Full textBoquen, located in “ Côtes d’Armor”, is in 1965 a Cistercian abbey of the common observance. In 1976, the Little Sisters of Bethleem settle there with the precise purpose of re-establishing monastic life after the agitated decade that has just come to an end at Boquen. For the abbey had indeed been turned into a prominent place of the catholic protest in France, if not its very symbol. This study proposes an analysis, in a chronological mode, of the elements that have contributed to the transforming of this small abbey into a sounding board for the expectations of thousands of Christians. It thus brings to light the importance played by the socio-religious context of the sixties and seventies upon the evolution of Boquen, and also the major role played by Bernard Besret, the very charismatic Prior of Boquen and later leader of the “Communion”. He initiated an original community project, the Communion of Boquen, which combined monasticism, ecumenism and spirit of the sixties. On August 20th 1969 Bernard Besret gives a resounding conference which brings about his dismissal. From that day, that sanction attracts to the abbey all the christian anti-establishment wing, ranging from left to far left. By the autumn of 1970 Boquen has taken the leadership of the Christians in spiritual quest. The next two years confirm its success. But what is Boquen? In 1973, it starts declining. Things get worse with Bernard Besret’s departure in October 1974. By the autumn of 1976, that utopic experiment within the walls of Boquen comes to an end with the expulsion of the Communion and of the community of residents who had settled there

The present study has as research’s object the residents’ wealth of Lagarto and Boquim/ SE in the period between 1850-1888, and it aims at the analysis of the formation of fortunes, observing how the continuities and transformations of regional economy contributed to the construction of this wealth and from the fortunes’ values elaborate a socioeconomic classification of inventoried, as well as analyze the socio-economic activities that generated higher levels of wealth. And also our intention was to better understand the economy’s dynamic of this region, caused by the expansion of sugar cane during the mid-nineteenth century and as such contributed to the increase in local fortunes. The growth of the sugar cane sector has led to increased subsistence cultivations and breeding cattle to feed the growing population free and slave of the period. Thus, this expansion led to greater economic and social dynamism, favoring an increase in the wealths. There was a social inequality shown from the wealth’s concentration overcoat in the hands of the great masters of local mills, followed by traders, breeders and farmers. These fortunate searched not only wealths but also prestige and power within society. Keywords: Lagarto – Boquim– Economy – Society – Wealth.

With the Adolescent and Child’s Statute (ECA), Brazil is provided with one of the most advanced legislation for the protection of children and teenagers. However, the statistics and the daily evidences have shown the intensification of the infant-juvenile work, therefore a wide distance between what the law conceives and what the reality has presented. According to the actual statistical evidences, a total of 2.9 million Brazilians aged 5 to 14 years have been working and most of them are paid less than half a minimum wage. Some live under a semi-slave regime, since they perform a workday of up to 12 hours, while receiving anything for their activity at either the primary, the secondary or the tertiary sector. This contextual reality has been leading the agencies of the Ministry of the Social Welfare/ Social Action Bureau in several Brazilian counties, such as the case in Boquim-SE, to try the implementation of the PETI (Infantile Work Eradication Program). Associated with several government’s sectors and the society, this Program is directed towards the "eradication" of the infantile work, and is mainly addressed to the families submitted to poverty and social exclusion. The theoretical model used in this research is based on the approach of the human development ecology, that emphasizes the importance of an interlinked system conjunct in order to provide the parental empowerment. The basic assumption of this approach is that every family unit, with their form varieties, must be the center of any Program targeted to supporting the family/ child, since it is the structure more directly involved with the infantile segment. Through their social nets and involvement with the Program, the child and the school, these families should be strengthened so that the parental empowerment to be a positive one, which might be examined through the children’s performance and adjustment to their family microsystem. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the PETI implanted in Boquim county, SE, by using the data from secondary and primary sources, as well as the quantitative and qualitative research methods analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results showed that the contextual reality, in social-institutional terms, is favorable to the implantation of the PETI by either the existent local infrastructures and the number of the involved partners. The child /adolescent and their families perceived the Program as "good and important for their lives", since it has been providing conditions to "recover the lost childhood" absorbed by the painful and dangerous work in orange harvest. This PETI importance, under the viewpoint of the children/adolescents, is due to the formation of a new friendship cycle, a wider cohesion and communication with the parents, in addition to the contribution for the improvement of the human capital, recovery has occurred by a new circle of friendships, the higher cohesion and communication with parents, as well as the improvement of the human capital (infantile and adult), lower financial insecurity, and high satisfaction with life quality, basically concerning to the service of the satisfaction of the needs of existence and relationship. The results allow to conclude that the PETI implantation and actual management in Boquim county have been shown positive results in terms of the cognitive and motivational development of the children /adolescents, besides the parental empowerment.

