Abstract:
The server room is a space owned by every company that serves as the control center for database systems in both small and large companies. Operational activities of the server are carried out by administrators (operators) who can monitor and manage the database system on the server. The temperature in the server room is crucial for maintaining the facilities and regulating the temperature when operators are inside. From the above issues, a system can be implemented that is currently widely used by everyone, namely the use of the Internet of Things (IoT). The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept designed to enable electronic devices to communicate autonomously and exchange data through network connections. The implementation of IoT has the potential for monitoring and control at specific locations. With the presence of IoT, it can integrate IoT, temperature sensor devices, and output applications such as Blynk and WhatsApp. Blynk facilitates the NodeMCU microcontroller and DHT22 to receive and send temperature values to users of the application. In addition to Blynk, another monitoring system uses a WhatsApp Bot that sends temperature notifications in the server room. The IoT with this concept yielded research test results, where the system facilitates users or administrators in monitoring and controlling temperature using Blynk and WhatsApp applications, benefiting from a more user-friendly interface. In conclusion, this research facilitates users or owners of server rooms to manage facilities for longer durability, and users or administrators can monitor the server room temperature without having to be inside.

The development of information technology in this modern era has progressed very rapidly, many ways have been developed to store large amounts of data, one of which is to use a server. A server is a computer system that serves and controls client access that is connected to it. All activities that we do on the internet always involve the server. Servers play a very important role because of their heavy duty to serve clients. Therefore, the server may not experience interference. One of the disturbances that cause a damaged server is the temperature that is too hot so that this tool is made in order to prevent these problems. This tool is made to regulate the temperature and humidity of the server room that exceeds reasonable limits. This tool is made using Arduino Uno as a microcontroller, DHT11 as a temperature and humidity sensor, Ethernet shield as a link to the internet. This tool also uses the Blynk application as monitoring, from the results of reading temperature and humidity sensors on this device can reduce the temperature by 6˚C cooler when the temperature in the room is hot, in this case the tool functions as it should

Abstract This project presents design and fabricate ADS1256 board and a seismic signal detection system using the ADS1256 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) board and the ESP32 microcontroller. The system will interface with the ADXL335 3-axis analog output sensor to detect seismic signals in the earth, which can be indicative of earthquakes. The ADS1256 board will be designed using Eagle software and fabricated to provide high-precision analog- to-digital conversion. The ESP32 microcontroller will be programmed to read data from the ADS1256 board and send it to the Blynk server for real-time monitoring and storage. The system will utilize the high-precision ADS1256 ADC to accurately capture the seismic signals detected by the ADXL335 sensor. ADXL335 sensor is a 3-axis accelerometer that provides analog output signals proportional to the acceleration in each axis. The ESP32 microcontroller will be programmed to read the digital output from the ADS1256 ADC and transmit the data to the Blynk server using Wi-Fi connectivity. The Blynk server will provide a platform for real-time monitoring and storage of the seismic signal data. The data can be accessed remotely using the Blynk app, allowing users to monitor seismic activity in real-time. This system can be useful for earthquake detection and monitoring, providing valuable data for seismologists and researchers.

Abstract:
The critical issue in server room management, emphasizing the potential damage caused by elevated temperatures to hardware within the server room environment. The proposed solution involves leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, specifically utilizing LoRa (Long Range) communication, to monitor key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and fire incidents. The sensors chosen for this purpose are the DHT11 for measuring temperature and humidity, and a Fire sensor for detecting potential fire hazards. The research focuses on three main aspects: testing the transmission distance, evaluating data delivery, and integrating sensor data into the Blynk dashboard, which serves as the central monitoring system. The testing process involves assessing the performance of the system under different conditions. Firstly, the transmission distance is tested, presumably to determine the maximum distance over which the sensors can reliably communicate with the monitoring system. Secondly, data delivery is examined, likely to ensure the timely and accurate transfer of information from the sensors to the monitoring dashboard. Lastly, the research involves the integration of sensor data into the Blynk dashboard, indicating a comprehensive approach to visualizing and interpreting the collected data. The results of the testing reveal that the optimal performance is achieved when the transmission distance is below 600 meters. This distance is achieved using a 5dBi antenna, connected to the Blynk dashboard, which is identified as the preferred monitoring system. The findings suggest that this IoT-based solution utilizing LoRa communication and specific sensors effectively addresses the challenges associated with server room management, providing a reliable and real-time monitoring mechanism to mitigate potential hardware damage due to environmental factors.

