Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Background Inappropriate antibiotic (AB) use for viral respiratory illnesses remains widespread in the United States (US) with strong seasonal fluctuations. In contrast to outpatient AB use, the seasonality inpatient AB utilization (IAU) and its correlation with the influenza season are not well understood. We sought to describe trends, seasonality, and the association between IAU use and the 2015-2019 influenza seasons. Methods We used the BD Insights Research Database (Franklin Lakes, NJ USA) to identify IAU that were prescribed in patients >17 years old from up to 236 US acute care facilities from July 2015 to December 2019. We included the following AB categories: extended spectrum cephalosporins (ESCs), macrolides, β-lactam inhibitor combination (BLIC), fluoroquinolones, carbapenems, glycopeptides, lipopeptide, tetracyclines, and others. We defined IAU use as days of therapy (DOT) per 1000 patient days present. We used influenza laboratory data to identify facility-level positivity ratio per 100 tests. We used random effect models to estimate IAU: 1) trends overtime, 2) seasonality, and 3) association with influenza positivity rate. Results For IAU from 2015 to 2019, BLICs, ESCs, and glycopeptides were the most used [average 91, 107, and 96 DOT/1000 days presents, respectively]. Visually, we observed strong seasonality that matches the influenza season for macrolide, ESC, and quinolone use (See Figure). Unadjusted bivariate results showed ascending trends over time for BLICs [β= 3.8, p= .003], ESCs [β= 11.0, p= .005], and macrolides [β=1.5, p= .005]. Unadjusted bivariate results showed descending trends with quinolones [β= -10.9, p< .001] and others [β= -2.060, p< .001]. In the adjusted analysis, increased influenza positivity rate was associated with use of ESCs, glycopeptides, lipopeptides, macrolides, fluoroquinolone, and tetracyclines (see Table). No correlation was observed with BLICs, carbapenems, lipopeptides, and Others. IAU (DOT/1000 days presents) and Flu Rate (% Positive) Trends Over Time Conclusion Our study shows that IAU is on the rise for the ESC and BLIC classes. ESC and macrolide use was strongly correlated with influenza season. Monitoring influenza signals may provide more insights that can inform the interpretation of IAU trends and be incorporated into antimicrobial stewardship programs. Abstract:
The estrogen receptor 1(ESR1) and fork-head box L2 (FOX L2) genes play a pivotal role in regulation of egg formation in poultry. this study aimed to investigate interaction between ESR1 and FOXL2 in the productive performance of brown local Iraqi chickens (BLIC). A total of 104 BLIC represented from the F4th generation of local chicken selected for high egg productions were used. Two novel single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs), one of them in ESR1 (T57198C) intron 3, and another of FOX L2 (C919T) gene within encoding region were identified through PCR-DNA sequencing. Six haplotypes (H1=TTCC, H2=TTCT, H3=TCCC, H4=TCCT, H5=CCCC, H6=CCCT) were obtained due to interaction between these two SNPs. Chi-square analysis showed no significant in genotypic and allelic frequencies for each SNP which revealed that both genes were agreement with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Association analysis of haplotypes with production traits revealed that individuals have H4 genotype achieved higher body weight at sexual maturity, at 60 weeks of age and egg weight at 45 and 60 weeks of age, whereas, the higher number of eggs were exhibited in individual with H6 from onset egg till 60 weeks of age. The two haplotypes; H4(TCCT) and H6(CCCT) showed better combination than others with respect to production performance. In conclusion, our findings provided new evidence that the two genes (ESR1 and FOXLl2) with special interaction may have potential effects on productive traits of chickens and beneficial effects in laying breeding programs.

Abstract:
Low social awareness of disability issues maintains discriminatory attitudes in society and does not contribute to improving the position of persons with disabilities. The media play a significant role in this because they produce new or reproduce existing meanings through representation. The media represent different identities and act as a forum for the social construction of reality, they construct and reproduce the social definition of disability. A highly discriminatory society is the main reason for the difficult life of people with disabilities, but objective media coverage of the topic of disability and persons with disabilities can improve this situation. Such reporting would contribute to changing the stereotypical attitudes towards which a person with a disability is viewed as one who needs help and pity, without considering physical and cultural barriers created in society. If living conditions were adapted to people with disabilities to the extent that they were adapted to all other persons, the quality of life of persons with disabilities would be significantly improved. In the research conducted for the purposes of this paper, we came to the conclusion that print media in Serbia do not devote sufficient space to the topic of disability, and generally report stereotypically.

