Full textIn this work electronic structure of the valence band and optical properties of the semiconducting BiSI and BiSeI crystals are investigated in the energy range 0 – 25 eV. Calculations were made with ab initio based on the density-functional theory (DFT) with program Wien2k. The full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method was used with the generalized gradient approximation (GGA).Dielectric functions imaginary and real parts of BiSI and BiSeI crystals agree satisfactory with corresponding experimental dependences obtained by spectroscopic ellipsometry technique in the spectral range of 1 – 5.5 eV. Experimentally investigated imaginary and real parts spectra have been described by contribution of four Lorentz – type lines in the model of pseudo-dielectric function (PDF).

Full textModern Systems on Chip usually include large embedded memories. These memories occupy the largest part of the circuit (up to 80% of the total circuit area). Furthermore, memories are more dense than logic and thus, more prone to faults. Therefore, the quality of the memory is crucial for the overall quality of the chip. On the other hand, the reduction of the development cost passes from the reduction of the test cost. Finally, the management of the test complexity of the increasingly complex structures cannot be made with an effective manner without the provision and integration of the advanced test techniques. In the first part of the present thesis, we try to answer to test quality requirement by presenting various memory Built In Self-Test (BIST) solutions that cover all the tests required for memory: characterization test, production test, field test and defects analysis test. The proposed solutions allow handling the limitations of the existing memory BIST techniques, such as the selection of the best trade-off between fault coverage/area overhead and the guarantee of the at-speed testing. We developed also a CBISR (Column Built In Self Repair) technique that allows a significant yield improvement and a prolonged product life in particular for large memories. The second part of this thesis addresses the problem of the automation of the BIST/BISR solutions generation. This is done by designing and implementing a synthesis tool for memories BIST/BISR. This tool innovates at the same time by its implementation approach and the offered features. In order to allow an effective implementation, it uses an original approach of BIST synthesis of the memory tests. This approach is based on the concept of disturbance by report to a median axis represented by the March tests. Except some electric tests, this synthesis approach allows to synthesize any memory test algorithm. Furthermore, by supporting the disturbances of these algorithms, this approach is flexible enough to allow supporting the synthesis of new test algorithms that could be introduced in the future. It offers finally, a mechanism to explore the solutions space by taking into account various optimization strategies in order to deliver optimal architecture, with respect to area cost, the operation frequency, the fault coverage and the repair efficiency

Full textA presente dissertação objetivou investigar como a escritora Ana Maria Machado (1941) aborda questões relacionadas ao feminino por meio de sua literatura. Para tanto, tomou-se como corpus para esta pesquisa a obra Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel, publicada pela primeira vez em 1982. A partir dela, buscou-se evidenciar a representação cultural do feminino, em dado momento histórico e, consequentemente, as nuanças transformadoras da mulher, vincada em uma sociedade androcêntrica. Em nível temático, essa narrativa desnuda sinais da altivez de figuras femininas que romperam com as convenções impostas pela sociedade patriarcalista. Possibilitando e estabelecendo um diálogo entre três gerações de mulheres Bisa Bia, Isabel e Neta Beta , o universo ficcional dessa literatura infanto-juvenil apresenta-se como campo fértil para questionamentos acerca da realidade patriarcal. Tendo-se isso em vista, buscou-se como arcabouço teórico, para fundamentar esta análise, os ensinamentos de Pierre Bourdieu, de Michelle Perrot, de Simone de Beauvoir, de Mikhail Bakhtin, de Antonio Candido, dentre outros.

