Abstract:
The SMK Negeri 1 Siantar School Library is one of the special libraries located at the SMK Negeri 1 Siantar School. Libraries provide various kinds of library materials such as books, lessons, lesson questions, and other vocational books. After the researcher made observations, the problem that often occurred was books that were borrowed and returned books that had a non-strategic layout, so that library visitors who did not know the placement found it difficult to find the books they wanted to borrow. This research uses data mining techniques, namely the Apriori Algorithm, the Apriori Method is a method for looking for patterns of relationships between one or more items in a dataset. The Apriori method can be used for data on borrowing books at the Siantar 1 State Vocational School School Library, where the composition of the library books (B1) X_Press UN 2019 B. Indonesia side by side with books (B4) School of Love is a Great Leader and Teacher, if the composition of the book is (B10) Moral Mulia side by side with book (B1) X_Press UN 2019 B. Indonesia, If the book arrangement (B7) X_Press Mathematics is side by side with the book (B5) Relationer, if the book arrangement (B7) X_Press Mathematics is side by side with the book (B9) Indonesian Wisdom Batak Toba, and if the arrangement of the book (B10) Morals Mulia is side by side with the book (B8) Hati Therapy, the data from these items each met the minimum confidance value of 0,5% or the same as the specified 50%. The result of this research is to help library staff arrange the book layout correctly. It is hoped that this research can provide input to the school

Abstract:
The system which is applied at the library of SMA Negeri 1 Tegallalang is still manual, where students have to search or look for the books that they need one by one. In their system, the officers will record the books borrowed by the students in a notebook. All data of the book collections in the library is also recorded in a book. For the visitor report, out book reports, book returned reports, and book data report will be recap by handwriting. This web will make the students easier to search for titles of books that they want to read or borrow. Therefore, the students no longer need to look for the title of the book they want to borrow by searching one by one on the bookcase. This system will be described in the design of Data Flow Diagrams, Conceptual Data Model, and userinterface is made for it.The results of the problem above is a library information system. This system will be able to assist students in the process of borrowing books. Moreover, it can assist the officers to record the data , reporting, bookkeeping, and the calculation of fines.

Abstract:
This article is the first part of a longer essay, which is divided into two parts. The Book of Wisdom is a special book in the Bible. It is the youngest book of the Old Testament, but Canon Muratori enlists it among the New Testament books. Many manuscripts and old translations call this book the Wisdom of Salomonos, because Salomon seemed to be the author of this work (cf. Wis 7–9). Strong arguments exclude his authorship, but it is sure, that an Israelite must have been the author. Although there are many hypotheses about the date of its birth, Sitz im Leben and the wording defend the view that the text must have been written while the Romans ruled in Egypt.

This paper is an attempt to find out the canonical meaning of the insertion of the text of Deuteronomy 1: 1-8 in the overall framework of Deuteronomy. The method used in this research is canonical hermeneutics developed by Brevard S. Childs, this approach enables the interpreter to see the intent of the editor of the Scriptures in the preparation of text sequences in such a way as to the perspective of the final canon. The canonical analysis shows that Deuteronomy 1: 1-8 is the initial part of the minor form (chapters 1-4) that is deliberately inserted and placed at the front as a close link to the previous book (even the first four books of the holy book) and is both an introduction and legitimacy of authority Deuteronomy even for the whole Deuteronomic History. Abstract:
What methods do writers and illustrators use to visually approach the comic book page in an American Superhero form that can be adapted to create a professional and engaging Australian hero comic? The purpose of this research is to adapt the approaches used by prominent and influential writers and artists in the American superhero/action comic-book field to create an engaging Australian hero comic book. Further, the aim of this thesis is to bridge the gap between the lack of academic writing on the professional practice of the Australian comic industry. In order to achieve this, I explored and learned the methods these prominent and professional US writers and artists use. Compared to the American industry, the creating of comic books in Australia has rarely been documented, particularly in a formal capacity or from a contemporary perspective. The process I used was to navigate through the research and studio practice from the perspective of a solo artist with an interest to learn, and to develop into an artist with a firmer understanding of not only the medium being engaged, but the context in which the medium is being created. This means both in the American genre and its adaptation in Australia within the context of the local scene.
Thesis (Professional Doctorate)
Doctor of Visual Arts (DVA)
Queensland College of Art
Arts, Education and Law
Full Text

Abstract:
This thesis represents the first full-scale, English commentary on the opening book of Lucans epic poem, De Bello Ciuili, in sixty-five years. Its fundamental purpose is to explain the language and content of the Latin text of the book. The subject matter of the thesis beyond the introduction is naturally dependent upon the content of each individual line under consideration, but the following questions may help establish some of the larger issues I have prioritised throughout my response to the Latin text of book one. These questions may be variously relevant to an episode within book one of De Bello Ciuili, or else a sentence, a line, a word, a metrical issue, or a combination of these. How does it help locate the text within the genre of epic? What does it contribute to the overall meaning of the poem? What does it contribute to our understanding of epic narrative technique? What does it contribute to our understanding of Lucans poetic usage and technique? How does it interact with the rest of the poem (i.e. what are the structural or intratextual markers advertised and what do they contribute to the meaning of the passage under consideration or the structure of the book or poem as a whole)? How does it interact with its (especially epic) models (i.e. what intertextual markers are at work and how does the invocation of earlier models affect the meaning of the passage under consideration)? How does it behave in relation to what we know of the norms espoused by Classical literary criticism? What are the programmatic issues, themes, and images explored or established by book one?