Public relations is involved in all communication between an organization and the pu-blic. In the contemporary world, PR practitioners have become the facilitators of information. Information and communication technology (ICT) have imposed new rules in the fi eld of public relations. Communication strategy and information management have become crucial parts of modern public relations. People change their habits with regard to the consumption of traditional and new media. The challenges imposed by the development of information and communication technology are also related to understanding the new information so-ciety. For that reason information ethics deals with the ethical implications of dissemination, use, development and safety of information. Public relations follow new information and communication trends, and they need to build fi rm ethical principles for the age of informa-tion. Abstract:
The Tokyo 2021 Olympics are declared the first gender-equal games because almost 49% of the nearly 11,000 athletes in Tokyo were women, which is why they are very important for the analysis from the gender perspective. This paper aims to determine how much and in what way female athletes were represented in the media. The research is based on the hypothesis that female athletes are underrepresented compared to male athletes and that most media content about female athletes contains gender stereotypes. Quantitative and qualitative content analysis were applied. The corpus of research consists of a total of 730 articles published on the Serbian digital media "Blic Online". The authors conclude that only 30 percent of media space is dedicated to female athletes. The research also shows that 40 percent of articles about female athletes contain gender stereotypes or are not related to sports and professional results of female athletes. Despite the progress achieved in the Olympic Games' gender policy, the media image does not reflect it.

Abstract The estrogen receptor 1(ESR1) and estrogen receptor 2 (ESR2) plays a crucial role in the growth and development of follicles and ovulation in chickens. Fork-head box L2 (FOX L2) gene and its protein is active in several tissues, such as the ovaries, it has a pivotal role in ovarian development and function, like regulation of egg formation in poultry. This study aimed to detect the polymorphism of ESR1, ESR2 and, FOXL2 genes and investigate interaction between ESR1 and FOXL2 in the productive performance of brown local Iraqi chickens (BLIC). A total of 104 BLIC, at 17 weeks of age. Four novel single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs). Every polymorphism a number had been given according to its location within gene, one of them in ESR1 (T57198C) intron 3 with three genotypes: Wild(TT), Heterozygous(TC),and Homozygous(CC), and two SNPs within ESR2 were assessed, one of the identified SNPsT39565C transition located within intron 7 with two alleles(T and C)and three genotypes were found: Wild(TT), Heterozygous(TC),and Homozygous(CC), another SNPG40100A transition within (3 prime UTR), with two alleles (G and A)and three genotypes were found: Wild(GG), Heterozygous(GA)and Homozygous(AA) and the SNP in FOXL2 (C919T) gene with two genotypes: Wild(CC) and Heterozygous(CT) within encoding region were identified through PCR-DNA sequencing. Abstract:
This article examines the media coverage of violence against women in the family and in an intimate partner relationship in Serbia. The goal of this article is to point to the potential that implementing the relevant state policies might have on the quality of the media coverage, by analysing the effects of state policies on the media coverage of violence against women in the family and in an intimate partner relationship. This study utilizes quantitative content analysis and qualitative framing analysis on a sample of 330 articles of Serbian daily newspapers Blic, Kurir and Politika in two time periods (three months in 2006 and three months in 2013). The results of the quantitative content analysis show a significant increase in the number of articles containing information on statistics, services for victims and expert sources. Qualitative framing analysis points to the conclusion that the nature of the media frame has not meaningfully changed. Namely, under the pressure of editors, journalists continue with framing violence against women in a stereotyped fashion which reflects the suppressed position of women in the Serbian society.

Abstract:
By taking a cognitive-linguistic approach to metaphor, in this paper we deal with the abstract concept IDEA and the way it is understood and experienced in contemporary Serbian language. The research is aimed at determining some of the possible source domains that allow us to conceptualize the aforementioned concept. The corpus consists of sentences, found in Serbian daily papers Politika and Blic, which illustrate the identified metaphors. The analysis shows that this target domain can be understood in terms of various different source domains. We have decided to confine our attention to seven conceptual metaphors that allow us to comprehend different aspects of the concept IDEA. Namely, the results of the research show that ideas can be structured by the following metaphors: IDEAS ARE LIVING BEINGS, IDEAS ARE TOYS, IDEAS ARE FOOD, IDEAS ARE FORCE, IDEAS ARE RESOURCES, IDEAS ARE VALUABLE COMMODITIES and IDEAS ARE WEAPONS. We shall begin by identifying the linguistic expressions so as to explain the underlying similarities between the domains present in the metaphors stated above.

