kinetic stage appeared. This kinetic difference was sustained by infrared spectra chemical analysis which showed that hemicelluloses degraded much faster in presence of steam while lignin degradation occurred in both conditions.

Abstract:
The diversity of media means not only a variety of content and multiplicity of media owners, but also a variety of types of media. Together with the traditional models of public service and private commercial broadcasting, the community media emerged as the “third level” of media development, which contributed to strengthening the freedom of speech. This article examines the organizational and legal aspects of formation of local public audiovisual media in Ukraine, their compliance with the standards and principles of media legislation of European countries, and provides the examples of development of local public broadcasting in the world practice. In addition, the international standards for community broadcasting, on which legislative and regulatory bodies rely, are analyzed. The objective of the study is to analyze, to systematize and to generalize the basic legislative norms for formation of audiovisual media communities in Ukraine as a separate media institution along with public, commercial broadcasting and broadcasting abroad. The bibliographic method was used to study and to analyze the legislative documents. With the help of the systemic method, the community broadcasting as an integral system mass media was considered. The comparative method was used to compare the legislative regulation of activities of media communities, recommended by the Council of Europe and represented in the legislation of Ukraine. The article outlines the main provisions of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Media” No. 2693-d. Comparing the Ukrainian legislative initiatives with the European experience, the suggestions and proposals for improving the financing system and the program policy of community broadcasting in Ukraine are presented.

Abstract:
The article considers the linguistic specifics of modeling the image of Taras Shevchenko in foreign media. The author's attention is focused on the great image-forming potential of this iconic, precedent for Ukrainian culture personality and the importance of its correct presentation in the modern media space. It is determined that Ukrainians themselves are the main creators of image texts about Kobzar in the world media. Thus, three main channels of image information about Shevchenko abroad are analyzed: (1) cultural diplomacy as a part of the "soft power" policy; (2) the Ukrainian diaspora, which addresses the figure of Kobzar in the media; (3) information resources of world encyclopedic publications dedicated to the poet. Thus, the study of the linguistic and image specifics of the representation of Shevchenko in the foreign media proves that a great deal of image-making work in this aspect is carried out by cultural diplomacy, which represents Ukraine and its national cultural products in the world information space. Thanks to the efforts of cultural diplomacy, Shevchenko is known and appreciated abroad, as evidenced by the activities of Ukrainian embassies. In the context of linguistic imageology, the information presented by Ukrainian embassies is unambiguously of image nature, which confirms the use of effective linguistic means of image modeling: metaphors, personifications, emotionally-evaluative lexemes, epithet forms of the word, which verbalize positive author's assessment of the covered information. An equally important linguistic tool for modeling the poet's image is the use of creolized media texts that have great suggestive properties and significant image potential. In addition, Shevchenko's positive image abroad is successfully constructed by the media resources of the Ukrainian diaspora. The author's attention in this research context is attracted by the leading Canadian and Australian media. From the standpoint of linguistic imageology, effective means of forming the image of Kobzar in the considered foreign media are emotional and evaluative lexemes with elements of hyperbole, paraphrase with a positive semantics, the use of oxymoron etc. The article emphasizes that Shevchenko's positive image abroad is created not only at the textual level, but also at the extralinguistic level, which is realized in the annual holding of numerous mass events related to the celebration of Shevchenko's days. In turn, a high assessment of the poet's work and his role in Ukrainian cultural life is found in world encyclopedic publications: Encyclopædia Britannica, Oxford World Encyclopedia, bibliographic fund of The Library of Congress etc. Thus, the study convinces that Taras Shevchenko is a bright image figure of modern foreign media space, which forms not only internal but also external image of Ukraine. That is why its correct presentation in world media should be one of the priorities of the national image strategy.

Abstract:
Index Blending is the process of database development whereby various components are merged and refined to create a single encompassing source of information. Once a research need is determined for a given area of study, existing resources are examined for value and possible contribution to the end product. Index Blending focuses on the quality of bibliographic records as the primary factor with the addition of full text to enhance the end user’s research experience as an added convenience. Key examples of the process of Index Blending involve the fields of communication and mass media, hospitality and tourism, as well as computers and applied sciences. When academia, vendors, subject experts, lexicographers, and other contributors are brought together through the various factors associated with Index Blending, relevant discipline-specific research may be greatly enhanced.

