Abstract:
The aim of this study was to determine the influence of environmental factors affecting body weight variability of lambs in two crossbreed groups: Pirot x W?rttemberg and Sjenica x W?rttemberg. Both populations were managed under the same farm conditions. The data were analyzed to determine the effect of age of the dam, weight of dam, birth type, sex, year and season, on the birth weight and weaning weight of crossbreed lambs. Statistical analysis was performed by GLM procedure using the SPSS statistical package program. The average birth weight of Pirot x W?rttemberg lambs was 3.56 kg while Sjenica x W?rttemberg lambs was slightly higher at 3.69 kg. The difference on birth weight between the two crosses was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The average weaning weight of Pirot x W?rttemberg lambs was 23.54 kg while Sjenica x W?rttemberg lambs had higher weight at 24.37 kg. The difference of 0.83 kg on weaning weight was statistically significant (P <0.05). Body weight, depending on the environmental factors, ranged from 3.17 to 3.96 kg at birth and from 22.12 to 24.18 kg at weaning in Pirot x W?rttemberg lambs. Body weight of Sjenica x W?rttemberg lambs ranged from 3.39 to 3.99 kg at birth and from 22.69 to 25.44 kg at weaning. Statistical analysis showed that the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) and highly significant (P<0.01).

"Évolution des droits de l'homme aux États-Unis : étude des notions d'esclavagisme et de traumatisme culturel et du mouvement abolitionniste à travers trois représentations cinématographiques : the Birth of a Nation, de D. W. Griffith, (1915), Amistad, de Steven Spielberg, (1997) et The Help de Tate Taylor,(2011)." Thesis, Lyon 3, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015LYO30014/document.

Abstract:
Slavery in the USA has always been an interesting thematic to us. We have always wanted to learn more about it thus understanding how such a system could have been implemented for more than 200 years, have caused the division and a fracture in a nation, have led to the Civil War and have left permanent scars ont the United States of America. This particular interest led us to look into the concept of cultural trauma, and into its representation by three American film directors (D. W. Griffith, born in Kentucky in 1915, Steven Spielberg, born in Ohio in 1946 and Tate Taylor born in Mississippi in 1969), who picture at various distinct periods three different historical eras. We have considered the link existing between the physical reality of an event and its cinematographic representation, which is spatially or temporally distanced from the event. How can film directors faithfully represent historical reality ? How do (or don’t) they avoid to insert in their work personal or sociological filters ? How don’t they transform history, or shape it by not mentionning the elements that do not concur to the message one wants to deliver ? What if the director’s views are biased? How can the viewer be conscious of it and keep it in mind as he or she watches the film? Our work initiated from a reflexion upon the cultural and socialogical importance of the notion of cultural trauma in the cinematographic representation of slavery in the United States. The three movies we have chosen to work on are : The Birth of a Nation, (D.W. Griffith, 1915), Amistad (Steven Spielberg, 1997) and The Help (Tate Taylor, 2011). These films represent three distinct periods in the life of the American society since The Birth of a Nation pictures the progress of the American Civil War inside a Confederate family, Amistad is set between the years 1839 and 1841, and The Help takes place in the sixties, in Jackson, Mississippi. In choosing films that represent various historical periods and that have been directed at different periods of time, we wanted to take into account both the notions of re-adapting and re-interpreting the traumatic event. We have wished to demonstrate, through our work, how film directors adapt a real fact or a book by deleting some elements or adding some others, by adapting historical reality to turn it into a fiction showing a representation of reality. We have also tried to show how « cultural trauma » acts upon the audiovisual work of film directors who choose to picture the cultural heritage of slavery. We have analyzed to what extent cultural trauma has an influence on filmic creation and how its characteristics can be applied to our corpus. What aspects of it are most represented ?We have decided to analyze our corpus in a chronological order. We have started with D. W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation (1915), we have then analyzed S. Spielberg’s Amistad, (1997), and ended with T. Taylor’s (2011). For each of these films, we have first studied the historic and geopolitic contexts of the historical periods represented, we’ve then dealt with the transition from historical reality to fiction and we’ve analyzed the entirety of each movie compared to to the notion of cultural trauma. How and to what extent can it be found into these artitic works ? As a mass media, cinema has an educational role and we have demonstrated its link with cultural trauma

