Na de dood van Joris Van Severen in mei 1940 zocht het Verdinaso met toenemende ijver naar een modus vivendi met het bezettingsregime. Tussen mei 1940 en januari 1941 trachtte de nieuwe leiding, gedomineerd door de groep-Persijn, om onder het bezettingsregime een aanvaarbare maatschappelijke en politieke rol voor het Verdinaso te vinden. Die pogingen bleken echter tevergeefs. Uiteindelijk maakte de Militärverwaltung begin 1941 duidelijk dat er in Vlaanderen slechts één politieke beweging geduld werd en dat die niet Groot-Nederlands kon zijn. Jef Van Bilsen werd in 1932 lid van het Verdinaso. Hij was er achtereenvolgens hoofd van de Leuvense studentenafdeling (1932-1936) en hoofdman van de dinaso-afdeling Groot-Brussel (1937-1939). Eind 1939 raakte Van Bilsen in conflict met Van Severen en hij werd uit de beweging gezet.(1) Na zijn demobilisatie en repatriëring uit Zuid-Frankrijk maakte Van Bilsen zijn rentree in het Verbond. Zo komt het dat hij er op zijn zevenentwintigste een van de hoofdrolspelers was in de vaak bediscussieerde 'eindstrijd' van het Verdinaso.(1) J. Between May 1940 and January 1941, the new leadership dominated by the Persijn Group tried to find an acceptable social and political role for the Verdinaso under the occupational regime. However, it turned out that those attempts were in vain. Finally, at the beginning of 1941, the Militärverwaltung made it clear that it would permit only one political movement in Flanders, and that this could not be the Greater Netherlands movement. Jef Van Bilsen became a member of the Verdinaso in 1932. He was successively head of the student section of Louvain (1932-1936) and leader of the dinaso-section of Greater Brussels (1937-1939). At the end of 1939, Van Bilsen clashed with Van Severen and he was expelled from the movement.(1) After being demobilized and repatriated from the South of France, Van Bilsen made his comeback into the Union. Na de schipbreuk van het Verdinaso, maakte Jef Van Bilsen (1913-1996) nog kortstondig deel uit van de groep Dinaso's rond Paul Persijn en diens alternatieve Verdinaso-directorium. Ondertussen ging hij ook op zoek naar andere manieren om aan betekenisvolle politiek te doen onder het bezettingsregime. Vanuit de overtuiging dat Duitsland nog lange tijd heer en meester over Europa zou blijven, raakte Van Bilsen in 1941 verwikkeld in een kluwen van nationalistische en royalistische Nieuwe Orde-initiatieven. In die middens ondernamen ook socialistisch voorman Hendrik De Man en de industrieel Tony Herbert afzonderlijke pogingen om iets zinvols te ondernemen in afwachting van het oorlogseinde.Tijdens Van Bilsens reis naar Berlijn in oktober 1940 was de idee ontstaan om een soort eenheidsbeweging rond Hendrik De Man op te zetten. Concreet moest De Man, in de hoedanigheid van een soort kanselier, een kabinet vormen met Dinaso’s. Dit op basis van een gemeenschappelijk programma waarin de Dinaso-ideologie centraal stond. Van Bilsen stond echter alleen met zijn enthousiasme want andere Dinaso's zagen een mogelijke samenwerking met De Man niet zitten. Bovendien stond ook De Man zelf bijzonder sceptisch tegenover het hele opzet. Verder dan een introductiegesprek tussen Van Bilsen en De Man is het aanvankelijk niet gekomen.Pas begin februari 1941 vond een eerste weerzien plaats tussen Van Bilsen en De Man. Deze laatste toonde zich toen bijzonder geïnteresseerd in de ontbinding van het Verdinaso en op 1 maart volgde een tweede ontmoeting in verband met de De Mans voorbereidingen voor de uitgave van Le Travail, dagblad van de Unie voor Hand- en Geestesarbeiders. De Man was op zoek naar enthousiaste medewerkers voor zijn krant en hengelde daarom naar Van Bilsens hulp. Van Bilsen negeerde dit en stelde voor om een Nederlandstalig dagblad 'met standing' uit te geven, los van de Unie voor Hand- en Geestesarbeiders en qua programma vergelijkbaar met dat van het Rexistische Le Nouveau Journal. Een bezoek van Otto Abetz (Duits ambassadeur in bezet Frankrijk en oud-leerling van De Man) aan Brussel, bracht dit voornemen in een stroomversnelling. Met de steun van Abetz zou het mogelijk zijn om een Vlaams dagblad uit te geven dat 'de Belgische thesis' verdedigde. Van Bilsen ging mee in die redenering en werkte alvast een voorstel uit. Van Bilsen wilde een 'politiek, cultureel, economisch informatie- en leidingsblad' uitgeven met als taak het 'negatieve nationalisme, zoals het 'anti-Fransch, anti-Waalsch en anti-Hollandsch', te bestrijden. Het 'België van morgen' zou volgens de ontwerpnota georiënteerd zijn op de vereniging van de Nederlanden en om dit alles te realiseren moest na de bezetting een 'Orde-revolutie van bovenaf' worden doorgevoerd. Er moesten echter nog heel wat praktische zaken geregeld worden vooraleer tot een daadwerkelijke uitgave kon overgegaan worden. In het bijzonder de financiering van het project en het vinden van een geïnteresseerde drukker bleek al snel onmogelijk. Door een gebrek aan middelen is er van een dagblad dan ook niets in huis gekomen.Toch had Van Bilsen de ontwerpnota niet voor niets opgesteld. Tijdens het voorjaar van 1941 vond De Man inspiratie in een initiatief van Robert Poulet en Raymond De Becker, de respectieve hoofdredacteurs van Le Nouveau Journal en de 'gestolen' Le Soir. Zij brachten alle rechtse Waalse groeperingen samen onder de noemer 'Parti Unique des Provinces Romanes de Belgique'. Eind mei 1941 voerde De Man van zijn kant een aantal gesprekken met als doel een soortgelijke organisatie aan Vlaamse kant uit te bouwen. Daartoe werd ook Van Bilsen opnieuw ingeschakeld. Eind mei 1941 werd hem verzocht om de voornoemde ontwerpnota aan De Man over te brengen. Waarschijnlijk hoopte deze de ontwerpnota nu te kunnen gebruiken als politiek-ideologische fundering voor een eventueel blad ter ondersteuning van de nog op te richten nieuwe formatie.Tijdens een eerste samenkomst op 6 juni 1941 deed De Man zijn plannen uit de doeken aan een achttal genodigden, onder wie ook Van Bilsen. De Man wilde samen met de Parti Unique een alternatieve eenheidsbeweging vormen voor de taalgrensoverschrijdende collaboratiecoalitie tussen het VNV en Rex. Daarvoor moest eerst en vooral een Vlaams pendant van de Parti Unique opgestart worden met een aantal 'Vlaamse personaliteiten'. De politiek-ideologische agenda van de op te richten beweging werd voorgesteld in een 'Schets van een Programma voor een Vlaamsche Beweging in het kader van een Belgisch Federale Staat'. De beweging zou zich niet profileren als een nieuwe partij. Het zou louter gaan om een groepering van 'thans geïsoleerde personen, en kernvorming, als mogelijk element van een ruimere constellatie later'. Ten tweede zou de groepering nationaal-socialistisch zijn, voor een socialistische orde en een autoritaire staat. Van Bilsen struikelde echter over De Mans federalistische opvattingen voor de toekomst van het Belgisch staatsverband. Het was duidelijk dat er tussen De Man en Van Bilsen een communautair meningsverschil bestond dat voor die eerste onbelangrijk scheen, maar voor Van Bilsen van onoverkomelijk belang was. Uiteindelijk bleken Van Bilsens reserves ten aanzien van een zoveelste samenwerking met De Man overbodig. De oprichting van een Nationale Bond-Vlaanderen (NBV), zoals het project ondertussen heette, werd namelijk verboden door de Duitse militaire overheid.Voor Van Bilsen was het na deze laatste poging met De Man duidelijk dat een zinvolle aanwezigheidspolitiek onmogelijk was onder de bezetting. Hij sloot zich vervolgens aan bij de clandestiene beweging van Tony Herbert, maar eigenlijk maakte Van Bilsen de mentale overstap al vroeger. Herberts beweging vond zijn wortels in een netwerk van kleine 'morele weerstandsgroepen'. Herbert was een van de weinige figuren die nooit heeft willen twijfelen aan een geallieerde eindoverwinning en vond dat men, gezien 'een Duitse overwinning voor ons land en volk een katastrofe zou zijn, slechts in één hypothese moest werken'. Hij zag het daarom als zijn plicht om tijdens de bezetting een eensgezinde groep mensen klaar te stomen om, onmiddellijk na de bevrijding, de eenheid van het land te verzekeren om zo de economische, sociale en politieke problemen van de naoorlogse periode het hoofd te bieden. De grootste uitdaging hierbij zou volgens Herbert de integratie van Walen en Vlamingen in een nieuw België zijn.Concreet begon Herbert tijdens het najaar van 1940 voordrachten te geven 'over de nationale betekenis van de Vlaamse Beweging'. Toenadering tussen Waalse en Vlaamse elites en de vervlaamsing van de Franstalige Vlamingen stonden hierbij telkens centraal. Met dit 'werk van nationale vernieuwing' oogstte hij al snel succes, ook omdat het patriottisme hoogtij vierde in de middens die hij aandeed. Begin 1941 kon Herbert al een beroep doen op een bescheiden netwerk van geëngageerde studiegroepen, al was het toen nog te vroeg om van een georganiseerde beweging te spreken. Vanaf maart 1941 vertakte dit netwerk zich ook tot in Wallonië en op 19 juni dat jaar, exact een week voordat de oprichting van de NBV verboden werd, had Van Bilsen een beslissend gesprek met Herbert. Qua politiek-ideologische instelling sloot de ultraroyalistische en antiparlementaire actie van de Herbert-beweging goed aan bij Van Bilsens discours. Bovendien was attentisme niets voor iemand met een innerlijke gedrevenheid als die van Van Bilsen. De concrete aanpak van de clandestiene Herbert-groepen moet, na de resem Duitse weigeringen tot erkenning, een heuse verademing geweest zijn.Het staat vast dat Van Bilsen zich vanaf september 1941 volledig aan de Herbert-beweging wijdde. Van Bilsens 'schamele' advocatenpraktijk bleek de ideale dekmantel om 'herbertianen' te ontvangen, vergaderingen te houden en de werking van de beweging te stuwen. Bovendien liet zijn registratie bij de balie hem toe om afspraken te regelen in het Justitiepaleis en de vredegerechten. Herbert zorgde aldus voor een nieuw kantoor op een centrale locatie in Brussel waar Van Bilsen daarna, van september 1941 tot februari 1944, het hart van de Herbert-beweging leidde. Mede omdat zich onder de Herbertianen een groot aantal verzetslieden bevonden, verzeilde ook Van Bilsen geleidelijk in de wereld van het actieve verzet.________Jef Van Bilsen between Hendrik De Man and Tony Herbert. The political search by a former DinasoAfter the failure of the Verdinaso party, Jef Van Bilsen (1913-1996) briefly joined the Dinaso Group led by Paul Persijn with his alternative Verdinaso-directory. Meanwhile he also started searching for different ways of being involved in significant politics during the regime of the Occupation. Based on the conviction that Germany would continue as lord and master of Europe for a long time to come, Van Bilsen was caught up in a tangle of nationalistic and royalist New Order initiatives. The socialist leader Hendrik De Man and the industrialist Tony Herbert also started separate initiatives in that environment to undertake something meaningful while awaiting the end of the war. During his trip to Berlin in October 1940, Van Bilsen conceived the idea of starting a kind of unity movement centred around Hendrik De Man. This meant in fact that De Man, as a kind of chancellor was to constitute a cabinet together with the Dinaso members, based on a common programme focused on the Dinaso-ideology. However, Van Bilsen was isolated in his enthusiasm, for the other Dinaso members did not consider it feasible to cooperate with De Man. Moreover, De Man himself was very sceptical towards the whole concept. At first, Van Bilsen and De Man did not get beyond an introductory conversation. Not until the beginning of February 1941 Van Bilsen and De Man met again. At that time, De Man was very interested in the dissolution of the Verdinaso party and on 1 March, a second meeting took place in view of De Man’s preparations for the publication of Le Travail, a daily paper of the Union of Manual and Intellectual Workers. De Man was searching for enthusiastic collaborators for his paper and he therefore angled for the assistance of Van Bilsen. Van Bilsen ignored this attempt and proposed instead to publish a daily paper ‘of standing’ in the Dutch language that would be separate from the Union of Manual and Intellectual Workers and whose programme would be comparable with that of the Rexist Le Nouveau Journal. A visit by Otto Abetz (the German Ambassador in occupied France and a former student of De Man) to Brussels gave impetus to this intention. With the support of Abetz it would be possible to publish a Flemish daily paper that would defend the ‘Belgian proposition’. Van Bilsen agreed with this line of thinking, and immediately drafted a proposal. Van Bilsen wished to publish a ‘political, cultural, economic informative and leading newspaper that would have the mission to combat ‘the negative nationalism ‘like ‘the anti-French, anti-Walloon and anti-Dutch’ types of nationalism. According to the draft note, the ‘Belgium of tomorrow’ would be geared towards the reunion of the Netherlands, and in order to bring all of this about it would be necessary to carry out a ‘top-down Order-revolution’ after the occupation. However, a large number of practical matters needed to be resolved before a factual publication could be produced. It soon proved that in particular the financing of the project and finding an interested printer was impossible. Because of a lack of finances, the daily paper never saw the light of day. However, Van Bilsen had not composed the draft note in vain. During the spring of 1941, De Man was inspired by an initiative by Robert Poulet and Raymond De Becker, the respective chief editors of Le Nouveau Journal and the 'stolen' Le Soir. They united all right-wing Walloon factions under the common denominator of the 'Parti Unique des Provinces Romanes de Belgique'. At the end of May 1941, De Man had a number of conversations in his turn in order to set up a similar organisation for the Flemish side. Van Bilsen became involved again for this purpose. At the end of May 1941, he was asked to hand over the previously mentioned draft note to De Man. The latter probably hoped to make use of the draft note as a politico-ideological foundation for a future publication for the as yet to be founded formation. During a first meeting on 6 June 1941, De Man revealed his plans to eight invited guests including Van Bilsen. De Man wanted to start an alternative unity movement together with the Parti Unique to achieve a collaboration coalition across the language boundaries between the VNV and Rex. A preliminary to this end was to start up a Flemish counterpart to the Parti Unique that would include a number of ‘Flemish personalities’. The politico-ideological agenda of this future movement was presented in an ‘Outline of a programme for a Flemish movement in the framework of a Belgian Federal State’. The movement was not to be profiled as a new party. It would only concern a grouping of ‘persons that were isolated at present, and could form a core, which might be a possible element of a larger constellation later on’. Secondly, the grouping would be national-socialist, propagating a socialist order and an authoritarian state. However, Van Bilsen considered the federalist concepts of De Man an obstacle for the future of the Belgian Union of state. It was clear that De Man and Van Bilsen had different opinions about the communities. The former considered this of little importance, but for Van Bilsen it was an insurmountable problem. In the end, Van Bilsen’s reservations about yet another attempt of cooperation with De Man proved to be superfluous, as the German military authorities forbade the foundation of a National Union-Flanders (NBV) as the project was called by then. After this last attempt with De Man, Van Bilsen concluded that a meaningful politics of presence was impossible during the occupation. Consequently, he joined the clandestine movement of Tony Herbert, though he really had already switched his allegiance earlier on. Herbert’s movement was based on a network of small ‘moral resistance groups’. Herbert was one of the few people who never wanted to doubt the eventual victory of the Allies and he considered that in view of the fact that ‘a German victory would constitute a catastrophe for our country and our people, you could really only act based on one hypothesis’. Therefore, he considered it his duty to prepare a group of like-minded people during the occupation in order to be able to ensure the unity of the country and thereby confront the economic, social and political problems of the post-war period immediately after the liberation. Herbert considered that the main challenge would then be the integration of the Walloons and the Flemings into a new Belgium. During the autumn of 1940, Herbert started in fact to give lectures about the ‘national significance of the Flemish Movement’. He always focalised on the rapprochement between Walloon and Flemish elites and the process of converting French speaking Flemings into Flemish speakers. He quickly became successful with this ‘work of national renewal’, in part because patriotism reigned supreme among the circles he visited. At the beginning of 194l, Herbert could already call on a modest network of committed study groups, even if it was too early to call it an organised movement. From March 1941, this network also started spreading into Wallonia and on 19 June of that year, exactly one week before the foundation of the NBV was forbidden, Van Bilsen had a decisive discussion with Herbert. The politico-ideological views of the ultra-royalist and anti-parliamentarian action of the Herbert Movement fitted in well with the discourse of Van Bilsen. The concrete approach of the clandestine Herbert-groups must have provided great relief, after the series of German refusals for recognition. It has been established that Van Bilsen dedicated himself completely to the Herbert Movement from September 1941. Van Bilsen’s 'humble’ lawyer’s office proved to be the ideal cover for receiving the members of the Herbert Movement, to organise meetings and to promote the operation of the Movement. Moreover, his registration at the bar allowed him to organise meetings in the Justice Palace and the justice of the peace courts. Thus, Herbert provided a new office in a central location in Brussels, from where Van Belsen led the core of the Herbert Movement from September 1941 until February 1944. In part, because the Herbert Movement counted a large number of members of the resistance, Van Bilsen gradually also ended up in the world of active resistance.

