Abstract:

Two new species of the genus Thelcticopis Karsch, 1884, T. dahanensis Zhu & Zhong, sp. nov. (♂) and T. unciformis Zhu & Zhong, sp. nov. (♂), are described and figured from Taiwan Island. Thelcticopis severa (L. Koch, 1875) is recorded from Guangdong and Fujian provinces for the first time. So far, Thelcticopis, including four species from China, is mainly distributed in the tropical or subtropical areas of China (Hainan, Taiwan, Yunnan, Guangdong, Fujian).

Sparassidae Bertkau, 1872 is the tenth largest family of Araneae, with 11 genera and 288 species known in China.In the current paper, four newly-recorded species from China are provided: <i>Heteropoda acris</i> Korai & Jäger, 2024, <i>Olios sericeus</i> (Kroneberg, 1875), <i>O. suung</i> Jäger, 2012 and <i>Rhitymna plana</i> Jäger, 2003, of which <i>O. sericeus</i> is re-described, based on specimens collected from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Additionally, a new <i>Thelcticopis</i> species, <i>T. lini</i> sp. nov., is described.

Two new species of the sparassid genera <i>Heteropoda</i> Latreille, 1804 and <i>Pseudopoda</i> Jäger, 2000 are described from Vietnam: <i>Heteropoda taygiangensis</i> sp. nov. (♂) from Quang Nam Province and <i>Pseudopoda tadungensis</i> sp. nov. (♀) from Dak Nong Province. <em>Thelcticopis</em> is a type of spider that is very difficult to collect. In 2018, we collected two huntsman spiders in Guangxi. After diagnosis, they were found to belong to the genus of <em>Thelcticopis. </em>Four species of <em>Thelcticopis </em>Karsch, 1884 of the primitively segmented spider family Sparassidae are currently known from China. In this paper, we diagnosed and described a new species, <em>Thelcticopis pinmini </em>sp. nov., which was collected from Guangxi Province, China.

The Qizimeishan National Nature Reserve is situated in the southwestern region of Hubei Province, adjacent to the northeastern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The taxonomic status of Pseudopoda aureola (He & Hu, 2000) is revised based on the re-examination of the type specimen and fresh material collected from the type locality.
