The article identifies the first editions of works by Metropolitan Dimitry of Rostov, published both in his lifetime and immediately after his death and canonization. The author of the article has shown that the Metropolitan’s sermons were not published in his lifetime for a number of reasons. The first publication of Dimitry’s oratorical works was made upon an initiative of a private person – Y. A. Tatishchev (1729–1806), who approached the Most Holy Governing Synod in 1782 with a request to publish these sermons at his own expense. A publication called Collection of Various Instructive Tales

Preaching provides a nourishment that both satisfies and creates hunger. The church is a place of preaching, as well as a subject, an object, and a recipient of preaching. In the multidimensional ecclesial–homiletical relationship, proclamation affirms and enhances ecclesial identity, ponders and interprets the received word of the sacred scriptures, offers challenge and consolation, inspires missionary and cultural extension, celebrates holiness, and proclaims temporal and eschatological hope. These six characteristics offer a lens for homiletical exploration and evaluation. The sermons of Ós

The Dominican friar Giovanni Dominici (1356-1419) was an influential, charismatic, and popular preacher, and an important figure in the political world of Renaissance Florence, but neglected in modern scholarship. This study offers a thorough summary of Dominici's political views as well as a biographical portrait, a bibliographical survey, and a discussion of Dominici's preaching style. The article draws on a large, unpublished collection of Dominici's sermons from the Biblioteca Riccardiana, dating from 1400 to 1406. While not originally designed for linguistic research, the corpus offers an opportunity to observe phonological and phonetic variation and change across the adult lifespan. Its value for language and aging research lies in its temporal depth, consistency of genre, and the public prominence of its speakers, allowing for reliable biographical contextualization. Despi

Originally an underground brotherhood, the community became a kind of an “invisible” university for many individuals in Turkish politics and public life. The community contributed to the emergence of parties of political Islam. After it parted with its leadership, it almost became a party itself, but was eventually reduced to a holding group and an interest circle.