Abstract:
This paper represents a critical analysis of the COVID-19 discourse in Serbian daily newspapers Blic and Politika. The aim of the research is to study two themati- cally related articles so as to observe ideological, political and social circumstances that influenced their writing. The articles were analyzed qualitatively at the level of micro- and macrostructure (Van Dijk 1988). It is concluded that, using different strategies, both ar- ticles may contribute to the spread of panic caused by COVID-19. However, the second article contains the elements which romantically glorify the skillfulness of Serbian experts. This might result in comforting people during these turbulent times. To conclude, newspa- per articles are particularly suitable for spreading ideologies, especially when taking into consideration the importance of the media in the formation of public opinion. Therefore, newspaper articles need to be deconstructed from the linguistic point of view, and then critically analysed in relation to wider social practices. The results refer exclusively to the analyzed corpus, thus further research is needed in order to consider the observed tenden- cies a rule.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Background Novel therapies for multidrug-resistant TB are needed and new BLIs could answer this call. Mtb encodes for BlaC, a class A β-lactamase. BlaC is inhibited by clavulanate (CLA) while the DBO avibactam (AVI) is an inefficient inhibitor (low k2/K value). Carbapenems are hydrolyzed slowly by BlaC (low kcat/Km value) making them “dual action” compounds that inhibit both BlaC and PG transpeptidases, the intended β-lactam targets. DBOs inhibit PG transpeptidases in other bacteria. To explore the therapeutic potential of new DBOs against Mtb, we compared the inhibitor activity of AVI, relebactam (REL), and durlobactam (DUR, formerly ETX2514) against BlaC and Mtb PG transpeptidases using a biochemical approach. We also investigated the ability of DUR to lower minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of β-lactams against Mtb H37Rv. Methods Mass spectrometry was performed to capture acyl-enzyme complexes (AECs) of purified BlaC and PG transpeptidases (PonA1, LdtMt1, LdtMt2, LdtMt3, and LdtMt5) with β-lactams and BLIs. Steady-state enzyme kinetics were determined using nitrocefin as a substrate. MICs with amoxicillin (AMX), meropenem (MER), CLA, and DUR alone and in combination against Mtb H37Rv were assessed using a microdilution method. Results DUR alone had a MIC of 2 µg/mL with Mtb H37Rv (Table 1). BlaC formed AECs with all carbapenems and BLIs. BlaC had lower Ki app and higher k2/K with DUR than those with AVI and REL and comparable to those with CLA; however, with a period of pre-incubation, AVI fully inhibits BlaC (Table 2). The carbapenems and DUR formed the most AECs with PG transpeptidases of the β-lactams and BLIs respectively; PG transpeptidases had lower Ki app values with DUR than those with AVI (Table 3). Table 1. Minimum Inhibitory Concetrations for Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv Conclusion DUR alone has some antimicrobial activity against Mtb H37Rv. The likely mechanism that underlies this activity is inhibition of BlaC and several PG transpeptidases. Inhibition of enzyme targets with DUR was more potent and efficient than AVI and REL. DUR in combination with β-lactams lowered MICs but the DUR concentration used was higher than its MIC. Our findings support the exploration of novel BLIs against BlaC and PG transpeptidases with the ultimate goal of repurposing these drugs for the treatment of TB. Disclosures Robert A. Abstract:
The paper is an attempt to assess the exposure of two distinct approaches to reproductive behavior - the claims for reproductive rights and freedoms, and the pro-natalist population policy - in the press media in Serbia after 2000. The first approach is grounded on the principle of self-determination in respect to reproductive behavior, whereas the second attempts to modify reproductive behavior so that a higher goal of the survival of Serbian nation is achieved. The two approaches have clear and contradictory policy implications. In the first part of the paper two discourses are constructed based on relevant declarations and other publications by the proponents of the two discourses. In the second part, by the means of a descriptive quantitative analysis, we assess the frequency and the coherence of the discourses in the articles published in Blic, Kurir, Vreme and Nin. The questions we attempt to answer are: To what extent interested pressure groups get to place the elements of their agendas in the press? To what extent these groups manage to frame public discussions and to dominate the instances of media coverage with their own imagery and rhetoric? .

Abstract:
The media play an important role in constructing public opinion on certain personas, topics and events. If they propagate stereotypes about men and women in news texts and articles, that can negatively impact the public opinion about violence against women. Although there are rare cases of the media trying to raise awareness of the problem of domestic violence and violence against women in general, the media mostly reports only on actual cases of violence when they occur. It is mostly reported in a sensationalistic way, which brings additional harm to the victims. In this paper, we researched in what way the news stories of raped actresses Milena Radulović and Danijela Štajnfeld were covered, i.e., how tabloids (Alo, Blic, Informer, Kurir, Srpski telegraf and Večernje novosti) reported on these cases on their front pages. By analyzing six daily newspapers (in the period from January 17 to February 2, 2021, and from March 23 to March 31, 2021), we found that the majority of these articles had been written in a sensationalist way, without respect for professional journalistic standards. Driven by the desire for greater circulation and profit, today’s journalists of (semi)tabloid newspapers often turn a deaf ear to ethical norms, which every journalist should adhere to when performing his or her profession.

Abstract:
In a contemporary and digital society we have been witnessing frequent changes and everything has become a commodity, even a piece of information. Whether it is news in the media or an opinion written on social media, information is transformed into a product that has its own price, consumers and market. Since the occurrence of the mass media, numerous communication theories have been emerging which try to interpret how content affects the construction of behavior, what type of message produces certain effects and what are the long-term consequences for the society? Applying the quantitative and qualitative content analysis of the front pages of the six daily newspapers in Serbia (Informer, Večernje novosti, Blic, Kurir, Danas and Alo) between January 17 and February 1, 2021 we investigated the characteristics of the models and narratives used in presenting the case of the well-known Serbian director and acting teacher, Miroslav Mika Aleksić, who has been accused of sexually abusing female students. Using the theory of the agenda, the framework theory, as well as the hypodermic needle model, we will try to provide an answer to the question – whether and to what extent we can “defend” ourselves from media opinions which keep “bombing” us every day and can the media “reach a verdict” before legal institutions.

