The thesis is focused on the development of the export and import of foreign trade of the Czech Republic in the years 2000 - 2014. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part of the analysis. The practical part examines the total foreign trade through the statistical analysis. The development of the foreign trade is positively influenced by the accession to the European Union and negatively influenced by the global crisis, which contributed to the decline of our economy. The changes of the timeline are compared through basic and chain indexes. The work is focused on the territorial structure in terms of continents and grouping of countries, which is defined by the Czech Statistical Office. Then the commodity structure includes the most important items, which are traded by our country. The work deals also with the foreign-trade relations with the most important partners of Czech Republic, which are the European Union, Germany, Slovakia, Poland and nowadays even China. By these partners it examines mainly their participation in the total trade of the Czech Republic, changes of individual years
and commodity structure. Consequently to calculate the right trend function, and then the forecasts of imports and exports for the next two years. However, the foreign trade of the Czech Republic is influenced by many factors, especially the exchange rate, oil prices and others commodities, as well as the development of the European Union. So at the conclusion of the work are given perspectives and recommendations for future positive development of foreign trade together with an overall assessment of the work.

Brazílie je regionální velmocí Jižní Ameriky a brazilské společnosti začínají být úspěšnými i vně federální hranice. Smlouvy z Tordesillas (1492) a z Madridu (1750) oddělily toto území od zbytku kontinentu a položily tak základy k jeho diferenciaci, a to ve všech ohledech: v jazyce, kultuře, historii, současné pozici ve světové ekonomice i v předpovědích o budoucím vývoji. Spolu s Indií, Čínou a Ruskem je zařazena do skupiny nejrychleji rostoucích ekonomik světa (BRIC´s). Faktem ovšem také je, že Brazílie není poprvé označena za perspektivní ekonomiku s růžovou budoucností.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the issue of the balance of payments of the Czech republic. First, the theoretical part of thesis focuses on the explanation of the concept of the balance of payments, its main parts and the definition of the individual accounts of the balance of payments. In the thesis are also explained the principles of compiling the balance of payments according to the International Monetary Fund.
The analytical part of the thesis deals with the development of the balance of payments of the Czech republic in years 2006-2015. Monitors the development of individual accounts and indicators of external economic balance. The work also delas with the principles of the Visegrad group and the comparison of individual country based on economic indicators.

The diploma thesis describes innovation environment of United States of America and the influence of US innovation policy on its foreign trade. The analysis and comparison of qualitative and quantitative data were mainly used from secondary sources of American Census Bureau and innovation programs of individual Departments and federal agencies for purposes of this diploma thesis. United States of America is still seen as one of the most competitive and powerful world nations. Long term negative balance of trade in goods and increasing import of technology products in the first place are weakening the USA position as world innovation leader. Research and development activities are becoming more globalised in the last decade and USA have to deal with strong influence from emerging economies, mainly from Asian region. Current innovation policy agenda attempts to support broad development of innovation and technology, not only particular fields of interest. Obama's administration intensively focuses on key areas for maintaining the country's competitiveness considering current financial crisis and increasing role of other world economies. These key areas are however not in line with commodities, which mainly represents negative figures of country's balance of trade. In this respect, the innovation policy of United States rather falls behind.

Study analyses the influence of the real exchange rate on the real trade balance between the Czech Republic and Germany, using quarterly data for the period 2000 -- 2014. Previous empirical studies are summarized and their method is used for this analysis. Data are multiplied by consumer price index to achieve real variables and then transformed into natural logarithms. Used variables are trade balance, export, gross domestic products of the Czech Republic and Germany and dummy variables representing economic crisis during the years 2008 -- 2010 and monetary intervention of the Czech National Bank in autumn 2013. All variables were tested for stationarity and were found to be non-stationary, fortunately cointegration among variables was proved. Results failed to prove existence of J-curve concept. Results indicate, that in the short run after depreciation the real trade balance increases, but after that decreases. Economic crisis during the years 2008 -- 2010 led to decrease of the real trade balance. Intervention of the Czech National Bank did not lead in the short run to a decrease of the real trade balance. Granger causality test between the real export, the real trade balance and the real exchange rate did not prove any causal relationships.