Jef van Bilsen, The Independence of the Congo and his view of Lumumba This article gives an overview of the involvement of Professor Jef Van Bilsen in Belgian politics before and during the Second World War and during the decolonisation of the Belgian Congo. It is based mainly on the statements and writings of Van Bilsen himself and on interviews with him. These personal testimonies are complemented with brief comments from others on Van Bilsen. Van Bilsen’s political career reveals a unique and interesting evolution. Before the Second World War, he became active in the Flemish emancipation struggle. As a student and young lawyer, he was a leading member of the elitist right wing movement, Verdinaso, which strove for the unification of Belgium and the Netherlands. During the war, he joined, together with a group of Verdinaso members, the royalist armed resistance against the German occupation. Immediately after the war, his commitment and his personal contacts allowed him to become a journalist in Central Africa, where he was brought face to face with the narrow-minded Belgian colonial policy and where he forged contacts with the first Congolese nationalists. In the early fifties, Van Bilsen returned to Belgium, where he became a professor in colonial and development matters and started advocating the planning of an independence process for the Belgian colonies in a political and academic environment that was very hostile to any idea of decolonisation. When the Belgian government in I960, under internal and international pressure, was obliged to grant independence, we see Van Bilsen offering his services as an adviser to the Congolese nationalists. During the independence talks and immediately after independence, the first President, Kasavubu, recruited him as a personal adviser. Van Bilsen declared in later interviews that he tried to act as a neutral adviser. During the conflict between President Kasavubu, Prime Minister Lumumba and the Katangese leader Tshombe, he strove for reconciliation between the three opponents and for a UN-sponsored political compromise He strongly condemned Belgian support for the secession of Katanga. Although Van Bilsen declared himself to be personally sympathetic to Lumumba, he was accused openly by Lumumba of defending Belgian and western interests. Finally, Van Bilsen was forced to leave the Congo but he continued to advocate an agreement between Kasavubu, Lumumba and Tshombe. In New York at the UN-sessions on the Congo-crisis, he argued forcefully for a resolute commitment to this policy on the part of the UN and that Belgium take a back seat in Congolese politics. In his later career as professor and as founder of the Belgian Overseas Co-operation Service, Van Bilsen became a determined defender of unconditional co-operation, a co-operation which was not tied to the economic and financial interests of western donors. He also continued to stress fervently the importance of the UN for the development of the Third World. The overview of Van Bilsen’s political career reveals the role that personal networks can play in contacts, even in circles whose members find themselves in opposing camps. It also shows how Van Bilsen’s confrontation with the colonial and post-colonial situation in Central Africa led him to insist on the formation of an African elite which was committed to political and social emancipation.