Abstract:
One’s attention is directed to the events, phenomena, personalities and social groups present in the media. How they are perceived depends on media presentation and representation, which implies media representations of events, phenomena, identities, social groups. Through them, the media can shape public opinion, refer to or restrict stereotypical and discriminatory attitudes in society. One of the fundamental conditions for combating discrimination is equal participation of women in the media world, i.e. the equal presence of women and men in the media. The paper investigates the presence of women in the following daily newspapers: Politika, Danas, Blic, and Večernje novosti on International Women’s Day, with special reference to the method of reporting on this holiday. The theoretical part of the paper includes a chapter on the social status of women throughout history, outlining some of the factors for the inferior position of women that contributed to the creation of stereotypes about women. Then, attention is paid to stereotypes about women, dominant patterns of reporting on women in the media, as well as the importance of the holiday and its historical origin. The interpretation of previous research in published scientific papers can also be found in the theoretical part. The second part of the paper includes the quantitative and qualitative research results. Finally, the results are summarized, which leads to the conclusion.

Abstract:
556 Background: Genomically basal-type breast cancer is a heterogenous subtype that occurs at higher frequencies in non-Caucasian patients. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) has been refined into distinct transcriptomic groups including the basal-like immunoactive (BLIA), basal-like immunosuppressed (BLIS), luminal androgen receptor (LAR), and mesenchymal (MES) subtypes. Here we report the distribution of triple negative subtypes in genomically basal cancers from Caucasian (CA), African American (AA), and Latin American (LA) patients and the association of clinical estrogen receptor (ER) status. Methods: The FLEX Registry (NCT03053193) is an ongoing, prospective study evaluating primary tumors from patients with stage I-III breast cancer who receive the 70-gene signature and 80-gene signature (80-GS) molecular testing and consent to clinically annotated full transcriptome data collection. This sub-analysis evaluated 143 80-GS Basal type tumors from patients with self-reported ethnicity (60 CA, 59 AA, 24 LA). TNBC subtypes BLIA, BLIS, LAR, and MES were derived using an adjusted version of the 80-gene centroid signature published by Burstein and colleagues (2015). Differences in clinical ER expression between ethnicities were assessed by Fisher’s exact test. Results: Basal indices from 80-GS were not influenced by patient ethnicity (one-way ANOVA, p = 0.182). The frequency of BLIA, BLIS, LAR, and MES subtypes did not vary significantly by ethnicity (Fisher’s exact test, p = 0.671). The majority of tumors in all ethnic groups were BLIS (67% CA, 75% AA, 63% LA), followed by BLIA (22% CA, 22% AA, 25% LA), with low frequency of LAR (5% CA, 1.7% AA, 8.3% LA) and MES (5% CA, 1.7% AA, 4.2% LA) subtypes. Nearly one third (31%) of Basal type tumors were defined by IHC as ER positive and were present in all TNBC subtypes (39% BLIA, 29% BLIS, 33% LAR, and 20% MES); ER receptor expression ranged from 1-90% and was not associated with specific basal subtype (p = 0.8) nor ethnicity (P = 0.76). Progesterone receptor expression ranged from 1-50%. Conclusions: This analysis demonstrated that genomic Basal type tumor classification by 80-GS encompasses all TNBC subtypes evaluated regardless of ethnicity. Additionally, we show that IHC ER positive tumors occur in all TNBC subtypes assessed. These findings confirm the heterogeneous nature of basal breast tumors in CA, AA, and LA patients and highlight the clinical need to delineate basal biology in the ER+ cohort to advance treatment for basal-like tumors. Abstract:
The feuilleton is one of the most specific and oldest genres in journalism, but also one of the least analyzed and defined. Often appropriated as a literary genre in journalism, it has changed its form, style and content throughout history in order to adapt to the current circumstances in the media world. In keeping with the contemporary development of digital platforms, online journalism and sensational, fast-paced reporting, its specifics and peculiarities bring new challenges. The aim of the paper is to note the use, specifics, topics and the position of this genre through the analysis of feuilletons in the serious, semitabloid and tabloid daily press in Serbia. Additionally, the goal is to observe potential differences in relation to the type of press, but also the ways in which this newspaper genre is implemented in online newspaper portals. In accordance with these goals, the method of descriptive and comparative content analysis as well as the statistical method were used in the paper. The research was conducted on four daily newspapers, Danas, Politika, Večernje novosti and Blic, in the period from January 24, 2020 to January 30,2020. Twenty seven issues of these newspapers were analyzed, including 2,230 media texts, 30 of which were feuilletons. Research has shown that this genre is more common in serious than in semi-tabloid and tabloid press, that the most common topic covered through this genre is politics and that there are significant differences between the same feuilletons in printed newspapers in comparison to online editions.