The thesis deals with the development of external economical balance indicators of the Visegrad Group countries according to specifically selected indicators. In the theoretical part of the thesis the emphasis is put on the balance of payments and the changes connected to the difference in comparison between the new methodology and the previous methodology. The critical values of the selected indicators are also defined here. In the practical part are selected and evaluated the internal indicator and the degree of economical openness within the limits of external and internal economical connectedness. The main part focuses on the development of the balance of payments and analysis of a current account and a financial account. The current account part of the thesis focuses on the performance evaluation of the account and on the initial pension account. The financial account part of the thesis focuses on the direct foreign investments. There is also an assessment of the level of Central bank intervention to balance the balance of payments. The next part of the thesis deals with the level and the rate of growth of the gross external debt and the development of exchange rates. In the resume of the thesis is a comparison between the Visegrad Group countries based on previously mentioned characteristics.

Jsou vyjmenovány i španělské společnosti, jež v tuzemsku obdržely investiční pobídky. Dále práce nabízí přehled nejdůležitějších španělských investorů, kteří se prosadili na území České republiky. Závěrem jsou zmíněny kulturní odlišnosti španělských partnerů důležité pro obchodní jednání.

The thesis deals with the development of the external economic balance and the influencing factors. It describes the development of individual accounts of the balance of payments from 1993 to 2010 and it mainly focuses on last years and on the time of financial and economic crisis. Consequently in accordance to the basic theoretical concepts, it defines factors which can influence the individual parts of the balance of payments, and it analyzes the mutual relations. On the basis of analysis of the trade balance, current account, basic balance and total balance it was confirmed that the Czech Republic does not have a high risk of external imbalance. But during the financial and economic crisis the external balance worsened, the export of goods and import of direct investment decreased, the balance of income worsened. It was also approved that the external and internal income significantly influence the external balance of the Czech Republic.

The master thesis emphasizes the economic relations between China and the United States. It gives an overview and theoretical background support on the significance of contemporary the economic relations between countries in today`s globalized era. Secondly, it analyzes how the theoretical background of economic and trade relations affect the empirical case study of the economic relations between China and the USA. The goal is to show how the economic and trade relations between China and the United States influence each other`s economies and what is the effect of such relations on the economic performance of both countries. More precisely, in order to answer the question above, the master thesis deals with complex analysis in regard of historical perspective concerning the economic relations between these countries, their ongoing cooperation in terms of balance of payments, the current and potential issues what both countries face and the existing challenges for the future. In order to complete the analysis and answer the research question, list of various sources will be used, starting from academic journals, books, literature reviews, reports from the World Trade Organization (hereafter WTO), reports from the respective countries on their economic progress, data available from the ministries of trade of respective countries and other sources related to the analysis of the contemporary economic and trade relations between the countries participating in the global economy.

The aim of the thesis is to describe the economy of Austria from the perspective of basic macroeconomic indicators and their development from the early 1990s to the present. These indicators are compared with the selected countries, especially with Germany, the United States of America and the Czech Republic. As Austria is a small open economy, international trade and external economic balance are important topics to be mentioned. Austria is compared to the Czech Republic. Both countries are not only geographically close to each other, they also have a common history and cultural traditions. Therefore, a comparison of their pension systems, healthcare and ethnic compositions is included in this thesis.