In this thesis, I will show that readily available reagents can undergo deborylative alkylation to deliver synthetically useful primary, secondary and tertiary boronic esters. 1,1-Diboryl alkanes can also engage in base-promoted deborylative cyclization to afford diversified cyclopentane rings with boron motifs attached. This transformation is very appealing because of the prevalence of five-membered rings in natural products. Lastly, it will be showed that geminal bis(boronic) esters can act as an important cornerstone in constructing relatively complicated structures such as natural product Arenolide

Full textThe present Project of the Business Development course 2 of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, consists in the creation of a wooden support for bicycles that will be made with OSB boards that ensures high resistance in the supports. It should be noted that we are going to head to Metropolitan Lima in the districts with the largest population in the use of bicycles and that also have access to bicycle paths, such as Surco, La Molina, San Isidro, San Borja and Miraflores, we will also go to socioeconomic sectors A and B, with an age range of 18 to 45 years. The project is viable, since according to the in-depth interview that was carried out, a large percentage of people who use the bicycle as a means of transportation was identified; Part of it, the research also indicates that users have difficulty storing their bikes as they do not have adequate space in their homes. On the one hand, for the start-up of the project an initial investment of S /. 51,884 soles, which will be financed 100% by shareholders without the need to be financed by banks. At the same time, we take into account that the months of December, January, March and July will have high sales, which has proven that the business is profitable. On the other hand, the marketing area will make use of digital advertising, for this we will use web tools such as Facebook, Google Adwords, Landing Page and Community Manager, which allows us to better disseminate the product. The distribution will be coordinated directly with the client through social networks; It is also important to indicate that there will be external distributors such as Maestro and Sodimac.

Full textThermoelectric (TE) materials are of broad interest for alternate energy applications, specifically waste heat applications, as well as solid-state refrigeration. The efficiency of TE materials can be improved through either the enhancement of the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity, or through the reduction of the thermal conductivity, k, specifically the lattice portion of thermal conductivity, klatt. Nanostructuring has been proven to reduce klatt and therefore increase efficiency. The inability to accurately model the lattice and electronic contributions to k makes optimizing the reduction of klatt difficult. This work demonstrates that the lattice and electronic contributions to k in nanostructured materials can be directly measured experimentally by separating the contributions using magnetic field. We use this technique along with other characterization techniques to determine the effects of doping Ce, Sm, and Ho into Bi88Sb12. Along with enhancing the efficiency of the material, TE devices must be thermally stable in the temperature range of operation. Therefore we also study the effects of temperature cycling, annealing, oxidation, and diffusion barriers on TE devices. These studies are accomplished through both homemade and commercially available measurement equipment

Full textThe main challenge for fault/error detection in sequential circuits is the large number of flip-flops (FFs) in modern designs. Due to the large number and variable length of test sequences required for such circuits, the existing deterministic ATPG algorithms fail to achieve high test coverages. Such algorithms typically work by first unrolling the sequential circuit and then performing frequent backtracking to generate test vectors for fault detection. For the hard-to-detect faults, these schemes either run out of memory or require a huge computational effort. We show that simulationbased ATPGs, on the other hand, scale very well for large circuits as they perform only forward simulation. A fundamental problem associated with simulation-based ATPGs is to avoid exhaustive circuit simulation, which is impractical for large designs in the real world, by choosing high quality test vectors that achieve a high test coverage within a low simulation time. We tackle this primary problem by exploiting different correlation-based heuristics.
The intuition behind using correlation-based heuristics is to better guide the pattern generation engine such that the specific objective of either fault detection or property verification in UMC or minimizing power consumption during the testing, is achieved in an efficient manner without resorting to exhaustive simulation. In particular, we model and explore the following correlations: (1) temporal correlations, i.e. correlations on each primary input (PI) in different time frames, and
(2) spatial correlations, i.e. correlations among different FFs in the same time frame. We employ temporal correlations in the context of pattern generation of a built-in-self-test (BIST) architecture and we explore spatial correlations to guide a logic-simulation-based sequential ATPG and low power scan test generation. Experimental results on ISCAS and ITC benchmark circuits have shown that those correlations can enhance the simulation to discover more faults or design errors in a significantly shorter time.