Abstract:
Issues of government support for agricultural sector, types of subsidies and procedure for their distribution are considered, as well as the role of subsidies in the development of agroindustrial complex of Kazakhstan. The goal is to develop theoretical and practical provisions for improving organizational and economic mechanism for financing agriculture in the Zhambyl region by the State. Methods – comparative, logical, statistical, analysis of structure and dyna-mics, tabular and graphical interpretation of information. Results – based on the analysis of the state of the main branches of agro-industrial complex, assessment of State assistance measures, factors hindering the growth in the volume of products produced by agricultural producers of the repu blic (concentration of production in households; unsatisfactory quality of raw materials; seasonal ity, low level of investment incentives; insufficient scientific and technical support). Conclusions – taking into account the existing problems of the small-scale nature of agro-industrial production, the need for cooperation of small forms of management is substantiated in order to bring together the efforts of all economic entities in one commodity flow, the availability of marketing agricultural products, providing consumers with quality goods, while large and small producers will have equal conditions for increasing their own, joint and State income. The article identifies such priority areas as the possibility of creating retail outlets in the markets and in trading houses for domestic food products, organization of scientific and industrial schools in order to improve the competence of individual entrepreneurs in agribusiness. The authors note that State regulation and support of agricultural economy is one of the strategic goals of the policy of effective protectionism and ensuring free competition in the agri-food market.

Abstract:
Abstract Background MV is a newly approved β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combination (BLIC) for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI). Vaborbactam is a cyclic boronic acid BLI that was mainly developed as a potent inhibitor of KPC carbapenemases and other Ambler class A&C enzymes. Vaborbactam is inactive against metallo-β-lactamases (MBL) and certain Class D enzymes (e.g. OXA-2 and OXA-48). We encountered a case of MV-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (MVRKP)and sought to explore the various mechanisms of MV resistance within KP. Methods A 65-year-old nursing home resident with multiple prior hospitalizations and recent exposure to antibiotics (Timeline) developed sepsis secondary to carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) cUTI. WGS of the patient’s isolate was performed. This was followed by random screening for MV resistance and WGS of other isolates from a historical database. Results Results of WGS are seen in the table below. Sequencing of our patient’s isolate revealed strain ST258 with a premature stop in aa89 of OmpK35 as well as insertions at Gly134 and Asp135 (i.e., the GD repeat) of OmpK36. Furthermore, the KPC plasmid’s copy number was approximately five times higher than the chromosome. No mutations encoding efflux system AcrAB-TolC were found. Conclusion Resistance to MV in KP was found in isolates that predate the drug’s availability. Notably, resistance occurred in the absence of MBLs and OXAs. The mechanism seems to involve outer membrane porin mutations in OmpK35 and/or OmpK36. WGS is a useful tool in identifying the mechanism of resistance especially for newer agents. Abstract:
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) lacks well-defined molecular targets and is highly heterogenous, making treatment challenging. Using gene expression analysis, TNBC has been classified into four different subtypes: basal-like immune-activated (BLIA), basal-like immune-suppressed (BLIS), mesenchymal (MES), and luminal androgen receptor (LAR). However, there is currently no standardized method for classifying TNBC subtypes. We attempted to define a gene signature for each subtype, and to develop a classification method based on machine learning (ML) for TNBC subtyping. In these experiments, gene expression microarray data for TNBC patients were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. Differentially expressed genes unique to 198 known TNBC cases were identified and selected as a training gene set to train in seven different classification models. We produced a training set consisting of 719 DEGs selected from uniquely expressed genes of all four subtypes. The highest average accuracy of classification of the BLIA, BLIS, MES, and LAR subtypes was achieved by the SVM algorithm (accuracy 95–98.8%; AUC 0.99–1.00). For model validation, we used 334 samples of unknown TNBC subtypes, of which 97 (29.04%), 73 (21.86%), 39 (11.68%) and 59 (17.66%) were predicted to be BLIA, BLIS, MES, and LAR, respectively. However, 66 TNBC samples (19.76%) could not be assigned to any subtype. These samples contained only three upregulated genes (EN1, PROM1, and CCL2). Each TNBC subtype had a unique gene expression pattern, which was confirmed by identification of DEGs and pathway analysis. These results indicated that our training gene set was suitable for development of classification models, and that the SVM algorithm could classify TNBC into four unique subtypes. Accurate and consistent classification of the TNBC subtypes is essential for personalized treatment and prognosis of TNBC.