Das Bild als Quellenmaterial in den Geisteswissenschaften gewinnt immer mehr an Bedeutung. Wurden früher Wort und Text als wichtigste Grundlage der Forschung betrachtet und das Bild höchstens zu Illustrationszwecken miteingebunden, fängt man an, sich verstärkt mit der Problematik der Interpretation von Bildinhalten auseinander zu setzen. Erschwert wird die systematische Beschäftigung mit Bildquellen aber durch die besondere Charakteristik und Überlieferungsweise von Bildern: es handelt sich in der Regel um Unikate, die sich in verzweigten Sammlungen befinden. Eine direkte Kopie des Bildes ist anders als eine Abschrift einer Textquelle nicht ohne technische Mittel oder besonderes Können möglich. Und im Gegensatz zu der seit Jahren entwickelten Erschliessung von Textquellen gibt es für die Behandlung von Bildern in Archiven keine einheitlichen Regeln. Die Recherche nach geeignetem Bildmaterial erweist sich als schwierig. In dem vorliegenden Artikel sollen daher beide Seiten zu Wort kommen. Zum einen wird beschrieben, wie in einer Datenbank Bilder mit wenigen Worten erschlossen werden. Zum anderen werden Bilder aus dieser Datenbank als Quellenmaterial für eine pädagogisch ausgerichtete Interpretation herangezogen.