Full textThe growing demand of enantiopure molecules for applications in life sciences (pharmaceutical and agrochemical chemistry) or in new fragrances is one of the major issue of the late decades in chemical industry. Moreover, recent environmental regulations pushed the emergence of efficient, cost-effective and environmental-friendly processes for the manufacture of these new chemical entities. The methods involving the use of catalysis have clear advantages over those requiring stoichiometric amounts of reagents and phosphine ligands has played a key role in the evolution of catalysis. However fine tuning of the catalytic activity by modification of the electronic/steric properties of the ligand systems is far from trivial mainly because of the difficulty and cumbersome procedures for structural modification of the ligand scaffolds.This work was focused on the development of new axial chiral phosphorus structures, of which BINAP is the most representative example. The first objective was the synthesis of 5-membered biheteroaromatic systems based on the bis-indolizine scaffold, whose the heterocyclic system is known for the electronic richness of the 10-π electron aromatic core. The second objective was the application of bis-triazolylphosphine oxides in enantioselective Abramov, allylation of aldehydes and finally reductive aldolisation reactions

Full textThe objective of this work consists in constructing new bicyclic carbohydrate based scaffolds and studying their potential functionalization for peptidomimetic design. Starting from a a,ß-unsaturated sugar-ketone, we describe a rapid access to pyrazolo-pyranoside and pyrimidino-pyranoside compounds. Firstly, we present the functionalization of the pyrazolo-pyranoside platform which under acidic condition, undergo pyranoside ring-opening generating highly functionalized optically pure pyrazoles. Secondly part, the platform SMe-pyrimidino-pyranoside was functionalized by pallado-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions (Suzuki and Stille) on the pyrimidine ring. The functionalization of the pyranose system was carried out by regioselective alkylation. Finally, we use the SMe-pyrimidino-pyranoside platform for the construction of peptidomimetics of the RGD tripeptide

Full textAminosterol derivatives analogues of squalamine possess a broad spectrum activity against multidrug resistant bacteria and fungi. We synthesized a new series of 3,20-bis(polyaminosteroïd) analogues involving a titanium reductive amination possessing numerous positives charges due to the presence of nitrogen groups. The study of relation structure-activity demonstrates that the nature of the amino group attached to the sterol plays a crucial role on antimicrobial activity of these compounds. We had also determined the mechanism of action of bis(polyaminosteroïd) on Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria. The study of antifungal activity of squalamine and aminosterol derivative ASD-1 show a good activity against various yeast responsible of fungal infections, minimal inhibitrice concentration ranging from 1 to 16 μg/mL. We studied a potential application of these compounds in human therapeutic. We evaluated squalamine and related parent-derived ointments (1%) as potential new compounds for S. aureus decolonization in a new mouse model. Using this model we found that squalamine ointment (1%) was able to reduce efficiently S. aureus colonization. Squalamine and bis(polyaminosteroïd) derivatives were actives against multidrug resistant bacteria and fungi isolated from cystic fibrosis patients. We investigated the potential use of squalamine compound in vitro in a nebulizer disinfection model. A formulation of squalamine disinfecting soluble tablets at 2.5 % (W/W) was developed and successfully applied for rapid nebulizer disinfection

Full textThe aim of this research project is to promote the formation of new C-C bonds and the production of valuable chemicals by using chelated nickel complexes. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to [nickel(bis-phosphine)] complexes employed as catalysts for Negishi cross coupling reactions. Designed Ni(0) precatalyst [(dcpp)Ni(n2-toluene)] (dcpp = 1,3-bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)propane) promotes efficiently the Negishi cross coupling between aryl chlorides and phenylzinc chloride derivatives at low catalyst loadings (down to 0.2 mol% - 1 mol%) under mild conditions (THF, 60°C). Mechanistic investigations relying on stoichiometric reactions and DFT calculations prove the involvement of Ni(0)/Ni(II) intermediates rather than Ni(I)/Ni(III) species during the catalysis. The second part of this work deals with the oxidative coupling between ethylene and CO2 at bis-phosphine and bis-NHC chelated nickel complexes for the production of value-added chemicals. The equilibrium between [(dcpp)Ni(C2H4)] and [(dcpp)nickelalactone] has been investigated by kinetic studies. The subsequent cleavage of [(dcpp) nickelalactone] by pinacolborane leads to its reductive functionalization into a propanol derivative. Preliminary mechanistic and catalytic investigations have been undertaken. Moreover, new methodologies are provided for the synthesis of the first [(bis-NHC)Ni(C2H4)] and [(bis-NHC)nickelalactone] complexes

