Abstract:
[The author reviews the discussion between Kasper and Ratzinger on the ontological priority of the universal Church, and then summarizes several studies by Kasper on the papacy and episcopacy at Vatican I, on Aquinas's teaching about the bishop's ministry, and Vatican II's teachings on the institution of the bishop's office, as well as the pastoral, collegial, and sacramental character of that office. Finally, he touches on Kasper's theological convictions regarding international synods of bishops, episcopal conferences, the election of bishops, and the personal responsibility of the bishop for the leadership in his local church.]

Abstract:
According to Danish legislation theological candidates need to be examined by a bishop prior to ordination. The bishop’s examination in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Denmark is part of the episcopal oversight. The article analyses the bishops’ theological reflections and practical experiences with episcopal examinations based on interviews. According to our Aristotelian analysis of interviews the bishops operate with a distinction between different forms of knowledge that reflects the Aristotelian epistêmê, technê and phronêsis. While candidates may not pass, instances are rare; typically, guidance or resubmission is offered if the bishop hesitates to give collats. In addition to our Aristotelian analysis, we consider a management theoretical perspective on the interviews, and this perspective shows that the bishops align closely with Lotte S. Lüscher’s definition of a postmodern paradigm of management. Further, we argue that Jürgen Habermas’ focus on a potential shift in a conversation might elucidate dynamics in the conversation between bishop and candidate. The power relationship is camouflaged in the form of conversation, and Habermas’ theory helps us to understand when the power relationship manifests itself.

Abstract:
The office of bishop is the first, most important, and most responsible office in the Church. This makes it the subject of reflection of theologians and spiritual writers, among which St. Alfonso Maria de Liguori (18th century) stands out. After a short biography and an overview of the Church’s circumstances of de Liguori’s times, the article presents his instructions to bishops on how to govern their Church well. It regards the most important concerns of every bishop (the seminary, ordainees, priests, parish priests, the vicar and close associates, and religious sisters) and the most effective means of a bishop for governing his Church well (prayer, good example, residency, visitations, folk missions, synod, counselling, private audiences, and admonitions). The concluding thoughts show that the figure of the bishop and his office of governing the Church, as described by St. Alfonso, represent a valuable and noteworthy contribution for the modern renewal of bishop’s office as well as for the growth in holiness of bishops of Christ’s Church, and thus of the whole of God’s people. Here, a particular emphasis is placed on the bishop’s responsibility to make informed decisions based on truth telling, and the difference is shown between an informant and a person of truth.

Abstract:
In April, a Bill was considered to enable women to be consecrated as bishops. The most crucial amendment for consideration was that ‘the Bench of Bishops will provide pastoral care and support for those who in conscience cannot accept the ordination of women as priests and bishops through the ministry of an Assistant Bishop or Bishops’. The Archbishop resisted the amendment on the grounds that, if it were passed, the Church would be appointing a male bishop who had doubts about the validity of the orders of a woman bishop. Such a bishop and his followers would have real doubts as to whether the sacraments presided over by her were real sacraments, and real doubts about whether anyone ordained by her, male or female, was actually ordained.

Abstract:
The Liberian Catalogue represents a collection of short biographies of the bishops of Rome, starting with St. Peter, the first bishop of Rome, and ending with Pope Liberius (352-366). It is a part of an illuminated manuscript entitled The Chronograph of 354, whose author is a Roman senator named Valentinus, and it is also a valuable source of biographical information about the early bishops of Rome which has been preserved to this day. The catalogue depicts the pontificates of thirty-seven bishops of Rome, providing the years of the commencement and cessation of their pontificates, the length of their pontificates in years, months and days, and the names of the Roman emperors who were their contemporaries. In certain cases, the catalogue records significant events that came to pass within the Church during the tenure of the bishop in question or the exact date of the bishop's death. This paper first presents the text of Liberian Catalogue based on the Chronograph of 354, edited by Theodor Mommsen and published in 1892 as part of Monumenta Germaniae Historica series, as the thirteenth part of the collection, under the title Episcopi Romani. This is then followed by a translation into Serbian, accompanied by comments and the analysis of the text.