Abstract:
The purpose of our study was to understand the nature of the reality show phenomenon in the system of mass communication through analysis of Ukrainian media market of reality shows. For this purpose we have used a broad methodological base: a descriptive method for identifying the features of reality show and journalism, a bibliographic method for processing scientific sources, an inductive method to determine the functioning of reality show, the method of comparative analysis to understand relationship between journalism and reality show, historic-typological method to classify reality shows, methods of generalization and structuring to develop a modern structure of mass communication. The main results of the research are the following: we found that reality show is a product of journalistic activity; the concept of “reality show” and “reality television” is clearly determined. Reality show is a format of a television product in which the actions and emotions of true people in real-life or in specially modelled situations are observed, characterized by accomplishment of unusual actions and constant commentary on everything that happens to them. This category includes competitions, dating, makeover, etc. Reality TV is a type of television program that demonstrates non-played situations in which real people, whether ordinary citizens or politicians and stars of show business, find themselves. The value of our research is that the correlation between reality show, its types and reality TV is clearly established. Reality TV consists of: 1) reality shows; 2) studio/gaming shows (talk show, late night show, game show), 3) broadcasting events (sports, music events, awards ceremony, etc.). Reality TV belongs to the category of entertainment television. In this study the classification of reality shows has been improved, a whole series of functions of the reality show programs has been identified (entertainment, information, recreation, education, social integration and public control), it is proved that reality show has a great potential in the context of mass communication.

Abstract:
Over the past 30 years we have seen a strong but uncoordinated effort to both increase the availability of numeric materials-property data in electronic media and to make the resultant mass of data more readily accessible and searchable for the end-user engineer. The end user is best able to formulate the question and to judge the utility of the answer for numeric property data inquiries, in contrast to textual or bibliographic data for which information specialists can expeditiously carry out searches.Despite the best efforts of several major programs, there remains a shortfall with respect to comprehensiveness and a gap between the goal of easy access to all the world's numeric databases and what can presently be achieved. The task has proven thornier and therefore much more costly than anyone envisioned, and computer access to data for materials scientists and engineers is still inadequate compared, for example, to the situation for molecular biologists or astronomers. However, progress has been made. More than 100 materials databases are listed and categorized by Wawrousek et al. that address several types of applications including: fundamental research, materials selection, component design, process control, materials identification and equivalency, expert systems, and education. Standardization is improving and access has been made more easy.In the discussion that follows, we will examine several characteristics of available information and delivery systems to assess their impact on the successes and limitations of the available products. The discussion will include the types and uses of the data, issues around data reliability and quality, the various formats in which data need to be accessed, and the various media available for delivery. Then we will focus on the state of the art by giving examples of the three major media through which broad electronic access to numeric properties has emerged: on-line systems, workstations, and disks, both floppy and CD-ROM. We will also cite some resources of where to look for numeric property data.