Zusammenfassung Diese Arbeit untersucht die Eignung und Übertragbarkeit von synthetisch erzeugten Trainingsdaten zur Detektion von Weizenähren mithilfe neuronaler Netze aus dem Bereich der semantischen Bildsegmentierung. Zur Erstellung dieser Daten werden detaillierte Szenen von Weizenfeldern bestehend aus wenigen manuell erstellten 3D Modellen mit hochaufgelösten Texturen und definierten Materialeigenschaften geschaffen. Dabei bilden die generierten Szenen verschiedene Reifegrade der Weizenpflanzen ab. Anschließend werden photorealistische Farbbilder der Szene synthetisiert und zusätzlich binäre Bildmasken, die die Positionen der modellierten Ähren enthalten. Die so erhaltenen Bildpaare werden anschließend als Trainingsgrundlage für zwei neuronale Netze (U-Net und DeepLabv3+) genutzt, ohne dass manuelle Annotationen notwendig sind. Zur Untersuchung, ob diese Daten eine Domänenadaption ermöglichen, werden die trainierten Netze anhand von realen Weizenfeldaufnahmen evaluiert. Der IoU-Wert von ca. 0,66 zeigt, dass eine Informationsübertragung aus den synthetischen Bildern auf reale Bilder möglich ist. Abschließend werden die Ergebnisse auf Luftbilder, die mithilfe eines UAVs aufgenommen wurden, übertragen. Es zeigt sich, dass die verminderte Auflösung dieser Bilder die Erkennungsrate deutlich vermindert.

