The distribution of wind power density in the Black and Azov Seas is defined, as well as to identify areas with the most favorable conditions for the placement of offshore wind turbines. Most of the Black and Azov Seas are characterized by significant wind resources (value of wind power density > 400 W/m2). The total area of sites with favorable conditions for the placement of offshore wind turbines is about 98500 km2.

The emergence of the concept of sustainable development was caused by the need to solve global problems, some of which pose real threats to the existence of mankind. Conceptually, the “blue economy” is a promising direction for the development of cooperation between states and regional organizations of the Azov-Black Sea region, as well as the European Union. The practical application of tools for its implementation in the EU predetermines the need for additional study and evaluation of this experience. Marine spatial planning is one of the main instruments for realizing the “blue economy” and

Studying the distribution of morphologically cryptic animal species is always a very difficult task. Because most marsh frog species (the Pelophylax ridibundus complex) are cryptic, we used molecular markers to identify them. Three marsh frog species (P. ridibundus, P. kurtmuelleri and P. cf. bedriagae) inhabit the northern part of Western Palearctic. We created a database of localities and built models of their modern distribution. These models showed that the most suitable habitats are on the north of the Mediterranean region for P. cf. bedriagae, temperate Europe for P. ridibundus, and the

The shi drum Umbrina cirrosa is a rare poorly studied fish species in the Black Sea. The largest individual for this water area was recorded off the coast of the Crimea; a male, whose total length was 784 mm, standard length 706 mm, body weight 5515.2 g, age 4 years; gonads of the maturity stage III had a weight of 33.11 g. Mollusks Solen marginatus and Abra segmentum, polychaete of the family Scalibregmatidae, and the jaguar round crab Xantho poressa were found in the diet composition.