Abstract:
The history of the book in the West shows how new technologies and ways of reproduction have changed the book`s structure, and modified its form and relationship with the reader. The supremacy of the codex over the volumen (scroll) and Gutenberg`s movable type (the printing press) are examples of these revolutionary transformations. According to the French historian Roger Chartier, nowadays the electronic text is making the opposition between book and screen disappear, and fostering new writing forms and reading in digital media. Texts become different on the printed page and on the computer screen (as well as in many other electronic gadgets). This represents a book change, which includes, simultaneously, structure, organization, writing manners and appearance. Its further, represents a cultural transformation in the book form, reproduction, distribution and relationship with the reader. A virtual book exists only in cyberspace and in the reader`s mind. In Design, digital technology and hypermedia bring several possibilities and new thoughts about a book`s project. Its pages are converted in hybrid territories, where typography, image, sound and movement involve the reader during the reading action. This means a new concept and the revision of the book`s visual project. This research approaches book design, literature and the narrative forms developed for digital media reading. It deals with form and content, looking for new characteristics of the electronic book as a novelty, and tries to find out which one is surviving this change from print book to screen.

Gowling, Eric. "Aetius of Amida. Libri Medicinales Book 1 : a translation with commentary." Thesis, University of Glasgow, 2015. http://theses.gla.ac.uk/6174/.

Full text
Abstract:
This work is the first translation into a modern language of book 1 of the Libri Medicinales of Aëtius of Amida, a Byzantine physician who wrote in the middle of the 6th century AD. It comprises a lengthy preface, describing the analysis of pharmacological materials in terms of the science of the time, followed by 418 chapters, listing such materials obtained from plants. Commentary is to be found in the Introduction, as well as a running commentary after each part of the preface and each chapter. As Aëtius’ book 1 is a synopsis of the plants section of Galen’s On the Mixtures and Capacities of Simple Drugs, particular attention is paid to comparison between Aëtius’ work and that of Galen. Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of the ancient drugs in the light of modern scientific knowledge, a relatively neglected area of research, has also been given serious consideration.

Abstract:
Both diffraction gratings and optical interference coatings are used in a wide range of applications. While the basic theory of thin-film optics is well covered in many optics text books and many books on the design, fabrication and application of optical coatings have been published, the treatment of diffraction gratings in optics text books goes little beyond presenting the grating and to date only three books on diffraction gratings have been published. The book edited by Petit1 describes the electromagnetic theory of gratings. The book by Hutley2 concentrates on the physics of gratings. Complementing the above two, the recently published book by Loewen and Popov3 aims at the applications of gratings. In addition, a volume in SPIE’s milestone series, edited by Maystre4, contains many important papers in all aspects of gratings up to 1992.

Abstract:
In the summer of 2019, Temple University’s main library relocated to a new building, in which most of the 1.3 million-item main stacks collection resides in an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), and a small portion in open stacks. The open stacks, or browsing collection, includes highly circulating items, new books, and materials with a particular need for browsing. Highly-circulating items were identified by dividing the total number of loans by the number of years the library had owned the book. Materials with a particular need for browsing, generally those with significant visual components such as art and music scores, were also selected by formula, though a lower number of loans was required in order for the book to be added to the browsing title list. The Collections Analysis Librarian merged the lists of highly circulating items and highly visual items and presented the preliminary title list to Subject Specialists. These librarians then suggested categories of books that they felt should be browseable, such as maps and language dictionaries. Identifying new books was more complicated than expected, as the list needed to exclude certain categories of purchases, such as replacements or continuations, that did not belong in the open stacks. All items destined for browsing were marked with bright green stickers near the call number, which served as an effective way for the staff who packed the books to separate them from those going to the ASRS.

Abstract:
The energy equation handbook is the complete collection of physically coherent expression of energy computed using from 2 to 7 physical units among: density(ML-3) energy (ML2T-2) time (T) force (MLT-2) power (ML2T-3) current (I) temperature (Th) quantity (N) mass (M) length (L) candela (J) surface (L2) volume (L3) concentration (ML-3) frequency (T-1) acceleration (LT- 2) speed (LT-1) pressure (ML-1T-2) viscosity (ML-1T-1) luminance (L- 2J) MolarMass (MN-1) MassicEnergy (L2T-2) resistance (ML2T-3I-2) voltage (ML2T-3I-1) Farad (M-1L-2T4I2) Thermal- Conductivity (MLT-3Th-1) SpecificHeat (L2T-2Th-1) MassFlux (MT-1) SurfaceTension (MT-2) Charge (TI) Resistivity (ML3T-3I-2) The complete list of 4196 equations is sorted by number of variable required to obtain an energy in Joules. All the units are in MKSA.
