Abstract:
This manuscript introduces a hypothesis linking the intrinsic pulsating nature of the biomagnetic fields reach found in the human hair follicle as factor in the etiology of migraine headaches. In the last two decades, researchers have emphasized the efficiency of external pulsed electromagnetic fields in the treatment of migraine headaches. Clinical trials have also demonstrated that external pulsed electromagnetic fields may prevent or decrease the migraine attacks. A hypothesis is presented linking the inherent hair follicle pulsed bioelectomagnetism as a factor in the etiology of migraines.

Photoreactivity of melanin has become a major focus of research due to the postulated involvement of the pigment in UVA-induced melanoma. However, most of the hitherto studies were carried out using synthetic melanin models. Thus, photoreactivity of natural melanins is yet to be systematically analyzed. Here, we examined the photoreactive properties of natural melanins isolated from hair samples obtained from donors of different skin phototypes (I, II, III, and V). Through analyzing major and trace elements in hair and blood of 50 healthy companion dogs using ICP-MS, we study their associations with dog characteristics and diet, hypothesizing that eating the same diet long-term results in strong correlations between hair and blood element concentrations, and that dog characteristics and diet affect element status. The correlation between hair and blood was significant for Hg (R = 0.601, p = 0.000) and Pb (R = 0.384, p = 0.010). The following

Drug facilitated assault (DFA) is an increasing problem in the UK. The crime often occurs through the surreptitious administration of a drug into a victims drink, rendering the victim unable to resist the assault. The detection of these drugs in a biological specimen from the victim is one of the most challenging facets of forensic chemistry. Drug concentrations can be very low, as often only a single dose is administered, and the pharmacodynamics of commonly employed drugs further hinders the testing process. Previously 1 reported highly significant depression of the chromium-to-vanadium ratio in the nape hair of patients with myopia. It is associated with depressed accommodation and elevated intraocular pressure, both of which are associated with depression of insulin potentiation of glucose uptake by ciliary-muscle insulin receptors.1,2 In this double-masked cohort-panel study, chromium (Cr) and vanadium (V) were measured in red blood cells (erythrocytes). Of the first 184 patients, 27 were myopic (3 diopters) and 14 were hyperopic (1.25 diopter). I excluded patients less than 20 years old, patie

Abstract:
Introduction: Cannabis use in pregnancy is related to developmental and mental disorders. The acknowledgement of prenatal exposure frequently depends on the mother’s report, which can often be omitted. There exists little description in the literature of the different methods to detect the use of cannabis during pregnancy. Moreover, nowadays there is no standardized screening available. Objectives: The objective is to analyze the different methods of prenatal screening of cannabis during pregnancy. Methods: A systematic review of studies on the methods of screening of cannabis use during pregn

Abstract:
Membrane tethers can form naturally such as during leukocyte rolling (pre-adhesion) stage. Tethers can also be experimentally pulled from cellular membranes to estimate membrane mechanical and electromechanical properties, including bending modulus, adhesion energy of the membrane-cytoskeleton interaction, tension, and electromechanical forces produced by membranes. This technique has been effectively applied to a variety of cells such as red blood cells [1], neutrophils [2], and cochlear outer hair cells [3,4]. Abstract:
Cats suffer from type 2 diabetes more often. When observing 63 cats for 6 months, the most common signs were noted: polyuria, polydipsia, obesity and decreased activity. A common complaint from animal owners about the condition of the skin and coat. Cats have oily seborrhea, itching, scratching and hair loss on the back, near the root of the tail and on the stomach. The age of diabetic cats was 5-14 years. A biochemical blood test revealed an increase in glucose levels to 10-23.5 mmol / l (with a norm of up to 6.2). Almost all cats had an increase in hepatic transaminases by 2-3 or more times.

Abstract:
Vitamin D has a significant role in mineral metabolism, bone tissue homeostasis, and immunity. Cattle can synthetize vitamin D in the skin in a linear dose dependent manner of ultraviolet irradiation. The objectives of this study were to investigate the possibility of vitamin D supplementation with narrow-band UV-B irradiation during automatic milking time and to determine the influence of hair and pigmentation of skin and hair on cutaneous vitamin D3 synthesis in dairy cows. Holstein Friesian cows from one farm were enrolled into the study. A narrow-band UV-B light (peak irradiation at 295 nm