Zusammenfassung. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Analyse von kunsttherapeutischen Bildverläufen aus Sicht der behandelten Patienten und aus Sicht von zwei Gruppen von Kunsttherapeuten (Experten). Die Einschätzungen der Experten sollten zudem mit den schriftlichen Behandlungsberichten (Arztbriefen) sowie den Kommentaren der Patienten zu den Bildern aus ihrer Kunsttherapie in Beziehung gesetzt werden. Die Grundlage für die Analyse der Patientensicht bildeten 15 Abschlussinterviews, in denen die Patienten anhand der von ihnen gemalten Bilder ihren Prozess in der Behandlung in einer Psychosomatischen Tagesklinik und in der Kunsttherapie reflektierten. Die transkribierten Interviews wurden mithilfe der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet. Die Grundlage für die Experten-Einschätzungen bildeten die Bilderserien von 5 dieser Patienten. Die Bilder dieser Patienten wurden den Experten in der Reihenfolge der Erstellung präsentiert, in einer Gruppe von 2 bzw. 3 Therapeuten besprachen sie die Bilder ausführlich und versuchten, die Störung des Patienten und den Verlauf während der Behandlung in der Tagesklinik zu beurteilen. Die Patienten berichten überwiegend neue und positive Erfahrungen im Behandlungsverlauf. Diese zeigen sich für sie vor allem in einzelnen Bildern in der Kunsttherapie und weniger im Bildverlauf als Ganzem. Die subjektiv wichtigen Bilder zeigen sowohl Probleme, aber auch Entwicklungen und geben häufig Zeugnis von definierten Therapieabschnitten. Die Experten konnten bei der Mehrzahl der analysierten Bild-Verläufe Hinweise auf die Art der Störung sowie die Entwicklung des Patienten unter der Therapie erkennen. Diese stimmten besonders bei den Verläufen mit deutlicher Verbesserung mit den Beurteilungen aus den Arztbriefen gut überein. Wesentlich schwieriger scheint es zu sein, als externer Experte die Bedeutung des einzelnen Bildes (Wendepunktbild) zu erfassen. Die gewählte Methodik scheint gut geeignet für weitere Forschungen in diesem Bereich.

In his late writings Fichte resorts to a formal notion of image that appears very modern. Probably for the first time in modern philosophy the world is being so consequently reinterpreted as a continuity of projected images, which are themselves „images of images”. Other than in the post-metaphysical philosophy the object of critique is here not the truth-relation of images, but rather their empirical interpretation. Knowledge is not understood as a copy of external objects, but, to the contrary, the external objects are held for representations. This ‚discovery‘ of the image-character of the world is for Fichte the first step towards the disavowal of images as only images. Enlightenment is hence being understood as the increasing transparency of images. The article depicts the following steps of the process of making-transparent of the world. Afterwards the role of the subject in this process is presented. The I, as the scheme of scheme of scheme, is the very image which makes it possible for the images to become conscious of their image-nature. Out of it there result certain principles of ethical action, as well for the individual, as for the state. At the same time the coercion of state proves to be justifiable only as an education towards the correct insight of citizens, so that under the aspired final conditions the action out of insight (and not on the basis of coercion) becomes possible. In this way the proper functioning state strives for its own abolishment.In seinen späten Schriften verwendet Johann Gottlieb Fichte einen formalen Begriff des Bildes, der sehr modern anmutet. Vielleicht zum ersten Mal in der modernen Philosophie wird hier die Welt so konsequent zu einem Zusammenhang der projizierten Bilder umgedeutet, die „Bilder von Bildern” sind. Anders als in der nachmetaphysischen Philosophie bildet hier jedoch nicht die Wahrheitsreferenz der Bilder den Gegenstand der Polemik, sondern ihre empirische Deutung. Wissen ist kein Abbild der äußeren Gegenstände, sondern, im Gegenteil, die äußeren Gegenstände sind ein Abgebildetes. Für Fichte ist die ‚Entdeckung‘ des Bildwesens der Welt der erste Schritt zur Desavouierung der Bilder nur als Bilder. Aufklärung bedeutet für ihn folglich die wachsende Transparenz der Bilder. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden einzelne Schritte dieses Prozesses des Transparent-Machens der Welt skizziert, dann wird die Rolle des Subjekts in diesem Prozess dargestellt. Das Ich ist Schema vom Schema des Schemas – dasjenige Bild, in dem sich die Bilder ihres Bildcharakters bewusst werden. Daraus resultieren sowohl fur den Einzelnen, wie auch für den Staat die Prinzipien des sittlichen Handelns. Dabei zeigt sich, dass der staatliche Zwang lediglich als Erziehung zur richtigen Einsicht der Burger gerechtfertigt wird, so dass im erstrebten Endzustand das Handeln aus der Einsicht (und nicht aufgrund des Zwangs) möglich wird. So strebt der richtig funktionierende Staat seine Selbstaufhebung an.

Dieser Beitrag stellt anhand eines Beispiels dar, wie die Subjektpositionen des „bewussten Konsumierenden“ in Grafiken und Bildern konstituiert und dem Betrachtenden vermittelt werden. Dazu wird das Bild Your Own Personal Slaves von Daniel Garcia mit der Drei-Schritt-Methode nach Panofsky analysiert. Der ikonologische Gehalt des Bildes wird im Hauptteil des Textes interpretiert. Die These lautet dabei, dass auch in der gegenwärtigen Akzentuierung von bewussten Konsumpraktiken die bereits bei Veblen bemerkte Funktion des Konsums, Disktinktion herzustellen, nachgewiesen werden kann. Nicht nur entspricht die Fokussierung einer nachhaltigen, bewussten Konsumweise stärker der Konsumpraxis mittlerer und oberer Schichten und ihren finanziellen Möglichkeiten; die Positionierung dieser Praxis als moralisch höher stehend und objektiv vernünftig liefert Gründe, ein abweichendes Verhalten als rückständig zu klassifizieren und abzuwerten. Anhand dieses Beispiels sollen im letzten Teil des Artikels zwei Thesen diskutiert werden, die argumentieren, dass Bilder gegenüber Texten über eine bestimmte Einzigartigkeit bei der Konstruktion von Subjektivität verfügen.