Abstract:
The proposed article is based on the corpus of historical sources of the 18th century and is devoted to the study of the singers of bishops of Pereyaslav. We found documentary evidence of the singers in 9 of the 14 bishops of Pereyaslav. According to the traditional order at the episcopal cathedrals of the Hetmanate, during the services, only the monks (kryloshany) sang. This tradition can be eloquently traced in the Pereyaslav Ascension Cathedral and other monasteries of the Pereyaslav eparchy during the 1720-1740s. The total number of singers in the cathedral monastery ranged from 5 to 9 people. At the head of the monks were two ustavnyky, who ruled the right and left choirs. And only in 1722, by a special decree, the Most Holy Governing Synod unified the rules, which primarily concerned the Ukrainian eparches. Since then, the order for the service of 10 singers has been established in the bishop's houses. Despite this, even before the decree was issued, vicar bishop Cyryl Szumlański was served by his own singers, led by the regent. The presence of the regent can be traced in the service of the next vicar bishop Joachim Strukov. Both the church monody and the polyphony sounded in the cathedral. We draw this conclusion from the available music books. Bishop Joakim Strukov in Pereyaslav owned the Heirmologia with musical notation, and in the time of Bishop Arseniy Berlo in the cathedral the musical-theoretical treatise of Mikołaj Dilecki "Musical Grammar" was rewritten. On the cover of this manuscript it was stated that one day a solemn partesnyi concert was performed. In connection with the last musical manuscript, the bishop's intention to introduce and consolidate innovations in the field of music education can be traced, when the aim of the students was to master the art of partes singing at a qualitatively better level. In addition to the above, this thesis is confirmed by information from the life of the singer of one of the previous bishops, when the teaching of partes singing took place outside Pereyaslav. The bishops' singers were called "pivchi" in authentic terminology, which we see both in documents from the archives of the Most Holy Governing Synod in St. Petersburg and in local documents from Pereyaslav. Beginning with the act sources of 1760 and at least until 1782, the group of bishop's singers was called "vocal music". During the same period, there is another name for this vocal group, which was used for internal use - "pivcha", which probably meant primarily a separate room where the singers lived. The choir was financed, first of all, from the bishop's treasury. And the singers received additional income by collecting money from the parishioners in a "singing mug", a special container for donations. According to expenditure sources, the funds received went to sewing, repairs, as well as the purchase of clothing and footwear. Among the information found in the sources about the singers, the total number of which reaches 29 names, not counting the mentioned singers without names and monks, we find representatives of various social stratum - children of clergy, Cossacks, burghers, commoners. For many of them, singing in the cathedral choir was not only an opportunity to earn a steady income, but also served as a springboard for career growth, for the rank of priest, or a place as a singer in one of the imperial capital choirs. In the second half of the 18th century there is a certain pattern, when most singers were disadvantaged, mostly orphans. In the life of the Pereyaslav bishops there were contacts with secular musicians-instrumentalists. In the 1720s, a bandura player served to vicar bishop Joachim Strukov. In the early 1780s, Hilarion Kondratkovskyi used the services of military musicians for solemn greetings during church holidays.

Abstract:
We examine letters texts of Sidonius Apollinaris, Bishop of Augustonemetum (modern Clermont) in Roman Gaul, affecting the issues of elections and consecration of bishops in Gallic cities. We consider the problem of determining the circle of persons participating in the election and consecration of bishops in the Christian Church of the last third of the 5th century, persons who may be elected as proteges to the bishop’s departments, and the process of ordination. In the literature there are various points of view on the problem. Some researchers believe that the elec-tions were democratic, almost national, while others say that the voice of the people (laiks) did not have a decisive significance: the right to make a final decision belonged to the episcopate. Most authors do not give exhaustive arguments based directly on historical practice in favor of their point of view, and if they give them, they are fragmentary, therefore, the indicated problems seem relevant at the present time. A study of the materials presented by Sidonius shows that the choice of a provincial bishop is made by the metropolitan together with other bishops of the province, and the metropolitan performs the consecration individually. Participation of people is mostly purely formal. The election of the metropolitan is carried out only by the bishops of his province, although if they are insufficient, the consent of the metropolitans of neighboring provinces is re-quired, moreover, it can be distant. The issue of the possibility of a national election of the metro-politan remains open, but the likelihood of such an election seems very small. The consecration of the metropolitan can also be performed by one bishop: the rule of conciliarity is not strictly enforced.