Full textOne of the main key points to enable mixed-signal BIST solutions is the development of efficient on-chip analog signal generators that can provide appropriate test stimuli and replace costly external signal generators in standard analog and mixed-signal functional test protocols. In this line, we present in this thesis different sinewave generation strategies based on harmonic cancellation techniques to design a high-frequency on-chip sinusoidal synthetize. The proposed generators employ digital hardware to provide a set of phase-shifted digital square-wave signals. These square-wave signals are scaled and combined using different harmonic cancellation strategies in a simplified current-steering DAC. The selected generator allows the cancellation of all harmonic components up to the eleventh. Additionally, a simple calibration strategy has been devised to compensate the impact of process variations and mismatch on the effectiveness of the harmonic cancellation. The simplicity of the circuitry makes this approach suitable for mixed-signal BIST applications. Electrical simulations of a 28nm FDSOI design and experimental results are provided to validate the functionality of the proposed signal generator. Obtained results show a calibrated performance around 52dB of SFDR for a generated sinusoidal signal at 166 MHz

Full textSpirolides are marine macrocyclic neurotoxic phycotoxines which concentrateduring algal blooms, causing public health issues. First absorbed and concentrated by seafood,they are then potentially transmitted to marine wildlife and humans through the food chain. To date, the mode of action of spirolides is not fully elucidated and the toxicity toward humans stillneed studies. Considering their low bioavailability, their synthesis proves to be crucial to have enough material for pharmacological studies. These thesis works, performed in collaboration with Dr. Guillou’s team at ICSN, were aiming at the total synthesis of 13-desmethyl spirolide C, the most potent member of the spirolide family (IC50 = 5-8 μg.kg-1 i.p.). The envisioned synthetic strategy implies a disconnection of the molecule into two fragments. Our target, the bisspiroketal fragment, was obtained through acidic cyclisation of a 1,4-diketone formed via a sila-Stetter reaction. This manuscript first reports the methodology for the key sila-Stetter typereaction, and then the different approaches which have led to the synthesis of the C10-C24 bisspiroketalfragment of 13-desmethyl spirolide C. In order to form the stereogenic centers presents on the intermediate 1,4-diketone, enantioselective pathways and then diastereoselective pathways, relying on the use of chiral auxiliaries, were initially explored. Eventually these centers were generated from chiral pool and the tertiary alcohol present on the fragment was formed through self-regeneration of chirality