Avec la venue de l'ABAKO en 1950, une certaine prise de conscience allait naître sur le plan politique en 1956. Elle fut marquée par la naissance d'une opinion politique congolaise/zaïroise, notamment par les manifestes de Conscience Africaine et par l'ABAKO en réponse au Plan de trente ans du professeur VAN BILSEN. Les premiers partis politiques avaient vu le jour durant la période 1958 - 1960. L'origine de ces partis politiques était essentiellement africaine en l'absence d'influence notable des partis politiques métropolitains. Les partis politiques nés pendant les cinq années de l'indépendance ( 1960 -1965 ) avaient davantage été créés en réponse à des événements que pour défendre une idéologie. A cet effet, les partis politiques s'étaient constitués en vue des élections législatives prévues en 1965. Par la suite, les instabilités politiques répétées se concrétisant par la succession de différents gouvernements de 1960 –1965. Par ailleurs, le pays a assisté au blocage aussi bien des activités des partis politiques que celles des institutions nationales. Les partis et les activités politiques étaient interdits sous le régime du Président MOBUTU. En revanche, le Président MOBUTU a créé le 20 mai 1967, une organisation politique qui est le M. P. R. ( Mouvement Populaire de la Révolution ) dont l'objectif était de rassembler tous les Congolais sans exception. Le M. P. R. Qui est un parti unique, a été transformé en Parti-Etat en 1970. Ce parti s'est renforcé sous la Seconde République. Sous la pression populaire, le Président MOBUTU a fini par accepté, dès le 24 Avril 1990, la création des autres partis politiques dans le cadre de la libéralisation de la vie politique
With the apparition of the ABAKO as a political association in 1950, a certain awakening towards political concern has ermerged in 1956 on political ground. The political opinion in favor of this event was stressed by the manifestos of the “ African Consciousness ” and the ABAKO. These manifestos were designed to respond to the “ Plan for thirty years ” of the Professor Van Bilsen. The first political parties came into being between 1958-1960. The origin of these parties is mainly congolese because of the absence of influence from belgian political parties. The political parties created during the period 1960-1965 that is the first five years after the independence, were intended to fight for ideology. To this end, those parties were running for the general elections of 1965. From 1960, different governments have short lived because of political instability causing accordingly the dysfunction of political life and most importantly jeopardizing the function of the institutions. Under President MOBUTU regime, political parties were forbidden. . Moreover, President MOBUTU has created the MPR ( Revolutionary Popular Movement ) on May 20, 1967. The MPR was aimed to rally all Congolese citizens without exception. It was transformed into State Party in 1970. The MPR has become powerful during the Second Republic. But under the pressure of the population, President MOBUTU has accepted in the end on April 24, 1990, the existence of other political parties within the framework political liberalization

This study aims at understanding the history and relation between the moving image and two modernistic art movements, minimalism and abstract expressionism.

Sedan teknikens framfart på 2000-talet har sociala medier blivit en vardag för många. Instagram, som är en social plattform där användaren kan lägga ut bilder och hämta inspiration från andra användare, har utvecklats mer och mer och tack vare detta har en ny yrkesgrupp skapats, influencers. Influencers har en betydande roll på sociala medier genom att aktivt påverka konsumentattityder genom sina kanaler. Nya ord genom sociala nätverk har uppkommit såsom ordet “instagramvänligt” vilket används flitigt på influencernas Instagram, men vad är egentligen betydelsen av detta ord? Denna uppsats har gjort en visuell innehållsanalys på svenska matinfluencers bilder för att kunna ge en förklaring till vad det är som kännetecknar instagramvänliga matbilder samt om det finns en skillnad mellan kvinnor och män i hur bilder fotograferas. Inhämtning av data gjordes på appen Oumi och Instagram, där tio manliga och tio kvinnliga matinfluencers valdes ut. Analysen gjordes på variablerna vinkel, ljussättning, bakgrund, färg, upplägg, rörelse, medverkan, och redigering. Resultatet visade på att det fanns en skillnad på “instagramvänlig mat” mellan manliga och kvinnliga matinfluencers vilket resulterade i att det gjorde det svårare att definiera ordet “instagramvänligt” generellt.

Computerized methods for searching pictures are becoming more common. With these it ispossible to make powerful search requests using a combination of terms and search oncomprehensive descriptions of the pictures. The descriptions can encompass various aspectsof the content and allow different interpretations and levels of detail.This essay is about how you can examine and describe the content of a picture from manypoints of view. We have tried to identify differences in searching behaviour, and studiedsome methods for indexing of pictures. Our concepts are taken from the philosophy of artand from theories about the meaning of languages.In the future perhaps libraries can make pictures and illustrations in books available to thepublic, in a sophisticated system, for the purpose of providing visual documentation forstudy, research or other kinds of exploitation.