Keeping lovebirds at home becomes one of hobbies that is fascinating to some people. Keeping them as pets means educate us to be regular people, particularly related to the process of food provision. Innovation on feeding bird is required such as automatic feeding which can be controlled from far areas. It will be very beneficial when the lovebird keepers are not at home. Therefore, this study develops at designing an automatic system for feeding birds completed with remote control. For this reason, the researcher used ESP8266 connected to NODEMCU as the hardware and BLYNK server as the control bridge of internet. The data would then be transmitted from smartphone to esp8266 system to control the feeding process. In the context of feeding process, the researcher used RTC-clock owned by BLYNK server to substitute RTC as the hardware. Automation system of food provision was carried out by synchronizing the data of hours from the users. The research data were used to design feeder bucket which could give food around 7.2 - 52.8 grams and feeder bucket B for accommodating food about 6.2 - 48.3 grams. The results of control and connection via BLYNK server demonstrated that 90% data were connected. In terms of data accuracy, this automatic feeder could be accurately 100% successful in a certain time.

Abstract:
AbstractWhen setting up a simulation chamber experiment it is essential, in order to ensure meaningful results, to start with a well-controlled chemical system. Coming after the chapter dealing with the requested careful characterization of the simulation chamber, the present chapter describes the preparation of the chamber before running an experiment. It includes various chamber cleaning protocols, the preparation of a clean chamber atmosphere (the reacting mixture) and a series of protocols for blank experiments. Indeed, having a clean atmosphere in a simulation chamber, as free as possible from both particulate and gaseous impurities, is essential to ensure high quality experimental results. As it may not be possible to have a perfectly clean chamber, blank experiments are crucial to both assess chamber cleanliness, account for impurities and establish uncertainties of the observed phenomena. In the present chapter, various cleaning protocols which involve the oxidation of the impurities, dilution, temperature degradation/evaporation, but the evacuation or manual cleaning are described as well. The various techniques to generate clean gas mixture—mostly clean O2, N2 or water vapor, are discussed. Finally, complementarily to the reference experiments proposed in Chap. 2, blank experiments to characterize walls chemical inertia, chamber-dependent radical sources or the presence of water-soluble species are also described.

Abstract:
AbstractDiagrams are considered a powerful strategy for understanding and problem-solving. Self-explanation is believed to be behind the effectiveness of diagrams. However, it is not clear to what extent students engage in self-explanation. The possibility that students do not always engage in self-explanation is suggested by empirical studies showing that diagrams do not always produce efficacious outcomes. Ichikawa [1] also argued that it is unclear how students interpret diagrams and discussed the need to have students explain themselves using diagrams. In science learning, diagrams effectively help students learn the principles behind phenomena. Having students use diagrams to explain phenomena may help them understand the principles of the phenomena correctly and integrate their knowledge effectively across subject areas. Therefore, in this study, we developed lesson instructions in which students were required to explain the phenomenon using diagrams after the teacher had explained it. Students were also given the opportunity to solve the problem collaboratively after the explanation had been provided. The study involved 71 8th-grade students in one school. Fifty-eight same grade students from a traditional public school also participated in the study and served as the control group. A “basic knowledge test”, which tested students’ knowledge in a fill-in-the-blank format, and a “principle understanding test” and “transfer test,” which tested students’ knowledge in an explanation format, were administered. The results demonstrated no significant difference in the basic knowledge test, but the score in the principle understanding test and the transfer knowledge test was higher for the students who received the experimental instruction. This study indicates that deeper understanding is facilitated by combining the experience of using diagrams with peer explanation.

Abstract:
Abstract The effects of O2 and, implicitly, of oxidized sulfur species on sour corrosion were studied in a series of two-stage glass cell experiments at different temperatures (25, 40, 60, 80 °C). In stage-I, aqueous solutions were purged with a mixed gas of H2S and air (O2) for 1 day. The oxidized sulfur specie SO42− formed at all temperature conditions. The amounts of SO42− increased with increasing temperature. SO32− was only found at 25 °C. S2O32− was detected at 25, 40 and 60 °C. In addition, considerable amounts of elemental sulfur were formed at 40, 60 and 80 °C. In stage-II, corrosion coupons were exposed in the brines resulting from the stage-I. The highest corrosion rates were observed at 60 °C. The presence of reaction products of H2S and O2 had a more significant effect with regard to localized corrosion at high temperatures. Small pits were observed at lower temperatures (25, 40 °C) while at 60 and 80 °C large pits and deep localized attacks occurred. With the simultaneous presence of O2 and H2S, high corrosion rates generated severe localized attacks. In the cells with oxidized sulfur species present from stage-I, a consistent increase in the severity of localized attacks was observed in the subsequent exposure periods, i.e. N2, H2S, mixed gas (H2S and O2) exposure period, when compared to the blank.