Abstract:
The growing popularity of social media platforms, especially YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, has enabled online influencers to appear in addition to previously known celebrities, representing a new global phenomenon and new role models for young people. Biran and his associates in the paper “Detecting influencers in written online conversations” state that influencers are the participants in online communication who have credibility in the group, who persevere in order to convince others and who introduce ideas that others accept or support (Biran et al., 2012: 38-39). Research on journalistic sources, especially research on content created by influencers on social media services, is a significant contribution to research in the field of media pluralism. Research on social network platforms as a source of information in Serbian literature is rare, which contributes to the significance of this research. The purposes of the research are to determine whether the content created and published by influencers on social network platforms in Serbia is a source of information for online editions of Serbian daily newspapers, the type of content in question, as well as whether the media gain new audiences that follow influencers. Qualitative-quantitative content analysis and web surveys were used for the research. Based on the qualitative-quantitative analysis of domestic daily newspapers (Danas, Politika, Večernje novosti, Blic, Kurir, Alo, Telegraf, Informer), we can conclude that the media use the profile content that influencers publish on social network sites as a source for texts which are soft news. According to the web survey in which 175 respondents participated, we can conclude that texts about influencers in the media are followed by 38 respondents and that the media are gaining new audiences who follow influencers on social network sites.

Abstract:
Research on sufism and female spirituality has centered on framing narratives of sufi women within individualized practices, constructing thereby sufi women as mere individual and assisting players in historical accounts of more famous male scholars. In recent years, academic interest has geared towards the investigation of sufi women’s collective and ritualistic performance within structured sufi circles. Henceforth, this paper explores ways in which the gathering of sufi women of Boutchichiyya, a Morocco-based sufi order, in a zawiya mediates not only ritual performances but also promotes the rehearsal of sociability and social relations. The point is made that within a horizon that is viewed as a nexus where the ritualistic performance is what matters in a zawiya, sufi women’s gathering is characterized by a sense of community, and interconnections between spiritual, social capital and socialization. In this pri-blic (private and public) space, namely the zawiya, sufi women of Boutchichiyya enjoy privacy and communal life. Knowing that the zawiya is a segregated space, since men and women disciples perform rituals separately, one might surmise that the spatial division sparks gender inequality. However, this spatial segregation is an ideal of emancipation, which subsumes a spatial segregation of rituals, and constructs a realm of privacy, intimacy, and fervent ambiance women aspire to. This paper builds on findings of a qualitative ethnographic research, in which the researcher assumed a participant-observer role to generate a more focused discussion on whether the gender division of space highlights women’s spirituality or undermines it. More precisely, this paper approaches the interactive relationship, which engages women’s sufi experience with prevalent spatial politics in Moroccan society. In such a space where women come to learn and imbibe spiritual knowledge, social relationships are important assets for women’s spiritual, social, and personal growth.

Abstract:
Critical thinking is the process by which people make decisions about what to trust and what to do. Many undergraduate courses, such as those in biology and physics, include critical thinking as an important learning goal. Assessing critical thinking, however, is non-trivial, with mixed recommendations for how to assess critical thinking as part of instruction. Here we evaluate the efficacy of assessment questions to probe students’ critical thinking skills in the context of biology and physics. We use two research-based standardized critical thinking instruments known as the Biology Lab Inventory of Critical Thinking in Ecology (Eco-BLIC) and Physics Lab Inventory of Critical Thinking (PLIC). These instruments provide experimental scenarios and pose questions asking students to evaluate what to trust and what to do regarding the quality of experimental designs and data. Using more than 3000 student responses from over 20 institutions, we sought to understand what features of the assessment questions elicit student critical thinking. Specifically, we investigated (a) how students critically evaluate aspects of research studies in biology and physics when they are individually evaluating one study at a time versus comparing and contrasting two and (b) whether individual evaluation questions are needed to encourage students to engage in critical thinking when comparing and contrasting. We found that students are more critical when making comparisons between two studies than when evaluating each study individually. Also, compare-and-contrast questions are sufficient for eliciting critical thinking, with students providing similar answers regardless of if the individual evaluation questions are included. This research offers new insight on the types of assessment questions that elicit critical thinking at the introductory undergraduate level; specifically, we recommend instructors incorporate more compare-and-contrast questions related to experimental design in their courses and assessments.

Abstract:
The reality TV concept has a dominant role in some commercial television stations with national frequency in Serbia. The tabloids, known for sensationalism, banalisation and domination in the press market, became their ?extended hand?, the promoters of their values. The focus of this article is on daily newspapers in Serbia - the various reality TV-related content on their front pages. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, the authors look for the principles, the communication technology and the goals for which the domestic press promotes ?the reality values?. They have analyzed front pages of eight daily newspapers in Serbia (Politika, Danas, Vecernje novosti, Blic, Kurir, Alo, Srpski Telegraf and Informer) that were published during October 2018 and found related content on about 28 percent from the total number of front pages (counting the current reality TV formats and the reality TV stars from the earlier seasons). The results show a clear distinction between the serious press and the tabloids. The tabloids are very strong accomplices in the process of diverting public attention from important topics to trivia (in that context, for researching, the authors use agenda-setting theory, framing theory and similar concepts). If we look at five declared tabloids only, the share of front pages with related content in the total number of front pages is about 44 percent. The research identified another phenomenon - fabricating some other topics into a ?reality concept?. Also, by comparison with previous studies, it was shown that the aforementioned is not an isolated case in the selected period - it is a continuous occurrence. Reality content as we see it on the domestic scene is becoming more trivial from season to season and becoming more dangerous for the power of rational reasoning by their users and observers. Based on all of that, this content can be viewed through the meaning of consciousness reconstruction.