Denna uppsats bygger på en kvalitativ studie där teorier kring bilen, cykeln, kollektivtrafiken och stadens utglesning står för det teoretiska materialet medan rapporter och semistrukturerade intervjuer utgör den empiriska delen. Syftet med denna studie är att se hur vi idag påverkas av 50- och 60-talets planering. 1950-talets infrastrukturella förändringar gav stora möjligheter för en bra implementering av bilen som städernas invånare idag ser som en livsstil. Vad krävs för att städernas invånare ska välja fossilfriare transportmedel som cykel och kollektivtrafik? Genom att undersöka hur Västerås arbetar för att lyfta dessa transportmedel kan problem och möjligheter finnas som finns på grund av bilsamhället. Studiens resultat visar att den massiva infrastruktur som bilen tog med sig in i samhället idag inte räcker till för alla transportmedel där cykel och kollektivtrafik prioriteras samtidigt som bilen ska ta lika stor plats. 1950-talets framtidsplaner och uträkningar visar idag att vi planerade för stort och bilismen är svår att bromsa då den blivit en livsstil i dagens samhälle. Kommunens arbete ger positiva resultat för de fossilfria transporterna och det är bilen som livsstil och kultur som är det svåra att överkomma.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att bidra med kunskap om bilders betydelse, användning och funktion i läromedel om läsförståelse. Detta görs genom en kvalitativ studie i två delar, dels i en läromedelsanalys av tre läromedel, dels i en gruppintervju med elever i årskurs 5. I uppsatsen behandlas tre frågeställningar som handlar om vilka förhållanden som råder mellan text och bild och hur elever resonerar kring detta. Vi har också valt att fokusera på hur eleverna uppger att de använder bilderna i sitt arbete med läsförståelse. Studien har tagit stöd i forskning om läsförståelse, samspel mellan text och bild och läromedelsanalyser. Resultatet av läromedelanalysen visar att bilderna som har analyserats i denna studie relaterar till texten på olika sätt. Gruppintervjun visar att eleverna påverkas av bilderna och de uppger att de använder bilderna både för att få förförståelse innan de läser och även under tiden de läser för att förtydliga texten. Vidare framkommer att eleverna har förmåga att genomföra läromedelsanalyser och därmed vara delaktiga när läromedel ska väljas.

Företag låter publicera ofta helt frivillig information kring sitt hållbarhetsarbete till sina intressenter och det samhälle de verkar inom. Denna information innehåller ofta en stor mängd visuellt material och detta material kan innehålla en hel del information som företaget vill förmedla. Därmed är det av stor vikt att förstå hur och varför detta visuella material används. Då byggbranschen skapar stora belastningar på både miljön och människa har vi valt att studera svenska byggföretags hållbarhetsredovisning.   Syftet med denna uppsats är att identifiera och granska de bilder byggföretagen använder i sin hållbarhetsrapportering som ett kommunikationsverktyg genom deras webbplatser och årsrapport. Därmed bidra till tidigare forskning med ytterligare insikt i hur företag förmedlar budskap i syfte att vinna legitimitet.   Vi har valt att analysera det visuella materialets lingvistiska, denotativa och konnotativa delar för att försöka tolka bilden som helhet och därmed förstå dess budskap. Genom detta har vi funnit att dessa byggföretag gärna använder ett positivt perspektiv på de motiv som ofta associeras med hållbarhet. Vår slutsats blev därmed att dessa byggföretag använder det visuella materialet framförallt genom fyra identifierbara strategier. Dessa är att påverka samhällets uppfattningar om företaget, att på ett självberömmande vis betona det samhälleliga ansvar det tagit, att omdirigera uppmärksamheten från ett problem till andra ämnen eller att informera om ändringar företaget gjort. Även om vi inte kan bevisa det så är det troligt att strategierna används som ett sätt att proaktivt möta de förväntningar företagets olika intressentgrupper har på miljöinitiativ.   Företagen ligger bakom en stor del av den miljöförstöring vi har idag och som samhälle samt intressent finns det en förväntan på dessa företag att ta sitt ansvar. Därmed ger vår studie en aspekt i hur intressenter och det samhälle företaget verkar inom kan tolka den frivilliga informationen detta företag ger ut, i syftet att avgöra om de ska stödja eller motarbeta företagets mål.
Organizations often publish completely voluntary information about their sustainability work to stakeholders and to society. This information often contains a large amount of visual material and may contain a lot of information that the company wants to convey. Therefore, it is of great importance to understand how and why the visual material is used. Since the construction industry creates a lot of tension on both the environment and humans, we have chosen to study sustainability reporting from Swedish construction companies.   The purpose of this paper is to identify and review the images that construction companies use in their sustainability reporting as a communication tool through their websites and annual report. This contributes to previous research with further insight into how companies convey messages in order to gain legitimacy.     We have chosen to analyze the linguistic, denotative and connotative parts of the visual material to try to interpret the picture and thereby understand the underlying message. Through this, we have found that the construction companies in this paper like to use a positive perspective on the themes that are often associated with sustainability. Our conclusion was that these construction companies use the visual material mainly through four strategies. These are to influence society's perceptions of the company, to emphasize in a self-praising manner the social responsibility it has taken, to redirect attention from one problem to other subjects or to inform about changes the company has made. Even though we cannot prove it, it seems very likely that the strategies are used to proactively meet the expectations of various stakeholder groups on environmental initiatives.     The companies are behind a large part of the environmental degradation we have today, and society and stakeholder have an expectation for these companies to take responsibility for this. Thus, our study provides an aspect in how stakeholders and society can interpret the voluntary information this company issues, in order to determine whether they should support or counteract the company's goals.

Studien syftar till att undersöka på vilka sätt verksamma lärare i samhällsorienterande ämnen använder sig av bilder i Powerpoint-presentationer: hur bilderna framhävs och om de används tillsammans med eller i förhållande till skrift och tal. Vidare granskas skillnader och likheter som uppmärksammats bland deltagande lärarna. Intervjuerna ägde rum i Kronobergs län på två olika högstadieskolor. Lärarna observerades under ett undervisningstillfälle var där de använde sig av Powerpoint- presentationer. Efter avslutad lektion intervjuades respektive lärare om synen på att ha Powerpoint-presentationer som en del av undervisningen. Det framgick att båda lärarna anser att bilder bidrar och gör att alla elever kan gynnas i lärandet. Framförallt är bilder gynnsamt för elever med annat modersmål än svenska eller för de elever med andra svårigheter i undervisningen. Trots deras gemensamma syn på användandet av bilder i Powerpoint-presentationer så gick det att urskilja vissa skillnader; hur bilderna användes, antalet bilder och vilka typer av bilder som förekom.