Abstract:
The article implicitly addresses the Church as an institution and organization, while it directly and more explicitly presents those that make a part of Church hierarchy, bishops and presbyteries. To better present and understand the existence and mission of bishops and presbyters, it was necessary, at least briefly, to highlight the very nature of the Church. The author divides the article in three chapters. In the first chapter, he represents the Church that has had its roots in the Old Testament and found its fullness and foundations in the Person of Jesus Christ. She has been present in God’s plan since the Old Testament times when the prophets announced her in images. In the second chapter, the author discusses the office of bishops in the early Church. This part addresses what the Church Fathers said about bishops, and their role and place within the early Church, and how particular councils and synods have defined them. The author brings the Church Fathers’ personal reflections and understanding of the office of bishop as well as certain canons that have emerged as the fruit of bishop’s collegiality and unity. The third chapter talks about presbyters. The author first presents the role of presbyter in the early Church, and then indicates the developmental path from terminology itself to the area of action at particular times in the life of the Church. The presbyter is put in a co-relationship with the bishop, he is dependent on him, but in time, due to new circumstances, he has gained a certain autonomy within the community. The author also emphasizes the importance of formation and education of church officials in areas of theology and morals.

Abstract:
Falsifications of noble pedigrees have repeatedly been subject of historical studies, but researchers have not yet turned to the study of similar falsifications made by bishops’ servants and their descendants. Due to uncertainty of their social status, representatives of bishops’ boyar scions and ministry clerks made every effort to establish their nobility by birth. However, not many could apply for integration into gentlefolk. At the same time, their descendants, having gained the right to receive hereditary titles through military service, nevertheless, were at pains to achieve affiliation to “ancient” nobility to have the right to include their names in the part 6 of the gubernia genealogical books. This article describes two cases: distortion and outright falsification of private pedigrees made in the late 18th century by descendants of the Tver bishop's house servants when approving their nobility. In the first case, the great-grandson of the bishop's dyak, collegiate assessor Peter Posnikov only maintained his ancestors’ “ancient” nobility. In the second case, the descendant of the bishop’s boyar scions, collegiate assessor Nikita Voronov directly falsified his pedigree by “reading” it from homonimous nobles of Vologda. Posnikov failed to achieve his affiliation to the “ancient” nobility. Voronov’s fabricated evidence was judged convincing, and he and his family were mentioned in the part 6 of the genealogy book of the Tver guberbia and later recognized as “ancient” nobility by the Senate. In order to investigate Posnikov and Voronov’s claims to nobility, the author has studied the materials of the Tver Gubernia Noble Assembly of Deputies. To establish their original pedigree, the materials of scribe and census descriptions, as well as office documentation of the Tver bishop's house, have been used. Both cases are illustrative of how the descendants of the bishops' servants pursued their desire to achieve affiliation to “ancient” nobility.

Abstract:
According to Can. 455 of the Code of Canon Law, a conference of bishops may issue general decrees only in cases where universal law has prescribed it or a special mandate of the Apostolic See has established it. In cases in which neither universal law nor a special mandate of the Apostolic See has granted the power to issue general decrees, the competence of each diocesan bishop remains intact, nor is a conference or its president able to act in the name of all the bishops unless each and every bishop has given consent. The purpose of the article is to analyse the legislative competence of the conference of bishops, which is provided for by the universal legislator. Therefore, the subject and the procedure of general decrees, which are laws, issued by the conference of bishops were analyzed first of all. The scope of the research is international because the Code of Canon Law applies to the Catholic Church, which is not bound by a specific territory.

Marritt, Stephen Peter. "The bishops of King Stephen's reign." Thesis, University of Glasgow, 2002. http://theses.gla.ac.uk/1481/.

Full text
Abstract:
Traditionally, the bishops who held office during the civil war which dominated King Stephen's reign (1135-1154) have been considered weak and ineffective, able neither to bring peace between the two sides or among warring local barons nor to protect their flocks or even themselves from the so-called 'Anarchy'. The explanation for this has been found in the bishops' lack of spiritual calibre. Bishops have also been seen as withdrawing their support from the king and ending their involvement in royal government, partly because of increasing general ecclesiastical desire for separation between Church and State and partly because of specific disputes with Stephen. As a consequence of all this, bishops are allowed little importance in modern histories of Stephen's reign. This thesis shows that modern historiographical consensus is based in flawed interpretive frameworks which have led to misinterpretation of the nature of the episcopate and its importance in Stephen's reign. It offers more valid alternatives and then re-examines, the royal, ecclesiastical and, especially, the local evidence in light of them to show that, in fact, the bishops were crucially important figures in regional politics, religion and society during the civil war. It proves as well, that they could possess considerable spiritual authority and continued to be committed to the king and active in the government of the kingdom throughout the period. Additionally, each of these also has consequences for how the episcopacy and Anglo-Norman history in general are understood. This is, therefore, a reassessment of the bishops of King Stephen's reign.