The main objective of the petrographic, lithogeochemical and geocronological study developed in the northeastern sector of the Salvador-Esplanada-Boquim (CSEB) Belt, within the northeastern branch of the Itabuna-Salvador-Curaçá Orogen, was to perform a geological mapping within the Granulitic Esplanada-Boquim Complex (CGEB) of four acid and intermediate granulitic units. Through this mapping, bands of basic granulites, aluminiummagnesian granulites (kinzigites) and quartzites, and also dacitic dike swarms, called Arauá dikes, were separated. The four acid and intermediate granulitic units consist of an association of grey to greenish-grey orthogranulites of medium granoblastic texture that present the typical paragenesis of rocks formed or rebalanced in conditions of granulitic facies. The basic granulites bands are embedded concordantly in the acid and intermediate units, presenting grey to dark-grey color, with granoblastic texture and, sometimes, occurring near the kinzigitic granulites bands. The bands of the latter are arranged concordantly to the regional structure and show paragenesis presenting garnet, cordierite, sillimanite, biotite, mesoperthite and plagioclase. The subvulcanic Arauá dikes, of rhyolitic to dacitic composition, fill cracks of the granulitic complex and of the gneissic-migmatitic complex westwards of the granulites. The lithogeochemical parameters used in the study of basic granulites indicate a tholeiitic filiation and a direct origin of the MORB to those rocks, with the identification of evidence that the mantle was either metassomatized or that the magma was contaminated by Zr from material of the continental crust. The study of the acid and intermediate granulites in the area of the CGEB revealed the existence of four calcium-alkaline series ranging from low to high K, called: (i) enderbitic Ed2, (ii) monzocharnockitic (MCh), (iii) enderbitic Ed1; and (iv) charnoenderbitic (Ch-Ed). Multi-element diagrams indicate that the four units presented negative anomalies of Nb, Ti and P, and low content of HFSE, suggesting an association of these rocks with petrogenetic processes of a subduction zone. Petrogenetic diagrams of the Perple X software, using thermodynamic data of the aluminium-magnesian granulites (kinzigites), indicated the occurrence of a metamorphic peak of T= 860ºC and P= 6.8 kbar in the evolution of the progressive paragenesis of these rocks. The geochronological data indicate ages that suggest the presence of five thermal and/or tectonic events that occurred in the studied area: (i) extraction of the magma of the granulite’s protolith Ed2, 2.90 Byr (modelage TDM-Nd); (ii) granulite crystallization Ed2 2,582±11 Myr; (iii) crystallization of the migmatitic gneisses (CGMRIR) ac. 2,179±06 Myr; (iv) regional metamorphism reaching rocks of the CGEB and of the CGMRIR between 2,087 Myr and 2,073 Myr; and (v) filling of cracks in the form of dike swarms ac. 2,015±12 Myr.

Esperase que as informa??es reunidas neste trabalho fundamentem atividades e pesquisas subsequentes nesta regi?o semi?rida do Rio Grande do Norte/Brasil.
The contamination of water bodies with toxic substances causes a decrease in water quality, representing a risk to public health. In this context, human activities are generally seen as the main sources of water degradation. However, elements found naturally in the environment can also compromise water quality. Thus, the Boqueir?o?s dam, located in the municipality of Parelhas (RN, Brazil), was chosen as area for the development of this study, as its geological region is rich in the emission of natural ionizing radiation that produces byproducts like lead and Radon. Moreover, the area has a strong human influence that enhances the risks of pollutant discharge in this body of water. Thus, the objectives of this study were centered (i) in the analysis of risk perception in the city of Parelhas (RN/Brasil) due to the use of the water from the Boqueir?o Dam; and (ii) in the assessment of water quality in the Dam using methods that quantify, mainly, heavy metals and radiation levels, as well as these toxics potential of inducing mutations on genetic material. The analysis of risk perception showed that the population in the city of Parelhas can perceive a risk in using the water from the dam and that they can recognize factors that influence the water quality. Regarding the second objective, the set of data point to the contamination of the Dam by heavy metals, as well as levels of radioactive parcicles and Radon ? also present in high concentrations in outdoor air and on soil. Thus, it is possible to infer that the population residing in this area is subjected to injuries caused by exposure to natural and anthropogenic contamination. Our findings corroborate with the perception of the population regarding the risks associated with the use of the Dam for several types of activities. It is expected that the information gathered in this study can substantiate activities and future researches in this semiarid region in the Rio Grande do Norte/Brazil. Also, that the set of data can enable a better understanding of the specific toxicological scenario of risk found for the population and the effect of the contamination for the biota, which aids the development of a future risk assessment and a consequent management of this local issue.