Full textTendo como corpus de investigação a obra Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel, de Ana Maria Machado, tem-se o propósito de empreender uma reflexão crítico-analítica, considerando a trajetória temporal do feminino que transita por três gerações: Isabel (Bel), personagem narradora que empreende um percurso rumo ao autoconhecimento e à liberdade, partindo do apego às convenções sociais representadas por Bisa Bia até a conquista de autonomia na figura de Neta Beta. O objeto de estudo perpassa as personagens Bisa Bia, cuja percepção de vida remonta ao século XIX, e Isabel, protagonista de uma sociedade de final do século XX, ponderando, sobretudo, o tempo da escritura e a marca pessoal da autora nessa obra literária. Tendo isso em vista, analisou-se a referida obra como resultado das escolhas pessoais do escritor cujo repertório a sociedade e o tempo oferecem sob o prisma da adversidade de vozes da protagonista com ênfase à discussão de gênero, constituindo, assim, mote para discussões críticas sobre os fatos e a repercussão desses nas relações que permeiam o público feminino. Full textThis work describes the synthesis and characterization of nineteen compounds derivative of diselenide and diselenoethers of bis(2-pyridyl) with metals of different degree of hardness. Among the nineteen obtained complex, seventeen had their structure elucidated by X-ray crystallography, besides others characterization methods, such as elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Six different complexes were obtained when bis(2-pyridyl)diselenide was used as a ligand. These complexes involve metal centers of AuI, CuII, CuI, ReI, ReV and ReIII. Among the rhenium complexes, stands out the ReV complex that has a Se0 atom as a ligand, a rare exemple not previously reported in the literature. Bis(2-pyridyl)diselenoethers with one, three or four methylene groups between selenium atoms were synthesized and characterized. Among these three synthesized diselenoethers two are unprecedented in the literature (L2, L3). The methylene groups act as spacers, and were used in order to evaluate their influence across the complexation with different metals. It was observed that as longer is the carbon chain between the selenium atoms as higher is the tendency to polymer formation. The thirteen complexes obtained with the ligands bis(2-pyridyl)diselenoethers demonstrated follow a trend of complexation which agrees with Pearson's theory of acids and bases, wherein the nitrogen atoms of the ligands coordinate with harder metals and selenium atoms coordinate the softer metals. The obtained complexes were submitted to antioxidant activity tests. Tests of superoxide dismutase (SOD) showed that copper complexes 2, 7, 8, 13 and 18 had good antioxidant activity, with IC50 values less than 0.66 μM. Among these compounds the complex [Cu4I4(L1)2] (8) presented the best IC50 value in 0.08 μM. These results demonstrate that the Cu compounds mentioned have great potential to be used as mimetics of superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD). In addition, the system CuI/bis(2-pyridyl)diselenoether showed as an efficient catalyst for the formation of a new C-S bond by cross-coupling reactions using glycerol as solvent. Still, the catalytic activity for the complex 8 was also tested for this type of reaction. Both of these catalytic systems provide the desired products in good to excellent yields when compared to the literature.
Este trabalho apresenta a síntese e caracterização de dezenove compostos derivados do disseleneto e disselenoéteres de bis(2-piridina) com metais de diferente dureza. Dos dezenove complexos obtidos, dezessete tiveram sua estrutura elucidada por difração de raios X em monocristal, além de outros métodos de caracterização como análise elementar, espectroscopia de infravermelho e espectrometria de massas. Seis diferentes complexos foram obtidos quando utilizou-se o disseleneto de bis(2-piridina) como ligante. Estes complexos envolvem os íons AuI, CuII, CuI, ReI, ReV e ReIII. Dentre os complexos de rênio, destaca-se o complexo de ReV que possui um átomo de Se0 como ligante, um caso raro até então não reportado na literatura. Disselenoéteres de bis(2-piridina) com um, três ou quatro carbonos metilênicos entre os átomos de selênio foram sintetizados e caracterizados. Dos três disselenoéteres sintetizados, dois são inéditos na literatura (L2, L3). Os grupos metilênicos atuam como espaçadores e foram utilizados com o objetivo de avaliar a sua influência frente à complexação com metais de transição de diferente dureza. Observou-se que quanto maior a cadeia carbônica entre os átomos de selênio maior é a tendência para a formação de polímeros. Os treze complexos obtidos com ligantes disselenoéteres de bis(2-piridina) demostraram seguir uma tendência de complexação que está de acordo com a teoria de Pearson sobre ácidos e bases, no qual os átomos de nitrogênio dos ligantes se coordenam a metais mais duros e os átomos de selênio se coordenam a metais mais macios. Os complexos obtidos foram submetidos a testes de atividade antioxidante. Os testes da atividade superóxido dismutase (SOD) demonstraram que os compostos de Cu 2, 7, 8, 13 e 18 apresentaram boa atividade antioxidante, com valores de IC50 menores que 0,66 μM. Dentre esses compostos o complexo [Cu4I4(L1)2] (8) foi o que apresentou o melhor valor de IC50 em 0,08 μM. Esses resultados demonstram que os compostos de Cu citados apresentam bons potenciais para serem empregados como miméticos da enzima superóxido dismutase (SOD). Adicionalmente, o sistema CuI/disselenoéter de bis(2-piridina) mostrou-se eficiente na catálise de reações de acoplamento para a formação de uma nova ligação C-S utilizando glicerol como solvente. Também testou-se a atividade catalítica do complexo 8 para este tipo de reação. Ambos os sistemas catalíticos deram origem a produtos com rendimentos de bons a excelentes quando comparados ao reportado na literatura.