Abstract:
Society, countries, chaps and organizations are going through an atypical moment in history because of the Covid-19 pandemic, which highlights the need to strategically propose local, regional and planetary solutions for phenomena that affect the health and the economy. In this context, the communication of organizations is driven by the frenetic circulation of content and meanings disseminated by digital media, a phenomenon that has changed - and continues to change - the modes of subjectivation, conversation and sociability, as it elevates the actors, the shares to infinity and the connections. This challenging environment constitutes a favorable territory for building relationships, but also foments of conflicts and reputational crises that may involve people, governments, institutions, brands, organizations, etc. Hence, the current scenario shows that the production of information and the building of relationships through digital media reflect on identity, image and reputation. We highlight the existence of a fine line that can become unfavorable through controversial and contradictory communicative actions, given that the contents are disseminated and subject to all kinds of evaluation by the “inhabitants” of the online ecosystem. The organizational performance must align ethical, transparent and coherent principles with corporate and public objectives, as well as paying attention to the rapid changes on the contemporary society. The monitoring of communication becomes a fundamental tool so that, given the fast connections made possible by the development of digital technologies and media, organizations can prevent and manage possible crises and conflicts. These theoretical-pragmatic scenario reinforce the nature of the Public Relations activity as a true sine qua non, as poorly planned speeches and strategies can trigger negative reactions when produced in a time of heightened social sensitivity. In conclusion, the scenario also points to challenges related to the surveillance of citizens, which cover issues related to security, integrity and privacy. Thus, the objective of this article is to analyze, discursively, based on the notion of ethos, two audiovisual utterances from Rede Globo de Televisão on its official Youtube channel, in July 2020, entitled: “Globo – Qualidade também é respeito” and “Globo – Qualidade também é brasilidade”. The methodological procedures correspond to bibliographic research, discussing themes such as digital media, public relations, identity, image, reputation and organizations, and principles of discourse analysis, discussing the production of meaning effects in images of the self (ethos) that can produce cognitive dissonance in the audience. We investigated surveys carried out and made available by the Public Relations consultancy entitled Edelman to understand the trust of citizens in the Brazilian media, which show that more than half of the interviewees distrust the mass media. We infer that ethical, honesty and truth issues become central to reputation due to the acceleration of mediatization processes, marked by interactivity, participation, and clashes, launching organizations into an ocean of vulnerability characterized by praise, boycotts and cancellations who place the strategic management of public relations as imperative in the face of reverberations and negative conversations about the image and reputation of organizations on the digital media.

Abstract:
The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has surprised health authorities around the world producing a global health crisis. This research discusses the main psychosocial stressors associated with COVID-19 in the literature, and the responses of global public mental health services to these events. Thus, a consensus and critical review were performed using both primary sources, such as scientific articles and secondary ones, such as bibliographic indexes, web pages, and databases. The main search engines were PubMed, SciELO, and Google Scholar. The method was a systematic literature review (SLR) of the available literature regarding mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic to conduct the present narrative review. Different stressors are identified in this pandemic, from psychophysiological, confinement, to social and work. Depending on the level of severity and the country of origin, various interventions have been applied that mark different ways of returning to normality and preparing new interventions. This new stressor has a direct impact on the mental health of the population, provoking governments, and health services to become more flexible, innovate and adapt to the changing situation. The use of technology and mass media could be an important tool in this aim. Independent of this, preparing the general population for possible future waves of the pandemic is currently the best measure to mitigate more serious effects on the mental health of the population.

Abstract:
IntroductionAn ingenious combination of the latest video, computer, and satellitetechnologies has brought about an unprecedented telecommunicationrevolution. This phenomenal progress, and the resultant power it gives oneperson over millions of others (and one nation over many others), hasapparently generated myriad opportunities for humanity. Williams (1982, 195-9)states: “Just as the international political order up to the 19th century washighly influenced by control of sea lanes, and in the 20th century by airplaneand missile capabilities, so too may we expect international politics to betied to control of the powerful new worldwide communication networks(already in place). Those who control the networks could control the world.”Whether or not humanity utilizes these tools for its betterment dependsupon the beliefs, values, attitudes, and behaviors of those who control themedia. Humanity’s record so far in this respect is decidedly mixed. The content of communication is the communicator’s ideas, whichinfluence the cognitive (conceptual/perceptual) , affective (attitudinal), andconative (behavioral) aspects of an audience’s life. It is therefore necessaryto formulate valid methods and techniques of looking into various uses andthe impact of mass communication media on society.Ideological Background of the Modern Use of Mass MediaMedia analysis has existed since the first nonverbal communicationbetween humans, as has mass communication (i.e., public spealung and publicannouncements). Publications devoted to the organizational structure of library and information services are analysed. It is shown how the organizational structure of services has historically changed; in what periods, in addition to the Reading room, there appeared Lending department, Extension library service, Reference and bibliographic division, Mass work department, Media library, Center for legal and social information, Remote library service, etc. There are proved the reasons caused the emergence of new structural divisions: changes in society and culture, growth of the number of users, increase in demand for separate types of documents, etc. There are presented characteristic features of structuring within library and information services: the category of users, the form of service provided and terms of receiving the service, the area or subject of documents, the type of documents, the language of the document text, the function performed by the employee. The analysis of structure of library and information services of 55 regional libraries of the Russian Federation is presented. There are compared the structures of these libraries in 1980 and now. It is shown that changes in the structure of library and information services are associated with the use of modern information and communication technologies, certain steps in humanization of society in relation to people with disabilities and other socially vulnerable groups of the population, with the aim to preserve the tradition of reading, regional culture, culture of small peoples, as well as the need to attract a significant number of people to the library as an information and cultural centre, and to make it attractive for the young people.