Abstract:
When the bishop Hydatius found himself held hostage in Gallaecia, a Roman province in the northwestern Iberian Peninsula, by a band of Sueves in the year 460, he deployed his experience as an ambassador for his congregation and used his captivity as a tool for negotiating peace. As this example shows, bishops held considerable economic, political, and social power in the early Middle Ages. The expansion of ecclesiastical influence was not, however, a simple consequence of the legalization of Christianity or a power vacuum that followed the withdrawal of imperial authority. The transformation of the episcopate resulted instead from dynamic processes to which all status groups contributed and that are best understood through contextual and diachronic analysis. This monograph focuses on the clerical community in Gallaecia and employs a case study and interdisciplinary approach, incorporating written and material evidence, to put bishops like Hydatius in their larger social and economic contexts to elucidate why the people living and working in their sees would imbue them with increasing authority and explain how their roles within their local communities expanded.

Abstract:
The paper deals with foundation and further fortunes of the Florentine abbey of San Miniato, founded by bishop Ildebrando (1018), and discusses the grounds of the strong hostility that Vallombrosan monks demonstrated toward florentine bishops like the same Ildebrando or Pietro Mezzabarba (who 1067 founded the nunnery of San Pier Maggiore). The so-called Vita anonima of John Gualberto, discovered and published by Robert Davidsohn, is particularly hard on these bishops, but it was written around 1120 by a monk of San Salvatore di Settimo (near Florence), in order to discredit the present bishop Goffredo Alberti, brother of count Tancredi Nontigiova. The paper considers also the cases of Pistoia and Pisa, where around the end of 11th century local bishops founded the abbeys of San Michele in Forcole and San Rossore.

Abstract:
The paper reviews the bishops of the most important Tuscan towns from the time of pope Paschal II until about 1180. After 1113-1115 the bishops of northern Tuscany took a lot of castles and seigneurial rights previously belonged to Count Ugo III, last remnant of the Cadolingi family. In the same years Count Geoffrey, son of Albert II of the Alberti, became bishop of Florence and made the interests of the bishopric coincide with those of his family. Pope Innocent II (1130-1143) appointed a good number of Tuscan bishops. We can recall both Pisan archbishops Hubert (1133-1137) and Baldwin (1138-1145) and Atto, bishop of Pistoia between 1133 and 1153. In 1144 he introduced in Pistoia the cult of Saint James (still very celebrated in the city). After the papal schism of 1159 four Tuscan bishoprics joined the popes supported by Frederick I in opposition to Alexander III. Normality returned only shortly before 1180.

Abstract:
This chapter considers the bishop’s role as leader of an organization whose primary resources are people. Using data from the survey and interviews, the chapter explores bishops’ relationships and collaborations with Church personnel, including priests, deacons, religious, and lay persons. It also explores relationships with other bishops and collaborations through state and national bishops’ conferences. The first section explores the bishops’ perspectives and experiences with different types of Church personnel. The second section discusses how bishops rely on different individuals and groups to assist in their decision making. The final section looks beyond the diocese to relationships with fellow bishops, both individually and as part of national and state bishop conferences.

Abstract:
Catholic bishops have captured the imagination of novelists, who have fashioned them into unforgettable, larger-than-life characters. These include the saintly Bishop Myriel of Les Misérables, the treacherous Cardinal Richelieu of The Three Musketeers, the quietly perseverant Bishop Latour of Death Comes for the Archbishop, and the scheming Bishop Angri of the popular The Da Vinci Code. These portrayals are caricatures, but they probably reflect a real historical tendency for people, lay Catholics included, to view the bishops on a simplistic spectrum that ranges from haloed hero to biretta’d bad guy. This introductory book chapter provides an overview of Roman Catholic bishops and their responsibilities. The chapter discusses the three primary roles of bishops, defined by Church documents as “sanctifying, governing, and teaching.” Types of bishops are distinguished (auxiliaries, ordinaries, and cardinals) as well as their differing positions within the Church hierarchy. The chapter summarizes the secretive process by which priests are chosen by the pope to become bishops. It also explains the symbols of their ministry (e.g., mitre, crozier, and cathedra).

