This study has statistically analyzed the effect of boiler type and model year on CH4 emission factors, focusing on liquefied natural gas (LNG)—the most commonly used fuel in South Korean manufacturing combustion facilities. Samples were collected from the boilers of 39 manufacturing combustion facilities that use LNG fuel. The CH4 emission factors were developed based on 4 overhead fire-tube boilers, 14 once-through boilers, 14 vertical boilers with vertical water tubes, and 7 other boilers. This resulted in an average value of 0.11 CH4 kg/TJ, which is considerably lower than the Intergovernm

Performance evaluation metrics assess fluidization quality based on coal volume fraction, air and coal velocity, and pressure. The total air mass flow rate was set to

Abstract:
Abstract In collaboration with different industrial actors within the European Thermie-project, a new austenitic stainless steel has been developed for use in advanced coal fired power boilers. The grade is designed for high creep- and oxidation resistance, high structural stability and good fabricability. It can be utilized at temperatures up to around 700°C. The temperature strength is reached by precipitate strengthening through precipitation of fine Nb(C,N), NbCrN, M23C6 and Cu-rich precipitates. The so far obtained test results indicate that this grade has high oxidation resistance and hi