Abstract:
The newly developed element exchange method (EEM) for topology optimization is applied to the problem of blank shape optimization for the sheet-forming process. EEM uses a series of stochastic operations guided by the structural response of the model to switch solid and void elements in a given domain to minimize the objective function while maintaining the specified volume fraction. In application of EEM to blank optimization, a sheet forming simulation model is developed using Abaqus/Explicit. With the goal of minimizing the variability in wall thickness of the formed component, a subset of solid (i.e., high density) elements with the highest increase in thickness is exchanged with a consistent subset of void (i.e., low density) elements having the highest decrease in thickness so that the volume fraction remains constant. The EEM operations coupled with finite element simulations are repeated until the optimum blank geometry (i.e., boundary and initial thickness) is found. The developed numerical framework is applied to blank optimization of a benchmark problem. The results show that EEM is successful in generating the optimum blank geometry efficiently and accurately.

Abstract:
In this study, the size dependence of metal sheet on the plastic deformation behavior was investigated in microscale deep drawing process. In order to perform deep drawing experiments, a tooling system was first developed. Then, a series of microscale deep drawing experiments were performed in various process conditions. The blank holder gap between the blank and blankholder was controlled to eliminate the possible defect such as wrinkling. In particular, the effects of feature size were analyzed by comparing the normalized deformation loads at different values of the scale factor λ. It was found that the maximum value of the normalized deformation load and the failure instant were strongly influenced by the feature size of metal sheet.

Abstract:
A novel sheet metal forming technology based on aspects of both warm forming and superplastic forming has recently been developed. The new forming process, referred to as hot draw mechanical preforming (HDMP), uses two sequential steps to form a panel within a single tool at elevated temperature. In the first step, the cushion system acts on a binder and upper die to draw the blank over a punch which serves to draw in metal from the perimeter of the blank. In the second step gas pressure is applied to finish the panel details. This two step process of drawing in metal followed by gas forming can result in a significant expansion of the forming envelope for conventional AA5xxx series aluminum sheet alloys commonly used within the automotive industry. Similar to SPF, the HDMP process is performed within a single forming press equipped with heated platens and using gas pressure to shape the component during elevated temperature forming. However, the HDMP process utilizes a blankholder to control the flow of material into the forming cavity during the drawing stage and therefore requires the addition of an integrated cushion system in the bed of the press. HDMP dies are of interest in automotive applications because they maintain the low-investment attributes of SPF tooling while also significantly reducing the forming time as compared to conventional SPF. This work details the CAE based design of an HDMP die to form a one-piece aluminum door inner that can not be formed with conventionally forming processes. Critical aspects addressed in the development of the die include manufacturing targets, part design for manufacturing, and die design for operation at elevated temperature.

Abstract:
This study explored spatial patterns of overflights at Olympic National Park (OLYM). Overflights were analyzed from July 27th, 2021 to January 2nd, 2023 using Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data with a total of 525 days of data. Data were collected using data loggers that were deployed at Blyn (located outside of OLYM), Hurricane Ridge, and Hoh Rain Forest. The first phase of analysis focused on all overflights and found a high concentration of overflights above the northeastern portion of OLYM, and definitive flight corridors were identified across the park. The second phase of analysis focused on low-level overflights that fly below 10,500 ft mean sea level (MSL) and fly within 10 miles of the OLYM boundary. Phase 2 figures display four figures based on seasons and show a concentration of flights between 6,001?10,500 ft MSL except in and around the Port Angeles area where there is a concentration of flights in the 0?6,000 ft MSL altitudinal range. The third phase of analysis selected all low-level overflights below 2,500 ft above ground level (AGL) and within 0.5-mile of the OLYM boundary. Kernel density analysis was conducted using waypoints segmented into 500 ft above ground level (AGL) altitude intervals from 0?2,500 ft AGL. The altitude interval with the highest density of overflights was ?0?500 ft AGL?. Kernel density hot spots were observed along the flight corridor and over Port Angeles. Also, overflights flown by known air tour operators and park administration were shown. Overflight patterns of air tour operators mostly follow the recommended air tour route. Lastly, overflights intersecting with Olympic Military Operations Area (MOA) were identified and mapped. This information can be used for planning and management purposes and this study serves as a resource for future research that intends to use more advanced analytics.