Abstract:
This chapter focuses on the significance of bishops in medieval Italy. All bishops were geographically closer to Rome, which was recognized as the undisputed center of Western Christianity. Episcopates in Italy from 1050 to 1300 are characterized by a large number of sees, extreme disparities in their status and resources, and proximity to the Holy See. Moreover, the aforementioned characteristics shaped the experience of Christianity and the institutional character of the medieval Italian Church. The chapter explains how dense urbanization resulted in the large number of bishops in the Italian peninsula. It also mentions papal territorial ambitions as the chief disadvantage of proximity to Rome.

Abstract:
Coal mine slope stability is an important aspect of mining activities. The research site is located at Pit PQRT in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. The research area is a freshwater peat swamp area located on a delta plain with tidal influence. The swamp material is located on the low wall side of the mine. Slope stability in the study area, which is composed of soft swamp material needs special attention because it is a major problem in the design of mining slope geometry. However, the availability of mine slope infrastructure in the form of active roads and sediment ponds also needs attention. Slope stability analyses were conducted using the Bishop Simplified and Janbu Simplified limit equilibrium methods. The slope geometry design at elevation-16 to-13 is 3 meters bench height, 20 degrees slope angle, and 15 m bench width. The elevations are-10 to-1, the bench height is 3 meters, bench width is 20 m. At elevation +2 the bench width is 35 m, and at elevation +5 the bench width is 40 m. The overall slope analysis results using the Bishop Simplified method the safety factor is 1.37 while in the Janbu Simplified method, the safety factor is 1.31. In the calculation of the safety factor considering active roads and sediment ponds the safety factor is 1.57.

Abstract:
Abstract The phenomenon of positive spiking in Direct Current(DC) ripple is not well understood by most cathodic protection field personnel. This study was an attempt to verify the existence of positive spiking in DC ripple, and possible results. During the project one hundred cathodic protection (CP)rectifiers were observed and oscilloscope waveforms recorded in Tyler, TX. in Bishop, TX stainless steel pins were utilized to observe voltage and current movement through the ground, again an oscilloscope was used to observe and record waveforms. Finally a laboratory type experiment was developed using steel nails as anodes and cathodes to observe different corrosion rates by different current sources. An existing CP rectifier installation was employed, to provide both “filtered” and “unfilterd" DC protective currents, and a wet cell battery to provide pure DC protective currents. These studies indicate corrosion rates may be affected by positive spiking.

Abstract:
This article identifies the etymology of the names of bishops from the metropolitan see of Blaj, from the origin of the Romanian Church United with Rome (Greek-Catholic Church) until nowadays, while considering the onomastic influence of Latin on the bishops’ names. The analysis starts from an etymological study (Hebrew, Greek and Latin names) which is interwoven with aspects concerning the structure of the Romanian language, the interaction with Catholic tradition and other onomastic influences on the names in question.

Abstract:
After the end of the Second World War, the Serbian Orthodox Church found itself in new social and political circumstances, but also in the legal system of socialist Yugoslavia, which was significantly different from the legal system of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. In 1946, the new communist government adopted the Constitution of the Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia, which, among other things, standardized the relationship between the Church and the state. On the territory of the newly formed socialist Yugoslavia, which had just come out of the war, the war against the Serbian Orthodox Church was still raging. From the positions of the new state authorities, liquidations and persecution of bishops, priests and believers of the Serbian Orthodox Church were carried out. Several laws were adopted that were directly directed against the Serbian Orthodox Church and other traditional churches and religious communities. The Law on the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1931 was repealed by the decision of the new communist government, as well as all other regulations that were passed until April 6, 1941. The Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church could not be convened in a regular or extraordinary session in wartime conditions and due to the imprisonment of Serbian Patriarch Gavrilo (Dožić). On November 14, 1946, Patriarch Gavrilo returned to the country and assumed his patriarchal duties. The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, under the presidency of Patriarch Gavrilo, convened the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the first regular session after six years of being prevented from convening the highest church body. The session of the Holy Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church was held from April 24 to May 21, 1947 in Belgrade. Although there is a belief that amendments to the Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1931 were adopted at that session or that the "Constitution was changed", based on the relevant archival material and on the basis of the formal-legal element of this general ecclesiastical-legal act, it is established that The Holy Synod of Bishops, regardless of the numerous norms that have been retained from the Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church since 1931, actually adopted the new Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The subject of this work is the Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1947, which is still in force in the Serbian Orthodox Church today.