In this thesis, the first section will talk about how to implement the software development environment for 8bit microprocessor, including Compiler, Assembler, and Debugging mechanism etc. The design of Debugging mechanism is based on in-circuit emulator. In-circuit emulator is a common debugging technique for microprocessor. The designed ICE contains hardware implement and debugging software for it in this thesis. ICE hardware is a control circuit from TAP Controller, IEEE 1149.1 std. and it control the scan cells on the data bus. The Debugging software uses JTAG port, IEEE 1149.1 std., to insert debug instruction from PC to ICE hardware. In this thesis, the second section will focus on the process of integrating ICE hardware circuit and software debugger issued by two ways, our own design version and business suit debugging software support. The examples are not only integrating our LAB’s 32bit microprocessor and ICE hardware, but also verifying software debugger to control ICE circuit by FPGA to prove above two methods are work.

NTU-Array is designed for W-band (78-113Ghz) observationthrough SZ-effects. The first-phase operation of the telescope with 6receivers had its first light in 2008 with single-polarization and half thefull bandwidth. The second-phase operation of NTU-Array in Nevada will beginthe dual-polarization, full-band observation in 2010. One-bit sampling at18Ghz and digital correlation are in use in this telescope. Due to the ultrabroadband coverage, the IF system divides the 35GHz full-band into four 8.7GHzsub-bands. The first stage of IF module containing a 35GHz broadband amplifierwith fairly flat-gain performance over 25db gain divides the first-stage IFinto two outputs. The 2nd-stage IF module further divides the two input IFsignals and down-converts them to four basebands of DC-8.7Ghz. An LO modulewith 8.7Ghz input is to generate outputs with x2, x3 and x9 harmonics for thedown-conversion. The Walsh function is injected into the x9 LO throughup-conversion with an IQ mixer. Each IF baseband is transmitted through an optical fiber to the 18Ghz, 1-bit sampling ADC located in the control room. The analog optical link contains a driver and equalizer to compensate for thepath loss.Considering the limited size of the telescope mount, the entire IF/LOsystem of each receiver has a compact size about 20cm cubed. Thisphysical size can be further reduced to fit the future 19-pixel-receiverupgrade of NTU-Array. The original design made the four bands 8.7 GHz signals go into the digital correlator for interferometry correlation. Instead of the digital correlator, a 17.4 GHz one-bit sampling spectrum analyzer is built to demonstrate the working principle for a much faster spectrometer, where noise dithering and sine transformation are two key features of the principle. While the noise dithering can suppress the harmonics of signals, the sine transformation is shown to restore the noise. Measurements of this instrument reveal that the newly proposed novel scheme works as it should, with no technical showstopper for a much faster device.

Abstract:
In this essay, Winnicott describes clinical examples illustrating fantasies and possible memories of the birth experience. In many child analyses birth play is important. The clues to the understanding of infant psychology, including birth trauma, come through psychoanalytic experience where regression is a feature. When birth material turns up in an analysis in a significant way, the patient is showing signs of being in an extremely infantile state. A child may be playing games that contain birth symbolism, and an adult reports fantasy related consciously or unconsciously to birth. This is not the same as the acting out of memory traces derived from birth experience, which provides the material for study of birth trauma.

Abstract:
In this chapter, Winnicott describes what the stage of being unborn to becoming born might be like for the infant. He suggests that if birth is healthily accomplished, the infant may be able to have the illusion that all was brought about and achieved by himself. He proposes that a caesarean section birth has losses for the baby in terms of normal delivery and that time delays that effect delivery can become sufficiently impinging, creating for that infant a sense of formlessness in time and space which cannot be managed. Winnicott addresses the changeover from not-breathing states in the womb to the newborn’s learning to breathe and also to the newborn’s connecting with the mother’s breathing and then feeling held in a quiet way after birth. He proposes that some patients in analysis have very early body experience memories related to birth trauma and that the study of very early birth-related experience in analysis helps with understanding more severe mental illness, such as the psychoses.

Abstract:
This introduction provides an overview of W. Arthur Lewis's biography. Three considerations that surfaced so forcefully in the aftermath of the World War II—decolonization, race relations, and economic growth—were preeminent issues in the life of W. Arthur Lewis. As a person of color who grew up in an impoverished and largely ignored corner of the British Empire, he devoted much of his academic career and public life to elucidating these matters and promoting a vision of a decolonized, color-blind, and prosperous community of independent nations. Lewis's contributions to the field of development economics were significant and pioneering and made him the founding figure of a wholly new branch of economics in the 1950s. His 1954 article on economic development using unlimited supplies of labor, published in Manchester School, was arguably the single most influential essay in this field.