Abstract:
Istraživanje obuhvata analizu paradržavnog modela „samoupravljanja u kulturi” Socijalističke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije (SFRJ) i državnog modela „blokirane tranzicije” sa varijacijama u periodu Savezne Republike Jugoslavije (SRJ) i Republike Srbije (RS).

Abstract:
The paper discusses the contemporary features of stereotypes in media content, with special emphasis on practice and the consequences of stereotyping vulnerable social groups. Particular attention is paid to reviewing the prevalence and modalities of gender, racial, and ethnic stereotypes in Serbian mass media, as well as the consequences of social stereotyping affecting women, minority ethnic groups, people with mental disorders, and members of other vulnerable social groups, including their increased exposure to social marginalization, discrimination, violence, and secondary victimization. The content analysis of electronic editions of three dailies in Serbia of different newspaper format and editorial approach (Politika, Blic, and Kurir), published within the period from January 10 to February 7, 2021, was conducted to gain a closer insight into current representation, forms and other features of media stereotyping of various vulnerable social groups. The obtained findings confirm the initial assumption that stereotypes, especially gender, as well as those directed at minority ethnic groups, are expressed and routinely represented in electronic media content available to the general public, in which these groupsare continuously presented in a very narrow repertoire of social roles, primarily by tabloid dailies Additional content analysis of electronic editions of dailies in Serbia over the past five years features stereotypical portrayal of Roma, and persons with mental health disorders as categories of citizens who are predominantly represented in negative content in the media, with the absence of analytical texts and content dealing with the social background of the circumstances in which they find themselves. Furthermore, no attention is paid to their social needs, which contributes to the strengthening of stereotypes, intolerance, insensitivity, or irrational fear of members of certain vulnerable social groups. In conclusion, the importance of the role of today's mass media in maintaining, but also in deconstructing negative social stereotypes, that is, humanization of modern cultural and social space and denormalization of violence directed at vulnerable groups based on prejudice, isemphasized.

Abstract:
The purpose of the paper is to analyse the obstacles to implementing social responsibility initiatives in small and medium-size business firms. The implementing fields and the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in small and medium-size business firms are stressed in the paper. The current situation of CSR in Lithuanian small and medium-size firms is presented. The research data allowed discovering that the main obstacle to implement social responsibility in the small and medium-size firms is the managers’ attitude that social responsibility is a matter of great concern only to large companies. 43% of respondents indicated this obstacle. On the other hand, the research data allowed finding out that in our turbulent environment social responsibility in small and medium-size business firms is not a random phenomenon (71 %), and it is constant concern to managers, which provides for the budget (54 %). The understanding that social responsibility initiatives are only charity or philanthropy is also declined, only 5% of the respondents think so, however, 32 % of firms are supporting charitable initiatives. The most stimulating factors in the implementation of CSR are: staff loyalty and job satisfaction, a better image of the company, long-term competitiveness of the business advantage, the increased consumers requirements. Socially responsible behaviour disincentives are: the lack of human resour-ces (51 %), lack of information about gain from socially responsible activities (50 %), lack of financial resources (28 %). Both theory and practice agree that the implementation of CSR issues is most dependent on the leader’s attitude. The managers of small and medium-size business firms mostly are coordinating the implementation of CSR initiatives (70% of respondents). The results of the empirical research of CSR initiatives implementation in business prac-tices were presented in the possible model of tools which stimulates social responsibility initiatives in small and medium-size business firms. This integrated model includes pu-blic, government and business efforts and interests: 1) improvement of public policy, 2) revitalization of public organizations; 3) encourage and support research, 4) integration of CSR into education, 5) singleness of purpose (depending on companies’ specifics), 6) increase of managers’ consciousness, 7) implementation of a step-by-step approach.