Daunt, Lisa Marie. "Tradition and Modern Ideas: Building Post-war Cathedrals in Queensland and Adjoining Territories." In The 38th Annual Conference of the Society of Architectural Historians Australia and New Zealand. SAHANZ, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.55939/a4008playo.

Abstract:
As recent as 1955, cathedrals were still unbuilt or incomplete in the young and developing dioceses of the Global South, including in Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Guinea. The lack of an adequate cathedral was considered a “reproach” over a diocese. To rectify this, the region’s Bishops sought out the best architects for the task – as earlier Bishops had before them – engaging architects trained abroad and interstate, and with connections to Australia’s renown ecclesiastical architects. They also progressed these projects remarkably fast, for cathedral building. Four significant cathedral projects were realised in Queensland during the 1960s: the completion of St James’ Church of England, Townsville (1956-60); the extension of All Souls’ Quetta Memorial Church of England, Thursday Island (1964-5); stage II of St John’s Church of England, Brisbane (1953-68); and the new St Monica’s Catholic, Cairns (1965-8). During this same era Queensland-based architects also designed new Catholic cathedrals for Darwin (1955-62) and Port Moresby (1967-69). Compared to most cathedrals elsewhere they are small, but for their communities these were sizable undertakings, representing the “successful” establishment of these dioceses and even the making of their city. However, these cathedral projects had their challenges. Redesigning, redocumenting and retendering was common as each project questioned how to adopt (or not) emergent ideas for modern cathedral design. Mid-1960s this questioning became divisive as the extension of Brisbane’s St John’s recommenced. Antagonists and the client employed theatrics and polemic words to incite national debate. However, since then these post-war cathedral projects have received limited attention within architectural historiography, even those where the first stage has been recognised. Based on interviews, archival research and fieldwork, this paper discusses these little-known post-war cathedrals projects – examining how regional tensions over tradition and modern ideas arose and played out.

Abstract:
After the golden age of the city, due to the peninsular bishops and humanists and later through the military and civil architects, the Italians returned as protagonists after 1989, when in Oradea, the third spoken language, after Romanian and Hungarian, became Italian, not only through native speakers, but also through the corollary of speakers around the central native group, employees, collaborators, family, friends. Where there is an Italian, in a professional or private entourage, everyone present becomes an Italian speaker! The closest trusted collaborators of Italian entrepreneurs are always good Italian speakers. The Italians represent a force with significant vitality and impact on the urban demographic and cultural texture. Therefore a still discreet but increasingly evident phenomenon of „re-romanisation” is taking place through presence and language; a presence that is now visible, not only through the economic realities it brings, but which also produces linguistic contamination and transformation.

Abstract:
After the Council of Trent in the territory of Hungary, in order to facilitate the daily service of the priests, the diocesan bishops made sure that the priests had at their disposal a book that contained the celebreation of the sacraments and sacramentals. The territory of today's Archdiocese of Košice belonged to the Jáger Diocese until 1804, but basically, even after the foundation of the diocese, the current editions of the Rituale Agriense (RA) continued to be used for the celebration of sacraments, because the principle applied was that the archbishop published liturgical books for the entire territory of his archdiocese. These RAs were the most widespread liturgical books after the Roman Missal, because they were used in daily liturgical practice. Even the current Rituale Romanum, which was published after the renewal of the Second Vatican Council, is based on these original rituals, but it introduces some new blessings and sacramentals, while it no longer mentions which are no longer necessary.

Abstract:
The false codling moth (Thaumatotibia leucotreta) is a major polyphagous pest native to sub-Saharan Africa, affecting over 50 crop species, including citrus, stone fruits, nuts, arable crops, grapevines and vegetables. Larval feeding causes significant damage to fruits, leading to premature ripening and yield losses. The pest, present year-round due to its lack of diapause, is found in African countries and Israel and can spread through trade. Strict phytosanitary measures are required to prevent its spread, impacting trade markets. There are no classical biological control programs for this pest. Promising biological control agents include the egg parasitoid Trichogrammatoidea cryptophlebiae and the larval parasitoid Agathis bishop, both native to southern Africa. Additionally, the entomopathogenic virus Cryptophlebia leucotreta granulovirus (CrleGV) has been used against it in citrus.