Full textInAs and Bi1-xSbx nanowires with their distinct material properites hold promises for nanoelec- tronics and quantum computing. While the high electron mobility of InAs is interesting for na- noelectronics applications, the 3D topological insulator behaviour of Bi1-xSbx can be used for the realization of Majorana Fermions based qubit devices. In both the cases improving the quality of the nanoscale material is mandatory and is the primary goal of the thesis, where we study CMOS compatible InAs nanowire integration on Silicon and where we develop a new nanoscale topological insulator. For a full CMOS compatiblity, the growth of InAs on Silicon requires to be self-catalyzed, fully vertical and uniform without crossing the thermal budge of 450 °C. These CMOS standards, combined with the high lattice mismatch of InAs with Silicon, prevented the integration of InAs nanowires for nanoelectronics devices. In this thesis, two new surface preparations of the Silicon were studied involving in-situ Hydrogen gas and in-situ Hydrogen plasma treatments and leading to the growth of fully vertical and self-catalyzed InAs nanowires compatible with the CMOS limitations. The different growth mechanisms resulting from these surface preparations are discussed in detail and a switch from Vapor-Solid (VS) to Vapor- Liquid-Solid (VLS) mechanism is reported. Very high aspect ratio InAs nanowires are obtained in VLS condition: upto 50 nm in diameter and 3 microns in length. On the other hand, Bi1-xSbx is the first experimentally confirmed 3D topololgical insulator. In this new material, the presence of robust 2D conducting states, surrounding the 3D insulating bulk can be engineered to host Majorana fermions used as Qubits. However, the compostion of Bi1-xSbx should be in the range of 0.08 to 0.24 for the material to behave as a topological insula- tor. We report growth of defect free and composition controlled Bi1-xSbx nanowires on Si for the first time. Different nanoscale morphologies are obtained including nanowires, nanoribbons and nanoflakes. Their diameter can be 20 nm thick for more than 10 microns in length, making them ideal candidates for quantum devices. The key role of the Bi flux, the Sb flux and the growth tem- perature on the density, the composition and the geometry of nanoscale structures is investigated and discussed in detail

A presente dissertação objetivou investigar como a escritora Ana Maria Machado (1941) aborda questões relacionadas ao feminino por meio de sua literatura. Para tanto, tomou-se como corpus para esta pesquisa a obra Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel, publicada pela primeira vez em 1982. A partir dela, buscou-se evidenciar a representação cultural do feminino, em dado momento histórico e, consequentemente, as nuanças transformadoras da mulher, vincada em uma sociedade androcêntrica. Em nível temático, essa narrativa desnuda sinais da altivez de figuras femininas que romperam com as convenções impostas pela sociedade patriarcalista. Possibilitando e estabelecendo um diálogo entre três gerações de mulheres – Bisa Bia, Isabel e Neta Beta –, o universo ficcional dessa literatura infanto-juvenil apresenta-se como campo fértil para questionamentos acerca da realidade patriarcal. Tendo-se isso em vista, buscou-se como arcabouço teórico, para fundamentar esta análise, os ensinamentos de Pierre Bourdieu, de Michelle Perrot, de Simone de Beauvoir, de Mikhail Bakhtin, de Antonio Candido, dentre outros.
This work aimed at investigating how the writer Ana Maria Machado (1941) addresses some issues related to women in her literature. For that, we have analyzed her work “Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel”, which was first published in 1982. From this analysis, we have tried to identify the cultural representation of “the feminine” in a given historical context and, as a result, some women's transformative aspects inlaid in an androcentric society. From the thematic perspective, the “Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel”'s narrative presents signs of haughtiness of the female characters, which break with the conventions imposed by patriarchal society. By establishing a dialogue between three generations of women - Bisa Bia, Isabel and granddaughter Beta - the fictional universe of this children's literature presents as a fertile ground for questioning about the patriarchal reality. For supporting this research, we have used, as theoretical foundation, works of the following authors: Pierre Bourdieu, Michelle Perrot, Simone de Beauvoir, Mikhail Bakhtin, and Antonio Candido, among others.