Abstract:
This article deals with the research of journalistic, publicistic and editorial activities of F. Dudkо. A considerable amount of the scholarship has been devoted to the study of his literary heritage. However, journalistic, publicistic and editorial activities remain out of the scholarly discourse and await the rigorous and unbiased research. This situation is due, first of all, to the fact that many important facts of his collaboration with the media are recorded only in the press. The article reproduces a linear biography of F. Dudkо. The little-known fragments of his life and activities during the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917―1921s and the 1920—30s are introduced into the scholarship. The article’s findings show that F. Dudko’s publications were published under the pseudonym of Did Yakiv in the «Vidrodzhennia» newspaper. We have elucidated the facts of F. Dudkо’s collaboration with newspapers and magazines «Vidrodzhennia», «Zhyttia i Znannia», «Nazustrich», «Nash Prapor», «Nashe Slovo», «Nedilia», «Rada», «Ukraiina», «Ukrainskyi Holos» and others as well as the participating in the creation of the «Izhak» magazine, editing of «Horokhivski Visti», «Kovelske Slovo» and others. More than 190 of his journalistic texts have been identified and introduced into scholarly circulation. Their bibliographic checklist has been compiled. The article analyzes the problematic-thematic spectrum and genre palette of the journalistic heritage of F. Dudkо. It is highlighted that he mainly used such an artistic and journalistic genre as a feuilleton. He raised the problems of the absence of Ukraine in the information space of Europe. Additionally, F. Dudko stressed the importance of such Ukrainian mass media that would promote the idea of Ukrainian statehood, as well as honestly inform abroad about the developments in Ukraine. He highlighted the dominance of the Russian and Ukrainianlanguage anti-Ukrainian press. The journalist also drew attention to the issues of quality of written language, the culture of proper quoting texts of other authors (academic integrity) and so on. We conclude that F. Dudko left an invaluable journalistic and publicistic legacy, which yet requires its rigorous bibliography, systematization and rethinking. According to some, the modern mass media have a malign effect on modern democracy, tending to induce political apathy, alienation, cynicism and a loss of social capital – in a word, ‘mediamalaise’. Some theorists argue that this is the result of media content, others that it is the consequence of the form of the media, especially television. According to others, the mass media, in conjunction with rising educational levels, help to inform and mobilize people politically, making them more knowledgeable and understanding. This study investigates the mobilization and mediamalaise hypotheses, and finds little to support the latter. Reading a broadsheet newspaper regularly is strongly associated with mobilization, while watching a lot of television has a weaker association of the same kind. Tabloid newspapers and general television are not strongly associated with measures of mediamalaise. It seems to be the content of the media, rather than its form which is important.

It’s a big deal when the library world gets in the national news. I mean, it doesn’t happen every day. And usually, when it does, the news is not positive. This summer, the children’s library world burst into the national news—and into swift social media discussion—with the ALSC board’s unanimous decision to change the name of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award to the Children’s Literature Legacy Award.

Former Interpress regional editor Kunda Dixit's provacatively titled book Dateline Earth: Journalism As If The Planet Mattered, provides regional journalists with a timely global view that makes a mockery of dry old company balance sheets. 'Development should lead to human progress but it doesn't always' says Dixit. 'Journalists are a crucial link to the feedback loop ensuring that improvements in the quality of life can be sustained and do not permanently damage nature.'