Abstract:
Introduction. The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on macroeconomic dynamics and the state of external public debt are analised. The main reasons for the growth of the State Budget deficit of Ukraine are identified and the need to increase the efficiency of the external public debt management policy in the context of minimizing the budget deficit is proved. Emphasis is placed on the situational and imbalance of Ukraine’s external public debt management policy, which is due to the lack of the Economic Development Strategy of Ukraine and the Government’s program of activities for 2020. It is substantiated that the lack of clear strategic goals of economic development of the state and adherence to such a strategy has led to an increase in the cost of servicing external pu blic debt, increasing the cost of attracting it and reducing the maturity. It is also proved that the lack of strategy together with the low level of fiscal, debt and monetary policy coherence are the main reasons for inefficient conversion of external public debt, as the main amounts of external government borrowing are not used to finance economic development, but to finance state budget expenditures and to repay old debts. The purpose of to the article is to study the theoretical and practical aspects of debt policy in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to justify a new paradigm of Ukraine’s external public debt management policy. Results. Based on the analysis of major macroeconomic trends in Ukraine and identifying external debt problems, the latest paradigm of external public debt management policy is proposed, the essence of which is to subordinate debt policy to tactical and strategic goals of the national economy budget, debt and monetary policy, as well as in achieving effective conversion of external government borrowing to stimulate economic development. It is proposed to use a program-targeted method of external public debt management policy, which involves raising funds from international organizations exclusively to finance specific government programs. Perspectives. It is necessary to increase the efficiency of conversion of external government loans to finance capital investments from the State budget, which will use the foreign debt potential to stimulate Ukraine’s economic development.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a new type of linear motor based on the concept of variable flux reluctance motor (VFRM). By adopting segmented primary stator, the segmented linear VFRM (SLVFRM) can eliminate asymmetry between phases due to end-effect. Meanwhile, multi-phase SLVFRM of any number of phases can be obtained by adjusting number of segments directly. The stator/mover tooth pitch combination and segments arrangement rules are also illustrated. An optimized 3-phase SLVFRM is analyzed by finite element analysis, with focus on characteristics such as cogging force, back-EMF and winding inductances. Further, both brushless AC (BLAC) and brushless DC (BLDC) drive for SLVFRM are investigated. Besides much smaller force ripple, BLDC drive can obtain higher average force at same RMS current due to trapezoidal back-EMF. The force characteristicwith variousAC and DC currents and current angles are also investigated in the paper, and it shows that SLVFRM has negligible reluctance force while keeping the same AC and DC currents is optimal for maximum efficiency operation under a fixed copper loss.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this paper, a new design configuration has been proposed in which a prototype of resonant inductive power transfer-based contactless power transfer to wound rotor has been developed which provides field power to brushless alternating current (BLAC) or brushless direct current (BLDC) motors without the use of permanent magnets in the rotor. Further, wound field in the rotor of DC motor can be powered without carbon brushes. The proposed design facilitates motor performance improvement by adding an extra dimension of field flux control, while the armature circuit is conventionally fed from position detection and commutation schemes. It contains a primary multilayer concentrated coil fed with high-frequency resonating AC supply or switched mode supply. A single layer helical secondary coil coaxially fixed on the shaft receives high frequency wireless AC power transmitted from primary coil. Fast rectifier inside the hollow shaft and DC filter provides the transferred DC power to field terminals in the rotor. It has been verified that rotor power can be varied linearly with linear variation in input DC power with the highest efficiency at the resonant frequency. Available power to the rotor remains invariable with rotational speed and angle, which is a necessary requirement for rotor field. DC voltage on the rotor terminals can be effectively controlled during standstill as well as during rotation at any speed.

Abstract:
The subject of this paper were anglicisms in current sports texts in the daily newspapers in Serbian, and the aim was to carry out the descriptive analysis of the forms and stylistic features of these lexical units in order to find out the contemporary trends in the field of anglicization of Serbian sports language and Serbian language in general. The corpus con- sisted of the sports newspapers Sportski žurnal, and the daily newspapers: Politika, Euro Blic, Večernje novosti, Informer, Kurir, Nova, Danas, which were published in the period from June to September 2021. The theoretical background included Prćić (2005) who defined ortographic, grammatical and pragmatical level of lexical anglicization and classified anglicisms into three groups: obvious anglicisms, hidden anglicisms and lexical units in the original English form, and Milić (2011) who classified anglicisms as stylistic synonyms in daily newspapers into five groups: trendy anglicisms, advertisement anglicisms, associative anglicisms, metaphorical angli- cisms, ironic anglicisms and inertial anglicisms. Our analysis showed that the forms of lexical anglicization described in the previous linguistic studies, which we relied on in this research, are still frequently used in the Serbian language. We came to the conclusion that in the selected corpus of printed sports texts in daily newspapers, apart from the terminological anglicisms that represent an indispensable part of the vocabulary within sports texts, the remaining language forms taken from the English language turn out as synonyms, mainly in the form of obvious inertial and metaphorical anglicisms. The example of hidden anglicism is a frequently used ’noun + noun’ construction as a form of noun phrase which is not in line with the Serbian language norm. Some word forms – compoundings and acronyms – indicate that within the use of lexical anglicisms in sports texts in daily newspapers there are certain deviations from the orthographic norm of the Serbian language. Although the analysis of anglicisms in such a selected corpus could not show all the forms of English influence in Serbian that we would have discovered by examining a different language corpus, this research revealed which forms of lexical angliciza- tion are currently most infiltrated into the language of sports daily newspapers in the Serbian language, which indicates possible tendencies of anglicization of the language of sports and the Serbian language in general in the following years.