The objective of thesis is to identify and subsequently analyze the issue of dynamics of agricultural foreign trade between the European Union and Russia. All of the used data come from the last two decades monitoring, showing the tendencies of development in the agrarian sector between the EU and Russia from the year of 1995 to 2015. The theoretical part of the thesis, presented in the form of a literature overview, describes the basic principles necessary for further analytical data processing, include theoretical models of international trade and its development, and characterizes the effect of globalization and regionalization processes and their impacts on the functioning of the agrarian trade. The first phase of the actual work is dedicated to the importance of the agri-food sector for both parties, the territorial and commodity structure of mutual trade, and the definition of the development and position of the European Union and Russia as trading partners. Furthermore, the flagship product groups are identified and subsequently examined with respect to the selected characteristics. Retrospective evaluation shows the role of the ongoing liberalization processes on the market and the importance of the European Union as a trading partner for the investigated state. The possibilities of the Czech foreign trade in the context of cooperation with Russia are analyzed in the concluding part.

The states become specialised in production of certain type of the product, services etc. Subsequently they turn to be even more dependent. One does not need to go further back then real-estate crisis in USA that spilled over worldwide. The world is turn out to be "smaller place". America and Europe are exploiting raw material less and less and become dependant on the import of those from around the world. Former exploitation and production became ballast to the environment [environment burdens]. One day factories and mines were closed or reorganised to different production activity and doing so reduced burden to the environment. The consumption of the product remained or was increased even more. In other words, some one else is producing that product. This thesis aims to present and analyse economic relations between Czechoslovakia and Argentina in the years 1945-1989 (i.e. a period that almost precisely coincides with the duration of the Cold War. The work focuses on a historical analysis of primary sources and archival documents of the Czechoslovak Federal Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. This material was selected in light of the rarity of secondary literature devoted to this area. To a certain extent, this is a pioneering work, especially given the fact that the archives of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Trade have not yet been declassified and still enjoy only limited usage (processing) in a single publication. One primary function of foreign trade with the Latin American countries (with the obvious exception of Cuba) was to foster good relations between South America and Czechoslovakia during the Cold War. The study of this use of trade as a foreign policy instrument can provide useful lessons about pragmatic considerations to be borne in mind when designing foreign policy as a whole. The thesis presents new findings on the topic and attempts what may constitute the most comprehensive attempt to address economic relations between the aforementioned countries within a defined period.

The analytical section within each chapter analyzes the basic indicators of the economic cooperation between the EU and Russia and describes the effects of economic sanctions on these economies. In the context of the proposal section are designed possible solutions and measures in the field of stabilisation of the economic relations.

The access to the monetary union has many advantages for the country. A foreign trade is the most reflected indicator of the euro impact on the economy of a certain country. At the same time the main aim is to confirm or refute the fact, that the introduction of the euro is capable of influencing the development of export efficiency of individual euro area economies. Main aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze trade relations between EU and Brazil. In the first part of the thesis there is review of literature of the applied trade policies, the importance of the parties in the world trade and development of the mutual trade relations. Subsequently the development of the free trade agreement talks between EU and Mercosur in which Brazil plays crucial role is described. Also problematic topics of the negotiations are analysed. Second part of the thesis consists of the analysis of the dynamics and structure of mutual trade between EU and Brazil as well as between EU and Mercosur. At the end there is analysed mutual relation of EU and Brazil at the multilateral level, specifically at the WTO. Obtained information are discussed and possible recommendations are suggested in the conclusion.

This master's thesis investigates the impact of exchange rate volatility on trade balance of the Czech Republic during 2005-2016. The analysis is performed on the constructed panel dataset for 53 trading partners of the Czech Republic by estimating the trade gravity models. The realized volatility values are obtained for 43 Czech koruna pairs against the local currencies. The variables included into the empirical analysis are the GDP and population of the Czech Republic and its trading partners, realized volatility, weighted distance, contiguity, direct access to the sea and information on EU and OECD membership. The methodological approaches in the analysis are calculations of realized exchange rate volatility and for gravity models panel data estimation techniques: pooled OLS, fixed effects and random effects. The gravity models are compared by the formal tests, and the most efficient among them is the fixed effects. The results of the estimated augmented model reveal significant positive impact of exchange rate volatility on trade balance of the Czech Republic. The key variables that have the expected significant positive impact on trade balance are GDP of the Czech Republic and its trading partners in the basic model, population of the Czech Republic and EU membership in the augmented model....
