The purpose of this paper is to find a method to study the lubrication character of the main bearings and load condition of the crankshaft about the marine two-stroke diesel engine. Based on the finite element method, multi-body dynamics, elastohydrodynamic and Green-Tripp theory about contact, the simulation of coupling between the elastic crankshaft and engine block is carried out. The load of main bearings, the minimum of oil film thick, orbital path of journal, average of asperity contact pressure are explored. The results indicate that the lubrication is good except No.2 main bearing. Par

When detecting faults in main bearings of the cylinder block, it is important to minimize detection errors that could result in the part being incorrectly accepted or incorrectly rejected. Incorrect rejection of a cylinder block main bearing to the left and right of the tolerance limit will result in the need to replace the cylinder block. Incorrect acceptance of the support according to the smallest size may result in a loose cap-to-support fit and possible breakage. Variable displacement swash plate pumps are invariably used under conditions that involve heavy loads with variable flow demands. Swash plate pumps with conical cylinder blocks are now widely used in view of their good static and dynamic characteristics. However, drive shafts of these pumps experience dynamic loads due to the pressure forces transmitted through the body of the conical cylinder block to the supporting bearings. Dynamics of such rotating mechanism are quite interesting and should be considered in the design process of the drive shaft and the supporting bearings. A mathematical m

We report a method of calculating the motion error of a linear motion bearing stage. The transfer function method, which exploits reaction forces of individual bearings, is effective for estimating motion errors; however, it requires the rail-form errors. This is not suitable for a linear motion bearing stage because obtaining the rail-form errors is not straightforward. In the method described here, we use the straightness errors of a bearing block to calculate the reaction forces on the bearing block. Abstract:
Abstract Thermally sprayed hardmetal coatings are often used to protect valves in steam turbines against wear. Normally the valve spindles are made of CrMo steel and their bearings are made of Stellite, a cobalt-base alloy. In this investigation, a block-on-ring wear test is used with rings and blocks made of the same materials as the spindles and bearings. The rings were coated with Cr3C2-NiCr by HVOF spraying. Wear tests showed increasing weight loss up to 400°C and a sharp decline at 600°C due to a thin surface oxide layer that begins growing at 450°C. The coatings are characterized based o

Abstract:
This field review examines how African American mobile journalism became a model for marginalized people’s political communication across the United States. The review explores how communication scholars’ theories about mobile journalism and media witnessing evolved since 2010 to include ethnocentric investigations of the genre. Additionally, it demonstrates how Black people’s use of the mobile device to document police brutality provided a brilliant, yet fraught, template for modern activism. Finally, it shows how Black mobile journalism created undeniable counternarratives that challenged th

Abstract:
Between 2.62 and 2.58 Ga, Rae Province was intruded from Lake Athabasca to Melville Peninsula (more than 1700 km) by mafic to felsic plutons (Snow Island Suite), and overlain by volcanic rocks that are now mostly preserved beneath Paleoproterozoic basins. The Snow Island Suite was preceded by offshore arc volcanism and possible back-arc basin activity, with a U-Pb age peak at 2.635 Ga (Marjorie peak). About 50% of the Snow Island Suite is an infracrustal granitoid with K-enriched and tonalitic subtypes; the remainder lies on a sanukitoid spectrum. The sanukitoidal rocks are dominantly orthopyr

The project area covers approximately 300 km[superscript 2] encompassing parts of Amphoe Sop Prap, Amphoe Ko Kha, and Amphoe Mae Tha of Changwat Lampang. The area is mainly occupied by sedimentary (and metamorphic) rocks of Permian, Triassic, Tertiary and Quaternary ages. The Triassic rocks include the Phra That, the Pha Kan, and the Hong Hoi Formations of the Lampang Group. Igneous rocks comprise Permo-Triassic volcanics, Triassic granodiorite, and Cenozoic basalts. To better constrain the origin of the chromitites associated with the Esker Intrusive Complex (EIC) of the Ring of Fire Intrusive Suite (RoFIS), a total of 50 chromite-bearing samples from the Black Thor, Big Daddy, Blackbird, and Black Label chromite deposits have been analysed for major and trace elements. The samples represent three textural groups, as defined by the relative abundance of cumulate silicate phases and chromite. To provide deposit-specific partition coefficients for modeling, we also report on the results of laboratory experiments to measure olivine- and chromite-melt partiti

Tall, multistory, buildings are becoming increasingly popular in large cities as a result of growing urbanization trends (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs 2018). As cities continue to grow, many of them along the coasts of continents which are prone to natural hazards, the performance of tall, flexible buildings when subjected to natural hazards is a pressing issue with engineering relevance. The performance of structures when subjected to dynamic loads can be enhanced with various response modification strategies which have been traditionally achieved with added stiffn

Abstract:
Lubricating oils for automotive engines have been incorporating important improvements in chemical properties to increase engine performance, reduce fuel consumption and vehicular emissions indices, in addition to increasing the time interval for changing the lubricant itself. The objective of this study is to investigate the vibrational behavior of the block and crankshaft an Otto cycle internal combustion engine operated with ethanol and gasoline fuel as a function of the viscosity and total base number (TBN) of the lubricant. The study consisted of instrumenting the block and the 1st and 5t