Abstract:
In his foreword to Prunella Briance’s book Childbirth with Confidence, on natural childbirth and the work of Grantly Dick-Read, Winnicott addresses the fact that the great majority of women can have a natural labour and birth and that, although medical interventions are important in the three percent of births where something goes wrong, the healthy mother in labour does not respond well to the medical techniques which are needed in cases where there are problems at birth.

Chapter 6 looks at the religious traditon of the W. Anatolia state of Arzawa and its religon to Greek religion. The main evidence for Arzawan religious is a group of plague- and purufcation- rituals, many of them designed for military use. The authors of the rituals are said to be augurs, which shows that augury/bird-oracles were part of the procedure. In the chapter I explore parallels with Greek religion, e.g. a plague ritual in Homer, the scapegoat- (pharmakos-) rituals of Ionia and Greek bird-oracles.

Abstract:
The issue of the Relative Age Effect (RAE) has been monitored in the field of sports for more than 30 years. Its theoretical framework is based on the premise that during the pubescent period athletes born at the beginning of the year experience earlier biological acceleration re-sulting in a higher level of physiological, mental, morphological and psychological attributes than their later-born peers. A number of publications show that this temporary advantage often manifests itself in elite competitions at the junior level, but gradually disappears during the transition to professional senior competitions. The aim of this work was to determine the level of the RAE in the elite 100 ATP tennis players (ATP Rankings) in 2016–2018. To assess the influence of the RAE, the Chi-Squared (ꭕ2) test in the variant of Goodness of Fit was used for the assessment of the conformity of expected and observed frequency distribution due to the categorical character of the research data and the large sample size. The Cohen’s w val-ue calculation was used to assess the effect size (ES, since it is not a random representative selection of elements of the research set) of the ꭕ2 test values. The odds ratio (OR) was used to assess the chance of players from the Q individual quarters to get among the best 100 players. The results show that, in terms of effect size (ES), the effect of birth date in all the Top 100 players is small (w = .22) during the entire observed period 2016–2018; the influence of RAE is therefore dismissed. The ES in the individual years is again small (w = .21–.25); the influence of RAE is also dismissed. In analysing the effect of birth date, the mean rate of effect size was found in tennis players in positions 1 to 25 (w = .46) as well as in tennis play-ers in positions 51 to 75 (w = .37); the RAE influence is therefore not rejected. Only a small measure of effect size was found between positions 26 to 50 and 76 to 100 (w = .21–.25); the RAE influence is rejected. No statistically significant difference has been found between the observed and expected distribution of birth date between the observed quarters of the year (odds ratio test, p > .05) and it has not, therefore, been proven that tennis players from any of the quarters Q –Q had a better chance of getting among the Top 100 tennis players. It can be concluded that professional senior tennis had not shown the RAE influence to the extent usual in junior categories during the observed period of 2016–2018.

Abstract:
In this work, the heating process for apple, eggplant, zucchini and potato by means of evaluation of their thermal properties and the Biot number determined in experimental form is presented. The heating process is carried out using a solar cooker box-type as heating device. The thermal experimental properties determined are conductivity (k), density (D), specific heat (C), diffusivity (Dif) and the Biot number (Bi) for each product evaluated. In the experimentation, temperatures for center and surface in each product and water were measured in controlled conditions. For those measures, a device Compact Fieldpoint and thermocouples placed in the points studied were used. By using correlations with temperature as function, k, D and C were calculated, while by using equations in transitory state for the products modeled as sphere and cylinder was possible to estimate the Biot number after calculation of the heat transfer coefficient for each case. Results indicate the higher value for k, C and Dif correspond to zucchini (0.65 W/m °C, 4084.5 J/kg °C, 1.5 × 10−7 m2), while higher value for D correspond to potato (1197.5 kg/m3). The lowest values for k and C were obtained for potato (0.59 W/m °C, 3658.3 J/kg °C) while lowest values for D and Dif, correspond to zucchini (998.2 kg/m3) and potato (1.45 × 10−7 m2/s) respectively. The maximum and minimum values for Bi corresponded to potato (21.4) and zucchini (0.41) in respective way. The results obtained are very useful in applications for solar energy devices, where estimates for properties are very important to generate new results, for example, numerical simulations. Also, results could be used to evaluate the cooking power in solar cookers when the study object is oriented in that direction.