Politische Diskurse vollziehen sich zunehmend visuell. Auch haben Phänomene wie politisch motivierte Hacks, »Filter-Blasen« oder twitternde Politiker*innen längst Einzug in öffentliche Debatten gehalten. Die Rolle und Veränderung »politischer« Bilder in den sozialen Medien wirft zahlreiche Fragen auf, etwa: Wie äußern sich die Wahrnehmungsweisen und die Bildpraktiken von User*innen? Wie werden rechtspopulistische Ideologien über Bilder verbreitet? Die Beiträger*innen des transdisziplinären Bandes widmen sich diesen Fragen und beleuchten das wechselseitige Verhältnis von Bildern, sozialen Medien und dem Politischen aus verschiedenen Perspektiven und unter Rückgriff auf empirisches Material.

The roll motion of a ship or a FPSO can be effectively mitigated by attaching keels along the bilges. Proper structural design of the bilge keels requires good estimates of the hydrodynamic loads acting on them. However, in simplified applications, Morison’s equation may be adopted with constant hydrodynamic coefficients for the force evaluation. Reported bilge keel failures suggest that the understanding of the total loading on the bilge keel is incomplete. In this paper, direct CFD simulations are carried out for bilge keels with added structural members in regular oscillating, prismatic flows. The hydrodynamic loads from CFD are shown to be significantly larger than those used in conventional design approaches. Sensitivity studies are also conducted here to investigate the dependence of the hydrodynamic loads on different factors including bilge keel configurations and FPSO roll velocities.

A numerical method developed from earlier work [1, 2] of predicting damping due to eddy shedding from sharp or rounded bilges of a hull of arbitrary cross-section in beam waves is presented. The method matches an inner solution which simulates the local bilge section separated flow numerically to an outer wave potential flow solution. The latter can be any standard 3-dimensional panel or other method for the whole body which provides the local values of the matching velocity parameter at all bilge sections which shed eddies. Scaling by the matching parameter provides a physically based sectional damping coefficient for a response computation. In the case of free response of a floating body feed-back from the viscous damping to the bilge velocity parameter through the response mode amplitudes necessitates iteration which generally converges very quickly. Computational predictions carried out in the frequency domain using this prediction method assuming linear wave theory for the outer flow are presented and compared with laboratory wave tank measurements for roll response of two floating hulls in regular and random waves. Application of the method to viscous damping of more complex geometries is also possible.

This paper investigates the hydrodynamical aspects of a fixed FPSO in regular waves. The emphasis is geared to the validation of state of the art CFD techniques, using particle image velocimetry measurements on the water velocities around a captive model of an FPSO in regular waves. The main focus is on the following issues: Determination of the water velocities around the vessel using PIV techniques and pressures on a girth below and just above the mean waterline of the vessel using pressure gauges. Comparison of the detailed RANS simulations of the flow around the bilges of the FPSO. The resulting pressure profiles along the girth, especially near the waterline, showed a significant non-linear effect in steep beam wave conditions. The velocities as measured near the bilges of the vessel indicated a strong separation at the bilges of the vessel. This leads to an overestimation of the water velocities near the bilges of the vessel as calculated using a linear diffraction programme. The resulting pressure profiles along the girth, especially near the waterline, showed a significant non-linear effect in steep beam wave conditions. The velocities as measured near the bilges of the vessel indicated a strong separation at the bilges of the vessel. This leads to an overestimation of the water velocities near the bilges of the vessel as calculated using a linear diffraction programme. RANS simulations will give a more realistic flow profile around the bilges.

In the paper, surface wrinkle defect occurring during hot bar rolling process is studied with the combination of FEM simulation method and experimental method. The effect of entry width and the fillet radii of billet on displacement velocity and profile on billet corner is simulating analyzed. The calculated results have the same regularity as the experiment with continuous casting billet. It is found that the shallow crack or deeply fissures on the surface of workpiece are observed with the increase of the entry width and decrease of fillet radii of billet. All of crack regions are ditches with different sizes on the surface in optical microscope. At the same time, the flowing velocity of metal on billet corner is quite different from FEM simulation, some have so negative movement that resulting in ditches in the profile. Simulated results had the same tendency of formation of crack as the experimental results. Either result reveals that the main reason inducing surface wrinkle defect to occur during hot bar rolling process is the opposite flowing velocity of metal on billet corner.

Faiz, en bilinen tabiri ile kiralanan paranın kira bedeli anlamındadır. İslam iktisadı, Bakara Suresi’nin 275 ayeti kerimesinde de bildirildiği üzere ticaretin helal, faizin (ribâ) haram kılınması düsturu ile hareket etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yukarıda bahsedilen faizin haramlığı düsturu da temel alınarak, günümüz kapitalist sisteminde kilit rol oynayan faizin, bireylerin bakış açılarında nasıl bir yer edindiğini araştırmak için yapılmıştır. İslam iktisadının ilkelerini yerine getirmeye çalışılarak oluşturulan kurumların, toplum tarafından nasıl değerlendirildiği de öğrenilmiş olunacaktır. Çalışma boyunca nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Nitel araştırmada veri toplamak için mülakat yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Mülakata katılan kişi sayısı 23 kişi olarak belirlenmiştir. Temel bulgulara göre, mülakatlara katılan bireylerin çoğu çevreden borç istemeden bankalara gitmektedir. Toplumsal ilişkilerin, maddi konularda yeterince kapsayıcı olmadığı göze çarpmaktadır. Bununla birlikte bireyler kendi yuvalarını kurmak için yuvadan ayrıldıkları zaman kendi ailelerine karşı “el(yabancı)” statüsüne geçmektedirler. Araştırmamız için görüştüğümüz bireylerden, ihtiyacı olan maddi miktarı bulmanın yollarından biri olan alternatif kurumları bilen birey sayısının az olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tekrar faizli kredi çekmeyi düşünen bireylerin bu kararlarındaki en önemli etken “hayallerini ertelememek üzerine kurulu bir dünya görüşüne” sahip olmalarıdır.
